Nine seconds later you have a G & T. The most complicated thing is the wedge of lime. I will stick to that first version.

For a clean G&T on a budget, I really like Canada Dry tonic and Seagram's gin. Seagram's is very juniper-forward, but tastes really great and well-balanced with Canada Dry. I also like to muddle some mint leaves and half a lime in the bottom of a pint glass, add ice cubes, pour 3-4oz of gin, and top with tonic and stir. Juniper berries taste sweet (when picked at the right time). Crunchy yet "gooey"....similar to the texture of a tiny cranberry but filled with fig guts (texture only). They have a wonderful pine-tree note....which makes sense because junipers grow on desert evergreens.
I rarely drink alcohol, but I do love drinking tonic, and my favorites have been anything in the Fentiman's line of tonics. Really clean and authentic in their herbal flavors.

I've been really liking Roku gin for G&T lately. I keep coming back to Fever Tree tonic after trying several different ones - worth the money, and yes, the Elderflower is lovely.
You should try the italian tonic "Tassoni Tonica"! It's not made with quinine but quassin (from the quassia tree root) and is aromatized with italian citron.
For making an English Mule, my favorite ginger beer is Fentimans Ginger Beer. It's not too sweet, nice crisp finish, and has a heat to it that nicely complements the gin.

Here in Sweden, we have a local tonic maker that have tonics flavored with elderflower, blueberry, spruce shoots, rhubarb, or cucumber. Cucumber and rhubarb are my clear favorites, especially if you take the cucumber flavored and add freshly ground black pepper and a few cucumber shavings.
I've been experimenting with gin and tonics for a little while, and the best one I've made, and my go-to recipe from now on, is shaking two ounces of Ungava with ice and half an ounce of lime juice, straining over ice, and topping with Fever Tree elderflower tonic water.
Gin and Tonic is my drink of choice and I almost always use the Fever Tree Indian Tonic (the yellow label used in the video) and The Botanist brand gin, super smooth, and a lime slice. My cheap mix option for a party where I don't want to bring the good stuff I get a 12 pack of Schweppes Tonic Water and a bottle of Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire gin.

I go all local for my G&T. Hat Trick gin from High Wire Distillery here in Charleston, SC and Jack Rudy tonic also made here. I like the Jack Rudy tonic because it is sold as a syrup and you just add seltzer to it. Saves on having to buy a lot of individual tonic bottles.
Saffron and orange gin and tonic: one part saffron infused gin, two parts tonic. Top off with orange juice and two dashes of orange bitters. Garnish with slice of orange on the glass
My go to G&T includes a teaspoon and a half of simple syrup, a bar spoon of rose water, and the juice of half a lime. Especially with that Elder flower tonic, nothing beats it on a hot summer day.

This is literally the Binging with Babish of liquor
My favorite gin is Gentilly Gin from Seven Three Distilling Co. in New Orleans. The Terroir Gin from St. George is also very nice. I've had gin made with cedar berries which is just a different species of juniper, from Jug Creek Distillery but they have closed so that gin will only live in memory.
I'm such an alcoholic that I watch others drinking.
Fever tree also makes a grapefruit tonic which I found last night tasted delicious with gin and I put a slice of orange peel, a sprig of mint and some lime juice 👌
Love Gin. Only had one bad gin in my life. It was a local craft gin where instead of Juniper they used some other berry (I forgot the specific one) but either way when mixed with my moms created cocktail (gin, grapefruit seltzer water, cranberry juice) it tasted like dish soap.
I like the ones with the air because the end look was cool with some floating
