My MIL dropped my daughter off home after she'd been at nursery and apparently made a new friend, she said "[daughter] has a new boyfriend, called [boy]" like, no. She's 2, she doesn't have a boyfriend or girlfriend, she has no comprehension of what a boyfriend or girlfriend even is. I made a point to ask my daughter if she'd made a new FRIEND today. Last time my daughter made a new friend, a girl, no one made a comment about how she had a girlfriend. Sorry, not sorry, I'm not pushing cis-het normativity on any of my children. Until the moment my child explicitly says they are dating someone, I will not be insinuating that their relationship is anything more than platonic.
THIS!! I got so tired of hearing my parents poke at me about a boy I would be friends with, even after repeatedly explaining I didn't like boys that way and just found them easier to be friends with. Girls my age at the time were always dramatic and obsessed with cute boys and Lululemon. I couldn't get along with them. But I _never_ heard the teasing or ceaseless interrogation when I talked about girls that I usually received when I talked about guys. When I told my parents I was demian (demisexual + demiromantic, which is on the aroace spectrum), they were disappointed that I wasn't a breeding creature that hyperfixated on some lame ass guys my age. When I finally DID get into a committed relationship with an older man after developing an extremely close emotional bond and deciding I wanted to be with him, they shunned me for a long time and are only just now warming up to him. You can never please these cishets, I swear.
honestly tho I hate being nagged about like liking my friends bc I’m aromantic so I don’t really want to date any of them, but I do love all my friends but it’s entirely platonic
Definitely agree, that kind of weird age-inappropriate OTT amato-normativity is just blech, & continues pushing the narrative that people of differing genders can't just be FRIENDS, darn it. Big ups to parents who are more thoughtful about this stuff!
The worst part of “don’t date my daughter” that if she turns out be be aroace and actually never dates, the parents will be like “NO you have to get married and have kids and traumatize them, just like we did”
@@disrespecc9678this is what I like about these comments sections. People are all so nice, and we only disagree about the details. Everyone is inclusive to the best of our ability, and it shows. /gen
Or just not want children. I think my MIL asked me once, and indirectly through my husband-she seems to respect it (10 years together, 4.5 married). She just refuses to call our pets furbabies, which is fine by me since I don’t refer to them like that either. Meanwhile my mom got two kids out of my older sister, so I was off the hook on that front.
Regarding the birth control one, yes, it is a crime to tamper with or sabotage someone's birth control. It's reproductive coercion and is a form of abuse
I know for certain that where I'm from it's considered rape to "stealth" someone. (For those who don't know, "stealthing" is when a man sneaks off the condom during consensual sex. She didn't consent to unprotected sex, therefore he is a rapist.)@@LC-sr2se
TRIGGER WARNING: SA This is legitimately why I only use semi-permanent/implantable BC like the IUD/Implant. I’m aware not everyone has this option (I for one have tried every type of BC pill and had every side effect). After SA I just don’t feel like I can take that ‘chance’ of missing a pill, forgetting or not being able to afford it - I have disabilities that make any pregnancy high risk and my mental health and financial situation is in no way suitable to be dealing with even the possibility of pregnancy in that situation.
Bisexual here. Give me the county boys AND girls Edit: Uhh.... Nvm I recently found out I'm actually a lesbian and my "butterflies" with boys is just anxiety... Anyways, I still think the above statement speaks for the bisexual community!
The fact that some women still need to claim physical illness in order for a partner to leave them alone when they're not in the mood is what I find disgusting, not the women who do it
Right? Totally agree with that. My partners will drop the subject IMMEDIATELY if I just tell them "sorry, I'm just not in the mood right now". We'll usually just find another way to be close, like cuddle on the couch or play a game together. People should feel safe telling their partners the truth.
Exactly. While the difference in what they want may be the underlying issue, if the guy is someone who makes a spreadsheet of all the times she says "no," that is not someone you can have an adult conversation about that with. I even bet many of the excuses are only used after already saying "no," at least once and him not respecting that answer.
I read an exchange a while back where a guy goes 'female privilege is being able to fake a headache to get out of sex.' And the reply just goes 'female oppression is having to fake a headache because a simple 'no' isn't enough' So fucking true
Same thing for when women don't want kids, but men do. Ofc it can also be the other way around, but statistically speaking it is mostly men trying to strongmen women into having kids they don't want jut to save the relationship.
Plus, ya know, people actually do just get headaches, and that tends to be a mood killer. The idea that a headache is always immediately assumed to be an excuse until proven otherwise (or even after proven otherwise) is quite toxic in its own right.
My wife and I are sapphics, and sometimes we wonder if we're doing marriage wrong because we don't hate each other. She's always thrilled to come home to me after work, and I'm always there to give her a hug and a kiss. I can't imagine living in a house with someone that isn't happy to have me around, it sounds completely miserable.
That last one about sabotaging the girlfriend's birth control with the intention of getting her pregnant without her consent is abusive and might qualify as rape. If no, it's definitely some kind of sex crime. Reminds me of the stuff about poking holes in condoms.
Any kind of sexual contact without informed consent is rape. Is one person under the influence, drugged, unconscious, etc. and therefore can't give consent? Rape. Is one person too young to understand what's being proposed? Rape. Is one person unaware that the other person has been having unprotected sex with another person? That's not just an affair, that's rape. Is one person uninformed about the lack of birth control? Raaaaape.
It's strange how some people want to restrict marriage rights to only straight people as if it's some sanctified and awesome thing, but ALSO there is this meme of marriage being miserable. What are bigots clutching onto so tightly?
Exactly. Someone who supported marriage equality early on (Dolly Parton or Madonna, I think?) even said something like "Everyone deserves to be miserable like straight people" 😂.
Less people are getting married than ever before, most marriages end in divorce, yet the politicians in my country are refusing to grant the right to marry to the people who actually want it? Conservative logik.
I once saw a baby onesie that said "I love getting picked up by older women." That is somehow fine, but a kid knowing gay people exist is age inappropriate.
At least that one has a double meaning in which one of them (a baby being physically lifted by women) is age-appropriate, making the _inappropriate_ interpretation...basically a pun. I feel like the "inappropriate words on baby clothes" trend probably _started_ with things like that...but then some troglodytes decided that funny part _wasn't_ the word play, but...a sex joke appearing on a baby. 🙄
The "woman who deny their partners sex because they have a "headache" is disgusting" really hurts me.. As a bisexual female who have only been in straight relationships so far, i have heard this soooo often... I didn't realize that i might be asexual, before i met my now partner, who is so nice, sweet and respectful especially around sex, he doesn't demand, he just asks, and he understands that a headache for me only gets worse if i have to scoot around in a bed or whatever. Saying no have been something he had to teach me, that i was in fact allowed to say "no" or "not today I'm feeling bad" or perhaps "hey i would like to try later but no promise".. Trauma is not for fun. No means no. If they start coming up with excuses to get out of a situation, you should seriously think about why they feel like they need an excuse to say no..
I am still rather young and didn't have any relationships yet, I am honestly so shocked about all the things that I heard people doing to/demanding from their partner. Like, aren't you supposed to like them and want them to feel good around you? I'm glad that you found someone who makes you happy
The "I hate my wife" trope is been around for so long and yet in our days when women are not that enthusiastic about marriage, the same men are getting upset that they can't get wives.
Cis-het woman here. I do not shave my legs. Not only do I wear jeans 99.9999% of the waking hours, I have very sparce and fine leg hair. If anyone is that close to notice, they are either invited, or about to be kicked in the head.
I'm growing out my leg hair. If it's too embarrassing, I'll do like our great grandmas and wear stockings or knee high socks. It just feels weird to think I haven't seen what my real legs look like since I was 12...
I'm mixed, on the light side, but with dark hair. I don't shave either. I like being able to feel wind on my legs. I only shave sometimes if I wanna look extra pretty for a part or smt, but almost no other time.
I only shave when it gets hot and humid and the thought of anything trapping even the tiniest amount of heat near my body makes me want to cry. Otherwise, I wear jeans, so f it!
I've always found the "my daughter can't date anyone" trope to be so funny. I always thought it was a rule for every girl, and I was always wondering "If the girls can't date, who are the boys supposed to date?" And even before I knew what being gay even was, I assumed every time a guy who still lived with their parents said that they were dating someone, they were dating another guy cause girls couldn't date.
The Venn diagram of people who insist that cis/cisgender is a slur and people who don't realise it just means "not transgender" is pretty much a circle
Honestly? Those who DO understand it are even worse. They hate that there is a word to define "not transgender" because they feel like for once they are not considered "the norm". They are not an affirmative, they are "not X". Putting emphasize on something else than they are makes them feel less important becase they are entitled to feel like they are the main thing everytime. The others should be defined with a word, they don't need it because they think they are the blank canvas of what a human should be and the others are deviating from this standard.
I don’t get how some people are teaching anything LGBT is “Indoctrination”. By that definition, wouldn’t teaching kids about religion also be indoctrination?
@@IDKmanYouLoseTheGame ugh, I wish this wasn't an actual viewpoint some people hold. It's terrifying. (I know you were being sarcastic, I'm not saying you)
The other day at work I flinched and cringed because this poor man was at our service desk (I’m a cashier at a grocery store) resolving an issue and his wife loudly said “never send a man to do anything! Hahaha”.. another woman joined in. The poor guy was just solemnly going about his business as they went back and forth about all the stuff they don’t trust their husbands with. The irony was that the issue wasn’t even his fault.. it was a glitch in our system.
@@jacktadash sure, but I highly doubt you would start talking in public with a stranger in front of them about how useless they were because of a disability that wasn't even getting in the way of what you were doing. So what you mean to say is, you cooked dinner but made total mess; then you took the trash out, but something went wrong; the bin lid fell on your hand or something, right? I refuse to believe bisexuality can exist without chaos. (gentle tease from a fellow bi, non-chaos bis are valid 👉💥)
So many men equate “straightness” with “toxic masculinity” but then the majority of those same people conflate “toxic masculinity” with “consciously avoid ever doing the morally right thing in any circumstance ever”
I remember once saying that talking about toxic masculinity isn't attacking all masculinity, and one dude was like "name one masculine trait that isn't toxic." I named several (I can't remember them all but "loyalty," "calm," and something like "camraderie/companionship/brotherhood" were in there). He claimed all the traits I named were feminine. I mean, yeah, if you define masculinity as all the toxic shit and everything not toxic as feminine then yeah, okay, I guess all masculinity is toxic. You win, bro. Now let the adults talk.
@@MorganChaosIt always makes me laugh when MRAs are like, "Feminists hate men! Shout out to my cishet friend. He wore a dress to the movies once to piss of his parents. His little sister is queer and they’re trying to passively move disabled and gay friendly leaflets into the house. Icon.
Seeing gay people being happily married ruins their idea that the marrage is the problem. If being married isn't the problem, then they must be the problem and they can't handle that idea.
they seem to be anti marriage, but if an aroace person said they didn't want to get married, they'd probably get mad at them or tell them they'll change their mind

I, as a trans man, have a lot of trouble personally with letting myself do "feminine" things in public, but today in my English class I wrote a stupid little few paragraphs romance story and read it out to the class. I love writing romance, cause I'm good at it, and gender roles stifle people's creativity by putting them into tiny weird boxes.
Don't worry, as a cis tomboy girl I also have trouble doing some "femenine" stuff sometimes because I feel I'm going to be seen as a girly girl and being treated as such 😅 (specially by the not nice part of society) You're not alone brother
I'm a cis Woman in my mid 20s and I've Def been on the tomboy side in my teens. I've gone into a very male dominated major and will start working as a mechanic soon and it gives me some major gender Euphoria lol. Somewhere along my finding myself and figuring out my gender journey I found myself comfortable doing whatever feels good. Can't wait to turn up in a frilly dress when appropriate lol
I was in the gyno surgeon's office one day to ask for a hysterectomy. She asked me about my sex life, and I said I wasn't sexually active. Then she went out of the room for a minute, and her assistant, an older woman, said to me conspiratorially, "I don't blame you. All men are bums." I didn't say this, but I wanted to: "I'm Ace, but thanks." Plus, I couldn't have had romantic feelings for men? Or women? Or enby people? I mean, I'm not SEXUALLY active or attracted to anyone, but I'm romantically attracted to any and all genders. I didn't know the term "cake and cuddles" at the time, but that's where I was at during that time in my life. It was just a bit weird and I didn't know why she'd say that. I guess a man/men hurt her? And of course since I was still menstruating and could *technically* get pregnant (at 48), the surgeon lied about HRT and said she wouldn't do it. So I kept getting Depo-Provera shots every 3 months, and that puts you at a higher risk of strokes and heart attacks. But gob forbid they take away my "option" of having babies. Ugh.
Ugh. I thankfully managed to find a doctor who would give me one in my 20s, but I had so many doctors who just learned of my wish to get one and was told it would never happen until I was at least 35 with 2 kids. One even asked me "But what about what your future husband wants?" while I was literally holding my girlfriend's hand. He knew we were a couple, not sure if he knew she's a woman (she's also trans and can't do anything medical atm), but because she was supporting me he assumed I'd eventually find a "real man". The doc who evicted my uterus asked me if I might be interested in a hysterectomy one day after I said I was trans (well and after explaining what non-binary is, which she just accepted). She even agreed to stop asking me about sexual activity if I promised to tell her if it changed. And she held to that.
To answer "Why don't they get divorced?" - it's because that 78-year-old manbaby needs a woman to do all the household labour for him. He can't divorce her. He needs her services as a maid, not as a partner. Also, if he's so "DGAF", he probably has a lacklustre emotional relationship with his potential kids or friends - men like that need an emotional anchor in a woman, and go off the rails without one to serve them.
As a Christian, I completely agree with everything you said. I’m sorry for all the people who have used their interpretation of the Bible as an excuse to hurt you. I wish they read the parts about loving everyone and not judging.
same. i genuinely do not understand the point of hunting queer people down and screaming at them when literally there are gay or trans christians, and if you push religeon too hard no one will want it. so sorry you had to go through that
The other day I went to church with my mom. And I read this thing on one of the commandments, the not say Gods name in vain and it came with the explanation *not use religion or God as a justification for unjust or cruel actions* so... Literally everyone who uses religion to hate queer people are quite literally violating a commandment... That was a fun learning experience as catholic
@@donnamitsuki281Yeah a lot of people incorrectly think "using God's name in vain" means saying things like GD but it really means invoking the name of God to justify actions that God does not, in fact, endorse.

Cis woman married to a cis man for 16 years & we’re still each other’s favorite people. Like what is even the point of marrying someone if you don’t want to be with them?
My experience as well. I thought I was an OK (cis) straight, now I'm questioning if I'm bigender, which would complicate my orientation. (Technically, I'd be both straight and gay.) It's just a little bit disheartening to me because it gives me a feeling that there can't be any OK straights because those that are OK inevitably turn out to not be straight (and/or not cis). (I know that's not true, but my brain doesn't care about that.)
To answer your question, "Country Boys" is the American stereotype of a rural cowboy/farmboy type who rides big pickup trucks and are stereotypically pretty masculine. Funnily enough, country music tends to be very dude-bro-y in that women get objectified in it a looooot by those masculine country boys. It's... unfortunately a whole thing.

The cream itself feels icky to me and it will make any skin abrasions sting, but it did help. Also, returning exactly to pre-pregnancy shape is a ridiculous goal IMHO.
@@elaineb7065 Absolutely. Pregnancy is bizarre and mundane at the same time. Around half of us have the potential to experience it, and yet no two pregnancies are the same. It is stunning what kinds of changes can be normal in pregnancy. So many things can happen that pregnancy books don't even cover it all. But also we should be more educated on our bodies in general. It is amazing the kind of things that people don't know.
When my niece was a toddler, she pulled a sticker off an old craft project and when I told her we could fix it she said "Papa will fix it, because he's a boy". I was going to point out that girls can fix stuff too, but she started laughing like the idea of her grandfather being a boy was the funniest thing she ever heard. The kids are doing all right.

As someone who has given birth twice, *there is no spring back.* Your body will always function differently *even if you lose weight.* It's 2024, let's normalize body's changing over time and being happy about getting to experience next stages of life! If we become more inclusive of our own bodies it would also benefit others, creating space for oneself is the first step in making space for others. Take care!
My mom was very active during her pregnancy with one of my sisters, to the point where she actually weighed less after giving birth than she had pre-pregnancy. Her mom told her like a week after she gave birth that she needed to lose weight, which blew my mind to hear because my grandmother gave birth six times and should know from experience that's not how the post partum period works, and isn't an appropriate thing to say to someone recovering from pregnancy and birthing.

Yeah I remember it was easier for my conservative teacher to assume that I sleep with my two best friends at the same time (they are twin brothers on top wtf) instead of realizing that Iam in fact gay and very close friends with them. It is so disgusting and violating...😢
I know it is just so fucked up urgh🙄... I finished school and after two years I came back to visit the school again out of nostalgia. My teacher recognized me and we had a little talk about the old times. She asked me how it went with Daniel and Luke (the twins). I didn't understand what she meant, until she said:" I thought you three were in a relationship or had something else going on together". I was shocked and told her that I have in fact a girlfriend, and there was never anything but friendship between Luke, Daniel and me. She smiled weirdly at me and told me, that she doesn't believe me. I escaped the situation as fast as I could, cause it was degrading, awkward and just WRONG wtf... And then I remembered that she always had made these weird comments towards us like:" aaw you are so cute together", "I think you will be dating as adults" bla bla bla (and we always felt uncomfortable about it but we thought it was weird but normal adult behavior...). I think her sick thought process was, that I would sleep with both of them and later I would decide which one of them I preferred and get married to him🤢 Cause clearly children and young adults are sexobsessed weird creatures that don't know what is good for them but in the long run they will find "the true way" and marry one of their best childhood friends 🤮...
I just got into it with a therapist doing this mental health class who insisted that households without a father, including same sex couples with kids were worse for the child than male/female parent households. I left feeling worse than when I got in... I just had to vent somewhere...
I had to do a research paper once on same sex couples adopting & the studies from the time showed the exact opposite of the nonsense that person was pushing. That was in the 90s! We’ve known for a long time that stability and love are the key in kids outcomes - not their parents’ gender.
Regarding all of the "I don't really want to be married" straights like the "HELP" guy... I do wonder how many (mostly straight) people just get married because they think it's the only way to "level up" and not because it's what they actually want to do. Like, peer pressure, family pressure, societal expectations. And as a corollary, I wonder how many of THOSE people's anger at people trying to do their own thing is just them projecting their own regret onto the world. Kinda in the same way that some people who paid down their student debt (which might be a US-only thing?) get mad whenever the idea of student debt forgiveness is floated.
Switching or tampering with birth control is sexual assault. At least here in Australia. It is covered under the the definitions of consent where consent must fully informed and freely given. If someone has an expectation that they are protected from pregnancy when they have sex with you and you've tampered with this, the consent obtained is considered fraudulent and therefore void. This works both ways and also applies to failure to disclose an STI. Having said that, SA conviction rates are pretty shockingly bad so it's less likely that this behaviour would lead to an actual criminal conviction.
I could see changing it if they're having health issues too. Like, high weight and age can cause joint problems, so I'd happily change my partner's weight and age so his feet and knees didn't hurt him when he runs any more. That is... definitely not what the OP meant though.
The worst part of the whole "My daughter is never allowed to date!" is that the same parents will turn around the moment the same daughter turns 18 and ask "Why haven't you gotten married and given us grandchildren yet?!?!"
As an AFAB autistic person, in elementary school, my only friends were guys for years (my interests were dinosaurs and video games - most of the girls I was around didn’t like/weren’t exposed to those things yet). My mom put so much pressure on me, saying she “knew” I was gonna marry one of them. *I was five* The worst part is, I internalized all that pressure and was terrified that suddenly my male friends were going to like me in that way or try to kiss me when, while I loved them a lot *as friends* , I did NOT want anything romantic from them. Worse yet, if they did that, it would mean they never really saw me as an equal/just a person (or that’s how it felt at the time). And of course I was WAY too scared to talk to them about it. My mom and this kind of sexualization of children is the reason I lost my first best friend. Jonas, if you’re out there, you were a real one buddy. I’m sorry I never said goodbye

I think I just realized the reason people pressured me to stay in an unhappy marriage was because they really believed that marriage is a necessary torture. In the same way they think that since they suffered through other things (being hit with a switch or just having to pay student loan debt) everyone else has to, also. I was the other type of person. I think, “I suffered, and feel NO ONE else should ever have to suffer.”
In relation to the first post, my dad used to “jokingly” say “you can’t date until you’re 30 and you can’t get married until I’m dead”. He was not happy when I had my first date in high school. SHOCKER I cut him off a little while after that (for so many reasons). Too bad I moved in with a guy at 26, DAD!
My mom is Catholic and she has always told me that the most important part of the Bible is the command to be be kind to others and to treat everyone with respect (Paraphrasing) . The next one she tells me all the time is “ if you do good in his (Satan’s) name you are doing it for me (god) and if you do evil in my (god) name you are doing it for him (Satan).” This is why she is completely respectful of my choice to be a satanist. Bottom line, she believes that in order to be a truly good Christian/catholic you must be kind and respectful to others because that’s the most important part of the religion to her.
I thought the ‘first date’ one was the mums, which would have been super cute and wholesome and not fit for this video, because it hadn’t occurred to me it might mean the literal babies! Ew!
At the end when you said "getting old is a privelidge anyway" I cannot tell you how much that changed my outlook on growing old. I'm at that stage in my life now where my age is really starting to set in, and has troubled me for a while, but hearing that has genuinely changed my outlook on the future for the better. Thank you for being you and keep doing what you're doing!
“I don’t know where I sit on if the dad is actually trash, there’s probably an age-appropriate time to inform them of that.” Trust me, if your dad is actually trash, you don’t need to be informed; you just pick it up on your own.
It honestly just dawned on me, that the reason some men are so protective of their daughters, is because they expect all men to treat women like they’ve treated women and now that it’s their own daughter that’s “at risk” they realise that they, the fathers, have been treating women as shite and rubbish, and they obviously don’t want their daughters to experience that. Funny how it only becomes an issue once they begin to actually care about the person in question, but until then, they don’t care how many people they hurt. It’s legitimately scary that some people don’t care until it’s something that will also affect them by proxy, like if the daughter gets heartbroken she’ll be upset and that will have an impact on the social aspect of the family for a while or, worse, she gets hurt or gets taken advantage of, maybe even becomes pregnant and the lad leaves out and leaves her with all the horrible choices and responsibilities, which will have both a societal impact on the family what with how some places still judge young girls but rarely the boys that are also involved, or you know, the financial and emotional impact of either a termination or the birth of a baby, especially to a teen parent. Like, instead of going “I won’t let my daughter date, cuz she might meet a guy that will treat her like crap, cuz that’s what I either did or have allowed from boys and men around me.” Maybe going “I will raise my sons to be good and caring partners and to take responsibility and think things through, and I will call out bad behaviour from my male friends!”. It’s comparing: “Welp, the old roof is leaking everywhere so I better get some more buckets!” to “I should path those holes and start saving up to get the old roof replaced, otherwise this will continue indefinitely.”

Regarding the birth control one, yes, it is a crime to tamper with or sabotage someone's birth control. It's reproductive coercion and is a form of abuse
i also believe it would be classed as rape to tamper with a form of contraception
I know for certain that where I'm from it's considered rape to "stealth" someone. (For those who don't know, "stealthing" is when a man sneaks off the condom during consensual sex. She didn't consent to unprotected sex, therefore he is a rapist.)@@LC-sr2se

"How could anyone be lesbian when country boys exist?"
I'd imagine the existence of country girls probably answers your question.
I positively adore this
“Did you think I meant country matters?”
Country boys are apparently so irresistible that they’ve all gone gay for each other, leaving country girls to their own devices. And we all rejoiced!
and the country boys are dating the other country boys
Bisexual here. Give me the county boys AND girls
Edit: Uhh....
I read an exchange a while back where a guy goes 'female privilege is being able to fake a headache to get out of sex.'
And the reply just goes 'female oppression is having to fake a headache because a simple 'no' isn't enough'
So fucking true
Same thing for when women don't want kids, but men do. Ofc it can also be the other way around, but statistically speaking it is mostly men trying to strongmen women into having kids they don't want jut to save the relationship.
Plus, ya know, people actually do just get headaches, and that tends to be a mood killer. The idea that a headache is always immediately assumed to be an excuse until proven otherwise (or even after proven otherwise) is quite toxic in its own right.

That last one about sabotaging the girlfriend's birth control with the intention of getting her pregnant without her consent is abusive and might qualify as rape. If no, it's definitely some kind of sex crime. Reminds me of the stuff about poking holes in condoms.
it qualifies as reproductive coercion, and yes it's a sex crime.

So sad that you believed you couldn't say NO to a guy who wanted sex from you until you met your current guy. Anyway, glad you can do it now.

I think they think it’s a slur because they use trans like a slur
@@Amara87387 exactly, it's quite sad

Why are some people in relationships if you're just gonna hate on your partner?
"Love thy neighbor" ruins so many bigots reasoning for being bigots LMAO.
My bigoted grandmother thinks that she isn't being judgmental or hating her neighbor when she tells people they're going to hell. She thinks she's helping to save their soul.
It's tragic. I can't speak to the woman without an argument.
@AwwesomeVal as a Catholic, the Bible literally says that the only one in the position to judge one's actions is God himself. I met two men in the park recently, I got talking to them because they likes my dog. They explained they'd both gotten married (to women) had their first kids, bought homes and got dogs and bonded over the fact it all made them miserable. It felt like I was being recruited into a gang or something, they kept trying to get me to join in with the misery fest but I like my partner, kid, home and dog and I have chronic depression and anxiety, I don't need friends that bond over hating their privilege.

But also we should be more educated on our bodies in general. It is amazing the kind of things that people don't know.

Her mom told her like a week after she gave birth that she needed to lose weight, which blew my mind to hear because my grandmother gave birth six times and should know from experience that's not how the post partum period works, and isn't an appropriate thing to say to someone recovering from pregnancy and birthing.

my ex was an iffy daad who missed a lot of our son's younger years. But did I tell my son he was TRASH? NO! Because the person I'd be hurting was my son. My now-adult son's good relationship with his father was worth it.

2:09 On that whole wine-vs-beer thing: There are parts of Germany where wine, not beer, is the alcoholic beverage of choice. In middle-western Germany and especially along the Rhine. I studied in Mainz for a semester, and forget about "Oktoberfest" - September, when the Jungwein was available, was the big celebration! "Jungwein" means "young wine," and is the "raw" fermented wine-grape juice that hasn't fermented away all of the sugar yet. So it's sweet, still tastes close to wine, but a bit more … "yeasty", and packs a *_Whallop!_* It's easy drinking and therefore easy to get Totally Hammered off of!

Yeah I remember it was easier for my conservative teacher to assume that I sleep with my two best friends at the same time (they are twin brothers on top wtf) instead of realizing that Iam in fact gay and very close friends with them. It is so disgusting and violating...😢
Wh...What context would even have come up for your teacher to even make you aware of this messed-up thought process? What the actual hell?
I think her sick thought process was, that I would sleep with both of them and later I would decide which one of them I preferred and get married to him🤢
Cause clearly children and young adults are sexobsessed weird creatures that don't know what is good for them but in the long run they will find "the true way" and marry one of their best childhood friends 🤮...

@@Saezimmerman I agree. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
'Audacity' is a great word
To be fair, I'd also change the ages of myself and my partner. Not because getting older is bad exactly, but so we can spend longer together...
Ok Romeo I see you
Aw that's sweet
This is one of the cutest fucking things I’ve ever heard
*I was five*
The worst part is, I internalized all that pressure and was terrified that suddenly my male friends were going to like me in that way or try to kiss me when, while I loved them a lot *as friends* , I did NOT want anything romantic from them. Worse yet, if they did that, it would mean they never really saw me as an equal/just a person (or that’s how it felt at the time). And of course I was WAY too scared to talk to them about it. My mom and this kind of sexualization of children is the reason I lost my first best friend.

I think I just realized the reason people pressured me to stay in an unhappy marriage was because they really believed that marriage is a necessary torture. In the same way they think that since they suffered through other things (being hit with a switch or just having to pay student loan debt) everyone else has to, also. I was the other type of person.
