Tysm. My motor mount was completely caved in. 🤦🏽♀️🥲 I’m a 25 year old woman with some simple car repairs under my belt. This one was a lil more involved but I still managed. Took me 3 hours only cus I struggled getting the mount to line up when putting the new one in, but I got it. The car runs like butter now. No vibrations, no clunks, it’s truly amazing. Ty for your knowledge especially the torque specs 💁🏽♀️ gonna try and replace the lower torque mount in a few weeks too but it’s a night and day difference just from replacing this one. 😇
I can't tell you how helpful and cost-saving your videos have been. Thank you so much. My question is about the torque settings at the end of this video. What you did here makes more sense to me. However, in my Haynes Repair Manual, it says that I should torque the two 17mm "mount-to-body" bolts to 69 lb.-ft, and the 19mm "mount-to-engine" nut and bolt to 47 lb.-ft. It doesn't seem to make sense to me that I should tighten the smaller bolts more than the larger ones. I just wanted to confirm that I should ignore the Haynes Manual and just stick to what you did here. Thanks again Mr.Ranger.
Great video. Only thing I want to point out which might or might not be important is you mixed up the torque specs for the bracket to engine bolts with the mount to body bolts. It's the other way around according to the Hanes manual
Thank you for this video!! Just replaced this mount today and did the torque mount a few days ago when I did the oil change. I was quoted $1247 to replace all of them although I feel that’s reasonable I just don’t have the money.
A good way to tell is drive at highway speed and accelerate quickly. You'll feel shaking and wobbling til you let off the throttle. Or while parked, put the car in drive and tap the throttle while keeping your other foot on the brake. Check for excessive engine movement.
I have a Honda Civic LX 2012. The mechanic said I need to change the same exact engine mount as shown in this video with the washer fluid flask next to it. I am a bit confused though on the labelling. He said to get the right front motor mount in front of the passenger seat but he said its actually called the left engine motor mount when searching online for the part. is he correct?
what size are the bolts that mount the bracket to the mount and the body? I have a 12 lx mine mounts with one bolt to the body and one threaded stub and nut to the mount
Make sure to fully tighten the bolts after lowering the jack supporting the engine, don't tighten the bolts while the engine is jacked up. Also use OEM mounts.
Fantastic video. Why anti-seize on the bolts? I feel like it's the other way around and that you need Loctite thread lock on there, no? These parts experience a lot of vibration.
Question - I just replaced the mount last night. One of the bolts, that attaches to the frame of the car, will not thread back in. Did you experience this? If yes, can you please let me know what you did to resolve the issue? Thank you in advance.
If I'm replacing all 3 how should I do that? Follow this procedure, then replacing the transmission mount loosen the engine mount first, then hand tighten both and torque both?
For this vehicle, is there only 1 engine mount place? Thanks for the video btw. Going to the dealership tom for a quote.. Not sure if this is something I should just do myself. Would need to buy some tools.

Follow up question, how do you know your transmission mount is bad? You can visually inspect the right side engine mount, but what about the left?
I get really rough vibration when putting it on reverse and a little less on drive (specially at the front seats and dash) and also jutters when i press/release the gas pedal and just recently the air intake hose split at one of the inner joints. Are these symptoms of bad engine mounts?
Had the same problem. Saw that the air intake hose was split and was loosing compression but realized that was due to vibrations of the failed front right engine mount.
Hello, what type of bolt is securing the bracket to the transmission mount? Im having a hard time being able to separate the two units from each other to be able to stick the new mount in with the old bracket. Id really appreciate your feedback.
The engine has to be supported when you remove the motor mount because the mounts are holding the engine in. When you remove or reinstall the mount, you jack up the engine a tiny bit, maybe less than few inches.
Probably one of best videos out there. Its a little confusing on how people start remove that nut and bolt on the engine mount, but here this guy went straight to remove two bottom bolts first. Is there any particular reason why you did that?
I removed all the bolts/nuts, but some how I was not able to remove engine mount. Something is preventing the motor mount, may it is the top bolt bend slightly. Don`t know how to solve it.

On my 2015 civic lx when I'm stopped but in gear my car vibrates. After watching the videos at first I thought it could be the motor mounts. Then I saw a comment saying it vibrates and makes noise when accelerating if motor mounts are broken. The vibration goes away on mine.
