I was wondering if since you’ve done all sorts of these deck techs for standard over the years, could you do some pioneer versions/upgrades to some of your deck techs over the years? I understand it won’t be on arena or anything but I love the deck techs you do. And it’s how I got hooked on your channel.

I'm happy to report that it works - kind of. I had to tweak it a little bit as the budget doesn't cut it but if you get four or five of the main combo pieces going it adds up very quickly. Of course I had to play against 3 life gain decks which I haven't seen for a while in the first 4 tries 🙄
I created a battlebox with your Ravnica 10 for 5 and I’ve gotten so many hours of fun from that battlebox with my kid brothers that I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work. These are going to make great additions to the battlebox
Thanks Dev! For that mono black deck, I took out the Whisper Squad, went to 4 copies of Archfiend's Vessel and added two copies of Vito. It was super sweet! Thank you for the template.
Two ideas for a future arena budget decktech: 1. Maybe an even higher focus on Wildcards in regards to cheap instead of their price tag? Just because of the known trouble of getting rare wildcards on Arena ^^" 2. Sideboards for the bo3 queues Anyway, these decks were super helpful, thank you very much!
I caught this too. Dunno why, but a lot of content creators get almost any set confused with Throne of Eldraine. And it's always Throne of Eldraine. Bewildering but true.
Why no Shatterskull Charger for the Trample deck?` And why is there no Ram Through for the Trample deck? It seems like it is better than the other removal we are running in the deck. Also, Spikefield Hazard works incredibly well in prowess. I have 3 in both my standard and Historic izzet prowess decks. As for budget prowess, a card that I have found to be extremely underrated is Raking Claws. It can cycle for 2 at the very least, but its blowout potential is insane. If there is one thing I really want to say though, it is that I'm digging the hat! Thanks for this fun video, Dev! It's glad to see you making budget decks again. I think it's because Shatterskull Charger is like a burn spell. This deck need creatures on the board. I agree I use Shatterskull Charger in mono red deck like a burn spell and then to kick it with 5 manas. It's an underratted card for me

Perfect! Been playing mtg arena, so I don't have any physical decks. But I am going to introduce a friend to mtg physically soon, and these will be perfect. I ordered 3 of them. (but they were much cheaper on card kingdom for me, maybe I don't know how to use tcgplayer, but it was going to order from a crazy amount of people, and I was going to pay through the nose in shipping) Thank you!
What's cool is Pre-Covid 19, I drafted every week. I have all of these uncommon and commons I don't use until your budget videos. The decks are great to play with your kids or casual fun.
I just got back into Arena (because of the Cube) and have eyed Constructed but I just can't justify spending a bunch of money on packs so this video is a true blessing, thank you so much! I still have a couple of Wildcards left and can craft one (or maybe two) of these decks, really makes my day ❤️

Triomes vs Temples. It wouldn't be a super long video but here's the simple breakdown of what it would be. In a two color deck it's basically preference. Scry vs Cycle is fairly comparable. One helps your early game, one helps your late game. Depending on your deck you might favor one over the other, but I would tend to prefer the early game scrying. The one thing that changes the equation is if you're running Castle lands of any sort. If there are Castles in your deck, run Triomes over Temples to help those lands come into play untapped. There may be other reasons to run Triomes, if land types matter. Dread Presence or Nissa who Shakes the World are cards that come to mind, but are no longer in current standard. Nothing immediately comes to mind in current Standard, but there may be something, and in older formats there are tons of more examples (check lands for instance).
budget decks brought me here long ago and so it's great to see them make an appearance again. I tend to buy the $5 decks and have them around to play with my son.

Recently i added Barrens to my monowhite. You can either go wide with Castle Ardenvale or tall with Barrens. This land is super strong, just the threat of activation makes opponents play suboptimally.

Bastion of Remembrance is a stellar card, and is an excellent “secret” tech in my Ghen, Arcane Weaver built around Pestillence; Bastion helps create a body to keep Pestillence and be able to activate it, can be recurred on rate, and helps boost my life to ensure when I fire off Pestillence I’ll survive. Keep up the great work. Edit: MY DUDE LOVES THE CONTROL sometimes you go through life, and come across people, and you’re like, “You- I like You” but you don’t know what it is. Sometimes when you hang in there, you might find out what it was. This was it for me
I just added 4 castle locthwains and a couple of murderous riders to the deck and it's been pretty good in free play. taking it to diamond standard now.
gud vid as usual; kutgw! i tried kargan intimidator in mono red, but found it middling as i would rather spend mana developing my board or hold up interaction. i think it would do work in a red-white warriors build though.
I appreciate the suggestions and thanks for the video, but I tried out that black devotion deck and I gotta say...I have been having some very lackluster results with it on MTGA standard unranked play. Not worth crafting imo.

@@lucasfigueroa6165 you should play formats other than standard then. Honestly standard budget is fine, as someone who's played budget decks for years and done well it's because of the rares. Even though they're cheaper than most other rares they're also usually the powerful effects on them that hold the deck together. I don't remember the format name but theres a format for decks with just commons and uncommons, you may want to try that.

Well we all know wotc is money hungry and will screw us over with cards like omnath or oko in every set. So I can see why they wouldn't have it. Makes it easier to accumulate cards for other formats and less money they make.
This series is one of my favorites, but I wouldn't buy these from TCG. Shipping will cost more than the sleeves let alone the decks. Can we get a Card Kingdom link? That does feel dirty though. Yet again, my LGS is closed right now.
how come after just a few days these decks cost between 25 and 35 dollars? I was really thinking of forcing my flatmates into magic this Christmas :) but I think I'll pass

i know these are cheap on paper. But its a bit rough on Arena. The first 3 cards alone have 7 rares

I love most of your decks but they are a pain to export into Arena. So far I've been only able by manually creating them, which is a pain.
