Pick up my new Titan 10.5 tomorrow from Headwaters. Had Boonedox landing gear and rudder installed and I am supper excited and can't wait to get it on the water. Got the LizardLick green. Even the wife liked it.
Two things that made a difference for me with the native Propel 13 : use 75w-90 auto gear lube in gearbox (makes kayak faster , smoother peddling and gets rid of groaning sound ) and spray silicone through seat material everywhere it comes in contact with the seat frame ( gets rid of the scrunching sound when moving in seat ). I like the 10.5 but am keeping the propel 13 :) .
I went with the Ultimate FX 13. Do you get a whirring/growling sound with every pedal stroke? Native already swapped out my original drive but I'm noticing it again?
I am a heavier guy, use the Pelican 120 NXT and very happy with it. Kayaking is a learning curve for a new comer, so far, so good. Moreover, I have a small pickup, use the bed extender and moving the boat is very easy and there is just enough room in my garage. One more thing in my case, the price was right.
I don’t like how low the stern is to the water. If you happen to have your anchor out to the rear in moderate chop I can foresee a problem. Would’ve been nice to have built that up a bit. Other than that it’s a nice yak.
That's pretty sick kayak bro. Good for you Greg. I'm going to pick up a kayak from bass pro shop next month. Something lots cheaper than what you got there Greg lol.
Greg I'm looking to purchase the Titan 10.5 as well. Have you had any problems with the steering controls breaking on your 13.5? I read up on alot of steering issues with the slayer 13 so I'm unsure if native is the way to go.
Awesome video. Funny to see just how much Dax pesters customers. That's for the shout out. More videos of the Titan will be on our page shortly for those interested.
Greg and I are talking about doing a comparison review of these two boats. I did a off the water comparison at the shop the other day. facebook.com/headwaterskayak/videos/1696773973676587/
Greg, it might paddle even faster, but . . . do you have your paddle flipped wrong? Couldn't see it too well from your video. The 10.5 seems like all positives for you and many others because, in addition to the ease of transporting it, its shorter length that would normally make standing and fishing an issue isn't there because of its great beam width. And, that turning advantage should let you work the water more efficiently. I guess I have watched 20+ videos of you skirting along a line of tall reeds hugging the edge in your old 13 and the big Titan. With this 10.5, you could literally swing back around if you feel like you passed by a spot too fast and hit it again. I look forward to seeing how it works out for you on future videos. Oh! And, 10.5 is functionally maxed out, I think. If one can't easily access the farthest points forward on a bow and back to stern, what good is it? On this one, you can reach everything you carry. Brad
glad you got a lighter boat, Greg! Makes a ton of sense. Of course....I'm used to fishing out of 33 pound Old Town Pack canoe with a double bladed paddle and a lowered high back seat....so I can't imagine all that weight anyway. I do envy the propel drive at times....but I've fished out of my boat for 10 years now...I'm pretty happy. Your new Titan 10.5 looks great!
Looked at the Titan 10.5 at Headwaters yesterday. Going to do a demo after Christmas but think I've already made up my mind that it will be my new kayak. Love the blue on they had with the Boonedox landing gear installed. Look forward to seeing how you like it. Great channel Greg.
Not gonna lie....I bought my 13.5 titan and then one week later they put it out that they were dropping two smaller sizes. I was a little bummed because at the time I would have preferred a smaller kayak but it had everything I wanted. After fishing out of it several times I was no longer bummed because when I'm on the water in it it's perfect! I do think that the 10.5 looks pretty amazing and I wonder if I would have chose it over the 13.5. I look forward to your review and possibly a review comparison video of the two?
Greg and I talked about getting together and doing some comparison videos. We have a demo 13.5 and Slayer 10 so it would be fun to get them all out and compare and contrast. IT would be good for us as a shop to so we can educate our customers with facts based on experience instead of specs.
An early Xmas for Greg. I was curious why Native decided on a square shaped stern? That size is gonna be a big seller especially after you demonstrated you can stand up. But then again you probably have Jedi balance skills.🙂
nice kayak , I think i will still need the bigger one as I'm a big guy lol... but the new still looks sturdy Let us know if your going to giveaway in contest or sell it... thanks good info buddy
Greg, we’ve never met but man I feel like a kindred brother to you. I’ve watched so many of your adventures and have agreed with all of your choices of kayaks. Last year I sold my Propel 10 and purchased a Gheenoe with 8HP motor thinking I’d do more off shore distant fishing. Never did so I just sold it and started the hunt for the perfect pedal yak. You are a lot younger and stronger than me so seeing you struggle to get the 13.5 on the truck and up the boat ramps helped me rule that out, even though it seemed perfect. I tried to like the Hobie Outback, in fact I did an on-water pedal of it yesterday. It felt strange compared to the 2 years of pedaling the Propel. I also smiled at your videos of the 12LT and thought that might be a good option so I tested one of those yesterday as well. You’d think that thing would be much lighter than the Propel 10 but learning that it is not and that it is a little more top heavy I decided to wait on the Titan 10.5 to get in stock locally. Went to bed happy with my decision and awoke to your happy video of you getting your new 10.5 on the water and in the truck. I thought, well they have them in stock on the west coast so they must have them here. Nope... no one even knew when one would be delivered to their warehouse. Went to AustinKayak and they had it in stock with free shipping and 15% off the Boon Dox landing gear! It’s on the way to south Florida right now! I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your journey with kayaks and fishing. I know from our travel TH-cam channel that you sometimes put these videos out and wonder if they make a difference. They do! I appreciate you and what you do! Native guys, this is the guy you should be sponsoring! How can you not? Thanks Greg! Owen

Looks awesome greg!!!

That looks like a nice kayak.

Nice kayak Greg. I'm also looking at some pedal kayaks but not ready to leave my ATAK 140 just yet. Good luck with the new yak!
That's a nice yak! Tight turns. I might have to look at one.
Thanks, paulo!
Nice advertisement😉 but really nice to get some good kayaking shots makes you want one
Nice boat!Looking forward for another fishing review with the new boat can't wait 😀😀
Thanks man! Excited to put this boat to the test
That kayak looks way more manageable
Looking at the smaller one as well. Live in a condo in sunnyvale. No storage. Might hang it in my sons room. Haha

Nice kayak, 2018 going to workout great for you! I just know it. Can’t wait for your new vids man. As always, thanks for the content!!
Thanks, Matt! We shall see!
Hi...how much your kayak titan 10.5 with padel drive ?
2500
Ahhh good ol Lodi lake haha
I went with the Ultimate FX 13. Do you get a whirring/growling sound with every pedal stroke? Native already swapped out my original drive but I'm noticing it again?
Nope, since I went to the flat side prop blade it's gone.
great video I enjoyed it.
Stoked for you man, it's going to be my 2018 boat as well.
I really gotta get me one of those. Awesome boat. 🤙🏻
Thanks, Kelly! so far, im impressed with it
Nice kayak ! Are there any big differences between Propel 10 and this Titan 10.5 ? Hve fun with your new boat !
Rudder control needs to be on both sides.
I am a heavier guy, use the Pelican 120 NXT and very happy with it. Kayaking is a learning curve for a new comer, so far, so good. This is shaping up to be my next boat. In a Slayer 13 now. I am 6'2 and weigh 240. Curious to see how the 10' Titan handles a guy my size.
I would imagine you'd be fine it in, more videos/reviews to come
I am 6-5 and 220 lbs .the slayer 10 handles me no problem.
I don’t like how low the stern is to the water. If you happen to have your anchor out to the rear in moderate chop I can foresee a problem. Would’ve been nice to have built that up a bit. Other than that it’s a nice yak.
Looks good!! awesome! hope it helps you catch a whole lot of fish....lol...thanks bro...good luck with you new kayak!!
I don't like the dry storage being at the low spot in the back hopefully there's no water in there when you try to open it
Awesome boat!
Can you say Merry Christmas to Greg!!! Nice boat man! I am super jealous!!! Ha ha ha ha
Merry Xmas indeed! lol
CONGRATULATIONS GREG...
Nice!
Hey Greg have u used the kayak in the bay or Ocean chasing Stripe Bass I'm an avid Surfcaster just want to have another option when I can't read them
Looking forward for the review on this, it looks awesome!
How was the turning before the rudder upgrade?
Looking good
Awesome. Looks like a great yak. I love a shorter version. Much easier to handle. Looking forward to seeing you fish out of it.
Congrats on the kayak. It should serve you well. 👍🏻
The big question is will you be coming back to Texas and fish Naconiche?
i really want to
That's pretty sick kayak bro. Good for you Greg. I'm going to pick up a kayak from bass pro shop next month. Something lots cheaper than what you got there Greg lol.
does this boat come with no propeller? just an old school paddle boat
I looked at the 10 and 10.5 but ended up getting the 10 because of the weight diff.
Awesome yak! GB!💯💪👊LET'S GO!!! Keep up the GRIND!!! Stay on top
THanks bro, thx for watching
That Titan has a huge rear deck.
I so need a peddle drive!
Get it man!
Awsome yak bro. Be good for traveling. That's why I went is a pa12
Looks awsome bro..
Greg I'm looking to purchase the Titan 10.5 as well. Have you had any problems with the steering controls breaking on your 13.5? I read up on alot of steering issues with the slayer 13 so I'm unsure if native is the way to go.
What is the maximum speed on the pedals and on the oars?
How much did this cost? And we’re there any upgrades?
2300. boonedox rudder
Greg Blanchard 2300? That’s honestly not that bad
The Titan 10.5 may be my next boat, but I need to know the rear deck dimensions behind the landing gear. Can anyone help?
Thank you for the sneak peak, I definitely have my eye on this kayak can’t wait to see you do more videos on it!
Awesome video. Funny to see just how much Dax pesters customers. That's for the shout out. More videos of the Titan will be on our page shortly for those interested.
You selling your old kayak ?
yep
Nice yak Greg!!! This reminds me of my Slayer 10 which I still love! Tight lines man!!
I know you dont have your electronics mounted yet, but how fast do you think your average cruising speed is?
How much you want for the old one?
Hey greg whats your thought's on the propel slayer 10

Headwaters Kayak that would be awesome. That could really help people out with making the right choice for themselves.
Would be cool to do a comparison with all three when the 12 comes out.
Nice boat! $2500 is a lot of money though haha

Looks like a great option for you. Appears to be more manueaverable, easy to transport, and just as stable and fast.
What up brothas...
nice kayak , I think i will still need the bigger one as I'm a big guy lol... but the new still looks sturdy
Let us know if your going to giveaway in contest or sell it... thanks good info buddy
Fishing_With_BIG-D lol that's a lot of money to give away. He mentioned in the video that he's selling it.
Try shortening the crank arms. Unicycle.com $50 changes the game for me.
Feels like I have seen this part of the video before .. hahahaha..
Nice let us know how it performs
I like the 10.5, but am excited to see what the final specs will be on the 12
High Tide we measured the 10.5 at 11'. The 12 is probably going to be awesome. Can't wait for march.

Its killing you not fishing right now, Isn't it?????
Yeah, it actually really sucks lol
You should do a giveaway with your old one
