There are actually a variety of Cordilleran etags with different processes in making. Here's some of what I know as an Igorot:
Etag (clean) - salted and sun dried with cover to prevent flies and wrapped with paper after sun bathing for atleast 3 days.
Etag (raw) - salted and sun dried until maggots devour the decayed parts.
Sabeng - stored in sealed claypot soaked in lard and salt
Kiniing - smoke dried (salted or not)
I don't know of the other processes but these are actually my favorites.

I asked for some, and she told me it was squid. Like, squid jerky.

I have an amazing story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith.
So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana".
I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly…
I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling.
He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car.
A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

Bro. Get some therapy. If your faith sustains you that's fantastic, but you're pretty damn delusional if you think a random food review video youtube is the place to be sharing that. Faith is beautiful, but it should not thrown at people who are not ready to hear it. "Carrying a mark from apo whang Od is like having a piece of raw living history
    inked right into your skin
    It's not just a tattoo
    it's a story
The ultimate souvenir and a badge of honor that I'll be wearing as long as I'm kicking around this crazy world" -sonny 😍😍
it's been such an honor to be inked by Apo Whang-od..❤

i love seeing all of these other cultures in the world the traditions they pass on and the sheer sense of family overall even to outsiders always so kind hearted and understanding regardless of any outside reason or force. purely amazing to be able to witness and would be even more so to be a part of.

Whang-Od is from a remote village in the Cordillera region of the Philippines. It's in the mountainous interior north of the Philippines which has never been conquered and administered by the Spanish throughout their three centuries of stay in the country. Even during the American regime, government institutions and services arrived later in her area. That means registries of births , deaths, and marriages were nonexistent in her area when she was born.
Like most elders like her, Whang-Od most probably estimated her age. The usual practice is to base from their approximate ages during WW2. (i.e "I was this size during the war, so I was probably xxxx y/old"). In that process, many over- or under- estimate their actual ages some even by a decade or more.

The Philippines was an American colony for awhile. A lot of them speak Spanish still too and they colonized them before Americans did. Filipinos born before 1946 are considered US citizens.

Most people who interviews Apong Whang Od jump straight to getting a tattoo and interview.
I love that Sonny actually sat down and ate lunch with her. This must be so refreshing for her. Besides, a meal is the best way to put someone at ease.
Sonny and his crew are so great in not just educating about Whang Od but also knowing the culture she grew up in

I absolutely love watching this channel and seeing what Sonny gets into next, but this episode just felt like such a cool adventure. It didn't have like a tourist feel to it if that makes sense. It was like truly stepping away from what most of us would consider our modern day and immersing into a place that has its own pace, rules, and a vibe that just works.
