I like your shows, but I've decided to fast-forward over the parts where you make fun of the guitars. Don't stop. It gives me bad feels, like watching House Hunters, when they make fun of houses with unique features.
That would be hilarious to see people go crazy for the Zoom 505. I had one as a teenager in the 90s and I hated it so much that I swore off pedals almost entirely for around 20 years.
Old Zoom stuff is really interesting. There's a digital quality to it that you can't ignore, but they did do a few things well and stack with other drive pedals which is nice. I probably wouldn't have upgraded if I could get delay and reverb on at the same time
I adore my MultiStomp, Zoom landed in an amazing place with it. Somehow it’s both hi-fi and lo-fi at the same time, in a really nice way. Fantastic if you make weird stuff/shoegazey stuff.
That Soviet Russia guitar is like if you asked a 6 year old to draw guitar from memory then it materialized into existence through some kind of unspeakable black magic.
I've been using a wired IEM with a stereo/guitar cable loom and headphone amp on my board. It works, but this would be nice. Glad the technology is getting more accessible!
I’ve been gigging with the same Les Paul for 23 years just waiting for it to look reliced. Now I’m happy it still looks like new other than some cracks in the binding because everybody has a fake relic guitar and I have to assume %99 percent of them are a fake relic because I’ve seen very few guitar players that sound like they’ve been playing guitar long enough to wear one out. Including myself.
I'd rather a situation where Ryan is the anti-Josh and brings down the price of really expensive pedals somehow. Not because I think its actually what would happen or because Ryan bad, but it would just be kinda fun
Josh is the reason why I am buying all my old pedals now I just got a dod fx72 stereo bass flanger why because it’s got a real good thick chorus sound. I’m only missing the line 6 verbzilla.
1:14:55 That corrugated metal background is the same one used in the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident in Chicago in 1987! We just broke this case wide open boys! They did the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident! Case closed! 😂
I also kinda dig the Leather Les Paul. It's got 70s lounge lizard/psych vibes. Totally agree about the area around the pickups though. Take those studs out, and either find pickup surrounds big enough or perhaps put a piece of brass coloured metal that goes right the way down the body as a sort of pickguard.
If you want something really loud for reasonable money, the 100-Watt Marshall JCM 900 two speaker amp is very loud and somewhat portable. I don't know how much they are going for now but a few years ago you could get them for well under a grand.
I was pissed when Josh reviewed the Visual Sound Garagetone series. I have been trying since they were discontinued to complete the collection even though all those pedals sounds can be achieved in the TrueTone V3 series dual pedals as modified versions of some of those circuits do come up in the V3 series with some higher quality components. I used to be able to get these for $30 to $40 CAD. Now they cost the same as they did when they were brand new.
i was going to go quilter mach 3 myself. just for convince and grab and go. however; i will go with the tone block 202 most likely. clean power for surf and jazzy/blues/funky stuff. along with my surfybear and the teisco boost. jhs harmonic trem. then i can run my lpd pedals 1987 for marshall dirt and the boss sd1 for a sweet boost for that. i went back and forth so much on those options and demoing things. just the route i will end up taking.
The leather guitar is not unfixable. You can definitely fill the holes with wood filler, sand it smooth, and then do a solid finish, maybe a metallic even. Or you could veneer the top and do a dark back. And it shouldn’t be a problem filling the holes even if they’re small. If you absolutely need to fill them all the way through, fill them little by little with wood dust, baking soda and superglue.
I use the Katana 100 mkII head and a Harley Benton 2x12 for my band. It is loud enough for practice and at gigs it is turned down and mic’d up and sounds great
When I saw the video my thought was: oh, my Mosky silver horse (klon clone) is still awesome because look at how many other klon clones sound alike. People are sheep & are rewarding scalpers because of FOMO & they can't doing a little research and discovering what they like; They need to be told what is good.
To jam with live drummers and a bassist with a full stack , the guitar will need atleast a 100watt 2x12 combo amp with tubes. Like a good Peavey ValveKing or classic ect.
i play in one of the louder stoner rock bands in phoenix az. i play a jtm45 combo built by me and its loud enough to hang with a 100 watt half stack. get yourself a jtm45 or a tweed bassman tweed tremolux piggy back bandmaster. i use to 30 watt alnico and im way loud most clubs make me turn down
This video has me looking at used zoom 505 pedals. I had one in high school; I’m curious how it sounds 20 something years later. Also, I couldn’t get past the brass rivets on the back of the leather guitar. How annoying would those be while playing?
I had two bad monkeys that I traded for some really good gear and I’m happy. However I really want Josh to really praise the Eric Clapton Crossroads pedal.I have a lazy one in the box 🤪just waiting to move.
I didn't think of that, that JHS and Reverb set that whole thing up. I thought JHS was trying to drive up the prices of used pedals, so that they'd be less competition for his own products. Personally, if you give me a choice between paying $200 for a thirty year old pedal, and a brand new JHS pedal, I'm buying the Josh Scott pedal. edit: The Grilled Cheese 'level' control is a volume control, not a distortion control. The distortion is pre-set. I found one for $25 plus s/h on Reverb. Also, don't quote me, but I think Josh covered the Grilled Cheese.
Randomly after watching this I watced an old JHS video 'are analog pedals better than digital?' and in the video Josh does go on about how great the zoom 505 is....
I agree high power tube amps are too expensive lately. Bought a Boss Katana II Head and run it into a Mesa 2x12 cabinet with great results. Originally ran into a used an Orange 2x12 cabinet with good results as well.
Shit, I like the leather and studs. I might would have had the thing professional done. Some embossing would have been nice. Also the pin holes can be filled. ask me how I know. Yall making a mountain out of a mole hill.
The Danelectro old FOOD NAMES pedals are back in production unchanged and $50 a pop. My guess knowing the Dano owner he licenced them. They are not on Dano sight but Reverb. Sam Ash has the reproduced DOD pedals. Yes DOD and Digitech are back in production with the same techs and designer's all rehired. There will be new stuff but the popular old stuff is being made unchanged :-)
Lowest price on Reverb for a Bad Monkey today is $135 + free shipping (very good condish). Most expensive Bad Mikey pedal is $899 + 10 shipping!!! GMAFB! And of course,…JHS Pedals has is bogus $54,831.98 for a complete set of Chinese logo set of Bad Monkey,, Death Metal, Grunge, Delay, Chorus…etc. 11 pedals total.
Brian Wampler makes a $100 Pedal series, and release a video saying he liked the Bad Monkey tone stack and wanted to improve it back in December and nobody cared. JHS mentions it and people lose their marbles. JHS has a good track record when doing videos like this on an out of production pedal of pointing out that other people make a version of it, as an example of it being so prevalent in the market. If not naming the pedals/makers, at least mentioning it’s a thing. Which he did not do in the Monkey video. So the real chisme is, either Josh is snubbing Brian (doubt it,) or he’s doing him a solid by bumping up the Monkey. Who wants a $100 Bad Monkey/SD-1 inspired OD when you can get $50 Bad Monkeys all day long, and you probably already have an SD-1 used as a door stop?
600 for a bad monkey? No way man. At least here in the Netherlands I sold my bad monkey peak hype for 150 euros. It now goes for less than 100. I bought a wampler triumph in return and I couldn't be happier 🤘
"Leatherette" is not leather, but vinyl or other plastic. Leather or leatherette, wouldn't it effect the acoustic properties of the guitar for a layer of it to be glued to the top? This would be much much worse than the crudest poly finish.
I think Ryan has more influence on pedal purchases than he realizes. His budget and afford-a-board vids have influenced m purchases. Just sayin’. Also when will Ryan or Josh increase the value of Arion effects pedals?
Yeah id pull all the leather and rivets off the les paul..sand it back down..fill in holes and paint it...fix the back of neck..sand it smooth... bam..good guitar.
I hope he doeant ruin the ten dollar fab distorion, what a killer pedal. That wears out fast. Lmao. Danecho, killer delay pedal. Hardwire chorus. Caline reverb oedals omg what a killer reverb pedal.

How dare Josh Scott point out that we should just understand the equipment we have and practice more...
i stand by Josh and always will

I've still got mine lol
Still got mine knocking around somewhere, the pitch shifting with the expression pedal was hillarious 30 years ago and still is :D
I adore my MultiStomp, Zoom landed in an amazing place with it. Somehow it’s both hi-fi and lo-fi at the same time, in a really nice way. Fantastic if you make weird stuff/shoegazey stuff.
I loved that pedal so much that I still have 2 of them. They sound terrible in the best way!!!
That Soviet Russia guitar is like if you asked a 6 year old to draw guitar from memory then it materialized into existence through some kind of unspeakable black magic.
I'm excited for the whacka! Interested to see how it sounds.
First time I’ve ever had an ad featured on the show. Super cool!
I've been using a wired IEM with a stereo/guitar cable loom and headphone amp on my board. It works, but this would be nice. Glad the technology is getting more accessible!
Another option for this guitar is totally decking it out with snake skins and squirrel pelts. To the right buyer you could get at least $250.
I’ve been gigging with the same Les Paul for 23 years just waiting for it to look reliced. 55:35 Thanks for the huge shoutout. Zoom505 is the king!
Obviously Josh will cover the the DOD FX-66 Flashback Fuzz. It's the most underrated pedal of the Jason Lamb era and sounds just like a Klon.
I want Josh to to go full villian arc and raise the price of some of the Afford-A-Board brands thus jeopardizing Ryan's series.
I'd rather a situation where Ryan is the anti-Josh and brings down the price of really expensive pedals somehow. Not because I think its actually what would happen or because Ryan bad, but it would just be kinda fun
@@ThatMattGoodMusic Ryan takes boutique pedals and shows how unusable they are in a surf mix with the two Princetons. I like where this is going.
Say what you will the last clip sounded pretty good
It looks like the headstock was used for a fire poker stick or something.
Josh is the reason why I am buying all my old pedals now I just got a dod fx72 stereo bass flanger why because it’s got a real good thick chorus sound. I’m only missing the line 6 verbzilla.
The next-gen Whac-A pedal needs a jack to connect an expression pedal.
1:14:55 That corrugated metal background is the same one used in the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident in Chicago in 1987! We just broke this case wide open boys! They did the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident! Case closed! 😂
The headstock on the LP looks like it was broken, repaired, and resprayed. Look closely at 8:20
Please do a video Ryan of you relicing your les paul... i miss the painting and modding guitar vids....lets go !
Also some of my favorite videos he does. Loved the Squier mustang & super sonic vids

Is it still a guitar or it now a spanking paddle?
@@bigtguitars7312 Yes.
I have the a pair of Swamp Things in an old Twin that I converted to a 2x12. I think they're great with my Marshall style head.
Great song!
If you mean our song at the end, thank you! 😊
I love the leather les paul! I would totally shred that thing!
That’s Mike Tyson’s favorite guitar. A Leath Paul.
Thanks for playing our song. 🙂
I’ll send an MP3 file next time - sorry for the TH-cam link hassle!
Lol thanks. Great song btw

Being Australian I always thought fish taco was a euphemism, but I googled it to find it's actually a thing.

It should be black leather, with spiky chrome rivets. Could’ve been the BDSM LP.
Judas Priest cover band LP.
LMAO, dude the DOD death metal x86

Heh, Leath Paul.
What, no I don't have a lithp. Don't be thilly.
as far as the leather LP, I like it!
Dye the leather black and it's metal AF!
A fender tone Master Twin Reverb is the answer to your Camp problems and it's extremely light

replace the carpet with a hard floor and get some rugs you won't regret it
