The weird thing is that it didn't even seem like she messed up or was nervous/ embarrassed because she seemed so confident and prepared and happy and just owned any tics that came up.

I love the "I'm here to swear at you for a few minutes, I thought it would be funnier not to tell you why" because it sort of explains why without wasting time on words, and sets up everything that happens after as being okay. Just those few words turn what could have admittedly been a disaster into a genius performamce

Being (at least a bit) ashamed of saying wrong things and swearing, even if she can't control it, is what makes her a better human.

I’m sorry you felt embarrassed, I honestly think it added character. You have positive energy to you. The world is becoming more accepting of disabilities & it’s cool to see. But I also understand that’s not something many people would want to be remembered for 😅.
'Disability' has so many negative connotations, hence many are repelled by the label, but there are some whose whole selves are so much more deserving of admiration than the rest of us that they become role models, and Anita's one of them.

But, i think its a word that describes how difficult and well... disabling these conditions can be and i definitely prefer it to some of the other ones used! Of course, its personal preference for those who have disabilities but I wanted to add my prospective.

Mixing OTK and OTV is a lot easier to do than la la land and moonlight at the oscars :) Your presence at the awards bring visibility to Tourette, and it's important. Tourette isn't just a fun thing, or a big weird thing. Representation is important, and you did a great job!

The La La Land / Moonlight mixup wasn't the fault of the presenters. The wrong card was handed to them, and the atrocious typography made it hard to tell they weren't holding the right card.

Honestly I find it amazing, you showed the world once again that even people with the most stigmatized disorders in society can be unapologetically themselves in front of a huge audience! NOT hiding away in their rooms and trying not to bother anyone.

I have a friend with Tourette’s, he worries that people will get annoyed or angry at him, a laugh is a relief for him. Definitely a good thing unless you are just openly mocking

Words to live by. The reason for this is because planning for something creates expectations, and we as humans aren't perfect. Even if your expectations for yourself sound reasonable, as a human it's unlikely to perfectly meet them, that's just nature. When you wing it, you go in expecting nothing. If you don't expect yourself to do well at all, there's no way for your results to do worse than you expected because you didn't expect anything

Yeah, this is important for certain scenarios. In others, we need to have a fair idea on how things are gonna play out then do our best to meet expectations. For example, when I start training for a marathon, I can't just wing it. I have to meet certain goals by certain times to be in the shape I need to be for the big run.
11/10 would watch a nervous speech again. You seemed so confident through the whole thing. The people who watch you know that your tics are the farthest thing from what you want to say so even with the tic attack, the presentation was flawless and like a breath of fresh air in the monotony of presenting awards

That was simultaneously the most sympathetic and funny thing I have seen in a long time. I think the failure (although not this specific kind) is something that people can relate to AND at the same time they can laugh at it. Not by malevolence but because it was just funny. You just can't make this shit up ☺️ Hence it got a major positive feedback.
You "failing" in an improvised situation shows the real genuine YOU! this is something people can connect with as too much media today is to some degree staged. People want to see real emotion, and you deliver it in an amazing way, because you are just a fantastic person :)

I've had tics all my life and I've always been trying to hide it as well as I can. I only recently found your content and you have no idea how inspiring it is to see you just own your tics
The thing is i think people found it entertaining and made people feel less stressed and gave them a fresh breeze of air for the night. You made peoples day a bit better with the endearing few minutes, even if it felt like the roof was falling on top of you. Im really proud of you and your courage of stepping on that stage.

Even though you were embarrassed, you did a great job. You seemed very confident and powered through those tics. The tics made it hilarious and made it feel much more like an award show made by streamers for streamers.
All the cheering was so nice. It was honestly great to show tic attacks on stage (not me saying that being in a tic attack is ok.). It will make other people with tics feel like they can go on stage and not be embarrassed if they have tics on stage.

Hey, I can only imagine, what that situation would do to tourettes syndrome. But think of it this way: How many people with tourettes have dared laurating an award ceremony before? All the more, when there are hundreds of thousands of people watching?

I really feel this in my core. I know the feeling of riding along confident, but then something comes along to snap you out of it and it's a frame of mind that is quickly replaced and once it's gone, really difficult to slide back into. Oofph. We've all been there. This is too relatable.

That's such a memorable, borderline iconic moment from the Streamer Awards, so it was real cool to hear the backstory behind it xD "Failing upwards" is some pretty based stuff, but succeeding at life in your own way is what you do!
No lie, I saw the clip several times before you made this video and honestly thought the tic attack was just you reacting to a stressful situation... You went up there and did it, yes it didn't go 100% smoothly but I don't think these things often do. The way you handled it all was amazing!

I can only imagine how you must have felt, but seeing the reactions I don’t think people resent you for anything. You got up there like a boss and people were fully aware that you have ticks, so no harm done I think. To be honest, they should have you at the Oscars haha. I might even watch
I think this situation was especially great to fail on because it's SO relatable. We all know how it feels to speak in front of 20 people and you did it in front of 10.000 times more. You went up there. You were charming and relatable. People got an award. You did the thing.

Failing only occurs when you have the courage to fail in the first place. People are applauding that. 9/10 average people would have messed up even worse. You made it entertaining, which is what streaming is about.
It's not about failing, but how you react to the situation when you do. You handle the situations so incredibly well.

I think its because its cathartic seeing someone else doing the stuff that is the BIGGEST FEAR speeking in public, ”failing” with what looks like confidence and a shrug, just loads of charisma. It is like you have no choice but to be free, and people who are free and true to is really inspiring!
