Thank you for the amazing conversation! So many valuable and interesting thoughts. Josh and his team did so much cool stuff over the last few years, it is a huge inspiration for many builders worldwide, including me! :)
Great job! I wish you all the success in your venture! The more we can fill this world with people who love what they do like Josh, the better the world will be.
Great questions and discussion, Barrett. I'm new to your channel by way of the JHS show. I resonated very much with Josh's story. I'm a physics teacher and kinda got bored after about 10 yrs. Then I started to mess with things and ask questions much like Josh did. In the end I created something that grew and changed but that was true to who I was and it carried me through a 35 yr career.
Now, I gotta leave a positive comment. This show was great. Thanks, Barrett. Subscribed. As a Kentuckian, I appreciate the Wendell Berry references. My mind also goes to Voltaire's "Candide"--learn to tend your own garden.
Good Work for sure. People will start guessing the two brands that doesn't go along with Josh. My predictions are Klon Centaur and Vertex Effects. Without Josh, people will forget about the stompbox and move to digital route. Personally as a drummer, I'm addicted to guitar pedals just because of him. Currently collecting tube screamer topology from all the brands that I could get my hand on. We need the part two as soon as possible. 🙂
I think you're right about Bill Finnegan from Klon, but the other person I would guess is Mike Fuller from Fulltone. I love all these guys, but don't know any of them. Own more Fulltone than JHS pedals, but it's hard not to love Josh's infectious enthusiasm for pedals.
@@BarrettABrooksThose are the two brands that don't like Josh/JHS? Not trying to focus on the negative stuff. This interview is great! Just curious is all
@@Cribbage_with_J ah sorry wrong reference point, should’ve listened back to hear specifically what you were asking about. Yeah we didn’t get into that even in pre- or post-roll. It’s an interesting little nugget if anyone else knows the answer. Josh is so positive sum that I think he defaults to avoiding that kind of thing.
@@BarrettABrooks All good! Yeah it clearly bothers him on some level. To me, any companies flat out rejecting Josh/JHS for what are presumably petty reasons, those might be companies that I personally would think twice about supporting.
I would wager Mike Fuller from Fulltone and Bill Finnegan from Klon fame. I have no beef with any of these people, and love all of their stuff, but I own more Fulltone pedals than anything....
I really enjoyed this podcast/video, I have been a fan of JHS for several years now. As a Christian, what struck me about this talk about creativity and creatives, is how it relates to the Bible and how the Bible says that God created humanity in His image. So HE being the master creator also wanted us to be creative just like HIM!❤ Thanks for revealing this amazing realization to me! Josh is a real guy and I can relate to him and love his humility and honesty.
✨I care about you and how you do, so I’m gonna just say it: change your thumbnail to a more representative picture of Josh. In my, trying to be helpful opinion❤️, you can do better. Thanks for the great video! I hope your channel gets so big you can’t keep up. You’re a very smart and thoughtful young man. ✨
Appreciate the kind words and encouragement! We ask guests for the photo they'd most prefer to have included on the thumbnail and show art. That said, we're doing the minimum possible version of thumbnails right now, so I agree that we could be doing much more to make the thumbnails more interesting and engaging overall.
@@BarrettABrooks Well… he must like that shot of himself, so I’m wrong again in life. It’s happened before. Thanks for responding… above all… both of you please know, I had the best of intensions. (I’ll be ok!) As Josh would prolly say, jokingly.
@@BadChizzle Hahaha I took it with the best of intentions! I love the feedback and am only just now starting to invest more heavily in the TH-cam version of the show. So thank you, genuinely, for caring enough to share.

Couldn't agree more. More excitement, more love for the craft, more love for community. Josh is a gem!
I really enjoyed watching this conversation.

In terms of how to run a business and create team of truly passionate, committed creatives, Josh seems to have done an excellent job.

Curious which "two brands" Josh is referring to 🤔 1:15:20
I believe we were talking about the two brands Bud Ross made -- Ross Pedals and Kustom Amps.

Mxr and Ibanez is my hunch, based on nothing but the fact they haven’t collabed and are huge to pedal history
Inspiring interview!

At 1:26:51 Josh mimics doing a pedal demo with his hands, and says "i dont have a pedal here but...". Sitting in the middle of 6000 pedals. Ha!
Hahaha the irony!
