Ahimsa Conversations
India
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 ม.ค. 2020
Ahimsa Conversations is a platform for reflections on the possibility of nonviolence and the nature of violence. This platform, created and curated by Rajni Bakshi, explores how nonviolence is actionable and effective -- as a way of life and as a method of political action.
The dynamic between violence and nonviolence is a perennial concern of our species and some conversations reflect that long arc of history. But the focus is on the present moment - a time when anger and hatred seem to proliferate and polarize people, even within families.
Ahimsa Conversations includes voices of those actively working with nonviolence as well as those whose experience in varied fields throws light on its promise and challenges.
Rajni Bakshi is a journalist and an author of three major books and various monographs. She has written for leading English and Hindi newspapers and magazines for over 40 years. Her book 'Bazaars, Conversations and Freedom' won the Vodafone-Crossword non-fiction award.

The attitude of pak towards IND will not change even if kashmir problem is resolved.
I love vivek ji
Good thank you
Nonsensical, dharma has nothing to do with belonging by definition. What you are hinting at is an emotional feeling, which makes us seek social contact called searching for belonging.
Thank you for holding this conversation ! Quite amazed to hear the Manders connection with HH Dalai Lama going right from 1959 onwards! Also lovely to know that for 1 act of hatred, he witnessed 3 acts of kindness! I loved Rajni's questions : esp asking what does non-violence mean to Harsh given the partisan views about him? And then following it up with : how about some compassion for the indifferent? :)
Thank you for having this conversation. Amazing how the Sarabhai household (during Mallika's childhood) would resolve their points of differences - and the choice of a pink fiat :) was settled over dinner time conversations. I was puzzled that Mallika thinks that the basic instinct of a human (and of a child) is violence. Why someone of her genepool and upbringing would think so? - I wondered.
Its Ahimsa conversation #13

It is a pity that this wonderful and largely unknown story of victims of Nazi oppression in Italy initiating steps for recognition and reconciliation has so few views.

If anyone listens to this, they'll turn vegetarian...better yet, vegan. Thank you Ananthu-ji for your presence in Bangalore last week
I love this project, Rajni!

Extremely relevant in today's context.
Reason and rationality will not help you live with your parents, with your spouse, or help govern a society. It won't help you in poetry, philosophy or anything meaningful in life apart from scientific pursuits.
❤✌
Im watching this in early November 2023 during the intensity of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict escalation.... Thank you so very very much for the amazing life that you are living, the leadership and courage and compassion that you are embodying. Your son would be so incredibly proud. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. May the world know peace.
बहुत खूब 🌹
hello ma'am, just read your article in The Indian Express & it was nice as a student interested in all these things I really loved how these info are coming into mainstream as they are eye-opening yet also explaining the paranoia of powers & gave me a new perspective over looking into other things & how most of our life experiences & happenings are not Entirely Black & White as there exists 100's 0f shades of Grey in between, Drawing on spectrum instead of being Binary.
also loved the story of Stanislav Petrov
I am here after your article in Indian express today...love your work ma'am ❤👌
Lot of sense in the message 🎉
Ma’am read your article today in Indian express, well written.
Felt so good and clear about NBA s approach to protest ...coming from Nandini my school mate ...fighting against the state is so tough and you guys at NBA provided the right guidance strength and ammunition to the affected people ...teaching people to fight for their rights peacefully but forcefully ...the dam still happened but with lot of caveats and that is the duchess of this movement ....
Thank you so much! This means a lot!
Very interesting and engaging 🎉
Great initiative ❤❤keep it up
I saw your article in today's newspaper and it was really good ,you raised very genuine issues, how the devotion to the god of devotees is sparkled by some fanatics for their political goals .
Yaa I too read the article "The Gentle Hanuman" It was really good.
I do like this man. No body is perfect but he is much near to it, as far as his thoughts go ! Well done, madam Rajani Bakshi, Thanks a lot!!
This lecture is a true gold. Thankyou and my sincere pranam at your feet.
Some violent criminals can only defeated by using violence. Only naive fools or cowards would believe that Hitler could have been defeated non violently.
There are forced conversions of the small minority of Hindus left in Pakistan. This is condemnable.
Pakistan which is Islamic by Constitution complaining about Hindutwa is laughable.
Hindus are not fundamentalists by nature. *Dr. Hoodbhoy has innate hatred against India.* There was no democracy anywhere in the world thousand years back.
Dr. Hoodbhoy disngenously refused to talk about the appreciation of Bhagwad Gita by Oppenheimer.
*India is not based on Ahimsa.* Both Ramayan and Mahabharat are based on waging war on evil forces.
Plastic surgery was done by Shushruta in India. *India hating Hoodbhoy ridiculed it without reading history.*
*Both Iran and Turkey are theocratic States, not worthy of praise.*
AI can give the users the illusion that they are getting the truth. There is built in bias and political correctness in AI results. *What is being fed to people is not accidental either in Search Results or Social Media Posts or ChatGPT Results.*
