      So glad you enjoyed that. :) It sometimes gets to feeling like I need to take it back to that level. It's like the videos start to get a little TOO to-the-point, and the viewers who have been with me the longest miss those more relaxing, slower-paced moments. Always trying to balance it and not swing too far one way or the other. Thank you for watching!

      Agreed! Two of my favorite clips are when you started a video about Elizabeth Cotton and when you told the story about if you're lost in the woods, just whittle away with your knife and someone will come around to tell you you're doing it wrong. I think of those two clips ALL. THE. TIME... and they make me 😃.

      I sincerely appreciate the enthusiasm for the music! :D
      Although I've sorta covered the topic before, I'm kinda wanting to do a video where we just "craft" a song from scratch (or at least not using any existing loops - just VST/instruments). The motivation behind this is because some people find the idea of making their own music daunting or overwhelming... but if CRAFSMAN can do it, I think anyone can do it! :)

    You are the Dalai Lama of Crafs. I would LOVE to see/hear a Crafsman origin story - how and where you grew up, education, meeting Crafsmama, starting to Craft, all of it. You’re a fascinating human being, I think we’d all love to know your story. That photo of the shop started me thinking 💭 “Who built that? When? Who is Crafsman, and how did he become the voice we love?” You’re special.

    One of those things I’ve always noticed, but didn’t know had a name. 🤯

    If you make you a simple honing/stropping block for your X-Acto blades… not only will they last longer, but they’ll be 10 times sharper than new. With only a few seconds of work.

      @@TheCrafsMan it’s definitely worth it, not only to keep things useful but mainly because you can get them so sharp….. they’re capable of doing things you’ve never even imagined.
      I have a Zeiss stereo microscope for my little metrology and electronics lab and repair business… So I’ve been able to examine my sharpening progress and my evolving process under that microscope for years… that way I can tweak my technique here and there to suit my needs.
      And I can confidently say that you can quickly get something several times sharper then even the best quality surgical scalpel blades!! And you can tweak the geometry/angles of the primary and secondary bevels… So that they perform better for certain tasks

      Much love! Absolutely love your content brother!!

      @trashbanditc00n 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i fully agree with your comment that his little singing about the cobbler being cute, but i gotta correct you on what a cobbler is. its closer to a pie than a cake, as cakes are usually fluffy and have icing. cobbler generally has a softer shell than a pie. and unlike how pies can vary from chocolate to apple to pumpkin to even peanut butter, cobblers are usually only fruit, most commonly peach, cherry, blackberry, or apple. there are exceptions tho! i fully recommend finding a cobbler recipe and making one yourself! they have a certain flair to them that pies dont!

    CRAFSMAN! you know you don't need old real aged wood! just slap you on some brad new wood and paint it with vinegar that has had steel wool dissolve in it. works like a charm and will make any new wood you got, into nice old looking wood.

    • @TheCrafsMan
      @TheCrafsMan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right! :D I did a video about the "sweet-n-sour" (at least that's what I heard older woodworkers call the steel wool + vinegar) mix one time but it was back in the early days of the channel. I also found that the tannins made wood react way differently. Oak would turn jet black, some woods turn green-ish, others more charcoal or gray. So I would also add in some black ink or a gray acrylic wash to help it further. :D

    Dude, you are by far my favorite TH-camr. Working with your hands, art, practical skills, AND my favorite unintentional (maybe?) ASMR. So relaxing, man.
    Just got screamed at by a customer for inflation as if it's my fault. As if the restaurant is mine, and I'm in control of the world's economy lol. So this really helped on my break haha.

    Awesome job, when I need small scale corrugated iron sheets, I use cardboard that has the corrugation in the middle. I strip off the outer layers and use the corrugated interior, paint with acrylics and weather to look rusty.

    Can't say I'd look at a shed like that and guess it'd have anything like CrafsMan's shop in it. But like so many things, it's what's on the inside that counts.

    I'm not quite sure how you do it: Even the outakes are relaxing & calming. Destress somehow. You are a blessing; thank you for all you do, TCM!

    I know it’s a lot to ask but after watching this I would love to know how you actually built your real shop. I want to build a hobby/collection shop like yours but idk where to start…and also I’m going to need that cobbler recipe! Great video as always keep up the amazing work Crafsman!!!
