Aside from the knowledge, which is better than bad and probably hovering around the excellent range, the end of this video is a great example of another aspect that makes your videos really valuable - no Akai ball licking. The honest info of strengths and weaknesses in these plugins is really helpful, much more so than what is out there in the over-caffeinated yes man videos youtube is a bit oversaturated with. Cheers once again Conan!
I appreciate all your videos brother! Very professional...I love your take as an older beat maker. I'm 53 and have been into rap and hip hop since it's inception.
So did I, instead of RC20, this is much more subtle. I have Digitalis for harsh effects. And an MPC 2500 through an SP 404 mk2 for everything in between.
Very cool. I’ve used it successfully in any genre that has “wave” in the title (modifying the VHS patch is fun) as well as grubby house and nasty acid tracks.
Yeaaah this was helpful. I went ahead and grabbed Flavor Pro on sale. I actually like it a lot more than basic Flavor. I definitely use the more intense version of the lofi sound on a lot of stuff haha. Definitely felt like the sale price is worth it. Had to grab Stage Piano/EP, but I gotta be honest, I don't think they're worth the full price at aaaalll haha. I have to run them through Flavor Pro to really happy with them in a mix. Maybe I'm being nitpicky and unfair comparing them to my Korg Nautilus, though haha.
@TheCratesMotel i have question where should I start when wanting to learn Mixing & Mastering? (EQing, Compression ect.) I see you started a series but I need A 101 course🤣😂🤣....I am Clueless
@@DJL609 that’s a tough one to answer in one paragraph mate to be honest. TH-cam is definitely your friend, but I understand how daunting it can be and how difficult it is to sift through the crap to get to the good stuff.
@@DJL609 probably important to make sure you have some good, balanced headphones and/or monitors. They don't have to be wildly expensive either, but balanced is probably key (and most headphones aren't very balanced in their frequency range). Without that, even with the best teacher you may find it a struggle - try stabbing your eardrum and mixing a track (please don't).
TDK metal.....indeed hifi on a decent deck. And I don't give a F if it doesn't sound like a real MPC 60, no one hears that in a final mix. Wow and flutter is also present in turntables as well, especially with warped records. My record on this was in the 1970s a Stones record on which the arm took flight. There is a phone timbre in the plugin btw. If I use a vinyl emulator I resample the original sample with 33 or 45 vinyl noise and scratches. That is what I would have gotten taking the Technics and a record.
DONT STOP! until you cover EVERY SINGLE PLUGIN! WE NEED YOU! ❤
Haha I am working on it mate
@JBWozEre96 you’re the second person who has asked this in 24hrs
Me too 🎉❤

Thanks mate. 52 here. It’s our job to keep those old methods alive and keep things real.
Picked it up on the recent sale! Excited to dive in to this one!
Perfect timing for me having just taken advantage of the Black Friday Sale 2024. Thanks again, Conan!
