Great comparison of those models! When we bought our Jeanneau, the Cutwater was our other option, but the gunnels to walk around and to the front of the boat are very narrow and not safe. When you need someone to go to the front to assist docking or with the anchor in a rough situation, it is not safe. For us safety was a deal breaker. Now, they added an extension attachment to the walking area on the sides but it looks weird. The Jeanneau has a nice wide area with a railing to walk around the boat. Great job!
Thanks! Coming from a walk around cuddly boat, I thought the gunnels were pretty standard. Safer than our Grady even. The jeanneau definitely had more space to walk around. It’s all compromise with boats. What I won’t compromise with is the creaky, noisy and bouncy floors in the cockpit and in the cabin as you hear and see in the video. Especially if I’m paying 500k for a boat (which I wouldn’t). Nice boats, cool styling, layouts were great but didn’t come close to the quality of the cut water, ranger and solara boats in our opinion. Small fuel tanks so you don’t have as much range. I’m curious to know the running numbers as it seemed these boats were underpowered too. Any of these boats are better than our boat though 🤣 Different boats for different folks! Thanks for the comment! 🤙
We had tickets to the boat show, but didn't go because of the rain. We were going *specifically* to look at boats in this category, so thanks for braving the elements so I didn't have to! Great work, Captain!
@warlordop713 you’re right about that! we just weren’t prepared. Fail to prepare be prepared to fail. One tiny umbrella wasn’t cutting it lol. You also get to if the boats leak at all. If you check out our other video, and if you look closely, the Parker was leaking through the top hatch. 🤙
Y'all nailed it with that cutwater 288. Definitely my pick as well. I am a large man at 6'1" and pushing 300 I feel like it would be the least uncomfortable for me.
Great video. We looked at Cutwater and Jeanneau and both are great boats. We ended up with a Jeanneau 1095 and I have a few notes on your walk through. First, you can open the floor of the cockpit easily. It is best to remove the table, but it lifts up. The second latch is inside the seat/storage box behind the sliding door. Second is that you should have opened the “Dometic” in the 3rd stateroom. It is in fact a second fridge that is the same as the one in the Galley. It’s great to have an extra fridge for longer trips!
Thanks for that Keith! We thought the 1095 was a pretty bad ass boat! I read that dometic logo and figured it might be an ac or fridge but it wouldn’t open so I didn’t want to break it. Two fridges is a plus for sure! 🤙🌊🛥️
Love it brother .. Kristy and I just finished watching the one before this. Watching the second time I laughed at the music you added with the S Poll. 😂😂😂
The Albermarle is a fishermen’s dream but I wouldn’t put it in the camper/family boat. You could use it for that but it wouldn’t be the best choice. Me personally as a fishermen it’s my dream boat.
Hey guys, greetings from New York City. I have a suggestion. I think it would be great if you guys could review the boats in a tag-team “format”. My wife wants to hear what Alison likes about the boat. So maybe Alison could review one boat or one part of the boat and explain the features that are most appealing to her as a woman, and perhaps the guy can focus on the electronics, the engine, fishing features and other things that appeal more to guys?
I think that’s a great idea! And thank you so much for the comment! That’s definitely something we will be working on! You’re totally right! Thanks again!
@@perfectfitboating We are in the market to upgrade our 25 ft Sea Ray to maybe 35 ft or more so these walkthrough overviews are very helpful. Naturally my wife wants to hear Alison"s opinion because the reality is in my neck of the woods, New York City, the women are in charge of the boat. The guys just drive it (but only when the women let them do so :)
Yes I agree. If you want to build your channel you definitely need to utilize your greatest asset Alli. You are a great couple just a little friendly advice.
Just watching now - the Cutwater C-288 C is sold as the luxury edition which comes with Lithium-Ion batteries for AC and reverse cycle heat - I think the version you showed was the luxury edition so no generator needed unless you are going for extended cruising !
I have to double check we may have missed that one. The rain was a real pain and we were trying to not get soaked half the time. There were also the European Parker boats but they didn’t have any reps on them and they were closed. So we may have missed a few boats. Sorry about that.
The more I boat in Florida, the more I want a boat with the wind in my hair and open windshield. We have removed all our eisenglass on our fly bridge and love it. We haven’t been caught in a rainstorm yet, so maybe I’ll change my mind after that, but time will tell. Always looking for our next boat so thanks for the reviews. Too bad weather sucked!
Thank you so much for the support! Glad you liked the video! Hopefully you won’t ever get caught in a rainstorm, they’re awful! lol are you guys headed to the Sarasota boat show in April? We’ll be there!
I’ve seen 40 foot boats get trailered on those quad axle trailers in the market for a Grady white 300 Marlin or 282 sailfish currently. Used obviously. It’s easy to know the new boats are a scam. All it takes is a calculator to know how much they are really worth. Those albermales are awesome though. I went on a 41 express back in last July for a sailfish charter. Caught 2 sailfish. 😂
Those Grady’s are sweet boats! We have a 24 offshore pro and we love it. It would be nice to have a 28 or 30. Our fav is the 33 express 😳. And we love the lines of the albermale. Had those clean lines and is a fishing machine! Hopefully you’ll be able to catch more off your grady! Cheers 🍻
Actually you brought an unexpected journey for me. I loved the oceanis 30.1 (coastal distance in small comfort) in particular. I’m athletic but 70’s and climbing a mast could be a reality. My interests, under $200k pocket yacht, possibly trailerable. The real beauties seem to be about $300k and slip required. Thanks for introducing the cabin cruisers to me.
That Juneau #3 boat and #4. I like those the best. Those Albemarle.... Hm feels plastic and more purpose made for fishing and dive. Definitively not a comfortable yatch. Last one... Nah not my interior style. Nice vid as always 😄👍
What do you have against walking up to the bow? For those of us in New England who keep their boats on a mooring, safe and convenient access to the bow is an absolute necessity for picking up a mooring pendant. Not everyone lives only in the stern cockpit.
Now that’s what I’m talking about brother. Those are a dream. I love those pilot house style boats! I need to make a trip to the Seattle boat show! 🤙🌊🛥️
You actually said that you didn't like something. Saying you don' like something on a Yacht review is rare, these days. You get points from me. Your wife should be in the review as well, as others have commented on. Couples do better on You Tube, than single reviewers.
Thanks for the comment Michael! I try to be as honest as I can on these walk throughs. It’s hard because everyone prioritizes different things so I try to be as neutral as possible. We have a boat show coming up in two weeks. You’ll see more of her for sure. We’ll be tag teaming on these walk throughs so youre definitely right about that! Thanks for watching! 🤙
Thanks guys I think dollar for dollar the cut water is tough to beat especially given the known quantity of this companies commitment through all their lines. As the saying does a seat for every butt.
If you can, check out the Trophy T29 explorer. It's right in the "pocket yacht" niche, but I want to see someone tour it who *_isn't_* a salesperson looking for a commission. It's also supposed to be an excellent value at $210k. If that's really the price because I only saw it in a comment. Great review, btw! I like most of the Cutwater, except the Isinglass wall and windows.
With enough lithium batteries & solar panels you reallly don’t need a generator. You can even design it so the engine/s turn on if your battery banks fall off to a certain level. 2x 24v 400ah batteries, 3500 watt inverter feeding a panel,,,. Life is great & QUIET!
Man that would be amazing. With enough space, you can load up on batteries and solar panels and not have any noise! I think the current setup they have on these smaller boats you get about 6-8 hours of ac run time. Thanks for the comment! 🤙
I’ve seen some of the defiant boats and c dorys who have a standup head in the pilot house and those are sweet. I wish more manufacturers used that in their builds. Thanks for the comment! 🤙
That's not a pocket type of thing that's something you give to your wife so she can carry it around in her purse with that stupid bulky hundredthousand dollar watch you bought last week you never wear for more than an hour . Buy the boat , name it The Jewlery Box and sell the watch to pay for the dam thing . Next year maybe think about . No just keep the boat . Make em throw in the trailer , a blender and a good toaster oven , bath towels , kitchen towels and a lot of ice on delivery day .
