I can really appreciate the amount of effort you have put into this video production. The truck looks fantastic and it is well explained and of course the test driving and location is great as well. There are a lot of TH-cam channels out there that are producing masses of videos with low quality content, seemingly just producing videos for the sake or producing something. I much prefer to wait a little while and watch a high quality video that is well researched and presented. Thanks for bringing us some of the best RC content available.
Thank you so much! That is exactly my feeling. I try to deliver good quality rather than a lot of content. Unfortunately it seems that youtube doesn't honour this way, they rather promote quantity. 😢😢
How do you get these epic shots while walking alongside and low sir? I'm 6 ft 6 inches and it's painful to film like that. This is beautiful. I'd love some advice. Thanks!
@@BASHFIXREPEAT I'm not such a pro as Matteo but I reckon you need a 3-axis stabilised gimbal mount for your camera/phone for a start. Plus Matteo has been making films for years so has learnt all the best techniques to get optimum results. One of the important aspects for me is to get the lighting right as often shadows can ruin an otherwise good piece of footage. Best of luck from BlackSeaRC!
Very nice paint job, I like it. Your set up is nice too. Like the Driver too. You inspired me to put Tamiya drivers in all my rigs. I'll get one of these soon. Wish it had a 2 speed.
Great job on the truck it both looks a performs very well. Like you I think the tires are a bit too skinny but that is an easy fix. That overdrive is crazy, it is verging on a dig when the high overdrive is selected! Very cool truck and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video Matteo 👍 This new Vanquish looks very capable and well designed, and as usual your video makes me want to get one ☺️ What’s the benefit of overdrive front axle? Another great video thank you 😊
Matteo, Vanquish trucks are fun to build. They build like a Tamiya kit but with more metal parts. You do need a high torque servo for the steering. I used a Savox servo for the steering. I had problems with the shifting servos. I used cheap servos from Amazon. I was trying to set-up my cheap Amazon servos. They were stalling before I could set-up the end-point adjustments. Which makes sense. However, before I could finish my end point adjustments, the servos burned out. I installed Futaba servos instead. They were stalled too, but I was able to set-up the end point adjustments before they burned out. Futaba makes good servos. Thoughts?
Thank you for your feedback Alfred. I always set my endpoints to a minimum at the beginning. After switching on, I increase the value step by step. This way I can avoid that the servos block at the beginning. 👍😊
Front wheel over drive helps crawl/climb up and over obstacles and also helps turn sharper, too much overdrive can cause issues while side hilling. Locking the rear axle, also called "dig", basically uses the rear axle as an anchor to help you pivot around using the front wheels only.
Is your transmission loud on your phoenix? I just got done building mine a few weeks ago and the transmission seems super noisy compared to my other trucks
I'm amazed by your channel and as a beginner can only wonder...if you feel like it maybe you (or anyone) can answer something....why does my toy level tamiya rc car with a 9.6v nicd battery and 280 motor go slower than my hobby level tamiya car with a 7.2v 1500mah nimh battery and 540 motor? Shouldn't a 9.6v go faster than a 7.2v?
It depends on the motor. The 540 motor is so much bigger that the slightly higher voltage of the 280 motor does not matter. The 280 can never reach the power of the 540.
Built it, weighed it, checked out how much I was gonna have to throw away to make it a contender. Sold it. Very glad I did. Was able to afford to build a good class 1. Wich is what I thought I had bought this for.
This is fun and relaxing to watch. I've been out of the hobby since the pandemic but finally found my way back and just uploaded a video myself. I hope you guys can check it out.
Awesome clip, and the definitely one of the nicest Phoenix' out there😍😍😍 Subscribtion is done and thumbs up👍 Wemu.ch, are you also from Switzerland? Cheers from Graubünden👋
Wunderschönes Modell und super schöne Aufnahmen. 👌👍 Tolles Review-Video! 👌👍
A lovely video, as always, Matteo! I hope you enjoyed the Phoenix as much as I do!
Thanks Mat! I really appreciate your feedback! Yes, I enjoy it very much, it's a great truck! 👍😊😊
I'm always waiting for your video.
😍😍😍
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed it! 👍😊

I Love your colour scheme too! Nice to have you back Matteo. Cant wait for my Phoenix! Cheers from South Africa.
Thanks! 😊
That is the best paint scheme I have seen on any Phoenix anywhere! Excellent job, love it!
Really like the paint scheme on this and it runs nice too. Awesome video and camera work as always.
Exactly what I was going to comment. 👍🏼
Thank you very much! 😊
Thanks! 👍
The more i look at this body, the more amazed i am with it. I DIY'd a drop down bed made of Balsa Wood in my VS4-10
Hey Matteo, einmal mehr grosses Kino!

This crawler is awesome. Was thinking about a CRO1 but this looks interesting.. 👍
I have a CR01 Toyota and I also have the Vanquish Phoenix. The Phoenix is much better.

This Truck needs the thougest possibel obstacles and the roughrst trail you can find! Then it shines out and show its real performance!

Thanks for the video Matteo 👍 This new Vanquish looks very capable and well designed, and as usual your video makes me want to get one ☺️ What’s the benefit of overdrive front axle? Another great video thank you 😊
Thank you Mark. The agility on the front axle (steering) is much better with overdrive. It can also increase traction. 👍

@@Matteomeier Hello Matteo, that is probably the better to do it. I never had problems with this before. I think I will also buy better servos too.
need this in 1/6 scale
Cool video! What is the function of the front wheel overdrive? And locking the rears?
Front wheel over drive helps crawl/climb up and over obstacles and also helps turn sharper, too much overdrive can cause issues while side hilling. Locking the rear axle, also called "dig", basically uses the rear axle as an anchor to help you pivot around using the front wheels only.
@@michaelhoyle3266 didn't know that, being a novice crawler 😂 Thank you!
@@fhwolthuis You're welcome. Neither are necessary but both can add more fun trying to get over challenging obstacles.😁
Thanks! Well explained by @Michael Hoyle
Great video! But it's a pity that this time is no driving in river.
Thanks! Next time...
Hi Matteo, I have a question if you can answer me. what is the difference between the Portal and Ulta apart from the metal bridges?
looks a bit like Lancruiser ??
Yes, that's true... 👍
Can you make the front end not have any overdrive at the same time?
In the 2wd mode the front wheels are free wheeling, so no overdrive.
Hello! What paint colors did you use to paint the body?
One more sub for u love rc crawling
Is your transmission loud on your phoenix? I just got done building mine a few weeks ago and the transmission seems super noisy compared to my other trucks
Hi, friend. What lens are you using? I see a wide angle and zoom.
I think it’s different cameras. Maybe action and photo camera
Fujinion 100-300mm on a Fuji XT-4 and a Go Pro Hero 8
@@Matteomeier Why did you choose a zoom lens? Do you shoot with one hand? Do you manage the other model?
Zoom lenses offer completely different views of the model. With a zoom lens, I use the camera on a tripod.
@@Matteomeier I'm looking for a lens to use on a stabilizer I'm thinking about 17-28mm and 28-75mm What do you think is good?
