Some of the underrated skill in videos like these is of the caster himself. Artosis is going on a four-minute sidebar about different styles of play but doesn't miss a beat in-game and can summarize the whole thing afterward.
I'm impressed by Brain's performance overall. The decisions of when and how to attack were spot on, the utilization of storms were superb. I was in disbelief at the efficiency for most fights taken by Brain, no way he can do anything there - ends up trading really good or straight up destroying forward positions forcing Sharp back. Archon drops on tanks - read that twice to sink it in. He practically didn't get anything out of Reavers at all, Arbiters non-existent. The guy basically goes gatewayman with mass sickest storms and dismantles peak performing Sharp in a long macro game.
you could definitely see brain's style influenced by playing fastest, - of having very grid-like building layouts - heavy emphasis on drops - diversion with drop into an attack - insane macro, almost constantly 2x enemy in supply
Ya, those sick drops and sick storms are his iconic moves on Fastest. You simply can’t see those beautiful storms on any other Protoss players. And somehow he chose not to make arbiters, that’s weird to me.
I think one of the biggest testaments of skill between these two players is the fact that the game itself went on so much longer than most games Artosis casts.
29:35 The protoss has more than 15 high templars in that push, which is crazy. But I think the worst move for Sharp was at 27:26. He literally put 4 tanks in the middle of the map alone, they were doing nothing there and there is no way any protoss army does not kill them. So he just gave 4 tank for free, which really matters. If he has those tanks, maybe he can kill the High Templar before they all use storms at 29:35.
I think the big move here was the constant use of drops to get Sharp to pull his vultures out of position and then attacking into the unprotected siege tanks with zealot goon army. It's actually suuuuuuper smart! Sharp was really forced to split up his vultures between tank protection and drop defence and he just didn't have enough multitasking to pull it off. He should probably work on having a separate control group of like 6 vultures to deal with drops rather than pushing the panic button and overcommitting his full vulture force to that
also this prevented Sharp from being the harasser which is how he usually beats people, by being ultra annoying with vultures harassing different bases
Cant believe a fastest player went toe to toe with Sharp in a macro-game. I was so ready to write Brain off, based on the worker counts in the mid-game for both game. Fantastic game!
@ArtosisCasts Brain is super good at storm dropping and blanketing with storms because that's the thing you absolutely have to be good at to win in stupid Fastest Map games. Brain has probably done more "instant blanket everything with storms" drops than pretty much anyone alive. I didn't think he would win this game, but if there was going to be a way to do it, it'd be with psi storms.
I started watching this channel after the flash comeback because after years of sucking at RTS I decided to play through StarCraft 1 campaigns and my YT algorithm suggested it. I’ve played wow for years and I love that the “small indie company” meme extends to the StarCraft 1 community as well 😊
Chills Its crazy to me that sharp actually got close to breaking brain after all that wth those Defense matrixes looked absolutely broken in that engagement at 25 mins lol
They are usually about 2 days late because they don't get the vods immediately and they're on different timezones and stuff. They explained in the round of 24 about this.
So many protoss players get stuck in ape mode late game. Brain had 200 supply against 120 and a bank. He should have thrown 4 stargates and went carrier. He had plenty of time and money to do that. I suppose that's just too easy.
@@joeo6378 If a unit shoots from high ground, the enemy gets vision of it for a little bit. So you get the first shot from the high ground, then the opponent can shoot back and miss 50% of their shots. In SC2 you dont automatically get vision, but you dont get miss chance vs high ground either.

The only problem is his strong terran bias

Nah. It's just your inability to accept facts that's giving you trouble.
Protoss is retard-friendly. Everyone knows it. Even the AI

Sharp actually has a glass chin. He only moves out his vultures with his tanks. Once you figure that he is predictable.
Baiting out EMPs with hightemplars so they can morph into full shield Archons, the next level play

yeah, kinda crazy how he isn't even in ASL this season but outplayed Sharp who was top 4 last season
All true, I don't know about the macro tho, it seemed pretty even through the game
Apparently, Zelot is also not in SSL. He keeps making guardian rushes. The key is not doing it every game.

Sharp chills to the Brain

Theyre so cold, they turned blue

outplayed him even. Had an arguably inferior unit comp and still won based on superior macro among other things
Great passionate cast with a lot of insights like always! Only thing, being so zoomed out all the time makes it painful to watch on the phone

Small indie company 😂 That got me pretty good
He mispronounced Microsoft...
What gave *me* chills is the random cut at around 4:10 🙃
Real life is scary
I love it when things get so hectic you can't keep up. Sick game!
Great cast Artosis - what a wild ride of a game
so many big brain moves in this one
has there ever been a TvP where artosis didnt say "5th base terran has to attack or expand" hahaha
Archons definitely have a place in the match up, but it's extremely situational. This was great
It is certainly a flex move.
Archons give me chills
your mum gives me chills
Cant beat Arty casting a long duration game, xmas comes early this year!! 💯💪🏼
Wow the final frame is a wallpaper
Great game, Great casting!! I love long games. This one kept shifting back and forth, was so close.
Omg Artosis! Miss you so much, wish we both were back in GSL studio hahaha

I've always wondered what happens when Artosis makes that funny voice, anyone? 😂
Ah, I started as a Protoss Fastest player.
MAN.... good times.
1:13 kinda exited to see what he is going to be able to brain. HE HE HE.
That’s a full action game right there. GG
Sharp the Vulture god.
Always found it interesting that Sharp is your favorite Terran
Chills

This was excellent!
Definitely enjoyed!
Brain is a very fun protoss to watch.
Yes, he plays fresh just like DeWalt.
Wow! I miss Brain so much! I hope he comes back to 1v1, his games in ASL were great!
Double Zealot Drop, with 1 Drop of 2 H.Templars. Just the way workers clump when travelling to patches... underneath army.
Amazing game would love to continue seeing more Brain!
That was a pretty good one
Of course the fastest player goes right for storm drop haha
We miss you, Flash.
RIP to Flash, thoughts and prayers for his family.
9/23/2024
Flash would have given us a Flash game.
Without flash=no chills.
With flash=?
Can someone explain to me the flash worship? I just don't get it
Holy damn what a great game. Especially for a T player like me
Where is the AfreecaTV cast of the current SSL? Behind schedule with editing or translations?
They are usually about 2 days late because they don't get the vods immediately and they're on different timezones and stuff. They explained in the round of 24 about this.
Aldaris might even send archons against us…
Zerg is so HYPE!
3/3/3 archons are scary stuff man
Casting Sharp is Artosis' happy place

5:33 how did that goon hit the tank on high ground? No vision.. right?
tank fired first
@@jhmvr That grants temp vision? Is that a one time thing? Or every tank shot would grant a little vision?
Thanks for the reply.

lmao loved the lowkey criticism blizzard caught from the crash. the tech just isn't there xD
POWER OVERHWLEMING!
Sharps strategic game plan was a huge mistake imo. Could’ve pushed nicely along the right edge to the Protoss 4th. Great play by brain though
thor style at the end lol
i was just thinking the other day about how i think sharp is my favourite terran player, and i think he will do well this ssl/asl
Let's go old school - (Action) Snow Sharp!
Damn this was goood.
Bro gonna have a heart attack
Doctor Manhattan rush
Wait, is Jaedong in ASL now? I remember him losing left and right ever since he returned to broodwar a couple of years ago.
He just lost earlier and will not make it to next round

With artosis scrolling so much, how did he miss all the action?
The storms in this game were actually crazy, almost Jangbi level.
Glorious game!!!
Can anyone tell me what fastest is?
What a slugfest! I feel the loser could have won if he played more patiently. thanks for casting.
Small indie company, excellent
great game, thanks!
Wild one
Sick game
Fantastic game!
If Artosis was playing he would have rotated his rotation around and gotten the chills he needed to win.
What the storm?
"Matrices", Arti
Archons are the new meta
Sharp is your favorite player?? Heresy!!!!! Blasphemy!!!!!
Starcraft/Broodwar units are so much cooler than Starcraft II units.
EZ Terran. Easily beaten into submission.
Blue is so horrible with micro-ing those dragoons its actually frustrating for me to watch for a pro player.
30:00 I thought Brain was done for, never doubt your opponent's inability to can, I guess
1 sharp shill = 1 sharp chill
34 minutes 😳
Ssl when?
most likely tomorrow morning, euro-trash time
Archons are great
the game was lost for terran for expanding waaaaay too late. He had the map and got greedy for nothing

"interactive style" easily translates to "really crappy if you play against anybody good"
