Amen Jason! I have been thinking the same. Especially this past year. So much deeper than politics. And I keep seeing more and more people like this woman who claim to be a child of God. They are doing the devil's work trying to discredit Christians and in reality, trying to discredit Christ while being deceived thinking they follow Him. I'm heartbroken to see so many people claim to be Christian who aren't and don't deny themselves and follow Jesus. They don't read the scriptures nor hunger for it, and they don't love and worship God they only serve themselves and their desires. I used to be pro-choice when I was much younger, but I never really looked into it too much. I just liked the idea of women having choice. The more and more I look into it as an adult the more ashamed I am of that view. The more I listen to debate, the more holes I see in the pro abortion side. The people opposing the pastor in his videos are almost ALL inconsistent, incoherent and almost always fall back onto chants or screams or name-calling. They just cannot answer his questions. His work is so good!! Bless his soul. I hope I get to meet him one day. I am a South African but I will be in USA this August. Really looking forward to first world problems lol

I'm sorry to hear that you no longer believe women should be able to chose what happens to their body. Choice is freedom. Understand, pro choice is not pro abortion. I do not believe anyone should have an abortion. I've participated in an abortion of my child and I regret it every day. I regret it because I have two children and I realize I didn't give a life a chance. A pregnancy left alone and barring natural occurring events that can end a pregnancy, the pregnancy will produce a live.
The thing is, in a free society, if one is to respect and advocate for the freedom of all, the only option is choice. If one disagrees with everything another believes is true, the only way the two can live together is rule of law and choice.

We live in a system of laws. The Constitution of the US is the law of the land and the first amendment of the constitution insures freedom of and from religion so no laws can be passed for or against religion. In short, I have the freedom to not believe as you believe.
Not acceptable to you? Well in a constitutional democratic republic you can act to change the law. You can run for office yourself. If you don't want to run, you can get together with like minded people, elect like minded people to office who will change the law as long as they are constitutional.
We have laws that lay out what murder is. We even have different levels of murder. If a deviant murderous crazy person kills someone, there are law on the books to handle that.
I'm curious, lets say the abortion laws are changed and abortion becomes murder, what should the punishment be? A fine? 20 years to life? Death?
Who should get punished? The woman? The man? The one who performs the abortion at the man or woman's request? All involved?
Will there be an agency established to monitor pregnancies and insure they go to term? Will a woman be required to report a pregnancy. What happens to the woman if she doesn't report the pregnancy? What if a woman has a miscarriage? Will she be subject to investigation after the loss of a wanted child? What will that investigation involve? An intrusive medical examination?
Will there be mental health programs for women who are forced to carry a rapist baby to term? Will suicide prevention organizations be funded to handle the increase in depression?
Who pays for the inevitable increase in foster care?

Secondly, this has nothing to do with religion. Abortion is the murder of an unborn human being. And abortion is illegal in so many parts of the world, including India, where I'm from.
I'm not saying abortion should be legally equated with murder. I understand that abortions are very often done in situations where the mother is in a very difficult place. I used murder simply as an example of a crime that we all agree should be punished. As to who should get punished, that depends on the case. Sometimes the woman, sometimes the man, sometimes a person who forced the parents to abort their baby. Always the clinic that does the procedure. And while there are special provisions for murders with severe mental issues, any competent criminal psychologist will tell you that crime is usually the product of a disturbed mind.
Of course, criminalising abortion isn't easy. Making it legal will go so much smoother. There are so many things that have to be addressed that cannot be possibly be summed up with a comment on TH-cam. But very often it takes a lot of work and figuring out to do a little good.
It definitely doesn't need to be a black and white law. For example, in my country, there are provisions that allow women who were raped to have the baby aborted if it is under a certain stage of development.

@@wylier Sure, but since Jeff is Christian, we have reason to believe that Jeff would give grace, too. It would be wrong to implement that kind of legislation with a death penalty as punishment tomorrow, for example. Kind of like how if we suddenly banned guns in the US, it would take some time to collect the arms from law-abiding citizens, and it would be wrong to throw these citizens in jail for possession while they were in the midst of surrendering their rifles and stuff.
I think Jeff is promoting the idea that in a just society, abortion would be recognized as evil as someone unrepentantly killing a three year old. You wouldn't let those kinds of monsters walk around freely, so if abortion was rightfully recognized in our society as the murder of children, women who were pro-abortion would end up with the same sentence as other child-killers. Jeff is fighting for that kind of society, but there's a laundry list of things to do before we as a society can rightly and truly arrive there.
@@toniduval4350 all it would take would be a national statute against abortion. There's not enough support for that to be a likely scenario, tho. Secondly, not all Christians are opposed to the death penalty.

I would say _The_ Elohim, as the word "elohim" means spiritual being, and doesn't directly translate to God, though the word "God" is used appropriately in the scriptures for the most part, just not the context of when God takes counsel among the "gods" and such, it would be accurate to translate "gods" with a little ‘g’ as spiritual beings, or angelic beings 🤷🏻♂️.

I dont know that punishing the women that abort their child would be productive. From what I have seen the act is punishment enough for most. I have a sister in law who struggles with the guilt to this day over something she did 30 years ago. I hate abortion. There is no reason for abortion. Though this act maybe best left between God and the woman.

No it doesn't and Jesus said in regards to "eye for an eye" from the Old Covenant law, "BUT I TELL YOU."
He also said leave vengeance up to Him and that condemnation and judging of others is not for us to do.
As for punishment they can keep murderers in prison for life, but as for death we are not to make that call.

Under this Covenant we are to show Love, Mercy, and Forgiveness to everybody including our enemies.
Jesus taught we are to pray and do good for others.
We are not to judge condemnation on others and we are not to hold the written law over their heads.
Again as I said before Jesus and Paul both taught in the manner in which you judge others you to will be judged in that same manner.
So if you go around condemning others then that will be your fate as well.

What pearls as Jeff Durbin in his response was spewing Old Covenant law and support of the death penalty which is false.
We are not under the Old Covenant law, and Jesus addressed the eye for an eye showing we are not to live by that anymore.
Punishment and condemnation is not for us to hand out and judge others by.
You can only be under New Covenant law if you are saved

They don't literally want women killed, they are making it a point that it is something that does not please God, it is murder and sin. We all deserve the death penalty because the wages of sin is death and all have fallen short of the glory of God. But God is rich in mercy and mighty to save. To point out sin is to point out a need for a savior
Unfortunately most people aren't convinced to change firmly held beliefs by logical reasoning.
