Sarhra im Denis mclaughlin you see my Scottish flags at top of the comments, we McLaughlin’s know our music, do u listen to Damion Rice? Amazing🏴🇮🇪
The yearning in the lyric, "I'll just sit tight, through shadows of the night" implies he's been sitting in one spot all night. The beautiful heartache and frustration we have all experienced on some level. I love your reaction and response to this. You sharing your hearts here lets this amazing music live on to another generation.
Welcome to the genius of Jeff Lynne! He is one of the greatest songwriters and singers of all time. Please continue to check ELO and Jeff out -- there is no bad ELO song!
Thank you so much for reacting to ELO again. The symphony and harmony are amazing. Please check out “Midnight Blue” by then. It’s really pretty! Hope y’all had a good weekend!
Hi guys. As has been mentioned, they performed this song live at Wembley Stadium, and not only was it fantastic, but the light show was amazing. It also shows people dancing along in the crowd as well. I think you would love it.
Love ELO, thanks for reacting! Please go down the rabbit hole: Strange Magic, Sweet Talkin Woman, Living Thing, Mr. Blue Sky, Turn to Stone, and Hold on to Your Dreams, are all great songs.
For us older people, reaching somebody on a telephone was hard because first of all they would have to be at home, then the phone has to be clear meaning not busy, because until car waiting came along only one person at a time could occupy the telephone line. So if you are missing somebody you’re having a fight with a girl, and all you get is a busy signal for hours, it gets very frustrating
I would hope that Jeff Lynne would see this. If he doesn't know already what he has done for us this video illustrates it quite well. He has greatly benefited the soul and spirit of every individual who has connected with his music. Telephone Line brings out absolute tears of joy in every reaction video I have ever seen. He is beyond special. The Beatles made me look up into the sky in amazement while ELO made me do the same only with tears running down my face.❤
Jeff Lynne is a musical genius ! When my brother brought this album home in the 70s, this song and Livin' Thing became 2 of my all-time faves. Gotta do those 2 from Wembley Stadium !!!
Yes, this is 1975 or 1976...pre cell phone, pre personal computer...you had to leave a message if a person had a message machine (very select few had them).
There you go again making my memories come up front!!....may your lives be blessed for the music that you share....I have love for you two for this!....🥰
I saw ELO Live twice in the 70’s! At the Outdoor Stadium in Ca. they had a UFO being carried by a Helicopter come in and Hover Over the Stadium with blinking lights, they also had a big Purple hot air balloon with ELO on it, and an Incredible Laser Beam Light Show!! AMAZING!! Their Lead Singer-Songwriter Jeff Lynn was also a member of the Supergroup The Traveling Wilburys a band made up of LEGENDS! Jeff is a MUSICAL GENIUS!!
Hello, From Chile 🇨🇱 my friends, muchos saludos para ustedes. . Gusto en saludarlos
They were AMAZING in concert. And,back then, you could, sometimes sneak in a little something, something to enhance the experience 😊 but it was definitely not necessary to experience the genius of ELO! Loved growing up in the 70's. ❤
Jeff Lynne was heavily influenced by The Beatles (and even collaborated on various tracks with former Beatles' members)....you can really hear that influence in this magical song!
Man everytime i hear this song i think of the adam sandler movie where he calls steve Buscemi and apologizes and he puts the lipstick on 😂😂😂. First time here yall feelin the vibe fr you got my sub 😊
RECOMMENDATION: Don’t miss out. Grew up during these great years. My opinion: A Singer so good; 2nd to Elvis. I’m sure you’ll be impressed if you haven’t checked yet. Group: The Guess Who Lead singer: Burton Cummings (Singer/Songwriter) Song: Stand Tall History: His First try after his break up with the group was a number one hit song! He just can’t miss!
Next up from ELO should be Standin' In the Rain-it's the complete opposite of Mr. Blue Sky with cool sound effects and the violins sounding like rain pouring down.
elo wrote so mnay classic sounding songs in v 70s, so many hits, vis frm 76 i tink?,jeff sang vis a cple yrs ago live- try it!, vey did many stykles of music n always classical, great ibfushion of sounds, skilled compositon.
They used the American phone ring, cuz the English version wasn't as good. Jeff Lynne: Lead Singer Guitar Lyricist Composer Producer Pretty much w/o him, there was no ELO.
This song captures what it was like back when the landlines were the only way to stay in touch with someone you loved... or wanted to love...
When your parents could find you

This albums tour was the first concert I ever went to! ELO and Starcastle!
The song when someone realizes the break up was a mistake.
ELO incorporated real strings in their music, great harmonies, melodies and arrangements. Glad to see you guys enjoying it. Thanks for sharing!

ELO rules!
Just remember... Jeff Lynn might wander this world in a humanly appearance, but he clearly is from somewhere else, between the stars.

ELO were the first group to use electronics in music.
Next up from ELO should be Standin' In the Rain-it's the complete opposite of Mr. Blue Sky with cool sound effects and the violins sounding like rain pouring down.

My take 😢, he's aching. Mourning the loss of a love. Did y'all even listen to ALL the words 😅. He's living in twilight, he says give me some time. 👌🤝
You can't get a hell bill unless she got a country girl
The best and saddest song about being ghosted lol 🤣

Should be Sir Jef. Wake up music world , man is a pure genius 🙏🏴🏴
Back when this was written there were no texts or anything of that nature and it was much more difficult to reach someone
Must do the live version of this song from Jeff Lynne's ELO, LIVE FROM WEMBLEY CONCERT.
Evil Woman Just saying it's another exceptional song on another level.

You can hear a lot of Beatles influence in ELOs music.
They used the American phone ring, cuz the English version wasn't as good.
