I think, Anuar didn't explain the main reason for the teeth removal correctly. Generally, giving a sheep's head to your guest was a compulsory. Because a sheep's head meant that, as a representative of a certain tribe, the owner was hospitable. But if the owner didn't' remove the teeth, it meant that he had some kind of grudge against the guest. Which he couldn't express in words. There are many subtleties in how to present a sheep's head, and everything means something.

It's not the video's fault that you lack basic knowledge and jumped to a conclusion. Hate on British food is peddled exclusively by people who've never been, and people who use it to rag on the UK.
@@incapable_tortoise3703 Lots of people fall for the propaganda of "white people cant cook". We can though. We have the best cuisines in the world. All European food is based on good quality ingredients, so we have no need to put 10kg of spices to hide bad ingredients.

After watching this episode, I realized that I've been making plov this whole time without knowing it. I got some lamb meat from Costco because it is the cheapest protein there and some rump roast another cheap protein (haha) mix them in equal parts with lots of onions and carrots and spices, some basmati rice and a touch of cumin for color (not too much because it will taste like curry) turns out to be so good my children keep asking me Daddy can you make that rice dish again. now we know what it's called.
Plov is amazing and relatively easy thing to do, a lot of recipes out there:) In Russia it is kinda common thing to cook. If it is done right - it is even better:)
Yeah me too initially i wanted to make a lamb biryani then found out my indian spices in the bottle were all clumped and I believe the humidity attracted some sort of tiny spider that was crawling in it or some sort of mold im not sure… so i threw them all away guess they just sat there for way too long 😅but I had the rice and veggies and meat already cut up so I just cooked it with some ghee and salt and cumin and I loved it, I really like the texture of basmati just keeps its shape in individual separate grains
He made a remark about religion when hangover was mentioned. I just wanna add something. People who watch that video need to understand that Islam in Kazakhstan is not the type of Islam that they have in Middle East. People do drink alcohol here and are waaay more open-minded. And I'll add that many people in Kazakhstan aren't even religious
In a short way we are sunni and people in the middle east is shia And most of us don't drink alcohol but we do also care about Quran and follow the rules 60+% are sunni Muslim And we do care about the "haram" stuff as we have a special organisation to give haram approvals or not, almost every restaurant in Kazakhstan has an approval of this organisation
@@The_Qazaq_Guy Saudi arabia is majority sunni, syria is majority sunni, Lebanon has an almost equal ratio with sunnis being slightly more , Iraq has slightly more shia , Kuwait is majority sunni, Qatar is majority sunni. Iran is the only one with shia being a lot more than Sunnis

With the idea of animal you can't eat because it's a pet. I think the guy said it best of some might be a pet but others are food. I'm so glad you're doing a video on Kazakhstan! I hope you touch on the Soviet imposed famine in the 1930s and how that affected food culture. Also, had two students (brothers) from Kazkhstan. @@AnotherReincarnation_No84 hey, not trying to offend. And I'm not saying what is eaten now is bc of the famine. I'm asking how during the famine was food affected
I’m from Kazakhstan as well and I’m sorry about the first reply, pretty sure he thought you’re saying soviets influenced kazakh cuisine. However, he is right in saying that kazakh nomadic tribes have been eating such dishes for centuries. Soviets banned nomadic lifestyle as they feared it would be hard to control people who are constantly moving. People were forced to settle in the cities and had their cattle taken from them and spread among other people. Famines were caused by the soviets and killed hundreds of thousands of people but didn’t affect Kazakh cuisine at all. However, settling in the cities and development of agriculture did.

I lived in Kazakhstan for seven years. I like the simplicty of their food and the elegance of its presentation. Kurt and samsa are my fave snacks. I enjoyed Nauryz in K-Orda because I could eat free traditional dishes like plov and baursak.

I've been living in Kazakhstan for quite some time and the food here is amazing 😊 Come visit the country, you won't get disappointed :)
Вы из России приехали?
I would love all these dishes. Whoever wrote that comment prob likes some processed food
@@swatkabombonica4103he was raising a discussion, although with a quite provocative title. If you read his post fully, you'll see he doesn't think Kazakh food is bad himself
True that. ❤
I'm Kazakh and i agree our food it very simple. Meat, salt, potatoes and onions are basically the ingredients for almost every dish. It's so simple yet it brings me so much happiness. What's better than perfectly tender salty meat 😩
@4:50 Palau is called 'pulao' in india which is pretty much the same thing as what he made . This tells how much historically we all are intertwined.
India was a part of mogul impire, moguls are turkic as Kazakh, Turkish, Uzbek ect.
Every country has its own version of Plov
Like Pilaf in Iran
Pilav in Turkey
Pulav in Afghanistan
Palao in Pakistan
and Pulao in India etc
Norway must be on the list also, when the come to food grown in Norway and we dont have much, just Husmannskost, and we have sheapshead as a dinner as well. Very much fusion in Norway
Horse sausage Qazy is the best, nothing can beat it 😋
I've been to Kazakhstan - they most definitely do not have the worst food in the world, Plov, Samsa, kebabs, endless other central asian and Russian dishes; loved the food and cheap too
As someone who lives in Kyrgyzstan (Kazakhstan's neighbour to the south), and is often in Kazakhstan, I can confirm that the food in central asia brings together all the best from east and west. I get that the title was clickbait, but its a bit disappointing to see that. Central Asian food is awesome!
I have been binge watching this channel for a few days and I might say I really am impressed by how respectful, open minded and informed Sonny is with all the cuisines and cultures he is confronted with. He might not see this comment, but I still will show lots of support for his channel! We need more people like Sonny in this world!
I feel like the title of the video is misleading, I read it and thought "oh, he must be back in England." lmao
@@incapable_tortoise3703 I've travelled all over the UK and their traditional food is trash..the only good food from there is the ethnic foods that came by way of immigration..
@@incapable_tortoise3703been to England, lived in England…just like any place there are the good and bad foods. Traditional English food really is not that good overall. It has its gems though.
@@incapable_tortoise3703I live in the UK. It’s pretty bad. You will notice British food is not common in any other country.
In South Africa, Lamb is very much on the more expensive side ... weird how that is not the same in America (that is where Costco si from, right?)
@@lucindarishworth5526 cheap compared to other cuts of beef.
Lamb is sheep. Beef is cow.@dungareekogi2442
Tip: Never insult people who wholeheartedly welcome you and feed you their favourite food!
Kazakh cuisine is basically salted and seasoned meat with onions and vegetables… pretty good to me
24:01 'yeah, yeah yeah, I'm not eating it' then goes ahead to eat the eyeball 🤣🤣🤣
Borat "Are there any eyes left"
He made a remark about religion when hangover was mentioned. I just wanna add something. People who watch that video need to understand that Islam in Kazakhstan is not the type of Islam that they have in Middle East. People do drink alcohol here and are waaay more open-minded. And I'll add that many people in Kazakhstan aren't even religious
In a short way we are sunni and people in the middle east is shia
And most of us don't drink alcohol but we do also care about Quran and follow the rules
60+% are sunni Muslim
And we do care about the "haram" stuff as we have a special organisation to give haram approvals or not, almost every restaurant in Kazakhstan has an approval of this organisation
@@The_Qazaq_Guy most people in the middle east are sunni
@@Abd0_25 Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar??

Love how universal Palau is across the asian continent. It’s typically associated with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India but just as notable in the southern Russian to central Asian countries.
Kazakhstan has amazing food culture! ❤
With the idea of animal you can't eat because it's a pet. I think the guy said it best of some might be a pet but others are food. Rabbit, chicken, goat, squab/pigeon, lamb, etc is all semi-normal food still available in the US but people also have pets of those animals. One can still have pet rabbits but eat rabbit, you just aren't going to eat your pet when it dies.
Now I understand what Trump wanted to say😂
Wow!! I can't believe we get to see Bekruz again.. He was such a good guide on the Uzbek tour... Can't believe it's been 4-5 years since those episodes aired... You two still have great chemistry 😁

I ate meat in Germany. It is tasteless, to be honest.
Our Kazakh meat is absolutely delicious as we herd our cattle outside. We have big green pastures with good fresh grass.

I'm so glad you're doing a video on Kazakhstan! I hope you touch on the Soviet imposed famine in the 1930s and how that affected food culture. Also, had two students (brothers) from Kazkhstan.
Bekruz thanks, highly appreciate for advocating for kazakh cuisine. Btw good humor!!!!
