    Thank you so much for this documetary The two wives Chief Mrs H.I.D Awolowo and Mrs Faderera Akintola played a major role in the fallout. There is reliable source that at one point both men settled the fallout but Mrs Awolowo sent her husband back to Chief Akintola to tell him that" Mama said the fight is not over,it has just started. So sad situation. In the end there were no winners. Both lost their children in terrible circumstances🙏

      The mudunmudun of the coca-cola deal don sweeten Mama HID. That's why she didn't want to let go. Both men were intelligent and really wanted development of the Western region, but they had different political idealogy. People talk a lot about infrastructures built by Awo, Akintola also did a lot. Sarduana fueling it also didn't help the matter.

      Yeah right, because men cannot make bad decisions without there being a woman in their ear. This is how anecdotes and urban legend become taken as gospel truth. Also bringing in the passing of their sons as correlation? This is so absurd.

    • @hakeemakanbi4762
      @hakeemakanbi4762 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      But was there an agreement that the wife to the premier of the western region had to also be the major distributor of the coca cola products, I mean was it in the constitution?
      I would have thought it's a personal deal between Awolowo's wife and coca cola.
      I might be wrong but what do you think?@@seuna.8438

    A very good and commendable efforts. Iwe Iroyin was published in 1859. There were few inaccuracies. Akintola went on scholarship to UK to train as journalist in BBC. He completed that before reading Law. The Nigerian Bar was not yet established in1949. A very good job.

    I don't want to hear the word "Nationlist" as there are no nationalsts in Nigeria. We never have nationlists and we don't need them to resolve Nigeria's consitutional problems. We need tribalists to solve Nigeria's problems . Every tribe is important and so are all their interests and the only way forward for Nigeria is to allow all tribes to bring all their problems , concerns to the round table and lets negotiate a constitution that is acceptable to every tribe .

    Every region in Nigeria has what it takes to be progressive and successful. Was just talking to a colleague now and he mentioned how lithium was very much going to be a needed raw material in the foreseeable future. We have that in abundance in Northern Nigeria. Northern leaders should study the recent tax bill and key into it. Development doesn't ever come from staying in our comfort zones. God bless Nigeria.

When Chief Akintola was killed in his residence, the opposition hired Tatalo Alamu who sang 'Ni ice lo wa, ni ice lowa, baba lamilami doku Eko, ni ice lo wa o' Baba Lamilami was Chief S L Akintola' s nickname. The greatest mistake of Awolowo was leaving that Premier seat. He could have acted like Sardauna, send someone to the Federal as opposition and keep making impact on your people in the Western region. Premier of regions have more influence on their people than the Prime Minister. In fact, Sardauna was the one controlling Tafawa Balewa.
    The fight between both of them was just a clash of ideologies. Sarduana loved Akintola and believed forming a coalition with him would be the best, especially seeing how the first coalition with Azikwe NCNC played out where the Easterners took over everywhere and didn't remember they formed a coalition with some people to gain Federal power. Awolowo and Sarduana did not like each other cos he believed a coalition with the Eastern region would be the best, which he wanted the first time but Azikwe changed the plan and went with the North.

    • @GboladeFabusuyi1
      @GboladeFabusuyi1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sardauna loved Zakinthos for pure political reason, nothing more. The duo of Tafawa Balewa and Sardauna saw the crack in the west as an opportunity to create an inroad into South Western politics and divide/subjugate the region politically . The reason why many Yorubas disagreed with Akintola

    • @seuna.8438
      @seuna.8438 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ Sarduana has always been skeptical of the union. The main reason was domination. He's always afraid that the level of wealth and education in the South wld mean the North would serve the.South forever. Did you know as at the time of independence discussion, the whole Northern region has just one graduate. It's one of the reasons Sarduana thought we are not ready for independence. Azikiwe also didn't help the matter in the first republic. The Easterners took over almost every Federal jobs, including in the Western region. You know they suppose to share the reward of the coalition together with the North. That's when Sarduana thought he has to redo his political calculation.
      Maybe if the first republic had given Sarduana confidence that the union wld be fair, maybe there won't be a need for Sarduana trying to align with Akintola and disrupt the Western region peace. Maybe there won't be a need for military takeover.
