Everyone’s sleeping on the bose system! That and the camera are two unexpected favorites with this car. Sorry for all the comments. Commenting as we’re watching haha.
I went 2024 1LT with Performance Exhaust and PPF on the front, for $67k. Nice exhaust, 10 speaker Bose, leather everything, power everything, digital rearview mirror, remote start... It doesn't need anything else... Perfect sports car, I didn't see the point of spending another $7k. The mirror you like in the video, is now standard on the 2024 model...
I love your thinking. Have you ever thought that you don’t even need the standard equipment on a one LT? I’m curious if anyone would be in for a 3 to 400 hp turbo four-cylinder or six cylinder. I really think GM should take the team that made this and do another Fiero type four cylinder car for 40,000
Very well thought out video! I’ve seen a bunch of C8 reviews, but you’re the first to point out the fact that it’s really hard to see cars driving alongside. Also liked the tape measure showing the height before and after.
The best way to improve blind-spot visibility is with Paragon's external rear view mirrors, which are convex on both sides and blue-tinted to reduce headlight glare...these are utterly fantastic. Swap them out in 10 minutes. Yeah, the view out the rear is small but you can clearly distinguish cars from say, a kangaroo. As far as the other stuff, I'd like the Bose, but the base audio is pretty decent. I have no interest in the PDR, front lift (haven't hit anything yet), head's up display, garage door remote (my door needs a hi-security opener), folding mirrors (they still fold), heated/cooled seats (I'm in FL and BTW the seats are not cooled, just vented), and navigation (Google's fantastic maps are free and Siri's turn-by-turn directions are dead-on perfect). Nice to have the $7300 still in by bank and 100 extra lbs not on the car...
Just one thing about that rear video camera: I bought a 2020 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury with that rear video camera, and thought that would be marvelous. Well it is for SOME THINGS. However, it is hard to determine actual distance as things look way behind you. And one day, I thought I had tons of room to casually move over to the next lane, and as I started to do that, I glanced back and the car that I thought was far behind me was right on top of me. I had to make an emergency move to prevent getting clobbered. Maybe I haven't figured out how to use it correctly, but just wanted to post this to hopefully prevent someone else from having my experience. I no longer use that camera unless someone pulls up extremely close to my rear bumper, and I can fuss about them being jerks.
Took delivery of my 2023 2Lt coupe and really love it. Got the yellow with black accents and upgraded seats and black stripes. Sure gets the heads turning on the road ways.
2LT with Z51 and no added options is by far the best value of the entire lineup, or any car! Just under $86k cdn (MSRP), or $18k cheaper than a non track package GT500!!!!
It's different in the US. The GT500 is a little over $70k. Which is on par with either: 2LT with maybe 1 or 2 options or 1LT with healthy amount of options - z51, mag ride, etc. The 2LT would honestly be better to live with but I'd still go with 1LT with lots options if I was constrained by a 70k budget.
Thank you for this great common sense Corvette video. I am a 1st time owner of a 2019 1LT Stingray. The bang for the buck which the 2 LT package offers sounds great for people who are new to Corvettes.
Oh yeah. 3LT is awesome. I just wanted to make sure that people knew all the awesome features that come with 2LT and 3LT that aren't available with 1LT.
Get a convertible and the rear view camera mirror comes with the 1LT. The difference pays for the convertible. Plus with the rear window down you hear the exhaust more. The engine bay doesn’t look dirty after one year also. My next C8 will be a HTC
I just bought a used convertible and as long as you’re not too old and can’t strain your neck, the visibility is great. Of course. But that is a very good suggestion to make there. Convertibles are great
Such an excellent point with regard to the camera. You provide a logical and sequential reason set for obtaining the axle lift system. If you are away from your normal environment, and run into a situation where you really can't measure the situation and you lift the front and you make it over the obstacle, albeit bafely, thus preventing the potential damage, and you just paid for the entire cost of the system. Bose. Hope it turns out to be as good as you say. 5th) I do not actually understand why the HUD is not more dominant than it is. I can barely see it, as it is. (age, older eyes) and I wish the level could be turned up a bit higher. This is one of the best informational video I've seen. Suggestion do a full-on comparison of the three different seat options in the C8. Thank you.
The HUD is extremely bright on my car no issues in any light condition. It's the brightest HUD of the 4 I have owned. You can select so much information on this car as well.
Thank you for your comprehensive and very helpful discourse on the 2LT C8 option. I have an order in for a C8 with a local dealer and have been trying to determine which options - if any - I should select. Even though I placed my deposit one year ago, I have been told that my car will be built as a 2021 and since no one knows when delivery will actually take place, I am simply waiting my turn to specify my new car details when my order is taken (delivery in early 2021 perhaps?). My preliminary choices include the 2LT model with the new flare silver color, the grey GT1 seats, edge red engine cover and brake calipers, performance exhaust, body color accents, front lift/cameras, and floor mats. I think the stock wheel's color goes great with the new body color. Thanks again and perhaps in about 6 months I should be riding in style!
Yeah from what I understand you have to take the other seats in the LT 3 and a day of the Blue Ridge Parkway in those seats would be a rough day for me.
No 2lt for me. The 1lt car comes with leather seats and that’s all it matters to me, plus 1lt is lighter and ideal for road coarse and drag coarse racing. I m planning on getting a 1lt with Z51 and magnetic ride for less than $67,000 plus tax. It’s the best performance deal on the planet.
I have a 2LT and the inclusive equipment has all the modern gadgets that don't come as stand alone. options. The camera projects a smaller image then the standard rear view mirror. I use the camera mirrow to pickup blind spots when mergining on to an interesting. The 2LT also had all.blind spot aids, every camera you can have on a C8. In the interior the GT1 see seats come with heat and ventilation. The PDR is standard with the 2LT and above. The steering wheel is heated but the lift is an addition cost option as is the Z51 track inhansment package. The 14 speaker Bose stereo is standard with the 2LT and above and performs notiable better then the 10 speaker that is standard to the 1LT
Why did you restate everything in the video? He literally listed everything the 2LT has over the 1LT, did you read the title? Why did you just repeat everything? Wtf
Pretty informative. Thank you for this vid! I was wrestling with 1lt vs 2lt. This just confirmed i want the 1lt. I know i may be in the minority here but all that is not worth $7300 to me, and if you add front end lift it goes up to $8800....so yea an extra 9k. I can deal with the rear view cam on my screen when reversing. Only thing i would miss is the HD rear camera...but other than that the other options like heated/cooled this/that, stereo, ect are not important to me. My 1LT C8 build is $66k...and that's pretty stellar....one thing I will not be compromising on is getting the Z51 package!
I paid $61K for my C8 LT1 upgraded the rims, red cal breaks, red seats and red seatbelts. You do not need the lifter, the bottom of the car is an inch or more of plastic underneath it. You do not need any more than 10 Bose speakers in a coupe, the mirrors work just fine.
I have the PDR screen on my C7.. and LOVE it... use it as a built in dashcam.. i put a 32gb SD HIGH WRITE card in so it can handle constant writing and data logging. I get 776hours of available storage... before I leave anywhere, I turn on PDR, then go back to home and select my music and such, it keeps going the entire time.
1LT is the way to go , I don’t need more camera and navigation, 1LT are still leather and stitched, got a rearview camera, thats plenty. You can save the difference to get a Z51 package which makes your vette the track weapon as it’s supposed to be the lightest among the lineup. As for the front lift if you’re not sure about the front clearance, just turn around.
I expect aftermarket will figure out the rearview camera upgrade. I've owned rear mid engine cars and drive in Manhattan. Let's not get crazy with tech and say it's impossible to drive without a rearview camera.
Two year driving a 1LT and I don’t need the rear view camera ever. I drive about 1000 miles a month in and around the Ny metro area I have no need for the rear view mirror camera two years in
Thanks for the tape measure on the front end lift. I have never seen this in any videos I have watched. It is not a huge amount of lift but I have a very steep curb on my driveway that I don’t believe the car will clear without this option. My son has an M3 coupe and if he wants to pull in my driveway he must attack from a very hard angle. Don’t want to be doing that every time I pull in my own driveway.
In Porsche 911 world for past decades w multi-model comparisons, base-model manuals usually ranked the most fun by the experienced editors after a week at their helm. With Corvette C8, side-by-side week of driving by several seasoned drivers accustomed to nice cars would be very interesting
Another great review on a car you don't even have yet. Thank both owners for letting you use their cars. Can't wait till you finally get yours. Thanks for all the info. Still waiting to see what's next. Hoping for a ZO6 and sell my 19 GS. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man 👍🏻 I'm hoping that we'll hear good news on production starting back up soon. My build week was 4/6, so it's tough to think about my car could've already been built. Life goes on though lol. It will be that much more meaningful when I do finally get it.
If I'm buying, I'm going atleast a 3LT with Z51 package add on. My C7 is a 3LT with a handful of the Z51 add-on's, but not full build out of Z51 package. When corvette gets into full production again and past these delays, I'm going to be ordering my C8... Or wait for the C9 at this rate...
I bought a C8 HTC Z51 1LT. I did get the camera rear view mirror but personally the interior was awesome in the 1LT compared to my C7 Z06 3LT. The Z51 package and the HTC for me are much better options to spend money on than upgraded interior options. The only thing for me that I miss is the heads up display.
Yeah the C7 was a shit interior but your 1LT is way down on features and options.. That's the main point of the option packages(1lt 2lt 3lt) not interior quality? That's never been the goal, the 3LT just adds some more leather.
I definitely see value in purchasing the Blindspot monitoring the rear cross traffic alert is also very nice. The ventilated seats are the other thing that I would want to purchase. It’s a shame that you cannot buy these items individually as the package seems to be a rip off $7000 for those couple of things is not reasonable things like the wireless charger that’s behind your shoulders is ridiculous
I paid $61K for my C8 LT1 direct from the dealer. I upgraded the rims, red cal breaks, red seats and red seatbelts. You do not need the lifter, the bottom of the car is an inch or more of plastic underneath it. You do not need any more than 10 Bose speakers in a coupe, the mirrors work just fine. There is no way the features in an LT2 that come standard are worth 8k. You arent getting any more car. Just some cameras and speakers. My dealership salesman still tells the story about me to this day the guy who stole a C8 off the lot for 61K plus taxes
Had a 3LZ c7 Z06. Didn’t use most of the novelties and the leather dash bubbles up. I didn’t like the camera rear view mirror on the C8 and my seat positioning is all the way down in the back, up if the front and all the way back. In the end I take the car I get the best deal on, but definitely get the wide angle rear view mirrors. Best blind spot protection you can a get.
I like that GM is trickling down a lot of their features from Cadillac and the new generation Silverado/Sierra to this Corvette. The rear view camera mirror, larger heads up display, and surround view angles of the vehicle are just some of the many cool things they’re doing that’s different from the competitors. I’ve actually been looking to buy a new generation Silverado to replace my old one, and so I’m a bit familiar with all the latest tech GM has been offering, just by the research I’ve done on the new truck. The only thing I wish they would change is the interior to compete with RAM’s beautiful new interior (which I hear that a mid-model refresh could be coming soon to even the playing field with RAM). It’s clear that GM can make a really nice interior, given the new Corvette and upcoming Tahoe/Suburban models, so I’m curious to see what they’ll do for the Silverado/Sierra. Not to get too off topic though - I wanted to answer your question and say that I would probably go with a 2LT myself. Luxury is not as big of a deal for me in a sports car, but more so the thrill and experience of the drive. I’d rather spend the extra money on exterior packages and other modifications to make the car that much cooler to drive. Though I agree, some of the interior features that come with the 2LT are definitely a must, and I think from a daily driving perspective, being able to see what’s around you is very important. Personally, I think if I were to buy a C8 someday, it would most likely be a 2LT of the Z06 variant. I can only imagine what that car’s going to be like.... whew.
I agree with you on the Ram interior vs. the Silverado. The Ram looks better with the huge screen available. The new Escalades screen looks awesome though. Hopefully we'll see that in more GM vehicles soon. I'm not big on luxury features on a sports car either. That's why I don't strongly recommend the 3LT trim level. I'd even be fine without the heated and cooled seats and heated steering wheel. I just really like the features that add to the drivability or fun factor of the car 👍🏻
@@CarsCostsandTechnology the ram is just superior to GM's stuff Ram has been winning truck roundups for like 4-5 years in a row it's crazy. It has the most truck of the year awards of the last decade.
It's nothing different though? There are dozens and dozens of cars across EVERY (almost) brand that have digital rear camera mirrors including $30k cars, this is an old and non-diffetent feature. Heads up display is the same deal. the ram is just superior to GM's stuff Ram has been winning truck roundups for like 4-5 years in a row it's crazy. It has the most truck of the year awards of the last decade. Why would you wait for some refresh Silverado when the ram already exists in many forms?
Front lift is great. I lost my radiator support bracket before in my C6 when getting off a ferry before. the ramp on the ferry shaved it clean off at the bottom. I'm not sure a front end lift would have saved it, but it may have.
Today I saw some thing I had never seen. JAYEMM’s TH-cam channel he took out a C5 z06 Corvette. And underneath the front they put metal rollers. I never thought of that. That’s actually kind of a cool idea go look at it, but I think he just put it out
@@NewCastleIndiana I had the wheels on it at the time. I'm not sure they really work out as its decreasing the clearance you have for that support bracket. They may have even been part of the reason it caught on the ferry and ripped the bracket off.
That red car with the high wing with the natural interior is smashing. Chevy also needs to use side mirror cameras like Hyundai will mean no blind spots at all.
First, from 1972 throuh 1976 I put 93,000 miles on a mid-engine sports car with tremendous visibility. However it certainly is not an apples to apples comparison as the 1972, although new was a VW-Porsche, known as a Porsche in this country. Targa roof and everything and fun to drive. Just in no way, the same car. I'm adjusting so that I use my actual mirror quite a bit of the time. Part of the reason that I can do it is my High Wing Spoiler, along with, "no-spoiler option," are easier to see out of with the Z51 option package which includes the Z51 Spoiler as "252" might say. Good content with clear voice, thus far. AF
I wish the C7 had power folding mirrors... that was the ONE killer thing that it needed... the mirrors stick way out compared to the C6 that was tight to the body. You can manually fold the mirror, but that jsut sucks...
My 2025 1LT has the digital camera mirror and PDR. It also has the 10 speaker Bose stereo, which is pretty amazing to me. It does not have HUD, memory seats, heated and ventilated seats, wireless phone charger, which i hear is hard to use anyway, and it doesn’t have the front lift. Mine is a white 1LT with Z51.
My 2023 limited edition 70th anniversary edition Z51 is pearl coat white. Its a 3LT. The phone charge isn't hard to use. You stick it in the slot... And that's it. I also like the white leather seats I have, with black and red trim. The rest of the interior us this nice grey alcantara. My removable hard top is a blue transparent top, I can look up at night and see the stars and moon with it on. But, it looks black from a distance. 3LT was exactly what I wanted.
I turned 63. And said. Yes it’s time. I just put my order in on the list. Hopefully I make it this run of production. I was going 1LT But after a lot of consideration and videos like this. It’s the 2LT WITH lift . And as I type they just notified me the orange is no longer a choice 😩
After owning a c5 i don't think I'll ever be able to go back to daily driving a car that doesn't have a heads up display. Definitely gonna have to go with the 2lt when the day comes.
I first looked at the one LT 1 and then when I seen you could not get heated cooled seats are automatically set my mind on the LT 2 . and I’ve had two convertibles in the past but really with the way the top comes off I find that’s plenty of open top driving for me. and the difference in the cost actually absorbs the cost of what the LT2 package is. And I would definitely would add the front spoiler rising feature. So I basically totally agree with the recommendations. Now I just need to wait for the market to settle down to where a person can get one of these without getting bent over by the dealer with a extremely ridiculous markup.
Fantastic video. I would like to see a video on if its good go get the magride if you are not opting for the z51 package. I do not plan to track the car but ive heard the magride def helps ride comfort.
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻 I haven't actually driven a C8 without mag ride yet to compare the ride quality. Hopefully I will soon. My C8 will also be equipped with mag ride once it gets here. Hopefully I can review a non Z51 / mag ride C8 sometime.
For the budget minded people like me, well I guess and my son who put this in our 2010 Highlander, the cheap China Amazon rearview cameras mirrors are probably not even 100 bucks or so and we love them. Don’t have any new cars with backup cameras, and these good enough mirror camera combinations also act as a dash cam pointing forward as well. Very much worth the $80 to $100. But yeah, backing up an Aventador. You almost need someone to go stand outside and spot even with the back up camera. I almost ran over the Keno twins from antiques roadshow when I was backing one up. Lol. Yeah an outside of the cheap mirror camera dash cam things, some of my cars I’ve also put very affordable dash cams in which have GPS. So the data logger GPS you can see where you’re at how fast you’re going stuff like that. I have six cameras in one of my cars and, if you do it affordably it can be 200 bucks. Some of my dash cams also are powered on 100% of the time and will record any motion or sound or detected force. I don’t even see my dash cams are not in the line of sight they are behind the rearview mirror, or on the back windows. The front end lift should be made available as an individually added item in my opinion. For me I don’t care about infotainment. I listen to spoken word, podcasts, and audiobooks and I can do that with an ear buds. I have your garage door. For me, I think I could splurge on magneto, rheological, suspension, limited, slip differential, and I would like light/tan seats, because I have retina vision problems in low contrast situations. Going the other direction I would actually like a decontented Corvette perhaps even with a turbo six cylinder if it lowered the price, I’d be that much happier.
I love your videos I have a question I have a C7 Corvette and I need to remove the driver side seat airbag and I can’t find any information on how to do it can you help me with some information on that. Thanks
I understand why people want the highest trim level for more features, performance, sportier aggressive look. They're also a lot of C8 Corvette owners that utilize it as a weekend car and I feel Chevy tried to satisfy everyone. If you think about the base 1LT trim level (lets say red car with beige interior), it's a mid-end luxury sports car (mid-end luxury in-terms of 2020 Chevy Impala Premier luxury). A senior citizen doesn't have to worry about performance because no average Honda Civic can out perform the C8, not even a base Ford Mustang GT. If you go the highest trim with all the bells and whistles, you get a sports package that dresses up the C8 (2LT, 3LT). With the early C8 aftermarket in twin turbo kits, exhaust upgrades, ECU tuning, people are pushing the C8 to its limits and it has too much instant torque. The Z06 and ZR1 models hadn't even came out yet.
Mid engine rear visibility is like driving a panel truck without any elevation. In the 1LT anything behind you has to catch-up to you to be a problem, so seeing them isn’t that important and if they hit you from behind the accident is theirs for tailgating.
Both the corvettes have the "Black Ground Effects", do you recommend that option? Also what are your thoughts about the front/back splash guards and Radiator grille screens?
If anything, this video convinced me NOT to go with the 2LT package. For me, I can probably swing the money for $75k-ish out the door. And I'd rather have the Z51 ans mag ride packages than a couple luxury features that don't really add that many useful features for me.
I am in a situation where I really want to purchase a used C7 Grand Sport, or buy a new Model 3 Performance. The only thing is when I think about it, a Model 3 Performance is close to $70k and at that point I feel like I should just spend the extra money and get a C8, but I don't know if I have the patience to wait for them to become available.
That's a tough one man. Those are all good options. Obviously, I'm a little biased towards getting a C8, but like you already mentioned the wait is going to be really long at this point.
I have the exact same dilemma. Model 3 would still come out about 7k less, but it's no where near as good looking as a C8. They're both really different car classes, but perform so well for that price range.
I sold my C6 2 weeks before took delivery of model x in 2016. At that time I think X accelerate about the same as C6, and cal auto drive. Now I miss vette, paid deposits for C8 last summer.
Did the 1lt with the z51, pdr, Bose……I missed out on the memory, heads up display (lambos don’t have it, I’m not trippin), and heated and cooled seats. Don’t really feel like I missed much
Thank you for the video. It's very well done and explains the trim differences quite well and succinctly. Personally, 1LT with no Z51 package is the way that I find the car most appealing. With cars, I am attracted to simplicity. The rearview mirror/ camera seems to be a genuinely beneficial feature, though as is the front end lift feature. The data/performance recorder is an excellent toy, but I know that I would use it a couple of times and probably loose interest. At any rate, the C8 Corvette is such a fantastic car it's difficult to go wrong with whatever configuration you choose it really comes down to budget and taste.
I would not purchase anything lower than a 2LT! It's is great value and you never remember how much you saved, you will remember how much you spent and didn't get what you really wanted. For resale, it's a no brainer! Here in the west, 1LT, sit around.
This car has to be the most incredible "affordable" new car in history, available to the average guy, that doesn't have millions of $ in the bank to buy a million $ car. This is the first new car that I wish I could afford.......or I'd be buying one. I have always thought those multi $ super cars from Europe had to be over priced, and some company could cut back a little on the cost of manufacturing to make an affordable "super car". Now Chevrolet proves me right. (video comment) Your problem seeing out of the mirrors is easily fix with the little low -tech blind spot mirrors. I always have them on all my cars.
I thought the same thing when I bought my 1LT C7 Stingray. I ended up changing my mind after a few months of ownership. Everyone is different though. Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
For a new one from Chevy in my area they taking reservations into 2022... kinda disappointing because all the ones for sale are marked up heavily or have options that I really wouldn’t spec myself because of the money. I would be happy with a 1lt with the z51 package in any colour really.
Notification gang🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Rearview mirror camera is such a game changer. A must have!
Everyone’s sleeping on the bose system! That and the camera are two unexpected favorites with this car. Sorry for all the comments. Commenting as we’re watching haha.
Lol yeah man. I'm glad that you showed me how good the Bose system is! 👍🏻
I’m debating whether I should just go with the 1LT to save money. Is the rear camera really an issue or not??
I got the 2LT, adrenaline red/black seats, non-Z51, front lift- no mag ride. Love it!
I have a 2LT with a z51 upgrade do u have a Z on your steering wheel?
I went 2024 1LT with Performance Exhaust and PPF on the front, for $67k. Nice exhaust, 10 speaker Bose, leather everything, power everything, digital rearview mirror, remote start... It doesn't need anything else... Perfect sports car, I didn't see the point of spending another $7k.
The mirror you like in the video, is now standard on the 2024 model...
good to know, what's your experience been like without the front-end lift? have you had any difficulty going up hills or over speed bumps, etc?
@@JJJJ-jw8hc None whatsoever.
This video helped convince me the 1lt is definitely the better option for the price..
As a 1LT owner, I agree. The rear camera, PDR and valet mode along make it worth the extra Dineros.
I'm in line for one of these, had been debating on 1LT and 2LT, as $68k vs $75k is still pretty big... But you're right, 2LT is worth it
$7k is chump change bro
Ours is 69k vs 76k. Then $2300 for the lift
This confirms that I don’t need a 2lt or z51 package. 1lt plus exhaust and high wing is all I want on a convertible. Very informative. Thank you.
Thanks. Glad you liked the video 👍🏻
Poor people justify being cheap 😂
Just one thing about that rear video camera: I bought a 2020 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury with that rear video camera, and thought that would be marvelous. Well it is for SOME THINGS. However, it is hard to determine actual distance as things look way behind you. I had to make an emergency move to prevent getting clobbered. Maybe I haven't figured out how to use it correctly, but just wanted to post this to hopefully prevent someone else from having my experience.
1LT with Performance Exhaust, that’s all you need
It's different in the US. The GT500 is a little over $70k. Which is on par with either:
2LT with maybe 1 or 2 options
or

Simple, well done, concise explanation of the option package. Convinced me, well worth the extra money. Thank you.
Your excellent video convinced me to go with the 2LT option and I am happy that I did. Thanks!
chump...
Ordered the 3LT. No regrets at all. Love it on our C7.
Oh yeah. 3LT is awesome. I just wanted to make sure that people knew all the awesome features that come with 2LT and 3LT that aren't available with 1LT.
I agree, luv my 3LT C7 vert. too.
Tha Heartbeat of America!!!🗣🗣🗣💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback 👍🏻
Agreed. The 2LT has everything you need. The 3LT is kind of overkill when it comes to options imo.
Yeah from what I understand you have to take the other seats in the LT 3 and a day of the Blue Ridge Parkway in those seats would be a rough day for me.
better leather worth it
Great video! I love how my Red Mist Princess looks amazing with quality high wing from Victor racing company.
@@pamelabenskin1761 nope
chicken shit need extra safetly
I have the 2LT. Best decision. Scrape your front skirt on the road daily and get back to me on how your choice is working out for you.
Do all 1lt have magnetic ride
I have a 3LT and I’d like to drive an option less 1LT just to see the difference in weight. I had a 1LT C7 and I miss how light that car felt
100% agree! Owned a brand new C7 1lt. Loved it but realized that the 2LT would been much more comfy and best bang for the buck !! Thx for posting.
This video was very useful to me , thank you so much. 🙏
I just can't wait for my C8 2021 to arrive
I expect aftermarket will figure out the rearview camera upgrade. I've owned rear mid engine cars and drive in Manhattan. Let's not get crazy with tech and say it's impossible to drive without a rearview camera.
The aftermarket wiring is a nightmare buddy, updates?
Two year driving a 1LT and I don’t need the rear view camera ever. I drive about 1000 miles a month in and around the Ny metro area
I have no need for the rear view mirror camera two years in
Definitely agree on 2LT...nice video
Thanks 👍🏻
Great video very informative I believe I’m going up to a two LT now thanks
Really enjoyed the Presentation. The mirrors and front end lift to me are worth it now. THANKS!
Yeah, I felt that information was important. Glad you found it helpful 👍🏻
In Porsche 911 world for past decades w multi-model comparisons, base-model manuals usually ranked the most fun by the experienced editors after a week at their helm.
With Corvette C8, side-by-side week of driving by several seasoned drivers accustomed to nice cars would be very interesting
Great video I’m also in the middle of deciding between 1LT vs 2LT or 3LT but I get to see the red vs the orange.. now I’m set on the orange
Orange with 2LT, you will love it.
@@CarsCostsandTechnology
Any news on uour build date yet.
Thanks Larry
Nothing concrete yet unfortunately. I spoke with the Corvette Concierge yesterday, and they said that I should see an updated TPW by next month.
The z06 costs $110k
If I'm buying, I'm going atleast a 3LT with Z51 package add on.
My C7 is a 3LT with a handful of the Z51 add-on's, but not full build out of Z51 package. When corvette gets into full production again and past these delays, I'm going to be ordering my C8... Or wait for the C9 at this rate...
3LT with the Competition Seats 💺 👌 😍
I bought a C8 HTC Z51 1LT. I did get the camera rear view mirror but personally the interior was awesome in the 1LT compared to my C7 Z06 3LT. The Z51 package and the HTC for me are much better options to spend money on than upgraded interior options. The only thing for me that I miss is the heads up display.
Yeah the C7 was a shit interior but your 1LT is way down on features and options..
That's the main point of the option packages(1lt 2lt 3lt) not interior quality? That's never been the goal, the 3LT just adds some more leather.
@@roboticvenom1935 the 3LT is better than the 1LT but for me it was better to spend the money on the Z51 and HTC.
Thanks for this video. If I get the 2022 C8, I am only looking at the 2LT.
Facts
I would love to have a rapid blue corvette.
Camaro had very poor sight lines as well. Funny that you're the first to acknowledge this!
I've heard that from others also.
Not sure what an LT1 is but if you had a 2LT you would realize it is definetly worth the extra money
Thanks for busting out the measuring tape. Super useful!
@@CarsCostsandTechnology the ram is just superior to GM's stuff
Ram has been winning truck roundups for like 4-5 years in a row it's crazy. It has the most truck of the year awards of the last decade.
It's nothing different though? There are dozens and dozens of cars across EVERY (almost) brand that have digital rear camera mirrors including $30k cars, this is an old and non-diffetent feature. Heads up display is the same deal.
the ram is just superior to GM's stuff
Ram has been winning truck roundups for like 4-5 years in a row it's crazy. It has the most truck of the year awards of the last decade.
Nah, just drive faster than everyone else on the road. That way you won't need to look at your blind spot.
@@tagacebu2 good point!!!
I love your charisma
Very helpful. excellent summary
I’ll be getting my 2lt this month, can’t wait!
Good video how you explained everything 👌. I was gonna get the camero ss or whatever. But too many people have those. So I’m going for the corvette
Great video! The next thing is affording one...
Great content bro. I’m looking to order mine next month if they open ordering again. Can’t wait to see yours!
Thank you!
I didn’t know Bose came standard on 2lt, liked the video, was gunna buy a 2lt regardless. My phone will probably dies any second now.
C8 Stingray 2LT trim is the Value Vet and you get the most bang for your buck!
I agree 👍🏼
Thanks for the info 👊🏽👊🏽
5:03 What site is this that he’s using to customize the car? Does anyone know? I can’t find it anywhere
Great review, very informative and well presented! Thanks , its 2LT for me!
I’m still gonna get a 3LT Z51 and eventually I’ll get the z06
I think it's ridiculous that Chevy did not make the camera rear view mirror standard or at least an option on the 1LT, which is a safety feature.
@Shabbir Khambatti yep
That's how they get you
Absolutely Amazing car!!! Great video, very professional....watching you from north of Toronto 🇨🇦
Thanks!
does the manual front lift come with 2LT but just the Front lift memory doesn't ?
Wait 2LT has the auto folding mirros? My father's is 2LT z-51 and I have never seen the mirrors do that when we lock it. How do you activate it?
Great video, I am looking forward to getting my 2lt z51 soon!! Hopefully sooner than later
I'd hold off on the 3LT until they fire the seamstress for the dash.
Lol yeah maybe...
i you could get the 3lt and you wouldnt care if you spent the extra money but would you say if u can go with the 3lt then get the 3lt?
Awesome video! Thank you 😊
Thank you for the review. 2LT +. Couldn't get a 2020, but on the list for a 2021
Mid engine rear visibility is like driving a panel truck without any elevation.
Does the c8 still have the grand sport and stingray lines? If so, how do those line up with the 1lt and 2lt?
Great video!! Do you know where the rear view camera is mounted on the convertible? Does it work with the top up and down? Thanks.
If anything, this video convinced me NOT to go with the 2LT package. For me, I can probably swing the money for $75k-ish out the door. And I'd rather have the Z51 ans mag ride packages than a couple luxury features that don't really add that many useful features for me.
What’s an expensive sports car without the expensive luxury features?
Might as well just get a cheap car
@@noname-mm9of bro
Cars, Costs and Technology When you say long... how long of a wait?
Did the 1lt with the z51, pdr, Bose……I missed out on the memory, heads up display (lambos don’t have it, I’m not trippin), and heated and cooled seats.
Don’t really feel like I missed much
GREAT video thanks
What's the name of the police radar on the windshield?
Z51 >>>
Exhaust isn't very impressive without it

I would not purchase anything lower than a 2LT! It's is great value and you never remember how much you saved, you will remember how much you spent and didn't get what you really wanted. For resale, it's a no brainer! Here in the west, 1LT, sit around.
Good point! Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
Have you ever owned corvette in your life time, 1LT has the best resale Value in a long run if you didn’t know...
Great information. Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks 👍🏻
This car has to be the most incredible "affordable" new car in history, available to the average guy, that doesn't have millions of $ in the bank to buy a million $ car. This is the first new car that I wish I could afford.......or I'd be buying one. I have always thought those multi $ super cars from Europe had to be over priced, and some company could cut back a little on the cost of manufacturing to make an affordable "super car". Now Chevrolet proves me right. (video comment) Your problem seeing out of the mirrors is easily fix with the little low -tech blind spot mirrors. I always have them on all my cars.
Does the 2LT have fully auto head lights and windshield wipers?
Lots of really cool stuff ,but nothing I would use enough to make it worth while.
