If your name isn't causing you dysphoria or w/e, if it's something you've always had and are mostly comfortable with, it's other things that bother your dysphoria, it seems to follow you could just... You're different than me, so that means I'm better than you and I don't need to accept you. The logic is that, it's irrational obviously, that's why we use the word phobia to define it "irrational fear or hate".
Historically it has some rootes in religion and conservative causes, cause it defy the norm and how things should be. Cause if someone can be a trans, that make you question what makes a somone the gender they are, biology? Culture? What traits? Isn't god ho define it?

People who are hateful against people who are different from them are usually scared that it might affect them.
      Example:
They love to claim that they are just protecting their children by hating on trans people, as if a kid would suddenly become trans if it saw a trans person (the only thing it could do is make someone realize that they werent cis to begin with and thats already a looow chance)

Thank goodness for this video! I just returned from a language class. A group in the class began loudly discussing how in England, Doctors are now required to ask everyone if they might be pregnant regardless of whether they looked masculine or feminine (whether this is true or not, I have no idea). They loudly brayed about how UTTERLY RIDICULOUS this notion was. I wondered whether I, a cis woman, should chime in and ask them why such a question might offend them. Is it somehow... shameful to own a womb? Is it a bad thing to be compared to a female, or to be seen in any way as feminine? What, pray tell fellows, is so bad about being seen as anything other than "man manly man man" for the five seconds it would take a Doctor to ask this important medical question that might affect the treatment some people can receive? 25:39 The reason transphobes attack Elliot so much is because when he was still presenting and identifying as a woman, a lot of guys found him very attractive (and like the girl next door), so I'm guessing that now that he has come out as a trans man and has transitioned, the men who found him attractive (not all, obviously) are doing their best to dehumanize him, so they won't find him attractive anymore, and so everyone else will know they don't find him attractive anymore. Of course, there's also the transphobes who are going to be like "ew, she mutilated herself," because they are upset he doesn't appeal to them anymore. Basically, Elliot is kind of the first example of a famous "actress" who men found attractive who transitioned,

With the anti-seatbelt thing, a large part of the argument was that "injuries from car accidents increased when people were forced to wear seatbelts".
This was because people who don't die in a car crash often get injuries and dead people don't get counted in those injured.

@@kevinturner9549Friendly reminder: The dictionary that Kevin Turner is using for his definition of a woman is Oxford Languages
The same dictionary with these definitions:
      GENDER
      1. the male sex or the female sex, especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones, or one of a range of other identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female
      SEX
      2. either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions
      GENDER IDENTITY
a person's innate sense of their gender (chiefly used in contexts where it is contrasted with the sex registered for them at birth).
      TRANSGENDER
denoting or relating to a person whose gender identity does not correspond with the sex registered for them at birth.
      AGENDER
denoting or relating to a person who does not identify as having a gender
      BIGENDER
denoting or relating to a person whose gender identity encompasses two genders
      NONBINARY
      2. denoting, having, or relating to a gender identity that does not conform to traditional binary beliefs about gender, which indicate that all individuals are exclusively either male or female
      THIRD GENDER
a category of people who do not identify as male or female, but rather as neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders.

For as long as people remember who she is, there will always be an asterisk next to her name with a terf footnote and she has no one to blame but herself.
500 years from now her biography will read “popular author of the 21st century fictional series, Harry Potter, and outspoken opponent of transgender rights. She faced a number lawsuits later in life due to her vocal attacks on minority groups”.

The bathroom thing as someone who is gender non conforming is so frustrating. I won't use gendered bathrooms. I'd rather hold it. Because if I go into the men's, I have an obviously larger chest. I also have a beard and a masculine voice, so am worried about going into the women's. Just why can't people pee?!

My local city replaced all their old gendered public toilet blocks with a new design: fully ambulant, left access ambulant, right access ambulant, fully accessible. All four doors open onto a verandah that is visible to passing traffic, so if we ever get one of those weirdos that hides in public toilets waiting to assault people, there's a fair chance someone walking or driving past will see it happen. And if four cis women or four cis men arrive to use the toilets at the same time, we don't have two people waiting in a queue while two toilets go unused because they're the "wrong gender."
The best trans-inclusive upgrades are the ones that make the world better for cis people too. Those are the ones that will get the most support and be replicated most widely.
I hope your local authorities catch on soon.
