I bought a new Ranger 4x4 in either 2009 or 2010. XLT extra cab 4.0 v6 , automatic, power everything for $24,800....... NOW A RANGER IS $52,000! That's just mind-blowing. No way.... Not ever!
I had a neighbor who had to have a 2022 Full-Size Ford Bronco. He paid $15,000.00 over MSRP and then bought a second Bronco for his wife. He changed the wheels and tires on both vehicles and did a few other things that cost upward of $4,000.00 per vehicle. They want to get rid of both Broncos, tired of the noise and harshness, but nobody wants them.
Are they so thick they don't realize the wheel and tire "upgrade" are the reason for the noise and shitty ride. Pavement queens built for offroad use but never see it. My neighbor (massive douche) has a Raptor bronco, looks like a $40k vehicle at best. I mean the roof is FUCKING PLASTIC, im sorry but if you expect 100k for your products build them accordingly. i don't want to see a single piece of plastic on the entire car if the price tag is six figures.
I had a friend who really wanted me to buy the Bronco. It was OK on a test drive, but I do 80% highway driving and I live in the suburbs. And truthfully, I don't want to be that person who has a $100K off-road truck but is afraid to get a scratch in the parking lot - that fear is for my Mustang GT. A nice Mazda CX50 is in my future.
I stop consuming in the last 4 years , everything it's way too much expensive , and people around me start to doing that too . Boycott sometimes work wonderful when everybody do it
2000 Mitsubishi Montero sport. It's still not bad to work on compared to newer vehicles. I am retired and cannot afford to buy a newer car or pay to have it fixed.
You make a great point. When my kids were in Catholic school - it could have been any private school and maybe some public schools too, the mothers would begin to line up in the "pick up" area a half hour before the bell rang. It would be a line of solitary women in GIGANTIC SUVs like Expeditions and Escalades and Tahoes etc lined up, engines running, AC on, them on the phone, spewing exhaust for a full half hour before their ONE KID clambered into the back to go home. My girlfriend lived ONE BLOCK, one SMALL block, away from the school with ONE street to cross, and so started out with her 2 kids walking to school. But all the other mothers in line saw her kids, and began to gossip about how those "poor kids" had to WALK to school!!! A whole fckng block!!!! And make remarks about it and her. And eventually, it didn't take long, she stupidly bowed to it AND DROVE HER KIDS THE BLOCK TO SCHOOL!!!! I should have broken up with her the second that started. And MOST of those mothers lived in the neighborhood!!! Kids can't walk or ride bikes to school anymore???!!!! It's total madness.

I love how this guy walks the Ford lot. This is happening at all manufacturers. I knew a salesman at a Ford dealer. He had been selling Fords since the 70's up until about three years ago. He told me, while in a sales class for Ford in the 70's, that people in the future, would need up to a ten year note to buy a vehicle. They saw this coming forty years ago. Nothing gets cheaper. I'm 54. Wages never seem to keep up with inflation. Even when I bought my house twenty-five years ago, I struggled to make the payments and enjoy life. It never gets easier. I work more hours now, than I did back then.
Wages used to keep up with inflation, before people gave up their Unions. Unions used to have a Cost of Living Adjustment, Typical Annual, and Pension contributions every year. Then a whole lot of voters were convinced in the 80s that if we just give all that money to Wall Street instead somehow we all end off better.
@@denverwilliams644 Average new vehicle price is close to $50k. You can get a well equipped Bronco for that. If you want to stop hyperinflation, do so with your vote.

At 6%, 72 months, that is a $1600 monthly payment. Going to pay almost $130k for that car in the end, excluding insurance. Not worth it. Anyone that goes offroad will buy an older jeep or something and make it off road ready and its not going to cost $130k

@@ABAT58 I don't know how people around the world that live in the snow belt accept this. Maybe stainless steel for everything exposed to the roadway should be the industry standard? Throwing away your car every five years is NOT acceptable.
@ trust me we try our best. Still our current vehicle which is a 2020 Ford Ranger started getting rusts. It always starts from under the car and in about 10 to 15 years , the floor of car specially close to the driver seat will be gone.

The only thing more crazy than the price is how much value your car will lose if you try to sell it back, even if you try and do it just a year or two later.
@@feslerae And in the case of EV's you often lose even more than that. Because dealers have such an over stock of supply when it comes to EV's they don't have a lot of reason to buy used Ev's off you unless they are paying pennies on the dollar of what it is worth.

My girlfriend had a terribly unreliable 2013 Focus, and I had been paying TOO MUCH too keep it running. When it was wrecked, I told her, for low low maintenance costs, buy a roller skate. Simplicity itself. There are cars that will last for a century if well maintained that are as simple as a roller skate. Wheels, motor, no computers, that's it. Make your only indulgence the AC. But, she wound up with a Camry, which is pretty reliable, about the same year, not a bad car. A 4 cylinder.

All they had to do was take that nice looking body and put it on a basic frame with a basic 5.0 Coyote V8, and F150 components and they would have had an instant classic and hot seller.
Even that would have been close to $100K. Local dealer has a 4 x 4 F150 Lariat……$103k before tax and license. In my area that’s going to nudge it to over $110K.

You were so lucky that your used Nissan with CVT and over 150k miles on it didn’t cost you a lot of money for repairs and maintenance. I got a used minivan with only 16k miles on it and it costed me over $4k so far to get it running. From tires replacement to oil leaks, radio, mirror and AC repairs and so on.
I make $250K/yr + bonus and my two cars are a 2008 Toyota with 340K miles and a 2007 Mazda with 170K miles. I'm loving it with no car payments. The repairs and maintenance come out to $500-1000/yr, but that's a lot cheaper than $1000/mo car payments with high insurance.

As a Wrangler owner I can tell you this. These are lifestyle vehicles. You buy and drive a jeep because you love jeeps. I think the same goes for a bronco. But the bronco is advertised as this nice luxury commuter friendly 4x4 which it is but only if you understand just like a wrangler it’s a 4x4 brick you’re taking down the highway at 75 mph. My cousin has a big bend and we joke all the time about how much we’ve spent on gas this week, but we’re both fans of the 4x4 community and have no other complaints and just accept that that’s what it comes with. Downside is I don’t think the Bronco Community is the same as the Jeep community where we encourage each other to “Take it out and play with it”
Ford Edge never sold because it was so expensive. Happens again and again with Ford. Release all types of vehicles then price them too high and wonder why they don't sell. What they need to do right now with all models; strip them down and get the price way, way down. Sub $20k vehicles would be selling 100,000+ units per model. The fleet of vehicles on the roads right now is high mileage and worn out.
You vote with your dollars. I picked up a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 for $1800. I put a 4” lift kit 33” tires, new rims, steel bumper, winch, roof rack, lights, snorkel, new A/C, new cooling system plus a bunch of other stuff. Honestly I probably have about $7000 into the build. I also do all the work on it, so the labor costs is zero. It’s get 15 mpg with a 4.7 V8. I daily drive it because it’s fun and I love the way it drives. So many people waste a crap ton of money on these new vehicles. Great video thanks for sharing.
I sold Ford as a sideline when I worked at a Ford-Honda dealer many years ago. Great product line, good value, you could buy a V6 Taurus for 12k, a Ranger for 14k. I drove a nice Crown Vic, smooth as silk and purchased nearly new for 16k. Today, they all drive these F150s with open exhaust or an Explorer with some kind of dual exhaust to make a racket. Must have gigantic payments. At least a Mustang I was following last night was fairly quiet. But another one in my neighborhood requires ear plugs if you get too close. There will be a lot of deaf, broke m-fers when this is over. Farley, you are insane. I hope you enjoy your $7 million salary. The stock holders of this fiasco are getting nothing.
I had one on order for a little over a year, but fatigued by the delays and run-around, I canceled my order. In hindsight, it looks like I may have dodged a bullet. While it still turns by head when I see one on the roads (especially the 2 door model), I think I am much happier in my 5 year old4 Runner.

My brother's wife did that. Talked him into building a one million dollar home, and the ink wasn't even dry on the closing when she told him she wanted a divorce.

A few years ago I sold all my vehicles (kid's vehicles included) and bought all Toyotas. We will drive them till they can't go anymore. So hopefully I'm set for at least 10-12 years
My 2008 Toyota Highlander has 340K miles. The engine and transmission still run like new. I have to put in around $500-1000/yr in repairs for parts wearing out lately, but that's better than paying $1000/mo in car payments. I just sold my 2013 Toyota Camry SE to a family member who needed a car. It had 190K miles and ran like new. I figure it should last him another 10 years. My local ford dealer has had the same 15 broncos for about a month parked out front by the main road. They recently put a bunch of F150s and 250s out front and moved the broncos behind the trucks. I have a 79 bronco that I paid a thousand bucks for 20 years ago. I have restored it during this period of time and it serves my purpose as a weekend toy. If something breaks on this, at least I can fix it easily and for cheap.
As a guy who drives a 19 year-old 4x4 truck that is well maintained I hear ya’. But I see a ton of these things on the road. Somebody (lots of somebody’s appearantly) sees the value in them. Keep in mind that a 1/2 ton pick-up much above the white contractor model can exceed 50k going right up to 80k MSRP.

Out of curiosoty we went and looked at a bronce a couple weeks ago. The fact they had a base model for 38k was ok, but then it jumped in price. Problem is, base models you cant get a v6, you cant add any options. You have to get into a heritage or a higher model. And in all cases you are paying 65 to 72k. Even my wife who really wanted one because it looks cool, said meh pass. She looked at it this way. I bought a used macan s, for less than a new bronco, and the quality, speed and ride is so much more and fun to drive. We own offroad machines so she only wanted a bronco to drive on the streets. The bronco prices need to come down by about half what they are, same with jeeps.
These companies want to make the maximum profit in the shortest time. But hitching your wagon to luxury trims and gas guzzlers is a dangerous game. All it takes is an economic slowdown or oil price hike and it’s lights out. Buyers for $65k SUVs can dry up real quick when things go south. But if the companies are structured around selling $65k vehicles, switching to $25k cars is near impossible.
I only owned 2 cars. Both used "beaters". First one I paid $950.00 for a 1982 Monte Carlo in 1987. I drove it until it was almost dead then sold it for $1,800.00 in 1995. Second was a 1989 Grand Marquis. Purchased in 1995 for $3999.99. I'm still driving it. 235,000 miles. The money I would have spent on "new" cars has been doubling and tripling in an index fund. I'm looking forward to a very comfortable retirement.
I buy my vehicles about 5 years old. The biggest depreciation has already hit and they are still very much like new unless really abused. A low mileage example can be had for about half the original price or less. I just picked up a 2020 Volvo S60 R design, a car that cost over 50k new... for $26,000. It only has 20,000 miles on it.
I bought my Toyota Tundra 2005 used in 2006 with only 6000 miles on it for $25,000 cash. My fear was I was missing something and it was too good to be true. Now, 18 years later I know it was the best vehicle I have ever owned and it is still going strong. No payments, ever.
So many people can get credit to get a nice car, that almost none mean anything to anybody anymore. I will be damned if I spent almost 100k on a car/truck and nobody even looked over at the car.
Just go to one of the repo channels and see what the houses and apartments look like that these expensive cars are being repo'd at. Loose credit is not the same as being able to afford something.
I really thought the Bronco was going to seriously sell well but then I saw the prices. Ford missed the boat on this vehicle, which had a lot of promise as a jeep competitor…
Im convinced what dealers did during the pandemic is going to mess the market up until 2030. It's not that crazy to think about. How much negative equity people have, interest rates, shortage of decent used cars. Crazy Recalls etc.
I used to love cars, and I have a 2020 Gladiator that cost $42,000 when new. Well, the engine failed at 110,000 miles this past June - yes I do a lot of driving, but also keep my vehicle very well maintained, regular oil changes, etc. Nevertheless, the new engine cost $10,000, parts and labor. I begrudgingly keep the revived Jeep; it is a fun vehicle to drive on the beach, and it functions well as a mid sized pickup. I’ll never buy new again, though. New car and especially truck prices are insane. I’m planning to buy an old Camry as my beater to reduce mileage on the Jeep.
I think your estimate that vehicle prices are 40 percent higher than they should be is spot on. My rule of thumb for the past few years was 30 percent over-priced but with inflation due to the rampant money printing the price is now 40 percent over-priced. I'll keep driving my 10 year old SUV.
I don't think its because they're junk. I think it's because those with the income to buy a new car, bought one. Now the dealerships are full of cars no one can afford.
That's one part of it, another is they stopped building all of their cars to focus on selling everyone an SUV because that was where the market was headed. While working I bought pretty much all my vehicles from Ford, I'm 72 now and quite honestly they make nothing now that I would be interested in, they seem to be competing against themselves with all these SUV models.
That is crazy! I bought my Bronco brand new in 2022 for $28,500 before only a few small extras. I did get the modular front bumper, roof rails, aux switches, and block heater.
I’m shocked at all new car prices today. I’m not poor at all, I make a well above average salary. But 60k+ is such a huge amount of money, there’s so much I could do with that money or invest it. I love cars, but I continue to drive my old Honda Accord which works perfectly fine and I’m saving a fortune
Yet people are paying the money. They wouldn't be charging it if people weren't giving it. People have so much money nowadays! I have a 2014 Nissan frontier. I paid for it about what that one vehicle you showed had in options. 16 grand. Works amazing.
You know what they say about opinions…. I have a ‘23 Bronco and I love it. No, I don’t take it off road and haven’t even towed with it yet. 55k for a Bronco is expensive but everything is today. You purposely used heavily equipped examples priced at the top of the range. A rav 4 today is 40k and a new Tacoma is over 55k as well. Bronco sales have slowed as to be expected in the 4th year of production. I’m glad the Bronco exists and to say they’re on selling “at all” is completely disingenuous. Then you cap it with, “you could buy a house for this”. Please let us know when you sell all your new cars and what kind of a beating you take doing so.
The problem is the people who pay the ridiculous markups. I ended up paying 40k for a fully loaded 2024 Rav4 hybrid for my wife but it took me nearly 6 months to find it last year. Most dealers wanted 50k+. People just need to look to find good deals.
My daughter traded her ‘23 Bronco in on a Toyota when she was notified to park it outside for fear of it burning itself down and no remedy for it by Ford. I am glad you love yours while parking it away from everything! Cheers! And I have been a Ford guy for 60 years.
My 2004 Lincoln Town Car is better built and put together than your modern car. I wouldn't own a current Ford product for anything in the world. Chintzy. Cheap. Badly designed and put together. In other words, absolute garbage.

I live in a small beach town and I noticed a lot of people are just buying those old used Kei Trucks (Keitora mini trucks) from Japan. They are simple and will last forever. Even the tires are super cheap. In Japan they are only 2500 dollars used. But by the time they are imported here, they can be up to 6K or so. But saves you 38K over a new car here.
The cost of everything is up right now in fairness…that being said I recently just purchased a 24 Badlands way below MSRP, while Ford tries to clear inventory it is a good time to buy.
2019 F350 Super Duty 6.7. Fortunately under warranty the upper oil pan developed a leak, they had to pull the transmission to get to it. The A/C has gone out twice, once under warranty and once not. Sometimes when I start it the fuel system makes funny noises, the DEF tank usually freezes up in the winter time and the fuel gelled on me one time, now I just leave it running in the coldest weather 24 hours a day to keep from having it towed and spending a grand to get it thawed out. While it was gelled up blocking the good car in the garage, I drove the 95 Taurus with 400k on it because it started right up on a -10 degree morning and drove and worked fine. A 75k vehicle and my 05 F250 6.0 never had any of these problems. Fords quality has definitely gone down hill. Don’t know if I’ll ever purchase a new one again, and I’m a Ford man!
You'd be CRAZY to purchase ANYTHING new these days. I have a 2007 Mercedes-benz and a 2012 Lexus, both purchased for much less than half price, and they are like new cars. They want to get rid of both Broncos, tired of the noise and harshness, but nobody wants them.

A bicycle? A scooter? Skateboard?
Why care so much about what other people want to drive? Why does it bother U so much?
Treatment and medications could help.
Why are U hanging out near the expensive millennial restaurant?
Should other people be concerned about that?

You mention one of the biggest problems. Buy an expensive car and find out the wife had a divorce planned. Now, the expensive car is a boat anchor.
My brother's wife did that. Talked him into building a one million dollar home, and the ink wasn't even dry on the closing when she told him she wanted a divorce.
@@ralphholiman7401 That's what women like to do to screw you over
Not sure I get the scam here. Sell the house and split the equity? It’s the same as if they’d divorced without building it, except the money is in the house instead of cash
Love is grand, divorce is a hundred grand.
@ It doesn’t work that way in Divorce. The first thing the attorneys say is “everything remains the same financially” … so if you have a private jet 🛩️, use of that jet is supposed to remain the same.
In my case, I bought a $2.4 million dollar yacht and a $5 million house when I learned about the pre planned divorce.
It cost $10 million to unwind.
I haven't bought a new vehicle since 1994. I can buy used, let someone else take the big hit and drive til the wheels fall off. Spent a hell of a lot less money
Well, the birds have the right idea. 😂
If you can only keep your Toyotas running for 10-12 years, you're doing something wrong.
@@safeandeffectivelol what if you put around n 30-40k miles a year on them? Well that's what we due to the very rural area we live in. So yup, if I can get 10-12 good years out of them, I'm good
2022 and 2023 Tundra owners chime in!
@@jdub929 Rural driving is easier on the cars. They should last longer unless you're using them to haul stuff.
I bought a 2006 Tacoma base model extended cab 4 cyl 14 years ago for $9500 with 70k miles. It has 249k miles on it now and I can probably sell it for more than I paid for it. I recommend buying older Toyota or Honda cars from private party long term owners, put a few $ in them from time to time and save loads of money.
I like the Broncos, but would never spend even close to what they want for one. Still getting around in my 06 GX 470 just fine.
Apparently the rest of the country is far wealthier than I am. CEO's and shareholders/stocks will be the destruction of everything.
Spot On Brother! I parked my 2017 Superduty due to sky high insurance and registration in California and now redriving my 2000 7.3 Excursion with basic liability only insurance. Tired of being fuc..d!
Your main problem is living in the other country called California. A liberal hole.
NOT having a nice car is now the flex, like "look at how much that guy is saving"
Just go to one of the repo channels and see what the houses and apartments look like that these expensive cars are being repo'd at. Loose credit is not the same as being able to afford something.
If you're buying a car for the flex, or for the attention is the wrong reason to buy a car. (or anything for that matter)
If people would stop buying expensive vehicles then they would stop making them. So who's fault is it.???
they have stopped buying and the carnage will be pretty bad. i predict stellantis will file for bankruptcy in the not too distant future
I think so many manufacturers had the attitude that if they built it, people would buy it. That attitude got them pretty far in the past.
I love it when people tell me about how great body on frame is for their grocery hauler.
60K on the right stock can be 300 before you know it.
Fools and suckers are born every minute :)

I have a 2002 Toyota Highlander. Regular oil changes, and still running great. Plan to buy 2026 Toyota RAV4 phev.

Live in Colorado….. these things are awesome. And as prices normalize they just get better. We have a jeep and absolutely love it
Hi 👋 i just went into Ford dealership near me thinking i might get a good deal now.Not even close they would budge on Anything!! And add on’s were added in Fines,Fee’s. Dealership Costs making a New Bronco $196,660 Thats just Insane! They told me my 2007 Toyota Prius with 325,025 miles was worth Nothing.I told them it still runs great and gets the same gas mileage as when I bought it new and they didn’t care.I guess they like looking at their same Cars and Trucks Everyday when they come to work..
shop used. I got a 2000 Tundra SR5 v6 150k for $7000. this thing in it's current condition will outlast any of that junk on that lot. My Wife drives a 2016 CRV. Bought used in 17, 186k on it. drives like new. WHen it goes, I will go out an get another used Honda or Toyota. No more American cars for me.
Inflation hasn't only made food expensive.
Just like the housing market, everything‘s overvalued at this time.
You'd be CRAZY to purchase ANYTHING new these days. I have a 2007 Mercedes-benz and a 2012 Lexus, both purchased for much less than half price, and they are like new cars. I purchase all my high-end audio equipment used, and it's all half price or cheaper. So glad stupid people feel the need to 'keep up with the Jones', and buy the latest thing. I just swoop in and grab their 'old' for cheap.

Property is free and clear and I have more side gigs then I need most are barter type gigs for food veggies.
I just don't understand where people got this kinda money to spend on a car...my newest is an 2007 Ford Ranger and a T100 Toyota pickup that i bought for $4000 with 170k on it, and now have 358k, and i use both to pay the bills cleaning pools, and i regularly see other guys in the business driving 85k dollar trucks...go figure
My 4x buddy is a 97 Lexus lx450 (fj80 Toyota). 265,000 almost all original miles. When you’re bronco breaks down or gets stuck in the snow, give me a call. I paid 6500 12 years ago. There wasn’t even ONE recall fix on this in the last 27 years.
Paid cash for a new 2023 Bolt EUV, $22,500 total. It meets my needs. Buy a car that meets your needs, not your wants.
It's a shame the Bolt is no longer made. Hopefully the upcoming new version will not be tricked out with higher prices.

Four years ago I bought a 1996 F250 4x4 with 90k miles on it. It now has 95k miles on it, and I spent a few thousand dollars fixing a few issues and upgrading the sound, but it is rock solid and I love driving it. I have not loved anything from Ford since 1997.

I have been a rural mail carrier for 23 years and I have found the only vehicle that I deliver my 70 mile route out of is my 2010 Ford ranger super cab with the v6….hell it holds up it’s easy to work on it takes a beating I’ve owned three jeeps, and all three of them were pieces of shit that repairs were needed all the time just junk But my ranger which is my second ranger owned is a mule, a workhorse, and I have proven that over and over again….. I am near retirement and I have decided that this truck is my last truck almost 200,000 miles and it’s still rolling and when it’s time to replace the engine and transmission I will do both because I have no desire to own the pieces of garbage that are made now
My 1998 Saturn is running just fine. I've owned (pre-2000) Fords and Chevys, and was really happy with them. But the modern Ford is typically a hick-driven quad cab durmax diesel, chipped and "rollin' coal" to make the air filthy. I'd never by another Ford product in my life.
These vehicles aren’t for the poor, if you can’t afford buy a used Honda Acord. The rest of us will have fun with our toys. Stop being jealous of other people that have more money than you,
You really have missed the point. What he is saying, really clearly, is not just that these vehicles are expensive, but that they are not worth the money. Spending that kind of money on a piece of junk does not make sense. Jealousy is not part of the equation.
