      Is it enough to get the plane if the layover is only 1:30m at the DFW airport??

      My pleasure. I also had the problem and that's why I made the video so that you can adjust to it. ATTENTION: after the baggage belt there is another control !!! Dogs are also used to check for drugs. At this point you have to go through it INDIVIDUALLY. A long line quickly forms here ... Please take that into account!

      @@adameve2789 90 min is very close! If everything goes well, you can do it in 60 minutes. But that only works once a year ... I did it in 60 minutes because I was sitting in the very front of the plane (row 7). I ran to immigration. There all ATM devices were empty because no planes had landed in front of me. And at the immigration officer there is only a short queue etc ... Most of the time this is not the case and you have to wait in many places and walk or run a lot ... therefore 90 minutes is damn close but possible

    • @HansPeterEndler

      @@adameve2789 only if you have prepared yourself well. First you need a seat as far forward as possible and then good luck that the Migration Hall is empty and that the queue below is not too long and then the drug dogs all delay. In any case, make sure that you do NOT make any mistakes when browsing! For example, water in your hand luggage. Then you can do it in 1 hour, but 1.5 hours. is already close ...

    DFW is the most difficult confusing airport to navigate I have ever been. I worked for airline for 32 years and am airport savy. ATL is the largest and busiest airport and is easy to navigate by far.

      In DFW is it not nessesary to Re-Check your Baggage 🧳… all you have to do to check in your Baggage by ITI (international to international) to destination airport !!! That’s is…

      @@HansPeterEndler Suppose you flew your international with KLM and you have a layover in DFW to fly domestic on United. We would then need to collect our bags and check back in. The layover is 2 hours. Both parents have TSA pre-check and then four younger kids. Would a 2-hour layover be long enough if say Dad went and got the 2 checked bags and re-checked in?

      You'll have to go through TSA security again once you go through customs and immigration, but, you'll give the slip to the agent in line and then you're good to go to TSA security.

    hey! I’m arriving at Terminal D, and then I have to take another plane to Hartford, CT. As I am coming from an international flight, do I need to pick up my luggage before taking my second flight? Or will it be taken to my final destination? Thanks!

    • @HansPeterEndler

      You must check your baggage at the check-in counter as ITI baggage. You can only be sure that you can walk past the baggage carousel if you have said so at the check-in counter and they have attached the ITI banderole to your suitcase. If no ITI sticker is attached to the suitcase, you must first pick up your luggage at the baggage carousel and check it in again...

    Hello Hans. A nice helpful video. I have a question for you.. i hope you can answer me. Im from south america, in June 2023 i will flight to kalispell montana to visit the glacier park. The flight lands DFW as first US airport at 5:30am. The flight connection to Kalispell takes off at 8:30am, so.. i have a little less than 3 hours to go through inmigration and customs. Do you think a 2 hours and a have are enought time for all that?. Since i have no other option, thats the only flight i can catch.

      Usually the time window should be enough. If I were you, I would prepare a few things to be really sure.
      1. Book a seat in the aisle and NOT at the window!!!
      2. Book a row of seats as far forward as possible!!! So you are before everyone else at the APC terminals (Automatic Passport Control) !!! Because this is where the traffic jam begins!!!
      3. Have your luggage checked through !!! DALLAS is one of the few airfields where you can check your luggage WITHOUT having to pick up the suitcase after the migration and check it in again. That means ITI (International to International Seamless Baggage Service) If you check in your luggage in South America you HAVE to say “… Check in with ITI !!!” when you check in !!! That saves a lot of time!!! With Amarican Airline this was possible. Good luck.

    hello good morning, first thank you so much for your video, second,
    I have a stopover at this airport, do I have to pick up my bags somewhere? Or only when I got off the plane, I go to immigration controls without having to look for my checked baggage. ? Thank you

    • @HansPeterEndler
      @HansPeterEndler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Only if your luggage is checked through !!! DALLAS is one of the few airfields where you can check your luggage WITHOUT having to pick up the suitcase after the migration and check it in again. That means ITI (International to International Seamless Baggage Service) If you check in your luggage you HAVE to say “… Check in with ITI !!!” when you check in !!! That saves a lot of time!!! With Amarican Airline this was possible.
      2. The luggage belt it dowmstairs behind the Imigration! (Video Position 5:50) There is no other way possible... When your luggage is checked through (ITI) you can pass the lugagge belt and go strait to the security (Video Position 6:18) .... look at my video!
      Good luck.

    • @HansPeterEndler
      @HansPeterEndler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you get off the plane, go DIRECTLY to the ATMs and stand in line at immigration WITHOUT your luggage! There is only one way for international flights!!!As shown in the video... AFTER immigration you go down the stairs to the baggage carousel. When the baggage has been checked through to the final destination airport, you can simply walk past the baggage carousel. But you MUST say when checking in the luggage "... please Check the Baggage to the final destination by ITI…" ITI = International to International. If not, you'll have to pick it up first and check it back in manually.

      @@alisonsheryll7176 thank you ☺️ yes I do … to your question: yes in your case you MUST tell them during check in at London airport that your luggage 🧳 should be checked in by ITI to you final destination!!! Thank you sir for this informative video... I want to ask something... in your video, you mentioned that for those who have connecting flights, we need to turn right to reach the check-in counter for those who have connecting flights. Is this counter applicable for all kinds of flights or only for international? Because this July, I will be flying thru Qatar Airways and our arrival will be in Terminal D and our domestic connecting flight to our final destination is located in Terminal A with American Airlines. They will accept our check-in luggage in this Terminal D counter that you mentioned? Or do we need to carry all of our check-in luggage all the way to Terminal A to check-in for our domestic connecting flight? For what I know, this check-in ITI only applicable for those flying with same airline company from the country of origin to their final destination whereas in our case we are going to fly with Qatar Airways starting here in UAE then change airplane company in DFW with American Airlines.. Hope you can help me with this queries because my travelling with 3 little children and we would like to maximise the luggage allowance that Qatar Airways provided.

    • @boostbull7789
      @boostbull7789 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hope this helps as I almost always fly through DFW when coming back home. When you go through customs and have ANY connecting flight, you get your bags and then follow the sign to the American Airlines recheck desk. Once you recheck your bags, you go through security, and then look for the Skytrain signs and take it to Terminal A.
      Edit: Qatar and American are both OneWorld alliance airlines, so there shouldn’t be any problems at the desk
