We purchased the part from Parts geeks and a few tools from Harbor Freight and it saved us hundreds of dollars. As long as you have the where with all to accomplish a task like this; go for it! Tysm. My motor mount was completely caved in. 🤦🏽‍♀️🥲 I’m a 25 year old woman with some simple car repairs under my belt. This one was a lil more involved but I still managed. Took me 3 hours only cus I struggled getting the mount to line up when putting the new one in, but I got it. The car runs like butter now. No vibrations, no clunks, it’s truly amazing. Ty for your knowledge especially the torque specs 💁🏽‍♀️ gonna try and replace the lower torque mount in a few weeks too but it’s a night and day difference just from replacing this one. 😇

I can't tell you how helpful and cost-saving your videos have been. Thank you so much. My question is about the torque settings at the end of this video. What you did here makes more sense to me. However, in my Haynes Repair Manual, it says that I should torque the two 17mm "mount-to-body" bolts to 69 lb.-ft, and the 19mm "mount-to-engine" nut and bolt to 47 lb.-ft. It doesn't seem to make sense to me that I should tighten the smaller bolts more than the larger ones. I just wanted to confirm that I should ignore the Haynes Manual and just stick to what you did here. Thanks again Mr.Ranger.

Great video. Only thing I want to point out which might or might not be important is you mixed up the torque specs for the bracket to engine bolts with the mount to body bolts. It's the other way around according to the Hanes manual

A good way to tell is drive at highway speed and accelerate quickly. You'll feel shaking and wobbling til you let off the throttle. Or while parked, put the car in drive and tap the throttle while keeping your other foot on the brake. Check for excessive engine movement.

The engine has to be supported when you remove the motor mount because the mounts are holding the engine in. When you remove or reinstall the mount, you jack up the engine a tiny bit, maybe less than few inches.

Hey I have a 2015 civic exl with 68k miles, I bought it used when it had 50k miles for really cheap. But recently after 65k miles I noticed the vibration when idling is more pronounced, and when I put the car in drive with the E BRAKE on I pop the hood and can barely see the engine vibrating a tiny bit, however when I turn the ac on the vibration inside the car seems to smooth out but when I check in drive with E brake and AC on the engine shakes badly, and even hear some clunking , I know it’s the not the serpentine belt tensioner because I replaced that. I know I’m a year late but need to replace my mount too. As the other guys said, mine doesn’t come with the aluminum top part either, also I’m not going with the dealership as the part is like 200 more expensive. Looked it up and the socket needed is an EP24 external torx

Requires a special socket. Shop manual says you need to replace the whole mount if you remove that bolt.

@MrRangerZr1 Thank you for this video! My 2015 LX manual with 25k miles does the dreaded shudder/wheel hop while taking off in first gear. Here is a video of my e-brake loaded first gear. th-cam.com/video/7Cemx3bLIqA/w-d-xo.html See how the mount torques like crazy? This is most likely the cause of my issues correct?
