The very definition of Catholic is Universal in the sense that the whole contains every part and every part contains the whole....the is why the Orthodox Church can grow in every nation and within every ethnicity, because it is Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.

The Orthodox Church has a bunch of patriarchs that have no authority over them except for God, which makes them separate leadership structures, that merely recognize each other as valid (or not if there's a schism).

It's not such a big deal after you find out both his parents were Italian immigrants to Argentina, his ethnicity is Italian, hence pope Francis is just another ethnic Italian pope. At least pope Benedict was German and Pope John Paul II was Polish so at least there was a little variety, even if there hasn't been a non-European pope since the Syrian pope Gregory III in the 8th century. Yeah, not a lot of variety of leadership when it comes to the Roman Catholic Church (it even has Roman in its name, betraying its ethnic origin).

My dad‘s a Protestant pastor, I grew up in church, Catholicism was never appealing to me. I was wrong about them in some ways but overall I was right that they are not the true church. Orthodoxy is fulfilling the hollowness I had in my spiritual life as a Protestant ☦️

My dad while quite most times on the issue also finds ways to say, "well objectively you know the church isn't the TRUE church, right?" or stuff like "You know saint veneration is pagan right?" Great video debunking Steve Ray's silly arguments against Orthodoxy.
3:33 Context for the existence of Eastern Catholics in my country of Romania: Transylvanian Romanians were persecuted by the Austrian Roman Catholics in the 18th century. Maria Theresa (1717 - 1780), the Hasburg ruler ordered Adolf Nikolaus von Buccow, an Austrian general and governor of Transylvania to destroy all Romanian Orthodox churches and monasteries. Only Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery survived but it still has damage from the Hasburg cannons that were fired at it. Also Romanian priests, monks and faithful Romanian Orthodox Christians were un-alived. That's how the Romanian Eastern Catholic Church got converts, the Romanians got threatened if they didn't convert to Catholicism, so the Eastern Catholic Church became a compromise between Orthodoxy and Catholicism. So yes, it was all about geo-politics and keeping their power and influence for the Austrians and not about faith.

@@konstantinmeneltarama5306 Unfortunately the only good sources on wikipedia are the "Adolf Nikolaus von Buccow" page in Romanian and Bulgarian, the wikipedia article doesn't yet have a page in English. It also has a page in German, but they avoided to add Adolf Nikolaus von Buccow's persecution of the Romanian Orthodox in Transylvania so I added it on the German page. But the German editors deleted the information that I added. It's very interesting that the information about it on wikipedia is in Romanian and Bulgarian on wikipedia, the two Orthodox majority countries. Also there is information on wikiwand, it has a Romanian page about "Adolf Nikolaus von Buccow" as well as the Romanian version of wikipedia "enciclopediaromaniei" (the encyclopedia of Romania). You can install the google translate app on your browser and translate the pages into English.
Edit: The Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery wikipedia article in English has information about the subject: "Constantin Brâncoveanu, Prince of Wallachia, built a stone and brick church in place of an older wooden one around 1696, with the monastery established by 1701. Part of his motivation was to strengthen the Orthodox presence in the region and guard against encroaching Catholicism, which had become a more pressing issue after 1683 and the consolidation of Habsburg domination over Transylvania. Over the course of the 18th century, there was pressure on the monks to accept union with Rome. In 1761, Adolf von Buccow, Governor of Transylvania, ordered the destruction of all Orthodox monasteries under his jurisdiction. Sâmbăta de Sus was spared, probably following an intervention by the Brâncoveanu family. Greek-Catholic Bishop Grigore Maior insisted it be suppressed, as its monks not only refused to convert, but also urged local inhabitants not to do so. In 1782, an order from the imperial court in Vienna decreed that all monasteries whose inhabitants led lives only of contemplation should be disbanded. Despite pleas from the Brâncoveanus, the monastery was destroyed in November 1785. The church was severely damaged although not demolished, and the monks most likely crossed the Carpathians into Wallachia."
The same happened in Poland, Ukraine and Croatia. The Orthodox Polish and Ukrainian believers were forced to accept Catholicism. Please check the name of Josaphat Kuntsevych who is a current Catholic saint, but who persecuted Polish and Ukrainian Orthodox. Also check the Polish orthodox martyr Maxim Sandovich who was persecuted by Catholic Austrians. Polish people were 90% Orthodox until the fall of Constantinople, but now there is less than 2% of them Orthodox in the 21st century. Actually Polish people are the most devoted Catholics. Talking about Stockholm syndrome. In Croatia it was the Orthodox Serbs who were forcefully converted as well. The Ustasha Nazi government committed a terrible genocide against the Serbs, Roma and Jews killing 700,000 people in the process from 1941-1945. The biggest concentration camp in Jasenovac still stands as a witness to these horrible atrocities.

Individual Catholic Churches do take saints from other Churches. Benham for instance is venerated by the Nestorians and the Severians, the Catholic Churches which venerate him are the Chaldean-Catholic and Maronite-Catholic.

To the contrary, the early church clearly believed in the Papacy. Perhaps you have to study the early church more. You can also ask me, where to look (the sermons and Letters of Leo the Great would be a good start). Orthodoxy is a religion of heretical innovations and a spirit of schism, and you need to get out of it.
You need to make a stand alone video debunking the Catholic Church and it’s heresies and common arguments made by Catholics it would definitely be a hit.
Know of any good, reliable (preferably neutral) sources to show which church is more correct? I lean much more towards Orthodoxy but I am ultimately still on the fence between it and Eastern Catholicism.

Kyle has a really good video, explaining orthodox Christianity down to its inception and explaining it very well. You may have watched it. You may not have watched it but I will link it for you. But as explained by Kyle in this video in multiple other videos, the pope wasn’t around until 1054. It never ceases to amaze me how otherwise intelligent catholic apologists can make such fundamental errors in regards to ecclesiology. Either they really do have a gigantic chasm in their knowledge or else they’re being deliberately dishonest.

@@pero33403 I want to believe that…but I really don’t know that I can. Someone like Scott Hahn for instance is incredibly well read and logical in his approach to apologetics. He’s also well versed in the history of the church. Has he really never come up against the forgeries? The Catholic Church has already acknowledged these things largely speaking. It just seems unfathomable to me.

What I don't understand is, if these forgeries are acknowledged, why more Catholics are not informed about them?! I was once a Catholic and I only heard about them from Kyle and Jay Dyer.

You should not listen to his videos, that are filled with errors and falsehoods. Instead, if you have doubts about any Catholic doctrine, you can ask me, and I can try to prove that each Catholic dogma is in harmony with what the early church believed. Eastern orthodoxy is clearly heretical schismatic church and one must be Catholic to be saved.

I think it's more likely it will be the Orthodox Church of the British Isles. Also, once there are enough autocephalous Orthodox Churches in the West, I think the "Eastern" prefix will become redundant. It will just be the Orthodox Church. Calling it the Eastern Orthodox Church undermines the universality of the Church, in my opinion.

@@joer9156 I agree, that would be amazing. I am not even a catechumen, but an inquirer that in nearly fully convinced that the Orthodox Church is the true Church (been a prot all my life). I hope that bringing back tradition, the true faith, veneration for saints and Mary, etc will bring the UK/ British Isles back into a better place politically, culturally and in a way that is Christ centred.

I can't believe this guy wrote a book! Talking about parochialism, within the catholic church there are national churches: the Italian, French, Spanish, German, Polish church etc.
I go to a Carpatho-Russian Church that does the liturgy in English here in the US which prayed and blessed a Pro Life March. And over half the church are converts and I’ve never met any discriminatory people here on the basis of race and ethnicity at all.
They’re fighting a Orthodox Church that doesn’t exist lol

It's amazing that Catholics have this double think with autocephalous churches.
They think that different autocelphalous churches confessing one creed, having the same theology, practicing the sacraments in the same way, and being in communion is not what one church would look like.
However, their church is one because they have a super bishop who allows various creeds, various ways of performing the sacraments, various theologies (thomism, scotism, "palamism", nestorianism, and monophysitism in some eastern catholic churches). It's a joke, clearly there are multiple different religions under the catholic "church" who are only "one" because they say they follow the pope.

Sometimes I think it would be better if every autocephalous church was referred to as “the Orthodox Church of [insert country].” Something about English makes us think the “Bulgarian Orthodox Church” is more Bulgarian than it is Orthodox, which is just not true.
What all these Catholic apologists fail to comprehend despite supposed years of looking into Orthodoxy vs Catholicism vs Protestantism is why autocephalous churches fall within ethnic lines. It was important for, say, the Romanian church to gain independence because of the sheer number of Romanian Orthodox. Constantinople could no longer meet the demands (funding, ordination of priests, etc) of the Romanian Orthodox Church in a timely manner so autocephally allowed us to take care of our own. Despite some cultural differences and any momentary “schisms” between local churches the beliefs are the beliefs and practices are the exact same no matter what church you go to. Despite RCC’s central leadership you cannot say the same about them. They have many many churches and even countries that ignore central Catholic dogma (like the filioque) and masses that are down right irreverent

In this case The Truth is in the name of the church as you said the Truth doesn't change. Is easy look up what Orthodox means. There is a reason that Roman Catholic church isn't considered as orthodox.
