    I am looking for information on chronic pain due to RSD in my right ankle that I crushed in an auto accident. Two surgeries so far - reconstructive and fusion. I have daily pain that has drastically changed my quality of living and am "too young" for a needed ankle replacement. What is the best Kinesiology taping method to perhaps help with pain? The edema video is closet to what my PT did after my first surgery, but I was wondering if the basic ankle stability taping would give me some relief?

      Thanks for the message and if its swollen then the 'fanning' technique is better, however for stability then apply the KTape I demonstrate for ankle inversion sprains, regards JG

    Please tell me the length of each tape?

    • @JohnGibbons

      If you look on the back of the tape they have squares and for achilles the two longer pieces are 6 squares and the smaller one is 3 squares - regards jG

    Hi there! Do you have any suggestions for pain under the inner heel bone that moves up forwards the calf? It's like a very uncomfortable pain sensation if I dorsiflex. I had an ATR and had surgery for it. I've had quite a few complications including an infection so my wound isn't fully "closed" yet so I can't do any graston techniques.
    Also I can't seem to dorsiflex past 90 degrees either and it's been 10 weeks since my surgery. Any tips would be fantastic!

      Hard to comment without looking at you if honest, try and see a therapist near you and the Graston technique is great , regards JG

    Everybody has Achilles tendon but not everybody has tendinitis of Achilles tendon.

    How long abouts should each piece of tape be?

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      About 25cm each strip - you can buy pre-cut if easier, regards JG

    Why the shorter strip for the second application (the decompression strip)? What does the shorter strip do as compared to just stretching the middle part of a full strip and over the pain point and then having no stretch on the ends wrapping up towards the top of the foot? Thank you for your input.

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The shorter strip is also called the 'pain relieving strip' and normally has stretch in the centre so when applied will cause a microscopic lift of the underlying tissues and can assist in the removal of swelling through the lymphatic system. The ends of the tape has no stretch because it would potentially irritate the tissue underneath when it is attached because the tape has been tensioned, so the part thats working is within the centre. Hope that helps, regards JG
