I've always viewed Broly as Dragon Ball's version of The Hulk, the way he fights, the aggresive behavior, and the pure rage belowing inside him, hell give Hulk the ability to fly and shoot ki blasts, and you get Broly.
For sure, he is like a Mutant. Broly is like the chosen one of his race and his genes are the rarest only seen every 1000 years. His Saiyan power is immeasurably magnified that his Super Saiyan form is estimated at 500x his base, compared to 50x base which genetically applies to every other super saiyan including Gohan. He is an anomaly and essentially the the embodiment of Saiyan power in its purest form. The best part is the series looks like it’s going in the direction where we may see more of these two phenoms.
While a 500x base may have applied to his original incarnation, it's nowhere near accurate to his most recent appearance. Rather than a standard multiplier, it stands to reason that his power rises exponentially following the transformation into his Legendary state. That's the only explanation as to how he'd be able to stand toe to toe with God forms, much less fusion. I estimate that his transformation is closer to a "base x base" multiplier, much like Metamoran/ Potara fusion, rather than a standard 50x-500x increase typical of a standard Super Saiyan transformation.
I think in the latest movie, the stardust breaker didn't work because Broly isn't evil and that's why Gogeta smirks after this happens. He was probably testing this out and was happy with the result.
Wouldn't make sense since Goku already knew he was not evil, so why use it to test if he was evil?? Makes not much sense, I just think that the attack doesn't clean the user from evil like it did back then on the Janemba movie
Broly has always been an awesome character, his power is on an otherworldly scale compared to the vast majority of other Saiyans. I loved the American soundtrack in the first Z Broly movie and it was cool to see him get rebooted into the mainstream series. Regardless of whichever version, Broly still has that appeal and never lets down.
Goku and vegita, have to training and fight and die over multiple seasons and series and broly just beats them without earning any of his power. Really cheapens super sayians and hard work
I have always looked at all three of them as different dynamics of a fighter: Broly = Strength & Grappling Vegeta = Natural Talent & Dedication Goku = Strategy & Flexibility
Vegeta should be dedication and natural talent Goku should be flexibility and strategy. Goku was always a low class warrior that worked to greatness, vegeta was born to it as a super elite. Their first fight was all about the dynamic, Goku even says it, "Even a low class warrior can surpass an elite, with enough hard work" And Goku was always shown to be a very good strategist, although a case can be made that Goku is just as dedicated as Vegeta

Vegeta has always been the smarter of the 2, and of the 3 now… and has always been working himself to death just to keep up with Goku until recently. Way more dedication on his side in my opinion. @@gamerghxst Natural talent isn't what set them apart. Its their reasons for fighting that set them apart. Vegeta was always fighting and training to be number 1, Goku on the other hand was doing it to improve himself. If you watch the speech Vegeta gave when discussing Goku during the Buu fight, Vegeta never says Goku is better than him because of his natural talent, Vegeta says Goku is always able to push himself past his limits because of his joy of fighting and improving himself. Goku has always been talented yeah, but Vegeta WAS the prodigy that Goku had to surpass and did so by using various abilities and techniques that he learned through hard work. Vegeta was shocked he even took damage because Vegeta was the super elite, not Goku. Vegeta was born into greatness, Goku was not. Even after that fight on Earth, Goku was training to surpass himself while Vegeta was enjoying his time killing members of Friezas soldiers trying to prove himself to be superior. Again, even during that Buu sage speech about Goku being better, Vegeta states he could never figure out what set them apart, or why Goku kept improving faster than Vegeta. At first he assumed it was because of his friends and family, but he even mentions how even when he got his family, the gap still grew and it was there that Vegeta concluded he was better because of Gokus love for simply improving himself for improvements sake. Not once did Vegeta say it was because Goku was naturally more talented than him.
What for me sets Broly apart from other villains and DB cast, is his fighting style. Brutal, merciless, zero fucks given about his own survival. He doesn't care what you throw at him, just plows right through it. Unless your attack can straight up kill him, he will just shrug it off. There is no lightning fast exchange of blows, just this tidalwave of muscle and momentum piledriving you into the ground. And that's just simply badass.
I really like the new Broly but to be honest I think I prefer the OG Broly. I loved the mythology and legend behind it all and i just think they've humanised him for canon. Also I'm not overly keen how he's gone from not being able to even compete with Goku in base to whooping him in SSB. i think it's just a bit too much of a jump personally. but i do enjoy his new story though. hopefully he'll be a more regular feature in the manga post Granolah arc with some good character development.
I like both Broly’s But design wise and character wise Z just had this feel to him like super had this animalistic feel with the animal fur dumped on this horrid planet and became Tarzan like etc. but Z just had this Superiority to him he’s adorned with this almost Egyptian like attire meant for kings or gods Z broly also had this animalistic nature too but not as Feral it was more distinguished almost like and Apex predator and Apex of the Sayians
Yeah Z broly felt like a sort of Frankenstein of the saiyans a legend that epitomizes the cruelty of their race a true villain when he is consumed by his power. Remember broly is a pretty meek guy in his base form not entirely evil just a loaded gun with a secret trigger. The sight of Kakarot. Once that happens he turns into a complete psychopath less cold and calculating as Frieza but a focused rage
The feats behind Broly in the first movie put him wayyy beyond DBZ lol, they just didn’t flesh out how strong the cast was supposed to be during the cell arc, so the creators over powered Broly accidentally.
Great content. The way I see it, Broly is the strongest pure blooded saiyan and Gohan is the strongest half breed saiyan. Both characters have the same traits, Pure Hearts and power fueled by rage. Would love to see the two of them train together someday and team up.

It just makes so much sense since he already has a form that uses the strength of the Ozaru and it would make sense that the apex of his species would be able to go beyond ss3. It would also just differentiate him form Goku and Vegeta with thier god and ultra instinct transformations, plus the apeman look of ss4 fits S Broly Tarzan/Blanka wild man vibe.

Goku himself said that Broly was so much stronger than him despite thinking he was at the peak of his power. Also goes on to mention he thinks he might be stronger than Lord Beerus. Goku couldn’t even beat him 2v1 with the other being the Prince of all Saiyans Vegeta. Broly never even had a real fight before he landed on earth, wasting away on a barron planet for 40 years. Freiza himself stated his training with Paragus was basically meaningless. Imagine him with the battle experience of Goku and Vegeta. It is not even remotely debatable that Broly has unrivalled potential. He is in a league of his own.
@@walsh9354 Exactly! Freiza is more qualified than any to make that assessment. Also Goku has fought both Beerus and Broly so he is more than justified if he think’s Broly is stronger. I see a ton of people downplaying his comment like “goku was just excited”, “goku didn’t really mean it” etc. Goku only ever says something if he truly believes it, especially when it regards other fighters. Broly literally surpassed Goku and Vegeta in the space of 15 minutes, he is a freak of nature and the embodiment of raw Saiyan Power in it’s purest physical form.

OG Broly was so prolific for the fandom and without even being mentioned in the main timeline. There was a ridiculous amount of forum banners and avatars and gifs and everything, not to mention his presence in games. Easily more than Janimba or Cooler or any other movie only character, and probably tied with Vegeta and Future Trunks.
I remember when I first discovered Broly through his bio on the Beckett DBZ website when I was a kid, and I was just like “I need to see this movie that he’s in right NOW!” He was (and still is) such a cool ass concept. My little kid mind didn’t think we’d see another full-blown Saiyan villain after Turles at the time.
The sheer fact that Broly was able to leap in power from beneath Vegeta Super saiyan god, to trading blows with Gogeta in Super Saiyan Blue in his first fight, really speaks to how terrifying his potential is.
Z Broly always seemed like the most brutal, one sided villian in the whole series. Like there have been many that fought 2-3 people at a time for short bursts, but Broly spent the entire movie fighting 4-5 throughout. Also, it seems that every villian has a "give and take" formula, where they have the upper hand, then the heros do, then the villian does again, and it repeats. Z Broly is an exception where hes in control the entire fight and, totally outclassing the entire zaibatsu. It honestly felt like he only lost because the writers were written into a corner. He even has some of the most brutal techniques. The face drag, the point blank hand explosion Gohan got. I could go on for ages about Z Broly, I just feel like he gets flack for no reason. Yeah, his backstory may be dumb, but so is the majority of DB writing. I don't watch DB for the deep plots, I watch it for the fight scenes and the cool characters. Another another that gets brought up is "hes not canon therefore hes lame" which is ridiculous. And he even gets compared to Super Broly, well of course Super Broly is stronger, hes a newer character. Compare Raditz or Saiyan Saga Vegeta to Dodoria. Dodoria is was stronger but the other two characters are leagues cooler.
7:15 When you consider that Broly's LSS transformation has his skin bursting, his "power is overflowing" line, and Goku's punch caused energy to burst out of Broly's chest and then he exploded, I do think that, even if the scar thing is wrong and a myth, that the intent here is Goku caused Broly to "pop" and explode from his own incredible internal energy, which is actually sort of referenced in the DBS manga where during the ToP arc, somebody says that Kale's transformation will eventually cause her own power to become too much for her and would kill her. Also, while we're talking about myths and misconceptions, I always like to stress/repeat that Broly's does NOT hate Goku because he cried as a baby. It's easy to make that misunderstanding, especially in the dub (and even in the sub) but that's not what's going on: here's an amazing Kanzenshuu thread on this called "Does Broly even remember Goku as a baby?" In it, the thread OP rereboy notes that the film doesn't actually establish Broly remembers Goku from their infanthood, and more critically, that Broly's rage around Goku and the baby scene is meant to be a metaphorical representation of Broly's mental instability and emotional vulnerability because of his own abnormal innate power, which is triggered by Goku's strong will and determination in spite of not having power from birth (Hence baby goku's loud wailing making Broly sob) Now, that this isn't conveyed well and a lot of people miss it still means that the writing could be better, but if you read the thread I think it's pretty convincing, especially once you get past the intial question of if Broly remembers him and into the narrative/thematic analysis of what's actually said with the baby scene and Broly's anger at Goku and what the theming implies.
even if the scar theory isnt legit it was interesting and made a bit more sense. then severely near death beaten up saiyans and namek give ki to goku and he wins by that lucky punch?!! lame. which happens to be that same spot or near it or whatever... out of all the ways to kill this dude. the legendary SSJ!! it was absurd and very lame. at least the second dbz broly made up for that with the triple kamehameha blasting away to the sun fatality. a more worthy death for a legend. as for the crying ya it never really bothered me much until later on thinking about it. but ya then weird when i thought about it and illogical. to hate goku. also brolys rage should have been directed to vegeta considering what happened in that movie...... same for dbs broly. i wonder if he will ever find out the truth in dbs?? about what king vegeta had done and also about freeza later on at some point. tho i dont like the idea of vegeta and broly fighting as enemies. :( as a fanboy of both. lolz. but would be hype tho...
@@23Raind Bingo it was Goku's Ki that triggered Broly's saiyan instincts causing him to break free of the mind control device that is why a lot of Aura was surrounding Broly and Goku during the Staredown but unfortunately the Dub didn't add these details about Saiyan instincts into the movie so it caused a huge misconception especially the way it was executed with Baby Broly crying then few seconds later it showed Broly being somewhat pissed off but in the Japanese Sub its the opposite they mentioned Goku made Broly cry but not at the exact end of the scene so both versions did it differently and this whole Broly being mad at Goku for crying thing shouldn't of even existed since Broly himself never mentions anything about it during his dialogue so the fact people actually thinks that is still ridiculous regardless Broly only genuinely hated Goku in the 2nd movie when he woke up outta the coma remembering his lost to him the entire point of the 1st film was Broly sensing Will Power inside Goku a resilient spirit that wouldn't back down to his superiority despite the fact he's The Legendary Super Saiyan which is suppose to be The pinnacle of Saiyans so a low class warrior like Goku standing up to him is what got under his skin

What made the broly super movie so great is that the movie was a story about broly not just another story about goku. It was well fleshed out and really gave us a character whos personality made you want to root for him

@@2crisp63 the hulk is also bigger then thor and captain america so it seems unfair to put a giant like that when all other condendants are in human-range of height. The hulk's powers includes growing bigger when angry and i dont think that nappa has that in his powerset

One of the things I always wondered is that in Broly second coming, when broly fights videl goten and trunks he looks like he's in ssj form but when gohan arrives he appears to turn into Lssj form and it was always intriguing to me cuz we never seen him do that and the fact that the movie showed us just how powerful he can be without being in Lssj is really cool
He utilized his standard Super Saiyan form in the original movie as well. Both in flashbacks, and while he was still being suppressed by his headdress. The latter occasion resulted in his hair turning a blue and purple hue, rather than yellow. But that was in fact, his normal Super Saiyan state.

Hence, why his hair color in every appearance following his debut has been depicted as yellow, the color most typical of your standard Super Saiyan transformations. Broly: the most controversial character in Dragon Ball. He has 4 Dragon Ball movies. 3 DBZ movies & 1 DBS movie. AND he appeared in Dragon Ball Super Superhero. Broly has been both canon & cloned, both figuratively & literally. Kale, a female Saiyan had a Broly like form called Super Saiyan Berserker & even Future Trunks had a Broly like form called Super Saiyan Rage. And there's Bio Broly, an actual clone of Broly.
Gogeta and Broly punching thru reality is honestly something I always think about. It reminds me of DC’s Infinite Crisis event and when SuperBoy prime punched thru a “paradise” dimension and altered the events that had happened. While also retconing Beastboy.
I've always preferred the second Broly movie. It has better art, animation, and fight choreography. And the direction coupled with the perfectly placed Kikuchi score gives the scenes a beautiful poetic feel.
Since they are scared of training Broly they should ask Jiren for help. I think they are hinting since Vegeta is trying to copy Jiren's techniques confirming that deep down he admires Jiren.
Vegeta called him an incredible warrior at the end of ToP. It’s very rare we ever hear Vegeta say that about someone. Jiren will always be a standout for his out-worldly power and was the first mortal to surpass God of Destruction. People don’t show him enough respect these days.

The fandom between S and Z Broly might merge at some point I feel. Throughout his segments in Superhero, it looks like Broly went from seemingly not being interested in fighting, to absolutely living for it when he watches Goku and Vegeta spar. Once we see Broly learn to control his emotions and power, we'll likely see a far more aggressive S Broly on a slight sadistic level.

Broly still had his father which he respected and you could argue that Broly feared Paragus but then Paragus would not have needed the shock collar and Broly thought highly of his father but also disobeyed Paragus multiple times not to mention Broly wasn't pulling no punches nether, he had murderous intent behind every single blow and literally grew up on a planet of murder. Yeah Goku was able to talk him down before he lost complete control in DBS super hero and yes Broly does have Cheelai and Lemo but the bond isn't as deep as the one he had with his father! I feel that if Broly ascends to SSJ 2 he is either going to be cool carm and collective or just straight up sadistic and murderous. S Broly maybe socialy awkward but is far from simple and immature like that of a little boy.
what made broly so different and strong was 1 he got stronger as he fought, if you watch the movie he kept getting stronger while all sayians get weaker due using there ki, broly was the opposite. 2 broly didn't have some regenerative abilities like cell and buu. if you wanna break it down cell and buu weren't that strong at all they were "killed" many times. broly just smashed and kept getting stronger and he was ruthless, which is why fans loved broly so much! the reason why broly couldn't have limitless power was his body couldn't handle how much power was constantly in his body hints why he would randomly discharge.

Not only is Broly this strong, he was just a typical super saiyan until maybe the end of his fight with Gogeta. (could have been legendary or not because his hair color changed, but I choose to believe he was just super saiyan.) Now imagine Broly unlocking god ki and going super saiyan god and potentially unlocking his own version of the ultra stuff.
I interpret the statement of “Z Broly > Buuhan” as Broly having the potential to surpass Buu, but was defeated before he reached that point. It’s also possible that Broly would’ve died due to his own power consuming him, as his power was increasing to the point of overflowing, implying that his body can’t keep up with his power. Supporting this was the fact that he was inspired by the original super saiyan legend, which died due his power consuming him, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that his fate would’ve been the same if left unchecked.
Yamoshi death Is still in the air cause no one knows if he died or not. He just vanished they say with the God essence. Some have speculated his ki was divided into God essence so bits of him lives in goku and vegeta. This was also done by geekdom himself.

That is plausible considering how the LSSJ transformation seemed to warp his body as unlike Broly (super), he normally is sort of skinny by Saiyan standards
Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan was and is still perfect. The Second Coming of Broly is still fantastic, but not as perfect as the first one. Bio Broly works as a great what if movie as it's implied that it's part of an alternate timeline where Vegeta's Self Destruct worked and Buu was vaporized. When you put into consideration what both did, you can ascertain that Broly fought and took down more during the same time frame than what Cell did during the Cell Games.
Broly is to the saiyan race what Frieza is to his race. I may be remembering this wrong but isn’t frieza a mutant among his own people? If so, Broly is basically the same thing. Kind of how genetics work in the real world with human beings. You can be born with top tier genetics and become the next Mr. Olympia bodybuilder or the next Olympic gold medalist or whatever. The same is true for the saiyans and Broly is basically the Kobe Bryant of the saiyan race. In a much more exaggerated way of course lol.

Vegeta represents good genes with good traing leading to excellence. Broly and Kale represent TOP TIER genetics with very little if not any training(like in the case with frieza) leading to excellence. It’s all themes man 🤯 LOL

The new “greener” one has the better design TBH. The OG looks more royal, but the new one looks more savage (which fits) and the colour of his clothing is more consistent with that animalistic rage green in his aura.
I always use this metric, base raw power and instinct, Broly more so in DBS far outclasses anyone, even Frieza who only needed 4 serious months of training to catch up with Goku in blue form, potential though is debatable since it can be argued as peak power dude fought 4 of the strongest characters in Universe 7 outside the divine beings without breaking a sweat on the first 3 and eventually being beaten by Gogeta, though such enormous raw power could make it harder for it to control, normal problems with having too much power XD Once he learns to control that, which imo would take far longer than those with normal amounts of power, he'd be unstoppable
@@nyghtryder3446 Kale basically looked more powerful in LSS simply because it was just an excessive show of power similar to Frieza achieving Golden form beating Goku, he lost eventually due to the strain since his body is not used to it unless LSS grants unlimited energy, Broly's bound to go that way without training though to be fair, he's practically cheating since the rate he consumes energy to maintain the form is like neglible, most other users would be exhausted fighting one baddie at their level, just proves how vastly genetically superior Broly is

I think super brolys “berserk” form where he harnesses the power of the great ape is actually a tribute to super saiyan 4. You’re right, it isn’t super saiyan 4, but the yellow eyes just like ss4 leads me to believe that it’s a reference and tribute to ss4.
I loved everything you said in your own analysis of Broly. I couldn't put it any better. The only thing I have an issue with is the power scaling in this Super Arc. It is all over the place. I am not sure if Broly needs to have God Ki if his power is unlimited vs Goku and Vegeta needs to have that God ki to be on par with Broly. I know MUI and UE are off the scale due to an untapped potential scale that has no limits. I guess it is also a technique as well. We will see which direction of training is better with the 3 of them growing stronger in different directions.
With the events of DBS Broly being acknowledged as having taken place in the manga, I don't think S-Broly exists solely in the "Movie Timeline", he seems to simply be part of the universe. Now the manga is currently doing other things, the anime is still on hiatus, and a new Dragonball movie has released that also acknowledges him. I think it's safe to say we'll see more of Super Broly in the coming projects.

Hear me out. I think it makes sense to perform the Super Saiyan God ritual on Broly. He was essentially born with the body of a God, but he lacks God ki, which is why he can't control all that power. It's constantly boiling over and one could say he's almost cursed by it. Never being able to enjoy a single moment of peace, as the rage/power is constantly building within him. God ki would complete him, giving him control of that power. His Legendary Super Saiyan form should be able to bond with the God ki permanently, allowing Super Saiyan God to become his new base form. I'd watch that arc.
I always got the impression that Broly peaked pretty close to SS2 strength in the original film but, if Broly had won and continued to rampage afterwards, he could have been the strongest of all time, as he just kept increasing in strength while berserk.
Nah, he's way beyond SSJ2 and even Super Perfect Cell... WAY beyond that... Remember, Goku was basically even with a very slightly supressed Perfect Cell and would have killed him without his "stolen" regen. It took x2 power up of SSJ2 to kill Cell. The same Full Power/Grade 4 SSJ Goku attacked Broly TOGETHER with Piccolo and Broly who was toying with them HEAVILY and trying to enjoy the torture he was about to induce on them proceeded to utterly clow on them and dodge as if he was in UI, hell even Vegeta was able to damage Cell and Trunks if he was able to even hit him could have done the same, possibly even kill him if he got very lucky, but to Broly, they were like toddlers. Goku had to juice up immensely with the power from everyone and pull some BS ass unexplainable attack to do shit against him. And say what you want, but even heavily damaged Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Piccolo and the rest provided him with enough energy to at least be very solidly above SSJ2. Broly was 99,9%, no 999,9% on SSJ3 levelor very close, maybe half way between 2 and 3, so the dude who made those films, when he put Broly above Hirudegarn when he was asked who is the strongest movie villain, wasn't kidding. Ppl clowned on him for years for saying that, but he was actually merely stating facts. Hirudegarn had his smoke BS and was an actual mindless beast who had his power drained with Goku taunting him and then got finished off by the stupidly OP, but stupidly awesome Dragon Fist. Ppl are severely underestimating Broly. That needs to stop ;)
@@TheZefarg 1. It didn't just take a 2x multiplier to beat Cell, Gohan as an SSJ was already considerably stronger than SSJ Goku to the point where Goku's best looked like a warm up to him. Also given the nature of how Gohan turned SSJ2 it is likely he got a Rage Boost attached to that which would further increase his power. 2. The reason why Broly manhandled the Z fighters more than Cell is because Cell has a different motive to him when he fights. He isn't out for blood or torture like Z Broly is, he just wanted to mess around most of the time. Had Cell wanted to he very well could have gone on to do similar things to Z Broly and tank whatever Vegeta or Trunks threw at him with ease. Probably more, Cell would not die to a Goku with energy from a beaten up Piccolo, Trunks, Gohan and Vegeta. He would laugh and tank that punch, or "take" that punch and come back only to laugh that they thought that would work. Perfect Cell and especially Super Perfect Cell. 3. Bro no, Hirudegarn is definitely above Z Broly. Man was destroying guys like Ultimate Gohan and SSJ3 Gotenks, those guys alone would just demolish Broly especially since he got defeated by a family Kahmehameha. here's a little concept I came up with on the idea which explains broly's power and makes broly a much more deeper character. Before the race of Saiyan's ever existed... the name "Saiyan" Was actually the name held by a God. that God was the First God of Power... He had the appearance of a Great Ape... (Hense the Great Ape transformation in the Saiyan Race, it is in essence symbolic of their true form, the form of the person whom all Saiyan's originated from, The First God Of Power. ) His time as the "God Of Power" was slowly dwindling... as in his creation they had made a mistake... no body could contain the power that was held inside of him he was a ticking timebomb... the angels knew of his unfathomable power, but that power was too much for any... even a deity... it could not be sustain in his body... His demise was inevitable... and so after his demise they would replace him with another powerful being... Saiyan knew his time was at an end but he did not wish to die... he wanted to stay the strongest and hold his position as the God Of Power as that is why he was created in the first place, it was his entire purpose of existing... his duty... but it was inevitable... his body could no longer continue... and so... he made a deal with an Angel... for them to help him one day return... reborn in a new body. so that he could reclaim his place as the God Of Power... And so as his time came to an end... The Overwhelming Power could no longer be contained and he dissipated and vanished... like stardust... but all of the fragments of the power that he had held inside him still lingered... and from that lingering energy would each grow into beings of a new Race in the Universe... The Saiyans. Across each individual Saiyan held a very small amount of his Power... but there would one day be a Single Saiyan to hold the true potential of his power. for him to be reborn and his legacy live on... Reincarnated... that Saiyan would be none other than... Broly.... DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN. I mean... you get the idea... it doesn't feel half assed as much as the whole god transformation was originally done in super... it at least connects the Saiyans to the Gods in some way... it explains why the Saiyan's have so much potential, it explains why they have a great ape transformation... it goes deeper into explaining why beerus/whis may of been searching for this Legendary "Super Saiyan God" perhaps what they were truly searching for was Broly, the actual Reincarnation of the God named Saiyan... but they could only sense Goku/Vegeta's power at the time as it was much higher than Broly had yet to show for. it would also Explain why Broly is so powerful in the first place... as he is literally... the actual Reincarnation of Saiyan... no different than what had happened with Kid Buu and Uub. I don't think my concept sounds too far fetched and In my opinion would deeply improve the story/concepts of dragon ball super. It could also open up the oppertunity for Whis to explain all of this to Goku/Vegeta during the midst of the Broly Movie... and they would just be shocked and amazed at who they were actually standing off against... not just no Ordinary Sayian... but the actual Father of all Saiyans...

I imagine the other movie villains may have been stronger at that point, but Broly just keeps getting stronger and stronger and his potential outstrips the others if he's left unattended or gets a zenkai.
DBZ Broly is the best Saiyan ever. It was cool to see a Saiyan that was just levels above the rest. Plus he had the most interesting forms and iconic transformations (his restrained SSJ form and the initial LSSJ transformation and form).
I'm a MASSIVE Gohan fan boy. Gohan should be the most powerful character 😁🤣. BUT.... due to what kind of character Boly is... I'm actually ok with Broly being the Most Powerful character or at least the most powerful Saiyan. But it has to be due to continued training like the other saiyans. It must be earned.
I think what some people miss when they debate the strength of the two Brolys they forget that one of them is from a point in time that's slightly before Buu and one that's post Tournament of Power which skews things.

What? Ultra Instinct isn't stronger than Beerus. We have statements from Toyotaro and Victory Uchida supporting this. Even Super Hero and Toriyama imply this when everyone says Goku couldn't have defeated Cell Max, and Toriyama basically implies that Broly could defeat the mindless Cell Max in the movie.
I always liked to think that after the first movie broly suffered physical and mental injuries and snapped and could only think of killing kakarot. I personally enjoyed the first 2 movies even if the second movie was a little weird but still enjoyable. I just wish they didn't make bio broly that movie wasn't necessary in my opinion. I always figured original broly was probably relative to full power perfet cell but not super perfect cell. If Piccolo, Vegata and Trunks were relative to Cell JRs which Gohan SSJ2 1 shotted, I'd argue the episode "Cells mighty breakdown" wouldnt have changed much if you replaced it with broly. Although in the 2nd movie it is more of a guess, Gohan doesnt go ssj2 in that one IRRC. But if he never stopped training then both are probably relative to super perfect cell/teen gohan ssj2, maybe a bit above. NIce video bro
That's a pretty good way to look at it and I used to look at it like that aswell, until I took into consideration that broly literally destroyed a galaxy in the beginning of the movie (possibly an entire South quadrant, which would consists of who knows how many galaxies). Broly has his appeal because of his raw might, and how savage he is. His old one liners were classics, and I think we always wanted to see an evil sayin. I didn't watch this until the mid 00's but I def understand the appeal. He was one of my favorite characters as well because of that. I personally would love to see one more garlic Jr movie. Have it where his father stole a relic from the lookout but was trapped in the dead zone before he could use it and perhaps even died inside due to the demons before he could use it. Garlic where he's immortal has survived and killed so many demons he has grown insanely powerful but finds the relic by chance and uses it to escape. The relic gives him godlike traits and he can bestow power to new disciples. This time he opens the portal to the dead zone but it works in reverse. Everything inside is pouring out. Have the weaker fighters protect earth from the demon hordes of the dead zone while the stronger fighters tackle garlic Jr. But plot twist, Bulma or whoever finds the DragonBall and removes garlic's immortality. He's now fighting for his life. But he's still overpowering goku and vegetables. Last minute goku tells everyone he'll be back and instant transmissions away. Right as garlic goes to deliver the death blow to vegeta a hand catches his fist.......ITS BROLY! Now broly joins in and they work together over power garlic and end him forever.

He has been able to find transformations that outpaced his clan’s ability with only a few months of training, he even found transformations like Golden in a few months of training as well.

While a 500x base may have applied to his original incarnation, it's nowhere near accurate to his most recent appearance. Rather than a standard multiplier, it stands to reason that his power rises exponentially following the transformation into his Legendary state. That's the only explanation as to how he'd be able to stand toe to toe with God forms, much less fusion. I estimate that his transformation is closer to a "base x base" multiplier, much like Metamoran/ Potara fusion, rather than a standard 50x-500x increase typical of a standard Super Saiyan transformation.

I loved the American soundtrack in the first Z Broly movie and it was cool to see him get rebooted into the mainstream series.

Broly = Strength & Grappling
Vegeta = Natural Talent & Dedication
Goku = Strategy & Flexibility
I like that

Goku was always a low class warrior that worked to greatness, vegeta was born to it as a super elite. Their first fight was all about the dynamic, Goku even says it, "Even a low class warrior can surpass an elite, with enough hard work"
And Goku was always shown to be a very good strategist, although a case can be made that Goku is just as dedicated as Vegeta

Vegeta was always fighting and training to be number 1, Goku on the other hand was doing it to improve himself. If you watch the speech Vegeta gave when discussing Goku during the Buu fight, Vegeta never says Goku is better than him because of his natural talent, Vegeta says Goku is always able to push himself past his limits because of his joy of fighting and improving himself.
Goku has always been talented yeah, but Vegeta WAS the prodigy that Goku had to surpass and did so by using various abilities and techniques that he learned through hard work. Vegeta was shocked he even took damage because Vegeta was the super elite, not Goku. Vegeta was born into greatness, Goku was not.
Even after that fight on Earth, Goku was training to surpass himself while Vegeta was enjoying his time killing members of Friezas soldiers trying to prove himself to be superior.
Again, even during that Buu sage speech about Goku being better, Vegeta states he could never figure out what set them apart, or why Goku kept improving faster than Vegeta. At first he assumed it was because of his friends and family, but he even mentions how even when he got his family, the gap still grew and it was there that Vegeta concluded he was better because of Gokus love for simply improving himself for improvements sake.
Not once did Vegeta say it was because Goku was naturally more talented than him.
What for me sets Broly apart from other villains and DB cast, is his fighting style.
Brutal, merciless, zero fucks given about his own survival. He doesn't care what you throw at him, just plows right through it. Unless your attack can straight up kill him, he will just shrug it off. There is no lightning fast exchange of blows, just this tidalwave of muscle and momentum piledriving you into the ground. And that's just simply badass.
I really like the new Broly but to be honest I think I prefer the OG Broly. I loved the mythology and legend behind it all and i just think they've humanised him for canon. Also I'm not overly keen how he's gone from not being able to even compete with Goku in base to whooping him in SSB. i think it's just a bit too much of a jump personally. but i do enjoy his new story though. hopefully he'll be a more regular feature in the manga post Granolah arc with some good character development.

Broly is an anomaly and essentially ‘the chosen one’ of his race. The Legendary Super Saiyan who appears once every 1000 years. Goku himself said that Broly was so much stronger than him despite thinking he was at the peak of his power. Also goes on to mention he thinks he might be stronger than Lord Beerus. Goku couldn’t even beat him 2v1 with the other being the Prince of all Saiyans Vegeta. Broly never even had a real fight before he landed on earth, wasting away on a barron planet for 40 years. Freiza himself stated his training with Paragus was basically meaningless. Imagine him with the battle experience of Goku and Vegeta. It is not even remotely debatable that Broly has unrivalled potential. He is in a league of his own.

OG Broly was so prolific for the fandom and without even being mentioned in the main timeline. There was a ridiculous amount of forum banners and avatars and gifs and everything, not to mention his presence in games. Easily more than Janimba or Cooler or any other movie only character, and probably tied with Vegeta and Future Trunks.
I remember when I first discovered Broly through his bio on the Beckett DBZ website when I was a kid, and I was just like “I need to see this movie that he’s in right NOW!” He was (and still is) such a cool ass concept. My little kid mind didn’t think we’d see another full-blown Saiyan villain after Turles at the time.
The sheer fact that Broly was able to leap in power from beneath Vegeta Super saiyan god, to trading blows with Gogeta in Super Saiyan Blue in his first fight, really speaks to how terrifying his potential is.
Z Broly always seemed like the most brutal, one sided villian in the whole series. Like there have been many that fought 2-3 people at a time for short bursts, but Broly spent the entire movie fighting 4-5 throughout.
Also, it seems that every villian has a "give and take" formula, where they have the upper hand, then the heros do, then the villian does again, and it repeats. Z Broly is an exception where hes in control the entire fight and, totally outclassing the entire zaibatsu. It honestly felt like he only lost because the writers were written into a corner.
He even has some of the most brutal techniques. The face drag, the point blank hand explosion Gohan got.
I could go on for ages about Z Broly, I just feel like he gets flack for no reason. Yeah, his backstory may be dumb, but so is the majority of DB writing. I don't watch DB for the deep plots, I watch it for the fight scenes and the cool characters. Another another that gets brought up is "hes not canon therefore hes lame" which is ridiculous. And he even gets compared to Super Broly, well of course Super Broly is stronger, hes a newer character. Compare Raditz or Saiyan Saga Vegeta to Dodoria. Dodoria is was stronger but the other two characters are leagues cooler.
7:15 When you consider that Broly's LSS transformation has his skin bursting, his "power is overflowing" line, and Goku's punch caused energy to burst out of Broly's chest and then he exploded, I do think that, even if the scar thing is wrong and a myth, that the intent here is Goku caused Broly to "pop" and explode from his own incredible internal energy, which is actually sort of referenced in the DBS manga where during the ToP arc, somebody says that Kale's transformation will eventually cause her own power to become too much for her and would kill her. Also, while we're talking about myths and misconceptions, I always like to stress/repeat that Broly's does NOT hate Goku because he cried as a baby. It's easy to make that misunderstanding, especially in the dub (and even in the sub) but that's not what's going on:
here's an amazing Kanzenshuu thread on this called "Does Broly even remember Goku as a baby?" In it, the thread OP rereboy notes that the film doesn't actually establish Broly remembers Goku from their infanthood, and more critically, that Broly's rage around Goku and the baby scene is meant to be a metaphorical representation of Broly's mental instability and emotional vulnerability because of his own abnormal innate power, which is triggered by Goku's strong will and determination in spite of not having power from birth (Hence baby goku's loud wailing making Broly sob)
Now, that this isn't conveyed well and a lot of people miss it still means that the writing could be better, but if you read the thread I think it's pretty convincing, especially once you get past the intial question of if Broly remembers him and into the narrative/thematic analysis of what's actually said with the baby scene and Broly's anger at Goku and what the theming implies.
even if the scar theory isnt legit it was interesting and made a bit more sense. then severely near death beaten up saiyans and namek give ki to goku and he wins by that lucky punch?!! lame. which happens to be that same spot or near it or whatever... out of all the ways to kill this dude. the legendary SSJ!! it was absurd and very lame. at least the second dbz broly made up for that with the triple kamehameha blasting away to the sun fatality. a more worthy death for a legend.

@@23Raind Bingo it was Goku's Ki that triggered Broly's saiyan instincts causing him to break free of the mind control device that is why a lot of Aura was surrounding Broly and Goku during the Staredown but unfortunately the Dub didn't add these details about Saiyan instincts into the movie so it caused a huge misconception especially the way it was executed with Baby Broly crying then few seconds later it showed Broly being somewhat pissed off but in the Japanese Sub its the opposite they mentioned Goku made Broly cry but not at the exact end of the scene so both versions did it differently and this whole Broly being mad at Goku for crying thing shouldn't of even existed since Broly himself never mentions anything about it during his dialogue so the fact people actually thinks that is still ridiculous regardless Broly only genuinely hated Goku in the 2nd movie when he woke up outta the coma remembering his lost to him the entire point of the 1st film was Broly sensing Will Power inside Goku a resilient spirit that wouldn't back down to his superiority despite the fact he's The Legendary Super Saiyan which is suppose to be The pinnacle of Saiyans so a low class warrior like Goku standing up to him is what got under his skin

One of the things I always wondered is that in Broly second coming, when broly fights videl goten and trunks he looks like he's in ssj form but when gohan arrives he appears to turn into Lssj form and it was always intriguing to me cuz we never seen him do that and the fact that the movie showed us just how powerful he can be without being in Lssj is really cool
He utilized his standard Super Saiyan form in the original movie as well. Both in flashbacks, and while he was still being suppressed by his headdress. The latter occasion resulted in his hair turning a blue and purple hue, rather than yellow. But that was in fact, his normal Super Saiyan state.

Gogeta and Broly punching thru reality is honestly something I always think about. It reminds me of DC’s Infinite Crisis event and when SuperBoy prime punched thru a “paradise” dimension and altered the events that had happened. While also retconing Beastboy.
I've always preferred the second Broly movie. It has better art, animation, and fight choreography. And the direction coupled with the perfectly placed Kikuchi score gives the scenes a beautiful poetic feel.
Since they are scared of training Broly they should ask Jiren for help. I think they are hinting since Vegeta is trying to copy Jiren's techniques confirming that deep down he admires Jiren.
Vegeta called him an incredible warrior at the end of ToP. It’s very rare we ever hear Vegeta say that about someone. Jiren will always be a standout for his out-worldly power and was the first mortal to surpass God of Destruction. People don’t show him enough respect these days.

The fandom between S and Z Broly might merge at some point I feel. Throughout his segments in Superhero, it looks like Broly went from seemingly not being interested in fighting, to absolutely living for it when he watches Goku and Vegeta spar. Once we see Broly learn to control his emotions and power, we'll likely see a far more aggressive S Broly on a slight sadistic level.

what made broly so different and strong was 1 he got stronger as he fought, if you watch the movie he kept getting stronger while all sayians get weaker due using there ki, broly was the opposite. 2 broly didn't have some regenerative abilities like cell and buu. if you wanna break it down cell and buu weren't that strong at all they were "killed" many times. broly just smashed and kept getting stronger and he was ruthless, which is why fans loved broly so much! the reason why broly couldn't have limitless power was his body couldn't handle how much power was constantly in his body hints why he would randomly discharge.
We can all agree that broly is an awesome character and both versions of the character are beast!

Not only is Broly this strong, he was just a typical super saiyan until maybe the end of his fight with Gogeta. (could have been legendary or not because his hair color changed, but I choose to believe he was just super saiyan.) Now imagine Broly unlocking god ki and going super saiyan god and potentially unlocking his own version of the ultra stuff.

I interpret the statement of “Z Broly > Buuhan” as Broly having the potential to surpass Buu, but was defeated before he reached that point. It’s also possible that Broly would’ve died due to his own power consuming him, as his power was increasing to the point of overflowing, implying that his body can’t keep up with his power. Supporting this was the fact that he was inspired by the original super saiyan legend, which died due his power consuming him, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that his fate would’ve been the same if left unchecked.
That also got retcon the first super saiyan died to other saiyans
Yamoshi death Is still in the air cause no one knows if he died or not. He just vanished they say with the God essence. Some have speculated his ki was divided into God essence so bits of him lives in goku and vegeta. This was also done by geekdom himself.

That is plausible considering how the LSSJ transformation seemed to warp his body as unlike Broly (super), he normally is sort of skinny by Saiyan standards
DBZ Broly is weaker than Perfect Cell
Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan was and is still perfect. The Second Coming of Broly is still fantastic, but not as perfect as the first one. Bio Broly works as a great what if movie as it's implied that it's part of an alternate timeline where Vegeta's Self Destruct worked and Buu was vaporized.
When you put into consideration what both did, you can ascertain that Broly fought and took down more during the same time frame than what Cell did during the Cell Games.

Broly is to the saiyan race what Frieza is to his race. I may be remembering this wrong but isn’t frieza a mutant among his own people? If so, Broly is basically the same thing. Kind of how genetics work in the real world with human beings. You can be born with top tier genetics and become the next Mr. Olympia bodybuilder or the next Olympic gold medalist or whatever. The same is true for the saiyans and Broly is basically the Kobe Bryant of the saiyan race. In a much more exaggerated way of course lol.

His Saiyan power is immeasurably magnified that his Super Saiyan form is estimated at 500x his base, compared to 50x base which genetically applies to every other super saiyan including Gohan. His Legendary form is estimated to be limitless. He is an anomaly and essentially the the embodiment of Saiyan power in its purest form. The best part is the series looks like it’s going in the direction where we may see more of these two phenoms.

The new “greener” one has the better design TBH. The OG looks more royal, but the new one looks more savage (which fits) and the colour of his clothing is more consistent with that animalistic rage green in his aura.

I always use this metric, base raw power and instinct, Broly more so in DBS far outclasses anyone, even Frieza who only needed 4 serious months of training to catch up with Goku in blue form, potential though is debatable since it can be argued as peak power
dude fought 4 of the strongest characters in Universe 7 outside the divine beings without breaking a sweat on the first 3 and eventually being beaten by Gogeta, though such enormous raw power could make it harder for it to control, normal problems with having too much power XD

I think super brolys “berserk” form where he harnesses the power of the great ape is actually a tribute to super saiyan 4. You’re right, it isn’t super saiyan 4, but the yellow eyes just like ss4 leads me to believe that it’s a reference and tribute to ss4.

I loved everything you said in your own analysis of Broly. I couldn't put it any better. The only thing I have an issue with is the power scaling in this Super Arc. It is all over the place. I am not sure if Broly needs to have God Ki if his power is unlimited vs Goku and Vegeta needs to have that God ki to be on par with Broly. I know MUI and UE are off the scale due to an untapped potential scale that has no limits. I guess it is also a technique as well. We will see which direction of training is better with the 3 of them growing stronger in different directions.
With the events of DBS Broly being acknowledged as having taken place in the manga, I don't think S-Broly exists solely in the "Movie Timeline", he seems to simply be part of the universe.
Now the manga is currently doing other things, the anime is still on hiatus, and a new Dragonball movie has released that also acknowledges him. I think it's safe to say we'll see more of Super Broly in the coming projects.

Hear me out. I think it makes sense to perform the Super Saiyan God ritual on Broly. He was essentially born with the body of a God, but he lacks God ki, which is why he can't control all that power. It's constantly boiling over and one could say he's almost cursed by it. Never being able to enjoy a single moment of peace, as the rage/power is constantly building within him. God ki would complete him, giving him control of that power. His Legendary Super Saiyan form should be able to bond with the God ki permanently, allowing Super Saiyan God to become his new base form. I'd watch that arc.

I always got the impression that Broly peaked pretty close to SS2 strength in the original film but, if Broly had won and continued to rampage afterwards, he could have been the strongest of all time, as he just kept increasing in strength while berserk.
Nah, he's way beyond SSJ2 and even Super Perfect Cell... WAY beyond that...
Remember, Goku was basically even with a very slightly supressed Perfect Cell and would have killed him without his "stolen" regen. It took x2 power up of SSJ2 to kill Cell. The same Full Power/Grade 4 SSJ Goku attacked Broly TOGETHER with Piccolo and Broly who was toying with them HEAVILY and trying to enjoy the torture he was about to induce on them proceeded to utterly clow on them and dodge as if he was in UI, hell even Vegeta was able to damage Cell and Trunks if he was able to even hit him could have done the same, possibly even kill him if he got very lucky, but to Broly, they were like toddlers. Goku had to juice up immensely with the power from everyone and pull some BS ass unexplainable attack to do shit against him. And say what you want, but even heavily damaged Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Piccolo and the rest provided him with enough energy to at least be very solidly above SSJ2.
Broly was 99,9%, no 999,9% on SSJ3 levelor very close, maybe half way between 2 and 3, so the dude who made those films, when he put Broly above Hirudegarn when he was asked who is the strongest movie villain, wasn't kidding. Ppl clowned on him for years for saying that, but he was actually merely stating facts. Hirudegarn had his smoke BS and was an actual mindless beast who had his power drained with Goku taunting him and then got finished off by the stupidly OP, but stupidly awesome Dragon Fist.
Ppl are severely underestimating Broly. That needs to stop ;)

1. It didn't just take a 2x multiplier to beat Cell, Gohan as an SSJ was already considerably stronger than SSJ Goku to the point where Goku's best looked like a warm up to him. Also given the nature of how Gohan turned SSJ2 it is likely he got a Rage Boost attached to that which would further increase his power.
2. The reason why Broly manhandled the Z fighters more than Cell is because Cell has a different motive to him when he fights. He isn't out for blood or torture like Z Broly is, he just wanted to mess around most of the time. Had Cell wanted to he very well could have gone on to do similar things to Z Broly and tank whatever Vegeta or Trunks threw at him with ease. Probably more, Cell would not die to a Goku with energy from a beaten up Piccolo, Trunks, Gohan and Vegeta. He would laugh and tank that punch, or "take" that punch and come back only to laugh that they thought that would work. Perfect Cell and especially Super Perfect Cell.
3. Bro no, Hirudegarn is definitely above Z Broly. Man was destroying guys like Ultimate Gohan and SSJ3 Gotenks, those guys alone would just demolish Broly especially since he got defeated by a family Kahmehameha. Ultimate Gohan and Gotenks alone would be to much for Broly.

To beat SS1 Goku Vegeta Gohan and Trunks as well as fused piccolo at the same time he is well beyond SS2 but you make a good point.

I'd love to see one of these about Future Trunks, but he spends the vast majority of his screen time as a massive underdog, so I don't know if he qualifies. Then again, SSRage Trunks and Sword of Hope Trunks are strong as hell.
here's a little concept I came up with on the idea which explains broly's power and makes broly a much more deeper character.
Before the race of Saiyan's ever existed... the name "Saiyan" Was actually the name held by a God. that God was the First God of Power... He had the appearance of a Great Ape... (Hense the Great Ape transformation in the Saiyan Race, it is in essence symbolic of their true form, the form of the person whom all Saiyan's originated from, The First God Of Power. )
His time as the "God Of Power" was slowly dwindling... as in his creation they had made a mistake... no body could contain the power that was held inside of him he was a ticking timebomb... the angels knew of his unfathomable power, but that power was too much for any... even a deity... it could not be sustain in his body...
His demise was inevitable... and so after his demise they would replace him with another powerful being... Saiyan knew his time was at an end but he did not wish to die... he wanted to stay the strongest and hold his position as the God Of Power as that is why he was created in the first place, it was his entire purpose of existing... his duty... but it was inevitable... his body could no longer continue... and so... he made a deal with an Angel... for them to help him one day return... reborn in a new body. so that he could reclaim his place as the God Of Power...
And so as his time came to an end... The Overwhelming Power could no longer be contained and he dissipated and vanished... like stardust... but all of the fragments of the power that he had held inside him still lingered... and from that lingering energy would each grow into beings of a new Race in the Universe... The Saiyans. Across each individual Saiyan held a very small amount of his Power... but there would one day be a Single Saiyan to hold the true potential of his power. for him to be reborn and his legacy live on... Reincarnated... that Saiyan would be none other than... Broly.... DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUN.
I mean... you get the idea... it doesn't feel half assed as much as the whole god transformation was originally done in super... it at least connects the Saiyans to the Gods in some way... it explains why the Saiyan's have so much potential, it explains why they have a great ape transformation... it goes deeper into explaining why beerus/whis may of been searching for this Legendary "Super Saiyan God" perhaps what they were truly searching for was Broly, the actual Reincarnation of the God named Saiyan... but they could only sense Goku/Vegeta's power at the time as it was much higher than Broly had yet to show for. it would also Explain why Broly is so powerful in the first place... as he is literally... the actual Reincarnation of Saiyan... no different than what had happened with Kid Buu and Uub. I don't think my concept sounds too far fetched and In my opinion would deeply improve the story/concepts of dragon ball super.
It could also open up the oppertunity for Whis to explain all of this to Goku/Vegeta during the midst of the Broly Movie... and they would just be shocked and amazed at who they were actually standing off against... not just no Ordinary Sayian... but the actual Father of all Saiyans...

I imagine the other movie villains may have been stronger at that point, but Broly just keeps getting stronger and stronger and his potential outstrips the others if he's left unattended or gets a zenkai.
DBZ Broly is the best Saiyan ever. It was cool to see a Saiyan that was just levels above the rest. Plus he had the most interesting forms and iconic transformations (his restrained SSJ form and the initial LSSJ transformation and form).

I think what some people miss when they debate the strength of the two Brolys they forget that one of them is from a point in time that's slightly before Buu and one that's post Tournament of Power which skews things.

What? Ultra Instinct isn't stronger than Beerus. We have statements from Toyotaro and Victory Uchida supporting this. Even Super Hero and Toriyama imply this when everyone says Goku couldn't have defeated Cell Max, and Toriyama basically implies that Broly could defeat the mindless Cell Max in the movie.

I always liked to think that after the first movie broly suffered physical and mental injuries and snapped and could only think of killing kakarot. I personally enjoyed the first 2 movies even if the second movie was a little weird but still enjoyable. I just wish they didn't make bio broly that movie wasn't necessary in my opinion. I always figured original broly was probably relative to full power perfet cell but not super perfect cell. If Piccolo, Vegata and Trunks were relative to Cell JRs which Gohan SSJ2 1 shotted, I'd argue the episode "Cells mighty breakdown" wouldnt have changed much if you replaced it with broly. Although in the 2nd movie it is more of a guess, Gohan doesnt go ssj2 in that one IRRC. But if he never stopped training then both are probably relative to super perfect cell/teen gohan ssj2, maybe a bit above. NIce video bro

That's a pretty good way to look at it and I used to look at it like that aswell, until I took into consideration that broly literally destroyed a galaxy in the beginning of the movie (possibly an entire South quadrant, which would consists of who knows how many galaxies). Broly has his appeal because of his raw might, and how savage he is. His old one liners were classics, and I think we always wanted to see an evil sayin. I didn't watch this until the mid 00's but I def understand the appeal. He was one of my favorite characters as well because of that. The new Broly also has the same appeal, and its good to see him be cannon and gohan back on top if he is on top. Regardless the good thing is that if you have a favorite Dragon Ball character they'll all get their time to shine unless you like Goten

I personally would love to see one more garlic Jr movie. Have it where his father stole a relic from the lookout but was trapped in the dead zone before he could use it and perhaps even died inside due to the demons before he could use it. Garlic where he's immortal has survived and killed so many demons he has grown insanely powerful but finds the relic by chance and uses it to escape. The relic gives him godlike traits and he can bestow power to new disciples. This time he opens the portal to the dead zone but it works in reverse. Everything inside is pouring out. Have the weaker fighters protect earth from the demon hordes of the dead zone while the stronger fighters tackle garlic Jr. But plot twist, Bulma or whoever finds the DragonBall and removes garlic's immortality. He's now fighting for his life. But he's still overpowering goku and vegetables. Last minute goku tells everyone he'll be back and instant transmissions away. Right as garlic goes to deliver the death blow to vegeta a hand catches his fist.......ITS BROLY! Now broly joins in and they work together over power garlic and end him forever.
He's basically just the DB equivalent of the Hulk (modern Broly even more so)

I agree with you about broly being a mutant but I also have my own ideas about why broly is so powerful or his inner strength or potential that since all the saying are base on Sun wukong like how Goku is based on the Buddha version of Sun wukong who come and Vegeta is based on the king version of Sun wukong I think broly is based on the Sun wukong that is unrestrained by karma and is the eternal fighting Buddha that's where I think he gets his power from because at broly center you know he is a kind spirit he is also a great warrior that fight on instinct alone 🙈🙉🙊🐉🙂

He has been able to find transformations that outpaced his clan’s ability with only a few months of training, he even found transformations like Golden in a few months of training as well.
