Made the recipe yesterday for First Sunday family brunch. Used small red potatoes from Trader Joes and added rosemary and chopped Italian parsley. Universally loved and the leftovers today were really good too! Thank you for the great recipe! Will submit a pic next time.
A step by step methods and with clear information is great for a beginner homecook like me😊 Couldn't ask for more. Looks delicious! Like. Subscribe. And thank you for sharing. Have a nice day🙂everyone.
I like your easy to follow style of recipe videos! I’m just starting to learn to cook so these are really helpful! Can’t wait to show my family I can cook too! 😂
@@SimplyElegantHomeCooking Wow, great progress! I only know how to cook one soup and saute vegetables. xD The other day I tried to make a boiled egg and it came out undercooked and unpeelable >.< I made some really great creamy boiled eggs the next day once I realised my mistakes! I saw my brother cook a simple breakfast the other day of pan toasted sourdough, cherry tomatoes and scrambled eggs. I recreated it today for him and he said he was seriously impressed!!! I'm so happy :D
Those potatoes look fantastic & I bet they taste even better than they look! I love garlic flavoring with potatoes. You can bet that I will be making this dish very soon.
Your smashed potatoes look one of the best not too dry because of stove cooking..but throwing the garlic out .?.can't find a way to use them with this ..u must be kidding us !!
#1 you should have added shallots with the garlic. Then strain the oil, fry potatoes, cook them crispy when they are done add the garlic and shallots on top of each one. Don't dare throw away garlic. Are you insane? I can tell you're not a Chef. Sorry just being honest
I can't recommend this video. It contains both poor culinary technique, and speaking technique. There are plenty of superior options on here to refer to including the originator of many components shown here: Serious Eats, and Simply Mamá Cooks for a similar method with superior execution.
I’d leave that garlic in there! It’s good for you! And delicious.

Thanks! I might try your version next time I make this as it sounds delicious!
Really delicious crispy garlic smashed potatoes recipe 👍
Thanks!
These potatoes look delicious and easy to make. Infusing the oil with all that garlic is a great idea. Yum!
The infused oil is so much better than running the risk of burnt garlic in the potatoes!

Thanks! It is easy to learn. Less than 5 years ago the most complicated things I could cook were bacon and scrambled eggs.

Very nice indeed Eric! The sour cream and bacon idea floats my boat too. Shared 😋🌟👍
I kept it simple for the video but you could definitely add those and make it almost like a loaded baked potato.
OH SO DELICIOUS YOU HAVE TURNED PLAIN POTATOES INTO A ELEGANT DISH SO CRISPY BROWN , BUTTERY AND GARLICKY EXCELLENT THANK YOU

Thank you for the videos. Do you have any gluten free french toast recipe's?
Haha that might be tough...I would probably recommend just doing a different dish if you want to avoid gluten!

Then give these a try and load it up!

While they still hot add Parm Cheese(Fresh)

ya bacon would be good
Oh yes, I really should have used it in the video but it was still good!
… “we’re gonna’ throw away this garlic now…”
Come again?
That is to avoid burning it which happens to me a lot if I leave it in. The garlic flavor is infused into the oil though.
I came here to say this. What did he mean? Did he mean it? Should I report the video?
I don’t understand why you didn’t dump the cooked garlic on top of the finished dish, I would have.
I will eat the whole bag of potatoes 🤦🏽♀️
Where is my portion?
This is an easy recipe to double or triple!

discard the garlic!!! blasphemy!!!
Haha I hear ya, it is just so easy to burn the garlic if you leave it in. The potatoes still get a nice garlicky flavor from this infusion method.
You can toss the garlic back along with condiments, just before turning off the heat and have it both way, in and not burned & bitter.

Your suggestions all sound great. Thanks for watching!
