4:00 how insane is her computer voice. Some of her ticks make her insanely good at some things. I really like how he handles all this in a positive way.
Even though she has this really happy disposition, you can tell when she really goes off the train with the ticks that she's suffering. In the early parts of video it kind of feel for her especially when she asked for a break
Honestly, she's a gem. I've never seen someone with this amount of tics being that "okay" with it. She seems like a genuinely wholesome and nice person to be around. Super smart too.
It's worth note somewhere that a complex brain is an expensive organ to keep up. It's why predators tend to be more intelligent than herbivores... Proteins are on an order of 10 times the energy value in relation to vegetation, and so the carnivorous diet can power a higher complexity brain... SO apparently, from her explanation of how the tic's work, it's a hyper-activity in her brain (theoretically)... Like how she talked about looking to access things only related to A or apple, but the Tourettes just runs around crashing into everything related to A... "I'm trying for a straight line of thought, and instead of that, my brain just sends the electricity everywhere." SO it WOULD be exhausting to trigger so many tic's in rapid succession like that, and she literally needs to take a minute and let it all settle down... catch her breath. The brain can't just run on glucose alone. It also NEEDS oxygen... ;o)
@@gnarthdarkanen7464 That explanation actually explains a lot. Like, when she said "jump off, do a barrel roll", it was probably her brain first jumping to the whole "I'm gonna jump" "do a flip" meme, but her brain associated with and thus jumped to the "do a barrel roll" meme.

As if she hadn't posted several videos around a scary stalker situation? This woman is simply being hyped for no reason. @@GamingDualities You do have to consider that whatever's on TH-cam are _highlights_ from Twitch, and/or random videos like this one. And since Tourette's plays a huge part of her life, I'm not surprised that theres a focus on it. I don't think it's too much, especially since there _is_ an audience for it, and people with Tourette's and other disorders can look up to her and understand that it's not impossible to get somewhere in life even with severe restrictions. And with the whole simping thing, from what I've found, part of it is her humor, and the other part of it is that this type of behavior is how she'd been treated throughout her life, so of course that facet is going to leak into one content one way or another. I'm not saying that you don't have any points, but I really don't think that she's trying to fake Tourette's for views. Especially since she was abused by her own household for it and wasn't diagnosed until mid- late-twenties-and her childhood probably why her particular case is to the extreme that it is. Anthony Padilla did a video on it.

10:23 This is literally how I experience my ticks. I went to a specialist, where they diagnosed me with tourettes, and then kinda tried to learn me how to keep ticks from happening But the more I did that, the worse it got and the more it was exactly like this part in the video. I can surely say, I am not fighting the ticks anymore, and it's so much better for me. Insane to actually hear exactly how I experience something be put into words like that🙏🏽
@@AutomaticDuck300 Shes stated before in the past she’ll never do something that’ll actually cause her physical pain. That’s why she had to avoid bananas for a while cause it was such a strong trigger that sometimes her throat would bleed. But in situations like this she could give it a try but also stop when she knows she can and/or should. Like in a general aspect it does suck but I venture folks with Tourettes have had to endure it long enough to deal with SOME of it.
@@morganrakes4184 Well, you're half right. she had to avoid the word because her twitch chat kept triggering her with the word until her throat bled. But it's no longer a trigger for her. When she started crying by being able to say banana without a trigger I cried too. I'm so porud of her
I would love to see the similarities with Tourettes, OCD and ADHD. I know they can come together. They all have the intrusive aspect to them, like adhd seems like tourettes but inside the brain (I'm not a scientist so tell me off if I'm wrong) and ocd is similar to her describing the SAY IT NOW thing
I was literally looking to see if anybody else compared it to OCD. How she describes it feels just like my OCD, except I'm in control of my physical reaction. The fear might overrule that control, but it's not a tic.
ADHD is more of a easily distraction to me it is, I can be focused on one thing and loose it in an instant,I also can’t sit or stand stand still, I would pace around the house and shake my leg or tap my fingers. ADHD is annoying to deal with, and no I’m not on meds cause it’s not on the spectrum of severe it’s mostly involuntary things that I do that triggers it. Another thing is that I can focus like really focus on something and not loose idk my ADHD is weird. But if there’s a challenge that’s similar to these but meant for people who have ADHD I would love to see Edit: I also have a probelm fidgeting with somethings
@@Chris09978 that focus thing is called hyperfocus with adhd, I myself think I could have it so fully focused on stuff is hyperfocus, a particular part of adhd and you would have the inattentive (the focus and forgetfullness) and hyperactivity (can't stand still and tapping etc) combo
Funny you mention this, I was just telling someone how I have a lot of the behaviors that Anita does, but I don't have Tourette Syndrome. I have a brain injury, however, and the impulsiveness, cursing, and making funny sounds are all things that I do! Her videos help me feel better about my condition.
I didn't realize that the "Tourette voice" seems to have a will of it's own. I thought it was probably rough for you to be around people who might judge you for your ticks. But that there is also a struggle inside you in addition to that... That's really rough Thanks for sharing all your thoughts ☺️ I'm sure you're helping a lot of people by being so open about what you're dealing with. That takes real courage!
that is why she laughs at many of the things she says, she has said before often with the ticks she has no idea what she is going to say, and a lot of times it is just funny, so it makes her laugh also.
You know, an observation like that almost makes me think there is more of a power sink on the word she wants to say, but an overload on all things associated...
@@sbritton1313 as someone with tourettes almost as severe as hers I can kind of agree, when I was going through this video my tics were doing the same thing her's were and sometimes they would try and tic more than one word at the same time and it felt super weird. But at thr same time I could tic something without even having the slightest thought of the thing I said and it completely takes me by shock. Tourette's is super weird
While watching this, I was thinking about how it sounds a lot like my experience with OCD, which made sense since research is suggesting that it seems to be linked to the nervous system. I have control of my physical actions, so it's not the same... although fear often overrules that control. What I didn't realize until just now is that symptoms of OCD may be part of a spectrum of neurological disorders, such as Tourette's. Apparently, about 60% of people who Tourette's have reported OCD symptoms. I didn't realize they were so connected!
That's interesting! Bc I've recent been diagnosed with Tourettes in the past year. I don't have a severe case so sometimes I will get a break from them for about a month (I obviously don't choose when it happens). After a break, my tics usually hit a little harder. ANYWAYS, when my body stopped giving tics, I noticed my mind slowly replaced them. I started counting, badly. No matter where I looked, or where I was, I was always counting. So when I went back to the doctors many months later. I was also diagnosed with counting OCD. Then my body just combined them together. The counting never stops, but my tics are like a roller coaster. Up and down constantly.
I’m glad to hear another person with OCD make that connection, I’m sure sometimes I look to an outside person like i’ve got Tourette’s- when I don’t. I’ve just got ocd and it’s making me tap things in a certain pattern for no apparent reason, pop my mouth so my lips don’t feel weird, and make a click every time I breath because that’s how I’ve always done it and I feel like I’m suffocating if I don’t. As I’m typing this it’s hard to get it down because I keep backspacing :’) It’s really interesting to see how connected it all truly is! The brain doesn’t care about perfectly fitting into our neat little categorizations
That’s exactly what I was thinking. It’s like predictive text but verbally. I know there’s more to it than that, but that’s the best summary I could think of.
I think she said she doesn't have the n word tic. Something about her dad being black and hearing the n word in rap music a lot so it's not a scandalous thing for her.
Having a wife and two kids who suffer from stuttering, I categorize Anita's struggle similarly - uncontrollable speech impediment. It's amazing how well she deals with this and everyone who struggles deserve all the love and support they can get.
The ridiculous level of impression never ceases to amaze. From the perfect whistle to the Android voice. You can just tell how often some of them happen.
@@whyme8762 Did I say crippled or physically disabled. I meant anyone with Autism or Tourette's or any other mental disorder. But now that you bring that up she probably an Inspiration for them too.
Sweet jesus, it is so refreshing to see the term "trigger" used exactly as intended. Triggers suck. Tick triggers might not suck quite as much as panic attack triggers, but, it still sucks.
Bro everyone’s triggers, mental and physical are equally painful and exhausting. I’m sorry if you deal with panic attacks yourself, I know the feeling as a PTSD sufferer but pain shouldn’t be compared in this way because it does have a negative effect on people who have Tourette’s looking at this and feeling invalidated by it
She’s given us an insight into what she feels during this word association. I hope scientists can focus further on hopefully how to manage those tics or even how to control it better.
Well, it isn't like that, I have it and can kinda try to explain. She's only trying to say what she wants to say in her mind, but everything else just comes out, no control, no nothing, Like no matter how hard you concentrate and try, it's happening it's like somebody is pulling puppet strings and you can't do anything, even when you're focusing and trying not to do it and focusing on saying what you want to say, it's why she keeps stopping midway and going back to try and restart what she was saying, it keeps messing up her train of thought when she's trying to articulate a sentence!
Honestly, the way she spoke when she was trying to explain and she interrupted herself, I feel like thats my brain whenever I try to explain anything and I don’t even have Tourette’s. I lose my train of thought within seconds

Interesting analysis. I'm glad you started going random order to see if it's the anticipation that was extra triggering since I had that same wonder. Later you talked about mindfulness. are you aware of research into exploring ticks more in the controlled environment. Another thing i've often wondered about is delayed auditory feedback's effect on Tourettes. It can hinder the speaking ability in some people, but apparently can help reduce stuttering. the mind really is a mystery.
Anita is genuinely such a sweet person, and so naturally entertaining (even without the unintended comedic timing that Terrence gives her.) Her videos give me so much hope and the strength to deal with my own struggles, and I'm so happy to have found her channel
The way you articulated what happened to you is one of the most self-aware things I have ever heard. That felt not just next level, but almost a savant level break down of how your mind works. Really amazing.
It's insane how her ticks perfectly mimic certain sounds. Her whistles are the most perfect I have heard outside a computer device and she she said 4:03 No . Computer says no. She sounded just like a VO actress in a video game or a GPS. I would love to hear her whistling songs. I thing her pitch would be perfect. .
It looks absolutely exhausting. And so frustrating for her. It's kinda painful to watch, I can't even imagine living with it. Saw a clip of her whistling, lady has some serious skills, not a tic in sight. Very strange
But it’s still difficult. People think you’re being annoying so they pick on you. Like yesterday, someone put gum in my hair and told me to stfu. But I can’t help when I “bbbbuuu” or whistle a bit. Or kind of wink. I also make dripping noises like Anita. When I found her, I was so weirded out cause we have a few of the same tics
10:36 as an autistic person, I resonate with this so much. Explaining wHy it's hard for me to have a conversation with someone (and not talking 'next to' them / in their general direction) is like driving -- where I have to focus on "is my body language right?" "What is my face doing?" "what are my hands doing?" "It's been 3 seconds, I need to make eye-contact." "What were they saying?" "Oh they expect a response from me" and then I can't focus on the conversation... It's just so stressful, and that stress _increases_ with more people or even just background noises or music. But the neurotypicals don't understand, so they think I'm just being dramatic. (Even when I _say_ I'm autistic). It's so exhausting.
I expected to be laughing a lot, as you and your videos tend to be very funny and you always have lovely humor-and I did-but I also didn’t expect for all this insight. It was very interesting and educating as you articulated your thoughts and how it feels. Thank you as always for the lovely video!
"Lightning strikes the thing that sticks out the most" - That's so interesting. Could also explain why it's often the offensive stuff that gets triggered a lot. I guess there's more "weight" added to those things by the awareness that it's not socially desirable. Also points to why suppression achieves the opposite
This could be cool to do it again but with foreign alphabets like Italian one, that sounds different on vowels and R, or Japanese one that uses syllables
Genuinely love how you describe how you feel your brain works, be proud that you have put yourself out there where you could have hidden away. Inspirational and brilliant
Its so weird that tics show how our brains really remember things even if we don't consciously know it or have the ability to retrieve it, especially with the language ones.
I love the Alexa voice tic. It’s amazing. No disrespect meant. Also, I really like how you explain what is going in with you when it’s happening. Thank you for educating people about Tourette’s.
I am absolutely fascinated by your videos. The tics are really interesting. It’s like you have a really creative brain that just wants to send out interesting sounds and funny phrases. And the way you mimic stuff is amazing. Every tic involving a whistle, pop, or the SatNav voice is perfect each time. Like your brain has found a sound it likes, and has carved a groove in itself, like a vinyl record. I wonder if talking birds access sounds in a similar manner.

Yes. I learned to never give Anita an actual gun
"I'm trying for a straight line of thought, and instead of that, my brain just sends the electricity everywhere."
SO it WOULD be exhausting to trigger so many tic's in rapid succession like that, and she literally needs to take a minute and let it all settle down... catch her breath. The brain can't just run on glucose alone. It also NEEDS oxygen... ;o)
It's worth mentioning that I was gonna like your comment but didn't, in order to avoid making it the cursed number of satan himself.
@@LssjMagnumblitz that's the best number tho

@@GamingDualities not to mention she's no angel. It would be fishing for drama if they were trying to pitch her against a TH-camr or something but a person asking for your wellbeing, like literally?

But if there’s a challenge that’s similar to these but meant for people who have ADHD I would love to see

As I’m typing this it’s hard to get it down because I keep backspacing :’)
It’s really interesting to see how connected it all truly is! The brain doesn’t care about perfectly fitting into our neat little categorizations
My TS and OCD intertwine so much that I can’t tell which is which sometimes. For instance, some of my tics respond to intrusive thoughts.
anita's brain works like how a phone keyboard gives you suggestions

Look up that clip of her whistling the troll song. She's really good at it.
She went like “L 👈”
It's because of those voice donations where people love to put a lot of L's in a row, because it sounds funny.
You are honestly super sweet and it’s inspiring to see how strong you are and can use your struggles as something that just makes you unique.
Beeing able to say "Ix, Ypsilon, Zet" without knowing german/having learnt it for a day is pretty dope

"I'm not a bitch... I'm a STELLAR bitch."
Me, daily lmao
still a b itch tho
Pretty much
I cant imagine how difficult it must be living with this.
It’s very hard I’ve had Tourette’s for about 6 years now
It looks absolutely exhausting. And so frustrating for her. It's kinda painful to watch, I can't even imagine living with it.
Saw a clip of her whistling, lady has some serious skills, not a tic in sight. Very strange
@@treed5953 I saw her first on Among us video with disguised toast and some others.
I have facial tics but not torrents
It would be funny if she made a video of her talking to siri.
"I'm not a bitch, *Siri voice* I'm a stellar bitch" That was epic xD
Edit: Oh my god, my most liked comment ever xD
Read your comment precisely as the video played and Anita gave life to those words... this was beautiful.😊
@@mamamarianovits9029 isn't it satisfying when that happens ☺
@@Cr4z4y VERY much so
I was looking for this comment
I read it like 2 seconds before sadly :/
4:02 “No - computer says no. *pop* “
This needs a permanent place on my laptop.
I can't help but wonder if that was a "reference" to Little Britain lol
Feels like her brain literally telling her not to say the n word
I expected to be laughing a lot, as you and your videos tend to be very funny and you always have lovely humor-and I did-but I also didn’t expect for all this insight. It was very interesting and educating as you articulated your thoughts and how it feels. Thank you as always for the lovely video!
"Lightning strikes the thing that sticks out the most" - That's so interesting. Could also explain why it's often the offensive stuff that gets triggered a lot. I guess there's more "weight" added to those things by the awareness that it's not socially desirable. Also points to why suppression achieves the opposite
As someone who has had Tourette's for 8-9 years, I can confirm it exploits our compassion and self-respect.
I laughed so hard when she slapped her face that moment of pure confusion got me but i feel so sorry for her
This could be cool to do it again but with foreign alphabets like Italian one, that sounds different on vowels and R, or Japanese one that uses syllables
ohh yeah japanese or korean with the syllables is definitely going to trigger different tics
Or even just do it visually...
Genuinely love how you describe how you feel your brain works, be proud that you have put yourself out there where you could have hidden away. Inspirational and brilliant
*One Of My Favorite Tic That She Does Is The Bwekfast One LOL .*
Its so weird that tics show how our brains really remember things even if we don't consciously know it or have the ability to retrieve it, especially with the language ones.
psychology taught me that. it’s so cool
I love the Alexa voice tic. It’s amazing. No disrespect meant. Also, I really like how you explain what is going in with you when it’s happening. Thank you for educating people about Tourette’s.
i have tourette’s syndrome, and you’ve inspired me so much and thank you so much
I thought the guy was a video until he spoke back
Lmao same and when she did the computer voice at first I honestly didn’t realise it was her and I’m like GIRL HOW TF DID U DO THAT
An awesome turtle has certified this video with a Turtle Badge Of Approval.
Thank you, Turtle. Enjoy your day.
Lol I think u were the first person to comment
Apparently you're actually first
U are on everything i watch wtf turtle
Finally I have found u I was looking 4 ur comment in the 1 mil vid now I've found u hi turtle 👋
"I've got a gun" and "computer says no" she sounded almost exactly like google what-
Computer says no is from Little Britain, if you've ever seen it.
@@GetRekt-bw6pu I know I'm just talking abt the voice that sounded like google
I am absolutely fascinated by your videos. The tics are really interesting. It’s like you have a really creative brain that just wants to send out interesting sounds and funny phrases.
And the way you mimic stuff is amazing. Every tic involving a whistle, pop, or the SatNav voice is perfect each time. Like your brain has found a sound it likes, and has carved a groove in itself, like a vinyl record. I wonder if talking birds access sounds in a similar manner.
