This is the recording from the gala concert of the Makris Symphony Orchestra presented in Belgrade on 5 September 2021, ahead of his 100th birth anniversary.

MAKRIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA made its first concert in Belgrade, Serbia, on January 31, 2015. The orchestra operates under the auspices of the Makris Music Society and the Makris Foundation, and bears the name of the American-Greek composer Andreas Makris (1930-2005).
With the aim to preserve, promote and protect the music and legacy of Andreas Makris, as well as support the development of young musical talents, Makris Music Society has, through its foundation, helped many young artists with scholarships that enabled them to attend masterclasses and workshops in Belgrade, Russia, Germany, Great Britain, USA and Austria. The foundation also helped purchase of musical instruments which are being used by the orchestra as well as other organizations with which the orchestra collaborates.
MSO pays special attention to stylistic interpretation and depending on the repertoire the musicians play on modern or period instruments, or they use certain elements that are appropriate for the appropriate interpretation (e.g. classical or baroque bows). The orchestra gathers some of the most talented musicians in the region, and received the "Orchestra of the Year" Award in 2016 from the Belgrade-based music magazine "Muzika Klasika". In the past several years it has been presenting concerts and operas in Belgrade, Novi Sad and other cities, and has collaborated with soloists such as Evelyn Berezovsky, Natasa Veljkovic, Srdjan Vukasinovic, Urmin Majstorovic, and others. MSO is also the official "orchestra in residence" of the award-winning New Belgrade Opera.

The song really brings together the story of Exodus. I couldn't imagine the movie without this! Perfection in five minutes!
A beautiful arrangement of this classic score. The tempo is a bit more brisk than the original movie recording, but it is executed with such precision and elegance that the majesty of the original is preserved. Indeed, the acoustics and recording are full and satisfying and do justice to Bernstein's brilliant music. Bravo!

From the day I went to see The Movie, "The Ten Commandaments", (in New York city, 1956), I have LOVED THIS SCORE and admired Maestro Elmer Bernstein for it. So much so that in 1956, the sound-track was available on disc and I bought it and still have it. Maestro Bernstein was a great composer and very much missed. He scored many, many movies.
Elmer Burnstien had such a range. When he could compose dramatic to comedic.

Grand and spectacular performance!!
Quand on était dans une salle de cinéma et l'on commençait par entendre une symphonie comme celle-là pendant le générique, on savait qu'il allait y avoir du spectacle.
Dit la légende que Victor Young, partenaire de longue date de DeMille a dû renoncer à composer le sound-track car il était malade. En réalité, il était en train de composer et mettre au point la bande son du Tour du Monde en 80 jours.
Heureusement pour la légende, car cette "suite" est l'une des rares reconnaissables et est indissociable des miracles de Moises-Heston.
