It might seem straightforward once you get the hang of it, but there are often many unknowns and concerns, especially for beginners. As a Japanese MR-S owner, I had a hard time finding domestic videos and detailed photos, so I really appreciate this. Thanks a lot!
VERY helpful, thank you. Based on your caution about the plastic spacers, I wrapped cable ties around them before unscrewing the bolts. Probably overkill, but I didn't lose them!
The intake plenum is supported by two brackets bolted to the rear cylinder head. You must reach around to unfasten those if you want the plenum to come off.
To get to that fuel relay C/OPN Relay. I think you have either very thin arms and fingers, or you will have to pull the battery, and then reinstall the battery.
After the car sits for a little while (couple of hours does it) there is no more fuel pressure, you can pull the fuel line without any worry, and you don't have to monkey with anything to release fuel pressure, it just releases itself.
If you are in a hurry just put a couple of rags around the fitting when you release it, you will capture all the fuel, it is just a tiny amount, remember, fuel is incompressible, any release is just due to stretch in the rubber lines.
Thank you Frank - am i safe to presume in the end you need to pull the intake manifold toward where the (removed) battery would be located ? End goal is There is a radiator hose leading from the oil filter base and it disappears up under the intake manifold. I cannot think of any other way to reach it
@@Merryfrankster_ ah so there are three hoses. The thermostat hose has been replaced. There are also two small hoses coming off the base of the oil filter. One is fully replaceable but the other disappears up near the intake manifold and is not possible to reach from underneath. Also pulled the alternator but was unable to get to from that side. So an attempt at a manifold removal is my last resort

Thank you for watching and for commenting.
Frank, thank you. The advice you gave in the video and seeing you work through the steps made the injector replacement on my own car a piece of cake.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Injector seals. Smh. Never even crossed my mind that could be where my vacuum leak is. Thanks brother.

Thanks for the video Merry, really helpful!

Good job! They are hell to try and fish out if they drop.
Very informative! 10/10 thank you Frank!
Thanks for watching.
No single video on fuel injector removal on 2gr fe engine. Would have to try to use this to do same on 2gr
For the 2GR you must remove the intake plenum in order to remove the injectors from the rear bank.

Yea tanks for the info. Really wished I can see a video
@@wilsonemeka1833 I'll see if I can whip something up for you.
Would really appreciate thanks in advance

Or you are one foot tall and you can get under the car and put a ladder against the firewall.

This nonsense that gets passed down about running the engine to drain the fuel is just that, nonsense.
Is it better 450cc injectors when OEM injectors for 1ZZ engine?
For turbo with standalone ECU. Not for stock engine, stock ECU.
Frank, do you think it is possible to remove the intake manifold after this procedure?
Yes, it can be done, you have to get a lot of stuff out of the way, and it helps to take the engine off the mounts and move it to make space.

@@andrewsparey697 I think you are talking about the thermostat housing. You can reach it from under the car. Take the starter out first.

@@andrewsparey697 I see. It sounds like you have a factory oil cooler. I have never seen one of these on a US car
Frank why do you have 450 injectors? MAF mod?
This car has a Rotrex centrifugal supercharger and this requires more fuel than the stock 260cc/min injectors can provide.
@@Merryfrankster_ We can rent that one? hell yeah!

Hey man I'm having a problem with my injectors firing the power to the injectors thumbs down
Sorry that you're having a problem. Check the IG2 fuse. If this fuse is blown the injectors will not fire.
I checked the fuse already anything else you can think of
