Honestly no We have students right now and 2 of them have no even taken Anatomy 1 yet. I’m not sure how that works but it’s all depending on school policies.
Man this hit me hard, I’m 23 years old lost at life, working dead end jobs and been telling myself i want more than these jobs and I’ve been looking at Rad tech as a career for a while now. The only thing holding me back is the schooling, i was always a decent student but i feel like if i focused 100% i could do this.

No college needed just pay like 200-600$ for a 40hr radiation safety course and majority of plant inspection companies will hire or even. Offshore rigs. And eventually become a radiation/ gammray inspector
This was so motivational! I’m 27 and just feeling completely lost. I did the military right out of high school. I was in for 5 years and did not do any schooling while I was in. I felt so behind in life when I got out because all my friends were graduating college and getting their career jobs. I thought that by the time I got out of the military, I would feel drawn towards something to pursue. That didn’t happen. I’ve been working entry level jobs and I am so tired of feeling stuck. I thought that with my military background it might give me a leg up on some positions but that’s not the case in my experience. I’ve applied for the prerequisite classes that I need before applying for the program. I’m so beyond scared at just the idea of starting over but I’m just as scared to stay in the same position.

I did seven years in the army. Got out last December and a few months later, I applied to a community college in my state and got accepted. Keep your head up. When the going gets tough, keep pushing on.
How are you holding up? I just got out of the navy after 8 years in December. started a job as a Correctional Officer. The coworkers and pay are great, the hours are aweful. 19 12 hour shifts per month and training on your little off days. I'm working off some debt before I go to school full time. Still waiting on the VA rating. Hang in there man, the adjustment to the new life has been difficult for me.
Juan, I commented on this very video two years ago because I was struggling in my rad tech program. I pointed out just how much this video helped me in pushing forward through the hard times. Today I passed my board exam and have become a licensed radiographer. Thanks so much for the content u put out! It made a difference in my life and I’m sure there will be many others to come who feel the same.
Thank you for making this vid. I am just now getting started to apply for the Rad Tech program. I attempted a nursing degree and gave up. Got married, had my son. Just worked a 9-5 in the medical field. I found myself feeling lost and depressed and unfulfilled. You nailed it! It is what you put into it. AND if you want it bad enough, you will not fail. I mean, this is exactly what I needed to hear today! I want to show my son that it is never too late. Figure out what you love and get it! Make it happen, work hard and stay focused. Don't give up, EVER! Thanks again for your inspiring words! Am going to subscribe !🙂
I’m 3 months into my RT program and so far I’m loving it! My life completely revolves around studying and I’m lucky if I have 1 day off per week but I know it will be worth it. As my professor says, “the hassle is worth the tassel!”
Yo! That’s awesome news! I’m glad your enjoying your career choice & yes it’s school basically 24/7 until you pass your registry. After that it’s ceu’s to keep your license. Thanks for watching & supporting my channel i appreciate you 🙏🏽
Hey there! My boyfriend has been looking into RT programs recently too, so I've been doing some research into it but I can't find anywhere where it says how the students study full time but still pay for things. I'm sorry if this is an inappropriate question, so please feel free to ignore it if this isn't something you want to share, I'm not trying to make anyone uncomfortable. But how do you work enough to pay your bills but still keep up with school? Is that something you just have to save for, or lots of loans? Thanks if you do reply, but no worries if you don't!

First thank you for uploading this information, I’m 35, was in the casino industry for a while working security. Decided to try for law enforcement but blew out my knee before I got a chance to get to the academy. Been considering going down this route. I’ve always wanted to help people, now that I have a wife, a 3 year old and another one on the way, maybe this is a better route to go. From the sound of it, definitely won’t be easy but I won’t be getting shot at or dealing with dv’s. Definitely considering going down this road. This seems like an opportunity to provide for my family, put in the work and I have the chance to give them a good life.
Sup Gary! Yo! It’s never to late man! If this is what you really want you can do it! Follow me on instagram “JReactz863” DM that’s it’s you & I will give you the insight on becoming an RT!
I’m currently working in customer service and do not want to do this for much longer. I feel very unfulfilled. I’ve been looking into being a rad tech since I graduated high school in 2014 and it seems like a very interesting and rewarding career. I am about to be 26 next month and feel like it’s too late for me to even consider a career as a rad tech but this video was very helpful

I’m in school right now just got my CMA in 3 months now I just finished my first week of x ray and I just turned 27 this week. You’re not too old there’s 30yr old and 50 year olds in my class
Girl same! I also graduated c/o 2014 wanting to pursue radiology but I stayed in customer service and studied a little business until I quit 2 months ago 😅 turned 26 in Feb and I think I’m ready to take this serious again… we should take this as a sign 🥺💪 we’re still young we just had other things to learn & experience first🤍
Hi ! I know this video was 2 years ago, but somehow it popped up on my YT! I start xray school next month & definitely needed these motivational words because i’ve been feeling nervous & excited as time gets closer! 💓😩
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Hope you consider subscribing I have tons of great informative videos 🙂 I’m so glad you found this video & channel but most importantly I want to say I’M PROUD OF YOU FOR TAKING THIS STEP! So many people stop themselves from doing something because they are afraid to fail & you are not one of them! Your going to do GREAT‼️
I’m 22 years old and have been out of school for about 4-5 years now. I always wanted to help people and contribute to society some way. When I was in high school I thought abt being an x ray tech but I wasn’t confident enough because I was afraid I wouldn’t commit to it and just leave and give up. So I went to cma even though doing the hours and stuff was fun it just wasn’t for me. I was so nervous abt hurting my patient by putting the needle to deep in the arm or piercing a vein to hard in their arm to try and draw blood, so I was like nope I’m out haha. So now I’m reconsidering radiology as my career. I’m going to take a week to really think about this and search for schools but I said this to say that with you explaining all of this you have sparked a jolt of hope in my heart to even think about doing radiology as a career standpoint in my life. So thank you so much for these tips and stuff I truly appreciate it!

Hey Juan, I just want to say thank u so much for this video. It’s my 2nd week in my program and I feel so overwhelmed. Already I’ve cried working in this program because of the frustration of not grasping what I’m doing and the fear of failure. When you mentioned that you cried a lot, I felt a lot better. Not because ur tears bring me joy but because I felt like I wasn’t alone in this feeling. I never related so hard to a sentence. Thank for being authentic and thanks for the amazing words of motivation in this video!
Thank you for watching & supporting my channel 🙏🏽 It brings me pleasure that this content helped you & remember you’ll have good days and bad days but if you stick through it …..it’s so so worth it at the end 🙏🏽💯 You GOT THIS & ILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

What Juan said in the video about not allowing yourself to fail really is true. But I’m not done yet so gotta keep pushing.
@@imarealjuan8092keep pushing! As long as you don’t give up, you can make it!!! Good luck 👍🏽 also, I have a question…what makes it so hard so early on? The 2yr program I’m gonna try (God willing) is at my local community college and I just assumed the beginning was mainly prerequisite classes…if u get this and don’t mind sharing, plz let me know what classes u started out with…I hope you are getting the motivation you need and the successful outcome you deserve! ☺️
@@sinahaase9923I’m sorry for the late reply as I just saw your message. But what makes it difficult is subjective and different for everybody. Especially since not all programs are laid out the same. What was difficult for me personally was learning how to study. I dropped out of high school so I never really formed any good study habits. Juggling all my classes together alongside my day to day life was very hard for me. But it wasn’t impossible. My program didn’t have pre reqs so I had to take more electives as a result of it all. The first semester I had a basic intro to radiography class and the rest of my classes were electives, (AnP 1-2, Public Speaking, Medical Terminology etc…). The following semester I always had 3 radiology classes such as X-ray positioning, physics, and bio/protection. The classes got harder as I went along but the stress decreased for me personally as I got better in the subjects with repetition. I have full faith that if you’re dedicated you’ll do great in the program. I’m rooting for you!!!

Very informative video! I want to apply to the programs here in NY but the one thing that’s making me overthink is my height lol, I’m afraid I won’t be able to meet the physical demands of the profession like being able to reach to certain things. Any thoughts on this?

I made a mistake in wanting to follow the crowd, in high school, since the student body is very small, it was a competitive private school. (I came from a public school) I always was someone who wants to blend in, and I was able to when I was in a public school with 30 classmates per class, unlike my high school that I graduated from that had maybe 5-10 classmates per class, if you're lucky. I guess since I transferred schools, I've never managed to change my mentality for the better. And that has followed me to last year, which was my first year of college. I honestly feel like I screwed up, 1. it's the same situation, it's a very small school, in fact i had some classes with only 3 students. (We were in the biomedical major) I felt like I had unconsciously compared myself to them because of how smart they were, and i kept falling behind. In fact, this year I'm retaking bio classes. After thinking about my life instead of just continuing this path i had searched around and noticed that rad techs seemed interesting, and ngl it has less math compared to nursing and seemed easier for me since I'm bad at math. but i want to get into the health field and as an introvert i tried looking around for something that is at a sweet spot for me. Im currently thinking of potentially transferring school that has a rad tech program, next year. Im planning to take some classes from their school, this year. And i will continue to go to my current college because i made this decision too late. So i'm planning to get all the prereq. for the course and the additional courses i can take beforehand and hoepefully get in. Honestly, I feel like i had wasted so much time and i feel guily and worried that i cant make this goal. Sorry for dumping all this stuff, i just felt the need to say it out loud here.

Been looking at goin back to school. Wasted so much time now that im a wrinkly old past due age of 32. Lol. I have been eyeing the healthcare profession. Currently working fulltime customer service, but i feel like im wasting my energy or time in that where i know i can go for something where i can be valued and grow in. Which leads me to healthcare because i feel like i can grow or at least id feel like what i do matters and helping ppl is my thing. Went to college but dropped out early and honestly i didnt know what i wanted to do at the time. So no pre req classes done or nothing. So ive read that radio tech is a full time program? How would you suggest i go about stepping and gettin my feet wet in goin to school while working full time? Are there other professions in the healthcare field you would suggest? I like the idea of radio tech over rn because i know that u have your chaotic days but you also in a sense have some breathing room if that makes sense. Like you do your own tasks at your pace. I like that. So any tips you could share with someone like me with anxiety but wanting to make something of my life? Lol Also nice informative vids maan!
Yo sup Jorge So it’s hard to explain everything on here. Follow me on Instagram “JReactz863” DM that it’s you and then I can message you & explain to you how everything works 💯
I'm about to get out of the military and looking into radiology. What steps would you recommend on looking for the right school and what to be prepared for? I'm already used to waking up early and being patient as things pop up last minute. As you said "We need to put in the work and not go into things expecting them to be easy." Any thing helps man I appreciate it and love helping people and really wanna continue doing it. Thanks Bro.
Hey bro Welcome to my channel. I have made a few videos on this topic please feel free to look through them I don’t sugarcoat anything I’m straight up about what to expect in Radiology & I love helping people bro. If you have further questions please follow me on Instagram “JReactz863” DM your questions on there it’s easier to answer. I got you 💯💯
The only thing one should be scared of is an easy xray program. Believe me, you want a bootcamp program that will over prepare you for the boards. I ended up advancing to an MRI program that was easy in comparison. I ended up having to teach it to myself to prepare for boards. Therefore, an easy program, makes your life harder in the longrun. "Inverse relationship" lol
Hello Juan I am seriously thinking of starting radiology tech school. But if I do it I am surely going to be 100% committed. I’ve been in the bar business for 6 years now the kitchen manager but after back surgery I need to find a different job. I love that you mentioned showing up 15 minutes early too, as I have always strived to do that and continue to throughout my 6 years even starting as a cook. My surgeon has even said this would be a great option for me to begin radiology schooling. I have watched a few of your videos now and you do such a good job explaining everything so clearly I’m sure it has something to do with your desire to help others. One thing I need to ask is should I be worried that I didn’t ever take a physics course in high school? I am sure the college physics courses are going to be a challenge to begin with (especially with no background on physics at all) but if I do this I am NOT letting my time go to waste I am there to learn all that I possibly can in the time given. I hope you have a fantastic holiday!
Yo sup Brad ! Welcome and thank you for watching & supporting my channel I truly appreciate you 🙏🏽 Ok so Radiology is a demanding/Physical job you will be on your feet a lot especially if you work at a hospital and need to to OR Cases you could be on your feet for hours (no joke). If they assign you for ER on a particular day that always can be hectic because everyone gets an X-ray no matter why they come in. If your assigned to Inpatient Portables you will be like 20-30 per day depending on what hospital you work at of course and that’s tough because sometimes you can’t find nurse to help and you have to put that plate behind their back and they are heavy. So I’m not trying to scare you away from Radiology but I’m being straight up and truthful before you make that move. I would honestly suggest going to Physical Therapy Assistant it’s the same amount of time as Radiology 2 years and they get paid actually more with less BS. They get paid around $35 hr plus they don’t work overnight or be in-call or no Trauma ER patients. Super dope career to be honest. Hopefully this helped and GOD BLESS BRO🙏🏽💯
I’m 33 and new mom I have been CNA for 4 years and I don’t want to go back to it. So I was looking into radio tec, but clueless on where to start. Is might be stupid question but can I take online courses or do I have to be physically at campus? Thank you in advance!

Hey Juan! Just want to say thank you so much for sharing this video 🙏🏽 Im 27 right now. Ive spent so many years working dead end jobs food, warehouse, grocery you name it man. I feel like im at a point in my life where if i want to make a change I need to do it now haha. So, I went to talk to an Army recuiter, looked through the jobs and found Radialogy specialist, watched your videos and now feel more motivated than ever to become a Radiologist in the Army! I was never the smartest student either.. so its nice to hear that as long as im dedicated and remember why Im doing this, the process should be that much easier! - (Also) I never took any Physics in highschool, should I be worried? Hi. Might I ask how much computer work is involved with the career. Reason I ask is based on injuries. Spending a lot of time really takes a tole on the hands. Thanks ! Great video!

Hey, science is my weakest subject and I'm not that great at exams, but I want to study radiography. I don't have a great memory either but I'm a very committed person, do you think i should study radiography? I hit straight A's (UK Grading system) in business and law but I don't have much interest in these subjects, I just find them easy. I worked with Dr's in non-clinical setting as a medical admin and developed a interest at looking at x-rays. I'm very conflicted whether I should pursue or not as I find science extremely difficult. Any advice would be much appreciated. Also I'm a mature student (30) with a toddler so I think it may be harder for me to go back into education but I'm willing to give it a shot. Thank you for the inspiring video 🥰
Hello Gurtek, Ok so trust me if you study you will pass. Radiology isn’r easy but nothing is it will take most of your effort and concentration to pass. I’m not a great exam person either and I’m not smart never had A’s but I’m very dedicated and I believed in myself now I’m certified in Radiology & Cat Scan (CT). So if I can do it you can do it 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Also if you have more questions and don’t want to wait follow me on Instagram (jreactz863) I will help you faster there 🙏🏽

Hi Sanaaniz Trust me you will be fine but just stay MOTIVATED, DEDICATED & SACRIFICE time. You have 37 now & will end up with less than 20 but YOU will be ok 🙏🏽💯💯
I heard that you have to renew your arrt certified radiology tech license every two years in order to keep working as a tech, is this true? Apparently it applies to all the cardio and other tech jobs, along with a physical and occupational therapist assistant. If so then tbh maybe a dental hygienist might be a better option for a 2 year degree I feel like.
Depends on your state Some states done ask for state license but in FL we have to have a state license to work so we need 12 ceu’s per year but ARRT ask for 24 every 2 years so it comes out to the same. Not sure about dental hygienist but I did a video that career it’s here in my videos look for it and watch. Thank you 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 How beneficial is it to have a masters degree in diagnostic imaging in the USA? Do technologists with master's degrees generally get higher positions?
Hi Ok so the Radiology Technologist test which is ARRT that’s your final exam to be a certified technologist. You do that after the program. Yes prerequisites first, then Radiology tech program, then ARRT REGISTRY EXAM.
Hey Juan been checking out your vids the past few weeks and was curious to see if you knew if someone who doesn’t have a medical back ground could get into this field? My background is in supply chain but I’ve been very interested in changing fields and going back to school any info is appreciated thanks

Would you recommend this program for someone with a spelling disability, I don't want to doubt myself but I always struggled with reading and spelling.
You can get accommodations in college if you have a learning disability. Talk with your school. Do not let your learning disability hold you back from your dream hun! Good luck 🤍

That’s how I feel at 28 .

I’m so glad you found this video & channel but most importantly I want to say I’M PROUD OF YOU FOR TAKING THIS STEP!

This is my fear about going into the radiology program. Feeling like I’m not capable enough to get through it. I remind myself that I just have to keep my head up and I’m able to do anything I put my mind to.
It was hard for me. I was so stressed out. Unfortunately our problem was the teacher. She didn't let us ask more than 2 questions.
Aww thats not good
The teacher is the best part of the program if they are not any good than the program would be even tougher😳
Where did you go to school and did you complete it?
Just curious
I’m finishing my prereqs so I can apply for clinicals the following year. I’ve worked dead end jobs for years and I wanted a career and my parents mentioned this to me. I’m doing this for my daughters to give them a better life and be able to stand on my own two feet.

Yo!

Lol

SAME BOAT MAN!!!

Welcome and thank you for watching & supporting my channel I truly appreciate you 🙏🏽
Ok so Radiology is a demanding/Physical job you will be on your feet a lot especially if you work at a hospital and need to to OR Cases you could be on your feet for hours (no joke).
I’m 33 and new mom
I have been CNA for 4 years and I don’t want to go back to it. So I was looking into radio tec, but clueless on where to start.
Is might be stupid question but can I take online courses or do I have to be physically at campus?

Hi Sanaaniz
Trust me you will be fine but just stay MOTIVATED, DEDICATED & SACRIFICE time.
Depends on your state
Some states done ask for state license but in FL we have to have a state license to work so we need 12 ceu’s per year but ARRT ask for 24 every 2 years so it comes out to the same.
Not sure about dental hygienist but I did a video that career it’s here in my videos look for it and watch.

Here you go bro
Nice video! You mentioned 3 days of school a week for the program. How often does one do clincials?
Honestly every school is different.
Some schools have only class for 3 months straight & then 3 months straight or clinicals.
Other schools mix it up
@@juanmotiva8s959 Okay I gotcha, so what is the load like, how many classes does one take a semester?

I am studying radiography in the UK, it's a 3 year bachelors course. I would like to work in the US would it be a challenge finding employment?
The employment here in the U.S. isn’t hard to find but I’m not sure how hard it is to work here when your degree is from another country.
@@juanmotiva8s959 How beneficial is it to have a masters degree in diagnostic imaging in the USA? Do technologists with master's degrees generally get higher positions?
Honestly No
But if you do have your Masters it’s easier to move up in management.
how do you study for rad tech registry test? when do you take that. I gotta do all my pre reqs first.
Hi
Ok so the Radiology Technologist test which is ARRT that’s your final exam to be a certified technologist.
Hey Terrance
Welcome 🙏🏽
No medical experience needed as long as you get the prerequisites done you can apply to the program.
Thanks for watching & hopefully you consider subscribing 🙏🏽
Would you recommend this program for someone with a spelling disability, I don't want to doubt myself but I always struggled with reading and spelling.
That’s tough but if you try
You can do it with extra green effort 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 Thanks for your reply👍🏾
You can get accommodations in college if you have a learning disability. Talk with your school. Do not let your learning disability hold you back from your dream hun! Good luck 🤍
congrats 👏you did it!
Thank You 🙏🏽 ❤️
Do you have to take continual classes to renew your license along with tests or just classes?

Does the school have to be JCERT accredited to be able to get lisenced in California?
Yes any school nation wide had to be JCERT in order to sit for the ARRT REGISTRY ☢️
Thank you for the video. I have a question. What do you think about someone English is not his first language? Can he be successful in radiology? What is the chance for black foreign citizen to be successful in radiology in America?
Kirikoo
