  • On 2nd October, 2022, the UN's International Day of Nonviolence, we begin the Second Series of Ahimsa Conversations with thanks to all those who have supported and encouraged this effort. The second series opens with the blessings of Fr. Timothy Radcliffe who has explored varied dimensions of nonviolence and worked to address and solve conflicts.
We are all pilgrims on the way to finding out who we are thus the fullness of identity is ahead of us. Timothy says this on the basis of his experience as a Dominican friar, a scholar and as an activist engaged in multi-faith dialogs. Here he reflects on the origins of the idea of nonviolence and universal peace in the pre-Christian traditions as well as in Christianity. Timothy pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's contribution to highlighting the nonviolence inherent in the origins of Christianity and shares his confidence that we can overcome the current atmosphere of polarization.
