I have 7 of them in different sizes with one of them being one of the originals which has to be 8 years old!! My 2500 has been battered with waggler work, I've never had an issue with any of them, they're absolutely brilliant.
We also sell bucket loads of them in the shop and I can't remember seeing one come back.

I started match fishing in the 60s and moved over to beach fishing, im making the move back to course fishing commercial ponds. What would you advise I have a shimano 2500 but was going to invest in two more reels one for feeder fishing and one for waggler fishing what's your thoughts make and size

I had 2 x 3’s & 2 x 4’s & had issues with every one of them, with line going behind the spool.
    Gone to TDR’s now.

Daiwa Ninja are a gem. I got my first 4000, felt amazing perfect like a clock, built to last low maintenance. Bought a 2nd for different line switch, a 3rd just for kicks because they are cheap thinking my first with 4 years could break (still a clock), a 4th by impulse (couldnt resist why not...), today I bought my 5th second hand lt6000, just because i feel they are going to extinct... 🤣
Best line of reels ever for me, just like some few line of rods or everything that comes up some times in the market one time...

I’ve got five of the ninja 4000 reels Tom,as you know I fish a wide variety of venues from the tidal Trent,Southfield,Hallcroft and decoy. I can’t comment on the newer ninja reels but I’ve had mine for over ten years and they’re still going strong mate 👍

My experience with the crossfires and the ninjas was there is a design fault, that being the bail arm doesn't clear the spool when opening and closing. I would hope they've put that right by now as it was a few years ago but i wouldn't buy another. Preston and nitro are easily as good £ for £, however the first series ninja 12ft match rod is the best all round match rod I've ever used so far, got it on sale at bobco for £40.

I still fish with my shakespeare Firebird.. think its a 30 model... From 1990. Its quality. Never had an issue. Had it since a kid. Teamed up with a silstar 12 foot float rod... Admittedly when i was 14 i broke the tip but got it repaired and its gone strong since.
I think after my pending operation i will buy some new kit and the ninja line appeals to me. Lets hope i survive to be able to get to spend some money on the kit lol

The LT doesn't come with a spare spool. The older ninja was way stronger and came with a spare spool. The best thing about the LT is how smooth they are .

Looks like more of the same as everyone else but in piano black, a bit of metallic red and a bucket full of chrome plated plastic.

And......what's your point? It's a £50-60 reel that's smoother than most other reels at this price point. What do you expect for that price?

I believe Daiwa has been going nearly as long as Dave Roberts, although He doesn’t count the War years. These are very smooth reels but although not as robust as the originals, still good value.

Matrix horizon much better reel IMO I've had both but now have 2 horizons
1 thing I don't like about them is the knob to tighten the handle is a bit close to the rotor and awkward to release with cold fingers
