    I’m going to do a reading journal as soon as my new notebook arrives. Mine will not be a TBD in any format. It is strictly going to capture what I have read because life is too busy right now for goals and I don’t want it to be stressful. I love your setup.

      @@ErinSmith I like fantasy and one of my favorite books this year was Summoned by M.B. Thurman. We stayed at The Miller Tree Inn that she and her husband own in Forks, Washington in the US. I bought her book while we were there. The unfortunate thing is that I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it is the first in a series and she has not published the next book yet. I am really looking forward to reading the next one! Thankfully, the first is available on Amazon, so I assume the next one will be as well.

    Oh Quirky Cup stickers, my dream 😭♥️ Love all the spreads, the aesthetic, so pretty!! I don't have a Reading Journal, I prefer having a Commonplace Book, less setting up of spreads, more variety of things I could put in it, be it books, movies, random ideas, collages. Happy holidays, Erin!

    I love the color scheme/theme you’ve chosen for your reading bujo! I keep 2 reading journals. One is a bullet journal style where I track stats and reading goals like you have here, but my other reading journal is just a lined 7x9 moleskin where I write a review page of sorts for every book I read. I read between 150-200 books a year so I have definitely gotten mid-way through a book before I realized I’d already read it. Having this review journal helps me keep track of what I’ve read and why I liked/disliked it. I know Goodreads can do this too, but I LOVE paper and journals too much to just use a digital resource.

    • @ErinSmith
      @ErinSmith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice flip. In my 2022 reading journal (first dedicated reading journal ever - Previously I used my Commonplace book and 'Books I've read in My Life' spread in my bullet journal collection), I do 1 page per 5* book rating - when I feel like it NOT every 5* book....Mostly I decorate my spreads, do a few challenges/bingos, and list reading goals, reading tips, quotes, and keep stats. I am pretty consistent about logging my nightly reading in the monthly tracker and updating my 'Booklie' bookshelf when I finish books. I don't consolidate genre stats, although i do list books genres on the Monthly reading log. On my Booklie spread I 'inserted' a mini dutch-door to store my color codes for book ratings. Because I have a lot of blank pages left in my 2022 book [did not track/log any reading between May 2022 & Nov 22 because catastrophic Life happened], I'm also using it for 2023 reading journal until full. Your book is so cute! tfs!

      I use my HP Sprocket for that! I save four covers at a time to my phone and use the Sprocket app’s built in collage function to print all four on one sheet. Then I cut it up with scissors - it’s the only way I can think of so far to make sure they’re always the same size!

    I started my first reading journal this year and I had no idea what to write. So I tried to write a spoiler free paragraph about how I liked the book and what it was about sort of. But then who is going to read it and say huh I wish they didn’t spoil the book for me. So I think my 2023 will be more of a this happened and with these people and more like a bullet point type since I find myself reading a lot of books in a series. I wanna get a mini printer like your sprocket and there are a few good (enough) ones but the apps are rated SO badly, I'm afraid to buy a 100+€ mini printer for it to not work because the app won't do it's job 💀 Whats your experience with the sprocket and the accompanying app?

      It does glitch a bit sometimes and double print, or just not print at all and you have to restart the app which is annoying 😅 It’s not enough to make me want to stop using it though! Also - I bought mine secondhand on Facebook Marketplace 😉 so I only paid about AU$50. I’m thinking of switching to sticker paper and my home printer for this year, just because the paper is a lot thinner and I don’t think my current journal is quite as robust as this one was!

      @@ErinSmith Thank you so much for your quick response! I think I'll just stick to the public photo printers we got in drug stores here for now 🙇🏽‍♀️
