This video was extremely helpful right now I’m debating about going straight to a MRI school or taking the RT program. I’m now leaning towards RT because I like the idea of starting a foundation and building off of it like you said. My question is tho once you pass the RT program what jobs are immediately available in a hospital setting with that certification? Assuming one doesn’t go back to school for MRI or CT etc. Thanks!
Mario Welcome bro 🙏🏽 Hope you subscribed & like it helps my TH-cam algorithm 🙏🏽 Ok so as soon as your done with the RT Program the hospitals you rotate through will jump hoops to hire you! There’s a need in all medical professions! You will have plenty of jobs to choose from & then you can make a solid decision if you want to purse MRI or CT or BOTH!
Interesting! No where around me offers MRI schooling without going for RT first. I just started doing ore reqd to get into the RT program at the school near me. My end goal is definitely MRI, but having the basics is definitely better because i can transition into so many different things. I feel like I'll definitely find the right fit for me in my 2nd year rotations when i get to work in different areas, and maybe ill learn the MRI isn't what i want to do. I just think MRIs are so cool, its definitely something i want to at least try.

First of all, you showed a comparison between an xray table vs a ct machine and its not an mri. While it holds true that RT is a good foundation to start with, mr its more on the soft tissues and you have to be able to distinguish the organs too. Also, MR contrast uses gad and have less reaction than dye based w/c is used in ct. lastly, how hard it is to check a patients gfr and if they ever had kidney problems? If found yes, the exam would just be a dry scan.

Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so yes if you go into MRI first and you didn’t enjoy it then you will have to go to Radiology Technologist school for 2 years. If you go to Radiology Technologist school first once your a registered tech you can go to MRI school or cross train at a hospital for MRI. There’s NO cross training from MRI to X-Ray though. The better one is hard to determine because everyone if different. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Hey man just started following your channel, I’m working on the prerequisites now so I can get into my states community college RT program next year hopefully. I’m wondering though which modality do you recommend after the base? I was thinking MRI or ultrasound, but would love to know your input?

Im asking because all the cc that have radiology programs are far from me.
Yo! Welcome 🙏🏽 Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so if you go to a community college you can minor in Radiology Technologist which will take 4 years total with your prerequisites but then you can get your BA (Major) in Biology. Have you by any chance heard if the school PIMA is overall any good? I tried doing some research but can’t find much on radiology here in LV. I feel like I don’t have many options here in Las Vegas. Either UNLV or PIMA and I don’t see myself going to UNLV, I’ve never been to college just finished HS. What do recommend or think? Thank you for your videos and knowledge you are sharing much appreciated.
Hi Raquel 👋 Welcome if you haven’t already please consider subscribing it’s help my channel’s algorithm so more people can get this knowledge 🙏🏽 Ok yes I’ve heard of PIMA it’s actually not bad the only thing is make sure you can sit for your ARRT NATIONAL REGISTRY before signing up. If the school isn’t JCERT ACCREDITED than you can’t take your ARRT exam which then means you waist money and time 👀
Reason for most guys like myself who don't want to do RT first is because of pre reqs and mri schools do not require any pre reqs none at all. Pre reqs is time wasted
Well not really time wasted if you don’t know what your getting yourself into. It’s always good to have options plus if you go straight to MRI school & say you don’t like it …then what? 🤔
@juanmotiva8s959 im mostly speaking for dudes in their 30s , 40s , and 50s. Even if we end up not liking it, we will suck it up and finish it. As an adult in this age range, you just suck it up and do it for your family. Chase the bag !

Sup Justin 👋 Welcome First THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 🙏🏽🇺🇸 & please smash 💥 that subscribe button, along with Like, Comment it definitely helps my channel’s algorithm so more people can get this information. Ok so it all depends on what school you choose Private or Public. If you go Public it takes about 2-3 years & you’ll graduate with an A.S. In Radiology. Same as Private but private schools can be easier to get into the program and some only take about 16 months. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@juanmotiva8s959 I was thinking public school since it would be more time but I want to give myself breathing room to learn the courses, I haven't found a school yet and I am currently working a full time job and in order to get the most out of my VA benefits I need to maintain 12 credits a semester, also would you be able to provide a list of courses that I need to learn from start to finish so I can go from knowing nothing about the rad tech field to graduating with an associates in radiology, and let's say I wanted to go crosstrain into the mri tech field would I have to go to school separately for that ?

Thank you to anyone responding.

Ok so yes if you go into MRI first and you didn’t enjoy it then you will have to go to Radiology Technologist school for 2 years.
If you go to Radiology Technologist school first once your a registered tech you can go to MRI school or cross train at a hospital for MRI.
There’s NO cross training from MRI to X-Ray though.
The better one is hard to determine because everyone if different.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
PS: once you’re a registered technologist there’s a school here in Miami, FL which allows you to become an MRI TECH in 3 months!
Hey man just started following your channel, I’m working on the prerequisites now so I can get into my states community college RT program next year hopefully. I’m wondering though which modality do you recommend after the base? I was thinking MRI or ultrasound, but would love to know your input?

Hey man I just finished high school and want to start with rad tech cause it gives you a foundation like you said. I’m going the community college route cause it’s the most affordable and I was wondering if you have to major in radiologic technology or can I major in something different like biology? Im asking because all the cc that have radiology programs are far from me.
Yo!

Ok so if you go to a community college you can minor in Radiology Technologist which will take 4 years total with your prerequisites but then you can get your BA (Major) in Biology.
Most State Colleges have BA’s now so your making smart move.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 Thanks! do you know
any of the downsides of taking the cc route?
@IJCHASE Taking the CC route may take longer to complete the program but way better. Hope this helped 🙏🏽
Is there a danger or side effect of radiation that can affect your health if you work as mri tech or rad tech
Hello 👋
Welcome please don’t forget to Subscribe, Watch & like my videos it helps the channel.
Ok so no there’s no danger
Teach you safety in school so if you do them on a regular basis you will be fine.
There's no radiation using MRI. As a rad tech you will get radiation but it's very minimal and there are lead shielding provided by the hospitals.
@03chue Welcome 🙏🏽
You’re absolutely correct!

Radiology Technologist (RT) = X-Ray Tech.
RT is more like the professional way of saying it 🙂
Have you by any chance heard if the school PIMA is overall any good? I tried doing some research but can’t find much on radiology here in LV. I feel like I don’t have many options here in Las Vegas. Either UNLV or PIMA and I don’t see myself going to UNLV, I’ve never been to college just finished HS. What do recommend or think?
Thank you for your videos and knowledge you are sharing much appreciated.
Hi Raquel 👋

Ok yes I’ve heard of PIMA it’s actually not bad the only thing is make sure you can sit for your ARRT NATIONAL REGISTRY before signing up.
If the school isn’t JCERT ACCREDITED than you can’t take your ARRT exam which then means you waist money and time 👀
@@juanmotiva8s959 Thank you 😊
@raquel8588 my pleasure 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959PIMA is really expensive and competitive to get in.

This is good dialogue. Thank you for both sharing your own thoughts. I’m 29 years old, no kids but in a committed relationship and we have a mortgage. I’m trying to get in the field the fastest but would like a strong foundation if I transition from talent acquisition.
So i am deciding getting an Bachelor degree. Would i also need another 2years for radiology?

Ok so yes if doesn’t matter what your bachelors is in or even if you get all your prerequisites & only have an A.S.
It will still take you 2 years to complete an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
So they offer an associates degree in Radiologic Technology at my local community college you think it's worth it?
Absolutely!
Yes go for it ‼️💪🏽
Would you recommend medical assisting to see which field you would like best?
Hi 👋
Welcome 🙏🏽
If you haven’t already please consider subscribing it helps TH-cam share my content to people who need it 🙂
Ok no I didn’t recommend Medical Assistant you have to much responsibility with not enough pay or ability to move up in the future.
Medical Assistant usually takes 1 year in that same 1 year you can become an LPN & then when your ready bridge into RN. You can’t do that in medical assistant.
Don’t let private schools lie to you 🙏🏽
I'm thinking of going to one of the scan tech( still watching your videos / research )
So my question is do I have to be good at English?i finished my AA but idk what to do next also my English not that good and lack of confidence 😒. Any advice for me?

Is starting IV’s/needle work necessary for every role in the medical field? And is it as difficult to perform as people make it seem?
Not in general xray.
But in CT & MRI you do.
Not hard at all, very easy
Do you have to learn IV’s in RT school?
Honestly I don’t think so but if you do it’s just a run down & you wouldn’t have to do it in real clinicals.
Is it hard to study rad tech online? Or its better in person?
Yo!

I don’t recommend nor think you can do Radiology Technologist on-line but I could be wrong.
It’s a tough program so if you find an on-line one don’t do it …Go to class 💯

@@juanmotiva8s959 whats the difference between radtech certificate vs associate degree?
Im thinking of being a radiology tech and am thinking of using my post 9-11 Gi bill, could i get either an associates or bachelor and get it done before or at 4 years ? Trying to go to school without student debt

Ok so it all depends on what school you choose Private or Public. If you go Public it takes about 2-3 years & you’ll graduate with an A.S. In Radiology.
Same as Private but private schools can be easier to get into the program and some only take about 16 months.
Hope this helped 🙏🏽
@juanmotiva8s959
I was thinking public school since it would be more time but I want to give myself breathing room to learn the courses, I haven't found a school yet and I am currently working a full time job and in order to get the most out of my VA benefits I need to maintain 12 credits a semester, also would you be able to provide a list of courses that I need to learn from start to finish so I can go from knowing nothing about the rad tech field to graduating with an associates in radiology, and let's say I wanted to go crosstrain into the mri tech field would I have to go to school separately for that ?
@justins7154 th-cam.com/video/jkiJp8ZP6bk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Hope this helps & yes MRI is separate training
@juanmotiva8s959
Will watch this video now thank you, also I read as of April 2023 the Covid shot isn't required anymore to get into medical school is this accurate ?
@justins7154 Honestly I have no idea on that part I think it’s up to the school you chooses policy
Dang it takes years to specialize in other things ?? May as well go to med school

Yeah man I have to at times, I always don’t have the time at home.
I trust MRI Man over this guy. Going to MRI immediately is a perfectly fine path. A lot of hospitals nowadays are hiring people who went straight to MRI schools. This isn’t 10-15 years ago anymore, where hospitals were hesitant to do so.
Trust who you want I’m not here to compete with anyone.
I’m just stating facts & if you or anyone else chooses MRI first nothing wrong with that.
Wish you the best in your endeavors.
There’s a school I’m going to called WestCoast ultrasound institute. They have MRI, ultrasound, nursing school. Unfortunately no X-ray
In AZ
Imagine not trusting someone who’s already in their field and bag 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yes absolutely you can but not all schools teach Radiation Therapy so you must search for one who does.
hey Juan, one question, did you have to take a entrance exam like the wonderlic exam and a math exam before you started your career in radiology technology 🥲
Honestly no when I went back then I attended a Private School (which I don’t recommend ) & they didn’t ask for anything.
