installed it with all holes open, and car is running great and it sounds awesome, no problems so far, its been 2 weeks and can’t complain, product recommended if you want that sweet turbo sound! very easy install with the right tools
Okay, so yesterday I was fortunate enough to have a warm day to finally Install this guy on my 22 WRX (Ignition Red). I installed it as shown in this video with none of the screws installed and double checked all my connections were made and sensors snug before installing the undercover and skid plate to wrap up the job. I opened the hood and fired it up, gave it a rev or two and ever so slightly heard a whistle or at least enough to know it was on there. Not much sound at all. I nervously drove it around the neighborhood (and eventually on the highway for a pull.) I didn't hear much of a blow off sound (if any) in 1st, or 2nd, or 3rd unless I was really pushing it and building a ton of boost, but then finally in 4th gear the pshhhhhhh sound came about. It lasted a lot longer than id imagined kindve like a tire that just got slashed but overall pretty cool sound. I expected to hear somthing in ALL GEARS however, and this is NOT the case. Then I noticed most videos on TH-cam or Instagram people are recording the sounds under heavy load almost every time. Other blow off valves I've heard you hear every gear change even if just cruising? Is this normal, or how most people's sounds or am I missing somthing here? (No intake on my car either). I seen one reveiw video (of the kid driving with one hand), but his boomba sounded off in ALL gears and sounded pretty nice so I was confused why mine isnt? I installed very carfully and correctly followed instructions upon install. Is he just really pushing it THAT hard in every gear? I have to ask myself if this is worth it only to hear the pshh sound in 4th gear every once in awhile. It almost sounds unnatural to me expecting to hear it after every gear change, but it's also my first blow off valve adapter so maybe that's just how thesram's work? From what I've gathered, the 22 WRX BOV is managed electronically which is why I'm assuming I don't hear it as much in lower gears and mostly when I step on the gas at higher rpm's. Any feedback would be nice. I'm trying to convince myself not to take it off, but i really dont want to risk motor failure or whatever damage could come from it simply for a 4th gear pshhh sound. I'm a nervous wreck about it and paranoid because this is a 40k car. I also drive the highway quite frequently with my kids. Somebody please change my mind or possibly fill me in on any info I may be missing?
Hi! Please give us a call at 630.694.0404. Our BOVA should vent on every gear shift and it has no moving parts so there are no parts that can fail if everything was installed correctly.

Just bought one for my 2021 Outback xt as eBay said it should fit? Is this going to fit? I don’t want to take things apart to realize it’s not the same.
You need to make a set of catch cans for the 22. You'd probably sell quite a bit as I know of many asking about. Everyone including myself just ordered the radium duals. I thought I'd check you guys out first but no dice.

I have it installed with all holes open and my car seems to drop to 900 rpm then shoot to 2000 rpm when in neutral. It also seems to shake more at idle is there anyways to fix that?
I installed this on my car and it wants to stall out immediately and dies out when in traffic. Any suggestions on fixing this issue? There’s no other modifications on the vehicle
Hey there! Prior to installation did you assure that there were two o-rings located on the blow-off valve adaptor and that the piston was still free moving in the OEM blow off valve? There are no moving parts to the BOVA so it should not be causing any issues outside of what occurs in stock form.
@@BoombaRacing yup the o rings were on it, the oem piston worked fine, plugged all the holes and still wanted to stall out even while revving and going back down to idle

Hi, the BOVA has been designed to work safely in all 9 different adjustable set-ups. We plug some from factory but leave it up to you to adjust sound level to preference. We have had people running no holes without issues and we have some running almost all!
I just installed this and it sounds absolutely insane, did a test run to check it out right after and fell in love

Hi! We recommend making the bolts nice and tight, all the hardware should stay on with an extra quarter turn when they feel tight! Glad to be of help!
Does this effect the flow of air at all? Meaning a tune necessary after this install?
A tune isn't necessary with the blow off valve adapter! We have had 0 issues with our shop car for 3 months so far.

The benefit is that you get that nice BOV sound from the stock bypass valve. There are no performance gains unfortunately
Is this still partially recirculating? If so what is the ratio between recirculating and vent to atmosphere?
Hi! This valve recirculates at a roughly 70/30 split with only around 30% venting to atmosphere! Hope this helps!

How did you do it? I'm struggling to get mine to budge.
Mine didn’t come with adjuster additional screws and is black does mine have the preinstalled nuts too I can’t tell ?
Our BOVA comes with six set screws pre installed and three extra not installed set screws
The stock had four screws does it matter with the bov only having 3 screws to insert?

We believe it should fit! But we haven't gotten a 22 Legacy XT to test fit unfortunately, so we can't guarantee that it does fit.
