  • You’ve grown the corms and now it’s harvest time!
When and how should you pick Ranunculus and what is the Marshmallow stage?
In this video I explain how to cut and condition your flowers for the longest vase life.
There is more information on Harvesting Flowers available on my website.

Thank you for a very informative video! This is my first year growing Ranunculus and I'm so excited about what's coming up out of the ground so far! So it sounds like if I trim the stem at the base, like you showed, that it will then send up more new stems and continue flowering, is that right? It feels like I'm taking the whole plant away if I do that but maybe I'm not. haha Thank you!

That's correct. I'll be doing some more videos later so don't worry we can harvest them together.

Thanks so much, very useful video! It's my first time growing them this year. Some of the flowers bent in transport so I just trimmed to the nearest node thinking maybe a new stem would form, but it doesn't sound like that's the case?

No they shoot from the base, you’ll soon get the hang of them!

Do you use floral wire for the ranunculus for your wedding flowers?

So if you leave the buds on the cut stem they never open? Do they reduce vase life of the main flower? Great video, very informative

The side buds will be smaller, it’s your choice, I tend to take the whole stem and let the plants flower again x
