I don't think I've ever paid full price for an MPC plug in 😂 now is the time to buy em. I agree 100% with the point regarding minimoogs / minimoog plug ins. I learned how to use a synth with one of those plugins. Best for beginners 100%
I have the Model D and I love it. I think I’m gonna get the Air Flavor Pro as well. Also, I’m so glad you said what you said about people bitching about things not sounding exactly like (fill in the blank). There are too many variables that make up the final sound. That’s why I never understood the uproar last year about converters and whatnot. I bet if you had two MPC 3000s they won’t sound exactly the same. I’m a guitarist and I know amps and guitars all sound different. You always tell the truth Conan.
Exactly mate. I tried to explain to people last year during the "Converters War" that it's not just the converters, it's a whole bunch of things that make up the sound, but nobody wanted to listen. They just wanted to buy EASki Converter drums.
great video, and I definitely believe that you look after your kit, and everyone elses' kit meticulously! Another 10% off at air today :) Almost missed my imminent buys there due to obsessive filterbank tinkering 🤣
Thank you! I recently got an MPC Live II and needed exactly some recommendations to expand its sonic capabilities. Just got all 5 of them, perfect timing!
I own all those and have still barely scratched the surface with them, of course nice to grab them in a sale but the way I look at it if your putting in hours on the Mpc then they are going to be worth your investment in the long run. So much creative potential in one box 🎧
Great review! Picked up Jura and Mini D yesterday! I would really love it if Akai made a 303 emulation for the MPC with a step sequencer with the ties and slides to give it that rubbery feel
I just got the MPC X SE and was able to snag these plugins on sale this week. I’ll be glad to stop putting $ into the MPC, but now I do feel I can cover all the sonic territory I want to in just my MPC. I was hesitant about the MPC, but it really seemed like the type of workflow I wanted so I took a leap. It’s far exceeded all my expections. Most of all in sound quality. I’ve been shocked by how good it sounds. I’m selling off all my other hardware aside from the S2400. I may sell that too but it will be the last to go.
Couple of things. 1.Air Delay pro is underrated. 2.If you can wait untill Cyber Monday you probably should for even better prices. 3. Air instruments is giving away free new filter plugin only this weekend! Grab it while you can. Plugin works for standalone mpc.
1.It's obviously subjective. I am not a big fan to be honest. I can do most of what it does already in the default delay plugins in the MPC, but I can see why some people are really digging it. I activated the trial and tried it out, but didn't buy it in the end. 2.Yes good shout, although as far as I am aware, Akai are not dropping their prices any further. 3.Exactly, also a good shout. Unfortunately there seems to be quite a few issues with it. Not just the plugin itself, but the fact that half of the people I have spoken to have not been able to download it on their MPC as it is not showing up in their Activations List. Hopefully Akai will sort this out in the next day or so. I have managed to register it, but it won't download on either of my MPCs haha
@@TheCratesMotel after registering you need to activate it in the inmusic software center. On your mpc you need to then logout and back in and it should appear in your list.i just did it. Also why i said the delay pro is because it brings some dubby delay goodness like a re202. By far the best delay for standalone imo.
@ yeh I tried all the activating options etc and all the logging out stuff. It’s actually their servers. They are rolling it out by regions starting with the US, then Europe then Asia. I just spoke to a friend who works for Akai. Basically they can’t keep up with the demand on their servers lol
Out of those I only needed the Opx-4, which I was waiting for to go on sale as I didn't think it was worth £150, I have all the other plugins. What do you think of the new plugin the Multiband Filterbank? hoping you'll do a video on it at some point.
I’m still trying to get it to download mate. I’ve registered it, it’s in my account, but not showing in my Activations list on my MPC yet 🤷🏼♂️. Yeh OPx4 is worth it in the sale but not worth the full price (in my opinion).
OPx4 oh yeah, modulation fun. Did you know you can automate the FX controls that do have a purple ring around them? That adds a lot. They could do better but that's quite nice.
Those prices are silly. Sold my Juno 106, Alpha Juno, dx11, dx21 etc over the last 15 years. was just about to Splurge £500 on a Deepmind. Thanks for the upload, will give the jura and opx.
I will definitely cover it except for the major issue I have is that it won’t show up on my plugin list despite being registered in my inmusic account haha. As soon as I can actually download it, I’ll cover it. Cheers.
Today a new plugin dropped on mpc store , mutiband filter bank. And for the next 2 days you can claim it for FREE !! After that its $99. Realy suprised they did that , instead intro price . I hope they make a vocal plugin 1 day , something like distant voices/background singers. Not the typical choir , aa , ee oo stuff
@TheCratesMotel i assume after you played around with it we can expect a video of it , maybe ? 🙏 Kinda know what it does but dont know how it realy works and how to aply.
I hadn’t ever considered the plug-ins until I got a One+ which came with the free one. At that point I got the Jura. The current prices are pretty amazing if you want to add to the sonic arsenal of the MPC. I may have accidentally popped Mini-D, Opx, Flavour Pro (never fully appreciated until recently) and Sub Factory, and then compounded one error with another and accidentally paid for them. 😂. I had just started a new track so would be bad form not to at least use them.
That's exactly the plugins I was planning to get! However, there's one thing I'm wondering: wouldn't it be better to purchase the entire MPC Instrument Collection instead of buying the OPx-4 separately? It’s included in the collection, along with Fabric XL, Stage Piano, and many other instruments-and it’s currently 70% off.
Yes that would probably make more sense if you feel you would have use for the others. Just be careful you don't get drawn into that whole "Buy this bundle for this amount" and then you only end up using one of the plugins. I have done it too many times haha
@@TheCratesMotel Haha yes I'm guilty of that as well.. I don't really know if I need Fabric XL. I tried the trail and I remember that it was very slow when loading presets. Do you use Fabric XL?
@@TheCratesMotel Man. I haven't seen a "Crate Digging in Dubai" video yet. Is there a reason for this? Are there spots to get vinyl? That's just wild to know you are in Dubai. Is there a Hip-Hop community there?

Actually those were solid picks. Broke my budget in hardware this year and got most all of the MPC plugins already.
Nice mate.
Excellent overview and REAL TALK about people and their views on hardware. Jura and Mini D are indispensable if you got an MPC.
