Thanks bro I have a little Honda 80 and I'm about to go riding at a state park in Indiana and I'm required to run a spark arrestor as long as it looks like one that's okay haha
This is not a spark arrester. You need to not only have a USFS approved arrester but the approved system for your bike otherwise you could cause actual damage to your bike along with the risk of a $900 citation and you’ll still be required to get the correct arrester. Rangers and park aides are trained to know what is legal or not. They will not say it’s okay. Spark arrester holes should be no bigger that 0.023”
Spark arrestors are simply stainless steel meshing with a maximum surface area gap between each steel filament. If that sink mesh meets those dimension requirements then it will fulfill its purpose identically to the "licensed" one. They don't add any magic powder to the licensed ones. Just use the same materials with same dimensions and it does the same thing.
