Hopping on Rslash’s parent rant for the last story. Not only did these parents kick out their child to walk 8 miles to a safe place but they went out of their way to steal the money their own child was saving from a joint bank account and sold the car. Yikes
Breaks my heart. I know someone who was thrown out. A transman whose parents didn't accept him. At the age of 16. He's 24 now and going into IT. Now his parents want to get back into his life because he's making money. Surprise surprise. He went no contact and blocked them on everything. I'm lgbtq myself, gender fluid and I'm grateful I have accepting parents who do view me as my own person, though my dad did take a long time to come around and was initially somewhat hostile to my coming out.
@@Richard_Nickerson sadly its technically their money too. Joint accounts, especially ones made when the person is a minor, is still attached to the parent account. So in legal eyes its not theft. And they were 18, so not a child, and in their right to kick the child out. The car was theirs too.
Its unfortunately not stealing, nor is the person who came out a child. Legally, they have the right to kick them out, they can remove money from a joint account that they are the parent account of, they can sell the care, which is all in their name. It fuckin sucks but, its legal to do so and i think people dont understand that. Especially the part where the person coming out was 18, not a child.
"Why is your love to your child contingent on them agreeing with you?" Because some parents don't see their kids as people. The parents see the kids as extensions of themselves/their family or as dress-up robot dolls that will be exactly who the parents programmed them to be. Some parents live vicariously through their children, and if the child acts of their own free will and breaks the parent's illusion of any of these things, the parent gets pissed. Some parents also care about their self-image within a specific community and that self-image will come before their kid, be it through religious pressure, cultural pressure, or good ol' mental health issues like narcissism. Basically, some people shouldn't be parents and it shows.
Don't forget the parents or whole family will abuse the black sheep while saying "you should be grateful we've kept you alive all these years but instead you're making us look bad!!!" :(

This comment right here is 100% truth! My father is the type that if you don't agree with him then you are wrong, that goes 1000 fold for my brother and I. My brother "got lucky" and has similar views as my father, not on everything but on a lot. Me on the other hand, our views are complete polar opposite of one another. I'm talking political, religious, social, gender, sexuality, etc. Things really come to explosive heads when it comes to my son who is 12 and is currently exploring, finding, and questioning everything about himself. My father has made attempts to pursue my son into conforming but I always step in and fight for my son's right to decide who he is as a person. We had a physical altercation one night when he tried to give my son the same threat he gave me and my brother which is ver batim "If you ever bring another man home or if I catch you with another man I will beat the shit out of you, and if I physically can't then I have a truck in the driveway that can. You can call the cops, shit I'll dial for you but there's at least 5 mins before they get here." I hated that when I wasyounger and I'll be dammed if he going to treat my son like that. He and I also don't see eye to eye about a parents role. His philosophy is basically do as I say and don't talk back, it's a parents job to turn a child into a person. My philosophy is it's a parents job to guide their child into finding themselves. There's no "HOW TO BE A PARENT" rule book so we're all just making shit up as we go, that means to me it's a learning journey for both the child AND the parent. Since there is no solid guidelines in parenting it should be fluid. In my eyes he and I are almost equal, granted it's more of a 60/40 split but as they older person on the journey with a bit more knowledge of the how the world around us is.

I hope for you daughter's sake that she's cis, because being trans really sucks sometimes lol But if she isn't, then your child will be the most happy and healthy and safe out of the closet with a loving family and it's super amazing that you do provide that.

So I was living alone with the guy. Seeing him tense up with a knife in his hand when I passed him in the kitchen to get something from the fridge was not pleasant. I am 6'5 and he was closer to 5'6, but it doesn't matter when he has a knife. He ended up being picked up by police twice the same day. He ran away the first time and 2nd time he was forcibly kept at the institution while being medicated. I didn't see him after that. I moved 2 months later.
Admitting you can't trust yourself is really frightening and disturbing. It really drives home the idea that our perceptions are not as definite as we believe them to be.
One of my best friends have paranoia and schizophrenia, and she knows it and tries to control and avoid episodes, it's really hard for her and I just support her, which is why once, when people tried to "prank" her by gaslighting her about something inconsequential, I threatend to make them eat their own genitalia. To be fair not all of them knew but SOME DID they just were dickheads
The thing is that what OP did is most likely illegal, I prefer when they get destroyed via legal ways, it is more public and more satisfying, they know why they got that revenge, meanwhile here OP can't gloat in their victory because if they do that they will end up sued.
Unfortunately a lot of people have kids so they can have a clone of themselves or someone who thinks exactly like them. They see their kids as their property that they should be able to control, and when they can’t control their child, they abandon them. I can tell rslash had a kid for the right reason, because the love he expresses for his daughter is unconditional, as a parent’s love should be.
This comment reminded me of the book "Blueprint" by Charlotte Kerner. The book is about a talented pianist Iris Sellin due to getting diagnosed with multiple sclerosis wanting a child (a clone to be exact) so her talent would be preserved. She tries to control her clone Siri to become a pianist like her. (We read this book in german class)
I love my kids, and nephews and nieces, no matter what. I HOPE my son has the opportunity to be a father some day because being a dad has been the best thing I've ever experienced, but I won't love him any less if he doesn't.
Like, this is part of why representation matters in media, because one day, Trans/Gay/Non-Binary/etc people WILL probably come out to their family, and they can find solace in seeing a character like themselves thats represented positively. It can give them comfort in any scenario, including the lead up to and aftermath of coming out. It shows kids that this is perfectly fine and normal, and I get so exhausted trying to explain this to people who get iffy, skeevy, wishy-washy and even irritated about seeing people vye for representation in media. Its not an 'SJW agenda', its called moral decency and education.

It's too bad that they can't get original characters which pay homage to the journey that the people who struggle with identity traverse and instead just label [insert random character here] giving them the epitome of "sloppy seconds". It devalues them as people by implying that they aren't worth the thought it takes to make something original. It makes me heartbroken to see all these parents who raise children promising at birth to love and protect them unconditionally - and then disowning them the second they show that they are their own person instead of the mini-me that the parents expect. My home will always be a haven for any friends my future kids have whose parents are trash like that.

For example, if the parents are homophobic but end up with a homosexual child, the parents will either disown their kid or will realize they were wrong and change their values away from homophobia. That last story, the one about the trans woman getting kicked out, made me absolutely furious. I was fortunate enough that, when I came out, my own parents didn't have such a harsh reaction. But I still feel so badly for her. It'd have to be completely awful to have your own parents kick out just for not conforming to the norms.
i was terrified this would happen when i came out as biromantic asexual, and then even more so when i came out as nonbinary. my parents aren't understanding, but they still love me and are slowly getting used to my new name and pronouns. i feel so bad for kids who don't have that safety and reassurance

My kids would have to do some really bad things for me to kick them out or stop talking to them. im talking like murder, abuse, gang or mob type of criminal behaviour. if my son one day tells me that he's a girl and he's going to live his life as a girl... okay. whats your new name? do you want to go shopping for some new clothes? Note: Do not trick someone into doubting their own sanity. That's called gaslighting, and it's emotional abuse. Not being able to trust yourself or anyone else can be a traumatic experience with lasting consequences, including PTSD symptoms. As someone who is queer and genderfluid, I get really happy every time rSlash talks about his daughter and how if she is queer he wouldn't stop loving her. We need more parents like him
probably because an unborn baby can't refute any hopes or dreams placed on it, as opposed to a living, thinking person. Also, some people have cultural/religious dislike for lgbtqiaa+ or are disgusted because 'it isn't right' (because they can't and have valued such as wrong).
That thought about kicking out (and stealing from) trans kids or gay kids or anything like that is exactly what we think here in the Netherlands. We do not get it, you'd give your life for your kid but OMG they are gay, well then no love exists anymore. That wasn't love to begin with then. She is a trans woman, and when she was 16 her father came home from work early and caught her trying on her mom's dresses and experimenting with makeup. The dad went ballistic and started beating her, saying no son of his was going to be a crossdresser. In the middle of that beating she tried to come out to her dad that she was really a girl, but that just enraged her dad even more and said that if you think you want to be a girl, that he would show what it meant to be a girl, and tore her clothes off and sod***zed her. (Censored for TH-cam algorithm) She managed to get away later that night, ran away with just what she could fit in her school bag and completely cut her biological family out of her life.

One story from somewhere in the middle east was a father who thought his daughter who was like 5 or 6 was no longer a virgin and he beat her and then raped her anally too. She was torn so badly the bleeding wouldn't stop so her mother took a red hot poker and burned the wound. I'm not sure if the girl survive but the man didn't get punished because he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with his own daughter. So yes these men like in Egypt when they would assault and rape any woman on the streets with large groups of men are not like normal fathers who love their kids of love women. Their society has twisted them into monsters. It starts young when they get taught women are there to serve them, sisters are made to serve their brothers. And then they get encouraged not punished.
I'm a trans man, and my family all kicked me out one after the other so I ended up on my own at 17. Had to eat ketchup and molasses because I was broke. It was scary as hell.

When I was still living with my parents and we were still on good terms I did the Anoy-a-tron thing. I got the old and new version. I hid them behind the cable box during the thanks giving/ x-mass holidays in the US. My Aunt was visiting as well. It was a small house so sometimes I would hear them ask each other if they heard it at night. They saw them too thinking they where part of the cable box. I kept it up till they found it in the new year eve. They where so mad but laughed at it. I tried again with a different one later on but they found it and put it in my room under my bed.
When I came out as trans to my mom I told her I was afraid to because of stories like this. That made her cry and she told me that nothing could make her stop loving me. I wish all parents were like that.

I agree with rslash there no good reason to throw out a child you love but I think he just doesn't understand some people just hold their principles over all other things as shitty as it may be. And even in some cases some parents take the struggle of raising the child out on the child. Unfortunately not all love is whole, equal and unconditional. But that likely means rslash is going to be a good father.
Had I been OP and the "ex-gf" that Noisemaker story dials me explaining this happening to her, I would have told her "you must be dealing with the Cheater's Curse. I hear it happens to those who haven't been faithful and cheated on their bf/gf, and it's not just strange noises that happen either. Sometimes it's other ways... like this one lady who cheated on her husband with twelve other men, and I don't even want to think of how *that* one ended but it wasn't pretty four years later." Then sit back and enjoy her freaking out and panicking, paranoid about this forever. Best. Prank. Ever!
I love your attitude regarding parenthood, rSlash. But I must say, it is easier to say these things when your child is just an adorable baby. I hope you manage to keep that attitude when your child becomes an opinionated teen who will disagree with you in pretty much everything just to test your boundaries, and when your child becomes a self-aware adult who might want to live in ways you never expected your tiny baby to wish for. I suspect many of those awful, intolerant parents you read about are parents who just never managed to let go of the notion that their kids are their little babies and a mere extension of their own selves.

If it's just a random one here or there, people won't know who did it. And by stealing everyone's lunch you're kinda eliminating all of them as suspects.
My husband downloaded syrinscape for ttrpgs. His computer was having problems and wasn't loading anything so he left it running and went to bed. The next day while he was at work I started hearing occasional whispered conversations, children laughing, and other barely audible sounds. I was freaking out... until I realized his laptop was on a couple hours later.
That noise maker story reminded me of that one It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode. The fire alarm keeps chirping and Mac thinks he's going insane? It's like that. Only, somehow, worse.
quick note Rslash: the preferable terminology would be "my child comes out as a boy" rather than "my daughter thinks she's a boy" because within the LGBT community, it implies that your child is still a girl despite telling you they're a boy. hope this makes sense! I figure you'd be the kind of guy who wants to learn how to phrase things, love your stuff!

I relate to the last story, in regards to my parents. I have 4 children (all teenagers), and in regards to my parenting, I know I could never do that to my kids. I make sure they know they're stuck with me for life 🥰

I’m sure this will be buried, but here I go. My daughter came out to me about 2 years ago. She was so afraid of my reaction, but it didn’t bother me. I was raised in a very strict household, where this is an absolute atrocity! In that moment, I looked at my 16 yo daughters face, and nothing changed. I still loved her with every fiber of my being. She started dating a phenomenal girl, just a couple months older. My daughter is extremely loyal, and is the most compassionate person I’ve ever met. I was of course worried about the other girl. Not bc she was a girl, but bc my daughter is so sweet and kind, and I knew she deserved someone just like her. Fast fwd to a month ago. My daughter told me her gf wanted to be a him. Not do a full change, but breast reduction and testosterone. She was nervous telling me, but I am all for it. I told them both that I support them, and I’m always here to talk. My daughter has always told me everything. I’ve picked her up from parties at 1-2am, bc she wasn’t comfortable with her “friends” to drive. I never scolded her for this, but instead I always told her how brave she was, for knowing she deserves to feel safe. I told her that going against the peer pressure was a huge sign of strength and common sense. She’s almost 18, and I know she’s ready to step out in this world. I tried to raise an independent minded, compassionate person who has the ability to do whatever will make her happy, her bf is the same. My job wasn’t to raise someone exactly like me, but instead, to raise confident people who can make the choices that will make them happy. It doesn’t matter if their different. Different is good! Different is powerful!
The last story and your commentary resonates with me : I was 16 (my sister was 20) when she told me she was gay (in fact, she was more bi with an enphasis on women) My parents were shocked when she announced it : my mother taken aback, my father dead silent... Bimut to this day we still laigh about his answer when my sister said "You don't seem too pleased..." His answer : "WTF do you expect me to say ? Yipee kay yeah mofo ? Ofc I'm displeased, but you're my daughter and I love you, so if it's the way you are, I'll get over it so long as you're happy" He broke his oath : my sister have been unhappy and miserable with a girl that abused her for 3 years, and he never stopped supporting her even though she was unhappy. In the end, my sister broke up with this b word and actually, stunned us by falling in love with a man. So... in the end she was bi and now I've been a happy uncle for two years. ^^ Moral of the story ? I guess it's 'follow your heart', despote a few hoops it worked well for my sis', wether you're bi, homo, hetero, trans or whatever... You only get one life, make the best of it.

I have always heard more than people around me can hear......got tested once and the lady said it was actually above where she was supposed to document it on the chart. (I didn't tell her I didn't actually hear those super high pitched notes so much as feel them.....with those headphone things on my head I would raise my hand when I got a sudden pain in my ear because I figured that it was sound causing the pain - turns out I was right. I'm happy Rslash is showing how much a good dad he is, but I gotta correct one little thing. At the end he says "So what if my daughter thinks she's a boy?". What he should have said is "So what if my daughter realizes they're a boy" because trans people don't think they're the wrong gender, they know. I'm not coming from a bad place I just wanted to clarify for Rslash so he doesn't say the wrong thing in the future and get canceled for no reason. He's a good guy we all can tell.
- Just to add on how I know: I had to get everything settled to help a friend, her case was considered human trafficking bc they were about to send her to another country without her documents to keep her stuck to her father.
A friend of mine who had lived with his girlfriend for two years - She told him to pack and leave on the weekend, because she had a new boyfriend and he was moving in with her. . This was 100% totally out of the blue. . No arguments - no tension - no bad words. . . Nothing! Just "pack your stuff and go:" So she went out on Saturday to leave him on his own to pack his stuff and move out. . He did exactly that. . Then, just before he left for the last time, he bought 500 grams (a pound) of fresh prawns (shrimp) and put them inside the tubular steel curtain rods in every room in the apartment. I understand parents dispizing if their child disagrees with them or has an opposing world view. However. I do not understand how they can throw their child out for that, if they actually loved them for all those years before.
That last line about why a parent's love is contigent on agreeing is so true. I'm not a parent, but I don't think I could easily just disown my child for being LBGTQ or something that small. I used to go to a church where the minister demanded that the parents disown their children if they are gay/trans or if they're straight and move in together before marriage. Like, maybe you don't care about your children and would disown them over nothing, but some people do love their kids unconditionally and aren't heartless bastards

I hate that hallucinations are immediately seen as "going crazy/insane" I get hallucinations, constantly. It hurts to see so many people say "if I had hallucinations I would think I was losing myself/going insane" like it's a black and white thing of "you're either normal or you don't belong in society" but really some of the people you know and think are normal go through these things every day and pass as normal. I hate the hallucinations=insane mindset. And another thing is it really also depends on how the person reacts to these things, when they hallucinate. Some people become more and more paranoid while others just shrug it off and either take video to be sure or ask someone nearby that they trust for a reality check. I just want the stigma to go away.
When I heard the last story I started thinking "She should call the cops. Those are her legal documents that her parents are stealing. Then I remembered what a horrible track record for dealing with trans people, and that made me sadder. I guess that's a sign of privilege that I feel safe turning to the cops to help me solve a problem

Breaks my heart. I know someone who was thrown out. A transman whose parents didn't accept him. At the age of 16. He's 24 now and going into IT. Now his parents want to get back into his life because he's making money. Surprise surprise.

I'm lgbtq myself, gender fluid and I'm grateful I have accepting parents who do view me as my own person, though my dad did take a long time to come around and was initially somewhat hostile to my coming out.

@@Richard_Nickerson sadly its technically their money too. Joint accounts, especially ones made when the person is a minor, is still attached to the parent account. So in legal eyes its not theft. And they were 18, so not a child, and in their right to kick the child out. The car was theirs too.
Its unfortunately not stealing, nor is the person who came out a child. Legally, they have the right to kick them out, they can remove money from a joint account that they are the parent account of, they can sell the care, which is all in their name. It fuckin sucks but, its legal to do so and i think people dont understand that. Especially the part where the person coming out was 18, not a child.

The parents see the kids as extensions of themselves/their family or as dress-up robot dolls that will be exactly who the parents programmed them to be. Some parents live vicariously through their children, and if the child acts of their own free will and breaks the parent's illusion of any of these things, the parent gets pissed. Some parents also care about their self-image within a specific community and that self-image will come before their kid, be it through religious pressure, cultural pressure, or good ol' mental health issues like narcissism. Basically, some people shouldn't be parents and it shows.
Don't forget the parents or whole family will abuse the black sheep while saying "you should be grateful we've kept you alive all these years but instead you're making us look bad!!!" :(

This comment right here is 100% truth! My father is the type that if you don't agree with him then you are wrong, that goes 1000 fold for my brother and I. My brother "got lucky" and has similar views as my father, not on everything but on a lot. Me on the other hand, our views are complete polar opposite of one another. We had a physical altercation one night when he tried to give my son the same threat he gave me and my brother which is ver batim "If you ever bring another man home or if I catch you with another man I will beat the shit out of you, and if I physically can't then I have a truck in the driveway that can. You can call the cops, shit I'll dial for you but there's at least 5 mins before they get here." I hated that when I wasyounger and I'll be dammed if he going to treat my son like that. He and I also don't see eye to eye about a parents role. His philosophy is basically do as I say and don't talk back, it's a parents job to turn a child into a person. My philosophy is it's a parents job to guide their child into finding themselves. There's no "HOW TO BE A PARENT" rule book so we're all just making shit up as we go, that means to me it's a learning journey for both the child AND the parent. Since there is no solid guidelines in parenting it should be fluid. In my eyes he and I are almost equal, granted it's more of a 60/40 split but as they older person on the journey with a bit more knowledge of the how the world around us is.

I am 6'5 and he was closer to 5'6, but it doesn't matter when he has a knife. He ended up being picked up by police twice the same day. He ran away the first time and 2nd time he was forcibly kept at the institution while being medicated. I didn't see him after that. I moved 2 months later.
Admitting you can't trust yourself is really frightening and disturbing. It really drives home the idea that our perceptions are not as definite as we believe them to be.

Like, this is part of why representation matters in media, because one day, Trans/Gay/Non-Binary/etc people WILL probably come out to their family, and they can find solace in seeing a character like themselves thats represented positively. It can give them comfort in any scenario, including the lead up to and aftermath of coming out. It shows kids that this is perfectly fine and normal, and I get so exhausted trying to explain this to people who get iffy, skeevy, wishy-washy and even irritated about seeing people vye for representation in media.

She is a trans woman, and when she was 16 her father came home from work early and caught her trying on her mom's dresses and experimenting with makeup.
The dad went ballistic and started beating her, saying no son of his was going to be a crossdresser.
In the middle of that beating she tried to come out to her dad that she was really a girl, but that just enraged her dad even more and said that if you think you want to be a girl, that he would show what it meant to be a girl, and tore her clothes off and sod***zed her. She managed to get away later that night, ran away with just what she could fit in her school bag and completely cut her biological family out of her life.

I'm not sure if the girl survive but the man didn't get punished because he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with his own daughter.

When I was still living with my parents and we were still on good terms I did the Anoy-a-tron thing. I got the old and new version. I hid them behind the cable box during the thanks giving/ x-mass holidays in the US. My Aunt was visiting as well. It was a small house so sometimes I would hear them ask each other if they heard it at night. They saw them too thinking they where part of the cable box. I kept it up till they found it in the new year eve. They where so mad but laughed at it. I tried again with a different one later on but they found it and put it in my room under my bed.

The statement made at the end of the last story is the difference between a good parent and a bad one, well done rSlash keep championing the good people of the world.
I agree with rslash there no good reason to throw out a child you love but I think he just doesn't understand some people just hold their principles over all other things as shitty as it may be. And even in some cases some parents take the struggle of raising the child out on the child. Unfortunately not all love is whole, equal and unconditional. But that likely means rslash is going to be a good father.
Had I been OP and the "ex-gf" that Noisemaker story dials me explaining this happening to her, I would have told her "you must be dealing with the Cheater's Curse. I hear it happens to those who haven't been faithful and cheated on their bf/gf, and it's not just strange noises that happen either. Sometimes it's other ways... like this one lady who cheated on her husband with twelve other men, and I don't even want to think of how *that* one ended but it wasn't pretty four years later." Then sit back and enjoy her freaking out and panicking, paranoid about this forever.

I love your attitude regarding parenthood, rSlash. But I must say, it is easier to say these things when your child is just an adorable baby. I hope you manage to keep that attitude when your child becomes an opinionated teen who will disagree with you in pretty much everything just to test your boundaries, and when your child becomes a self-aware adult who might want to live in ways you never expected your tiny baby to wish for. I suspect many of those awful, intolerant parents you read about are parents who just never managed to let go of the notion that their kids are their little babies and a mere extension of their own selves.

@@malourasin8281 Still, does a lunch thief take everyone's lunch at the same time? No, that's a surefire way to raise suspicion and get people to act. If it's just a random one here or there, people won't know who did it. And by stealing everyone's lunch you're kinda eliminating all of them as suspects.
My husband downloaded syrinscape for ttrpgs. His computer was having problems and wasn't loading anything so he left it running and went to bed. The next day while he was at work I started hearing occasional whispered conversations, children laughing, and other barely audible sounds. I was freaking out... until I realized his laptop was on a couple hours later.

quick note Rslash: the preferable terminology would be "my child comes out as a boy" rather than "my daughter thinks she's a boy" because within the LGBT community, it implies that your child is still a girl despite telling you they're a boy. hope this makes sense! I figure you'd be the kind of guy who wants to learn how to phrase things, love your stuff!

I relate to the last story, in regards to my parents. I have 4 children (all teenagers), and in regards to my parenting, I know I could never do that to my kids. I make sure they know they're stuck with me for life 🥰
I know my family would be disappointed in me if they found out I was so lesbian or whatever. But they wouldn't destroy my whole life because of it. They say we still love you but we don't agree with you that's all they would say.

I’m sure this will be buried, but here I go. My daughter came out to me about 2 years ago. She was so afraid of my reaction, but it didn’t bother me. I was raised in a very strict household, where this is an absolute atrocity! In that moment, I looked at my 16 yo daughters face, and nothing changed. I still loved her with every fiber of my being. She started dating a phenomenal girl, just a couple months older. My daughter is extremely loyal, and is the most compassionate person I’ve ever met. I was of course worried about the other girl. Not bc she was a girl, but bc my daughter is so sweet and kind, and I knew she deserved someone just like her. Fast fwd to a month ago. My daughter told me her gf wanted to be a him. Not do a full change, but breast reduction and testosterone. She was nervous telling me, but I am all for it. I told them both that I support them, and I’m always here to talk. My daughter has always told me everything. I’ve picked her up from parties at 1-2am, bc she wasn’t comfortable with her “friends” to drive. I never scolded her for this, but instead I always told her how brave she was, for knowing she deserves to feel safe. I told her that going against the peer pressure was a huge sign of strength and common sense. She’s almost 18, and I know she’s ready to step out in this world. I tried to raise an independent minded, compassionate person who has the ability to do whatever will make her happy, her bf is the same. My job wasn’t to raise someone exactly like me, but instead, to raise confident people who can make the choices that will make them happy. It doesn’t matter if their different. Different is good! Different is powerful!

The last story and your commentary resonates with me : I was 16 (my sister was 20) when she told me she was gay (in fact, she was more bi with an enphasis on women)
My parents were shocked when she announced it : my mother taken aback, my father dead silent... Bimut to this day we still laigh about his answer when my sister said "You don't seem too pleased..."
His answer : "WTF do you expect me to say ? Yipee kay yeah mofo ? Ofc I'm displeased, but you're my daughter and I love you, so if it's the way you are, I'll get over it so long as you're happy"
He broke his oath : my sister have been unhappy and miserable with a girl that abused her for 3 years, and he never stopped supporting her even though she was unhappy.
In the end, my sister broke up with this b word and actually, stunned us by falling in love with a man. So... in the end she was bi and now I've been a happy uncle for two years. ^^
Moral of the story ? I guess it's 'follow your heart', despote a few hoops it worked well for my sis', wether you're bi, homo, hetero, trans or whatever... You only get one life, make the best of it.

I have always heard more than people around me can hear......got tested once and the lady said it was actually above where she was supposed to document it on the chart. (I didn't tell her I didn't actually hear those super high pitched notes so much as feel them.....with those headphone things on my head I would raise my hand when I got a sudden pain in my ear because I figured that it was sound causing the pain - turns out I was right. Lol) I am on the autism spectrum and just have really great hearing.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like dealing with one of those Annoy-a-trons. 😱🤯

I'm happy Rslash is showing how much a good dad he is, but I gotta correct one little thing. At the end he says "So what if my daughter thinks she's a boy?". What he should have said is "So what if my daughter realizes they're a boy" because trans people don't think they're the wrong gender, they know. I'm not coming from a bad place I just wanted to clarify for Rslash so he doesn't say the wrong thing in the future and get canceled for no reason. He's a good guy we all can tell.

It is, can be considered abduction, slavery or even human trafficking depending on the scale of the situation.
- Just to add on how I know:
I had to get everything settled to help a friend, her case was considered human trafficking bc they were about to send her to another country without her documents to keep her stuck to her father.

A friend of mine who had lived with his girlfriend for two years - She told him to pack and leave on the weekend, because she had a new boyfriend and he was moving in with her. .
This was 100% totally out of the blue. . No arguments - no tension - no bad words. . . Nothing!
Just "pack your stuff and go:"
So she went out on Saturday to leave him on his own to pack his stuff and move out. .
He did exactly that. . Then, just before he left for the last time, he bought 500 grams (a pound) of fresh prawns (shrimp) and put them inside the tubular steel curtain rods in every room in the apartment.
The curtain rods had little decorative spherical knob things on the end of them - he took them off and shoved 4 or 5 prawns in each end of every curtain rod and then plugged them back up with the decorative knobs.
That apartment *STUNK* and NOBODY could figure out where the smell came from!
They had the carpets shampood several times. they cleaned all the closets and kitchen cupboards. they had all the drains checked by plumbers. .
No success. .
They even threw out some of their clothes, thinking the smell came from there - when probably the clothes smelled because they were kept in a stinky apartment. .
His girlfriend eventually broke up with her new boyfriend, because the smell was driving them both crazy and causing them to argue all the time. .

Everywhere i've worked, there was a VERY strict rule that "private packed lunches are PRIVATE PROPERTY so theft of it WILL be reported to the police AS theft and is grounds for immediate termination".
I understand parents dispizing if their child disagrees with them or has an opposing world view.
However.
I do not understand how they can throw their child out for that, if they actually loved them for all those years before.
That last line about why a parent's love is contigent on agreeing is so true. I'm not a parent, but I don't think I could easily just disown my child for being LBGTQ or something that small. I used to go to a church where the minister demanded that the parents disown their children if they are gay/trans or if they're straight and move in together before marriage. Like, maybe you don't care about your children and would disown them over nothing, but some people do love their kids unconditionally and aren't heartless bastards
im not a father, but if my child grew up to not like star wars then that could be the deal breaker
There are so many stories out there of adolescents publicly coming out just to be made homeless because their family conditionally loved them. Breaks my heart.
This is why rslash gives that controversial advice of staying in the closet until you can support yourself if you think your parents would kick you out.

I hate that hallucinations are immediately seen as "going crazy/insane"
I get hallucinations, constantly. It hurts to see so many people say "if I had hallucinations I would think I was losing myself/going insane" like it's a black and white thing of "you're either normal or you don't belong in society" but really some of the people you know and think are normal go through these things every day and pass as normal. I hate the hallucinations=insane mindset.
And another thing is it really also depends on how the person reacts to these things, when they hallucinate. Some people become more and more paranoid while others just shrug it off and either take video to be sure or ask someone nearby that they trust for a reality check. I just want the stigma to go away.
When I heard the last story I started thinking "She should call the cops. Those are her legal documents that her parents are stealing. Then I remembered what a horrible track record for dealing with trans people, and that made me sadder.
I guess that's a sign of privilege that I feel safe turning to the cops to help me solve a problem
