This is beyond fascinating. I continually attempt to describe ec to new moms but because I'm not a mom...forget that I've helped raise so many children to adulthood, that it's mind boggling but I do not know what I'm speaking to...ok, I know...absolutely that newborns know how to use their sphincters from birth. They don't enjoy being wet, sticky and smelly.. ick! They don't enjoy being trained to wet their diaper then do an about face when you're tired of it and want it over. I'd give anything to have a baby of my own but I've followed my hero, Andrea, for years. I guess I need to buy the products available to back it up to people. It is so common sensical and I still watch these videos and always try to mention this to new parents. My niece just had a sweet little boy...I'm not afraid, but I want to broach this topic carefully so she and my nephew can just hear the concept and know it's backed up with research and victory. ❤ thank you and Andrea! I love these videos.

    Hi!
I have a question regarding potty independence. Our older one has been daytime dry since he was 20 months old. Now he is 2,5 years old but we still help him to get onto the toilet (we have this ladder seat) because whenever he needs to pee (which he tells us verbally), he refuses to take off his pants (which he is perfectly capable of) and goes "no! hurry!" because he is afraid it will take too long for him to do it himself.
Any ideas? Shall we just stop helping him, so he will gain trust in his own skills? What if it results in him peeing his pants and he is upset "I told you so" 😂
He will start preschool in August and it would be great, if he could take himself to the bathroom there...
    Thanks in advance :)

If it weren't for the daycare question, I would say just to keep helping him since he will learn to remove his own pants in time! However, if you want to practice this skill, its best to do it when he does not need to pee! So, getting him to start taking more responsibility for dressing and undressing himself, or even making a game of it "just for fun" to build his skills and confidence 💕
