Think this is pretty normal these days - still a nice interesting video!! One thing that i notice isn't done often - I crewed an NSRI rescue boat (about 4000 yrs ago) that was launched from a dolly and we would always start the motors prior to the boat being released from the dolly - if an engine fails, you can recover without having to try and move a dead boat. We launched in a little cove and ran straight out into the atlantic ocean, so power on the boat at release was a prerequisite!
If they're in a large harbour, they need to get around to other places, or to go sightseeing, or to pick up their rich friends who are anchored elsewhere.
shadowfax1220 lots of reasons from things like water sports ,cruising the harbor and so on. Basically anything you'd use a sport cruiser or speed boat for.
Tom Pinion you do know that's fiberglass simulated wood, right? They're not capable of a paint job like that, and even if they were you never do a spray in in a high moisture/humidity environment
Because its a green and rookie error. Like that shown in the video, youve tie up the yacht and only thinking about the yacht and not considering how the tender is suppose to get out if needed. Due to the outcome of that it barely gets out scraping along the back of the wharf possibly screwing your props and scraping that amazing and lovely finished wood as well
as an owner of such a yacht it would drive me nuts to see so many people working on a job, one or two people should be able to do. people i would have to pay ...
calypsosoca If you owned such a yacht you'd know that its more important to have more people so as not to damage the equipment rather than have only two people and possible end up with repair bills to a very expensive tender. Yes it could be done with less but it would take longer also.
The boat is docked.....One guy to launch, one guy to drive the boat. The guy on the back is an accident waiting to happen and in violation of coast guard regs as soon as the motor was started. Around here (lake havasu)i see one or two guys launching 40" cats all the time. One guy backs it down the ramp, the captain gets the motors lit and there is usually half dozen half naked women to keep an eye on things
They are on the boat anyway, probably 10-20 personnel to maintain a yacht this size. Yachts like this have maintenance costs 6-15 million a year, so the owner simply doesn't care as long it doesn't get scratched. It's hard for me to believe you own one of these, with such little knowledge.
As an "owner" of that lovely boat he cannot do any of the paperwork or other necessary written communications - look at his punctuation, or really, the lack of it.
I worked professionally on yachts all over the Med & Caribbean for 30 years. I never once saw anyone wearing a lifejacket. It's a new health & safety rule.
Why not get a real fast AMPHIBIOUS Tender Boat/Car to go in that garage? Then you can just drive it out and drive it back in. the I built a fast prototype that runs right at 45 mph (39 knots) on water and is fast on land too. Watch Video th-cam.com/video/RA9Z9nhJK7M/w-d-xo.html . This was my first generation prototype it is 80” wide by 20’ long (2.05 meters x 6.15 meters long) and has seating for 8 people. I am working on prototype #2 with my own custom transmission. It is a way better layout than the one in the video. I can custom build a fast amphibious limo size unit with 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer and yes the wheels will be fully retractable and yes it will be fast in the water.
Love when you post about yachts! I would love to see more about the tender garages

Glad they had just enough room to offload this little jewel of a tender!
what is the advantage of those vs iflatable dingys.....launging in rough water makes those look difficult to do..
Some damage to the right hand stern corner of that tender?
Why bother with the fenders its got scratches all over the stern
This is a common way for modern day mega yachts to launch toys. Don't know why you think this is strange.
no it's not. clearly
All these modern superyachts really are James Bond material.
how do they normally launch a tender?
Jason X Usually with a winch/crane taken out the side through a shell door. Look at my other video 'Sea Operations' at 4:18 they launch a tender.
eSysman nobody wench and cranes anymore and especially not that size
If the yacht is tied up already - why do you need the tender?????

wow, what a set up.
Why not from the side
If I were the owner I would be putting those boat boys to work fixing that banged up corner on that tender. Get to work ye scalawags!

what is so strange about that. my superyachts do that

Awesome way to launch a tender
Is amazing how many people lives in that tiny island...
what island is it?
thanks for sharing
Good vid! No fucking music and it was interesting.

blackbirdxx928 you clearly don't know shit about this
Chicken tenders?
Delicious.
:/ when your tender insidr your yacht is better than some family's day fishing boat.
WOW sick.
No one wears a life jacket?
Josh Smith Not practical
guess the navies of the world are not practical

More of the same please
Seems like a lot of unnecessary complexity to me.
Ridiculous antics...
Imagine being this poor, peasants.
That’s the cheapest design I’ve seen yet that owner should be ashamed of him or herself cheapskates
