Battery changers are essential for RC and FPV hobby. If you want to fly, need LiPo batteries and you need a lot of them. And then, you need a charger, or chargers to charge all the batteries fast and safe.
Here comes the Gens Ace IMARS DUAL, “smart” dual channel, 600W charger that has a few very useful options. Yes, it can change, balance and discharge LiPo, LiIon, LiHV, LiFe and NiMH. But on top of that it can act as a bench power supply thanks to DigitalPower option and as fast discharger with External Discharge device!
Let’s take a look at what is what with the Gens Ace IMARS Dual smart charger

Wow! I hope that this charger sets the bar for features that all chargers SHOULD HAVE!

If you got some spare car headlight bulbs.. they dissapate 55w at 12V(or 13,9V?) If you got 4 you can solder 2x2 in searies and put them parallel. I use total of 2 in series, set my charger to 110W discharge and put everythink away that is somewhat flamable.. 😂 they fet serious hot..
P.s. i am a big fan of the toolkit rc m6.. got 2 of them.. after firmware update they had ext discharge too

I had bought my last charger 9 years ago, a Graupner Ultramat 16S, heavy like a brick, but rock, rock solid.
All the portable ones I had gotten for testing died sooner or later. The Ultramat is also portable but less convenient due to size and weight and of cause fan, but it is powerfull and robust.

The discharge was both innovativ and very simple. There is no balance connector on the backside. Most other charger discarge using the normal port and do regenerative charging on the input side to speed things up. Not sure what I prefer... probably something with a dedicated load connector instead... but yet to see that.

How does one do the firmware update on this charger? All videos up to this moment are void of providing any successful help. Have any insights on this maintenance detail? Thanks in advance.

    USB A to USB A? That’s a fail..

You can Charge your Smartphone or whatever from the usb port and with this cables you can do firmware upgrade

@@sorenb.4173 A to A cable is not allowed by the USB spec. If they wanted on the go functionality, they should have used a USB C port.
This cable can ruin the ports if you use it on something else.
