New sub here!! Love the new video! This really makes me want to put together a reading journal for 2024. Question. How did you do your peek a boo doors? They are so cute! I'm totally new to bullet journals.
Thanks so much!! I use a "scalloped scissors" from the craft store to cut the top page down. Make sure to measure out the width of your washi tape first so that your "peekaboo" only shows the washi tape design and not any of the plain white paper behind it. I hope that makes sense. It can be tricky to keep the scalloped scissors even with the page which is why I didn't film it (you'd only see the back of my head because I hunch over my desk to make sure I'm doing it right! 😅).
Your journal came out soooo pretty ! 🤍🌸 What's actually funny to me is that all the way back at the start if the year, I happened to see a post on pinterest of your first spread with the books and it inspired me immensily for my bullet journal. I also went with a cute witchy theme for my bujo for this year and now eight months later I fell into the reading journal rabbit hole and came full circle back to your journal. I didn't know it at the time that it was a reading journal spread and I would've been so inspired then, just like I am now, if I had. Thank you for the inspiration then and thank you again for this and I'm so happy to have found ypur actual video 🤍 Instant sub ✨
This is so cute! What do you use to print the book covers? Regular paper or sticky paper? And how do you size them? I want to start my very first reading journal and you’re so inspiring!
Hi! Thank you for watching! 💖 I copy the covers off Goodreads, paste them into a Google Doc, and resize them to be 1 inch wide. I usually do it at the end of the month so I can make the best use of the paper space. I just use regular printer paper and then tape them into the journal with a glue tape runner.
I've been down the bullet journal/book journal video rabbit hole for a while now and it never ceases to amaze me how much everyone talks about making your journal your own, but all they're doing is copying each other, and making the book more about the art, stickers and tape rather than actual content. Thank you for switching that up a little and making spreads that are useful for YOU and decorating with stuff that makes it personal, rather than the same ol' - same ol' that everyone else does. Also, I appreciate you not fussing over straight lines. Again, this all makes it more personal, which what it should be, rather than a piece of art.
