Correct , when i search for those buisness class seats , its closer to 1.5 cpp . For example the first class flight in your example would put me at using 500k points
I think you should do a video on step by step process of actually finding those elite tier bookings. I think thats where the majority of people struggle
i think "pay yoursel back" deserves more recognition.. im a team transfer, BUT, when you pay yourself back you also using that money to book lets say airline ticket.. you pay yourself back $1000 then use a card that give you 5x point thats 5000pts.... but when redeeming 100,000pts for a flight you dont get any points, the way i like to think is its actually cost you 100000+5000pt not just 100000.. and not just 5000pt it also helps you meet the minimum spend on your next card, dont know if that make sense XD
Basically if you know you’re going to spend money where you can earn massive points, just pay yourself back and convert that into more points, fuckin brilliant
For the hotel CPP calculation, you should also factor in the taxes. The rate you were showing on screen was only the room rate that does not include applicable taxes.
Those point offers look good but I treat the points like "cash". I don't want to spend all these points I earned in 1 transaction. I rather save it up for multiple!
I consider gift cards as less valuable than cash because you are limited on how to spend them. Also you are forced to either leave a balance on the card or spend more cash at the retailer. It’s an interest free loan to the company
I find UR points also very valuable for topping off points for say Hilton 5th and IHG 4th night free. I always seem to be a little short to take advantage of say Hilton's 5th night free, UR allow me to move some points to cover it. Being able to get that 5th night $500 room (resort) with those points is great value, and with Hilton Taxes and Fees also are covered so the value is substantiation vs cash .
Really appreciate your videos John. They’ve helped me to really secure my understanding of how to maximize my credit card game. I currently have about 550,000 total combined points between my Capital One Venutre X, my Chase Trifecta set up (actually also have the Business Ink) and my Amex Gold. I know there are a few airlines that take all 3 like Air France. I want to use my combine points for some business class seats to Portugal with my wife. Am I correct that I can do this? What do I need to know?
When we transfer points to partner, do we have to use it right away? Or can I have those points equivalent to dollar at the partner and use them at a future date? If we use them at a future date, does the chase credit card account need to be active at that point?
Like others I’ve always been told credit cards are bad but I’ve been working on building my credit with an another card I’ve had for 3 years. I also recently got approved for the capital one savor one in June. Would it be a good idea to apply for a chase card as well or wait and if so how long.
But when is this cost effective when you use the preferred card? Like if you amass all those points, then transfer them to preferred card for more points, then transfer those points to flight/hotel partners....do you have to use the preferred and pay the 21% transaction fee?
thank you for you great information. im very new with this game. please shoe me how to book the flight from Houston to Vietnam with chase point , I do have 138k points. thank you so much🙏
So I want to maximize my Marriott Bonvoy points for a vacation. I know I can transfer Amex points directly to Marriott, but I also have many Capital One Points. Can I transfer my Capital one points to a transfer parter (ie Air Canada), and then re- transfer miles from Air Canada to Marriott Points?
It is really up to you. Th only difference is unlimited earns you 1.5 % on everything else while flex earns you 5% on rotating categories and 1% on others.
Great Vid. Does anyone know the answer to this? I want to Fly on Air Canada from Phoenix to Vancouver then transfer over to the Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Bangkok. Do I have to go through Customs in Vancouver and then go back thru Security again to go to Bangkok flight? Or am I able to walk from one flight to another without exiting the Airport? I’ve never flown thru Canada before so I was hoping someone here has done this before. Thanks everyone
I have a chase freedom unlimited card with some points. Is it possible for me to transfer those to a partner airline? I am not seeing a feature on the Chase portal to allow partner transfers from this card. I know transfer is available for Sapphire but not sure about Freedom Unlimited. Thanks
I don't think it is for Unlimited, BUT if you get approved for a Sapphire in the future, you can transfer your points from the Unlimited to the Sapphire and then utilize the benefits of the Sapphire with the points that came from the Unlimited. So, if you're willing to save your points, you can get more benefits from them in the future.
Is it ok to use points to redeem toward annual fee? Instead of 550, the fee is 440 I believe. No points earned on the annual fee anyway. Or is it better to pay the $550 annual fee and use the points for later.
The goal is to maximize your points. Using your points to pay for the annual fee is not the optimal use of your points. The optimal play would be to transfer your points to Hyatt or for international flights.
Is there an option to transfer points to travel partners from the Amazon prime card? Been looking for it but don't see it. Either I'm blind, or it doesn't exist
Would love a video of how you actually go about searching for availability when it comes to business class/first class seats
Correct , when i search for those buisness class seats , its closer to 1.5 cpp . For example the first class flight in your example would put me at using 500k points
Use seats. Aero

Didnt even think of that! very smart

This was great! Would love to see a step by step tho. Im staking points like crazy and I'll need to learn how to master these steps! Thanks a ton!
😮, my son shared your link with me. Amazing! I had no idea about this, and I learned so much. Thanks a lot ❤
Great video as always! You put out good useful content. Thanks for all the great info and keep up the great work.
Great job on TH-cam ♥️
We need more like this video . Thanks John
Should make a video of a real live booking
For the hotel CPP calculation, you should also factor in the taxes. The rate you were showing on screen was only the room rate that does not include applicable taxes.
if you stay in hotel using points, there is no tax
Best part of video is the Cava shoutout. Cava does bang ❗️ haha
Hey love your content. I’m hoping that you can make a video about the difference between the amex gold and the Amex gold business card.

I would never ever pay $450 for a night at any hotel any ways.. never.. ever
Do points expire once you transfer them to Air Canada if you don't have a flight planned?
Nor will i ever ride business class or 1st class if i had to pay in any shape of form.. unless i get fres upgrades or using somebody else's money...
is there a link you have that has current sign up bonuses that are elevated from their usual amount? not sure if that made sense...
How would you compare the ink cash with the flex ?
Does the travel partner benefit also work if you travel last minute? I usually book within 1-2 months. Thank you!
Question John what do think of Santander Unlimited credit card ❓
Is transfer partner only available for reserved and sapphire?
Is it better to book through the airline or the chase portal for the points?

Do we have a portal to check the Transfer Points offers across different Hotels / Airlines. You had showed one in your video.
So when you use the pay yourself back option does it cancel out the purchase?
love it

John, can you do a “Easily Redeem AMEX Points for Max Value?” video?
thank you for you great information. im very new with this game. please shoe me how to book the flight from Houston to Vietnam with chase point , I do have 138k points. thank you so much🙏
How did you get 2 million points?
So I want to maximize my Marriott Bonvoy points for a vacation. I know I can transfer Amex points directly to Marriott, but I also have many Capital One Points. Can I transfer my Capital one points to a transfer parter (ie Air Canada), and then re- transfer miles from Air Canada to Marriott Points?
Its Bullshit that the Chase bussines card will not allow transferring points to partners
I have chase from more then 16 years and never get reworked it and I ask no answer.
Is the transfer bonus points for aeroplan 20% or 10%?
Is the chase freedom student a good option for students or is it better to go for the chase freedom unlimited to start?
It is really up to you. Th only difference is unlimited earns you 1.5 % on everything else while flex earns you 5% on rotating categories and 1% on others.
How did you get bonus redemption point value?
Sometimes it gets offered randomly

no that credit card is only used to redeem amazon credits
cashback is the best way in my mind
no views in one minute? fell off.
Cava is trash. D tier. Nothing good at legacy place. Stop in Newton for pizza next time.
Chipotle? You’re killing me dog.
Hi John is it better to get chase points at 1.5x per $ spend or capital one venture x at 2x per $ spend ? to use for travel ?
