I love your content! I started DF season 1 the first 10-11 weeks as Brewmaster Monk. I’m always behind, it took me 2 weeks to level because of work schedule, I found only being able to play 2-3 days a week for short periods of time difficult in maintaining proficiency with playing Brew and it’s many buttons in mid 17-19 keys. I felt like I was spinning plates and they were all falling in the floor. I picked up VDH for the first time these past 4-5 weeks and I really love it’s gameplay, it’s relative ease of play as opposed to Brew, the aesthetic, it’s decent damage, and it’s mobility. Im having a blast learning, trying to improve and maximize damage. What I don’t enjoy is the feeling that I have to get carpal tunnel to maintain good frailty stacks 4-6 in order to maximize mileage out of fiery brand/soul carver/the hunt/fel dev. Having to move in and out of range for various reasons in M+ makes maintaining those stacks challenging. I dislike that the “best build” being the DIF build is more difficult to play and only reasonably useful in a few dungeons and season 2 (4) set features fiery brand but it’s only to one target and as far as I know doesn’t spread with the talents in DIF build. I also don’t like that on initial pulls you can feel “weak” if you don’t open properly. Which is an easy thing to learn. I also dislike that basically the entire right side of the talent tree is not commonly used for anything unless you’re playing around with DIF build. No one pushing 20+ keys is essentially pushing with that build which, with the amount of talents left effectively unused, makes diversity in build a “meh”. I also don’t like that it’s been shown in the early stages of VDH development, that soul monger effectively steals healing already available that would have been tied up in leech and moves it to soul monger, and that soul monger doesn’t do any additional healing or benefit with it. ONLY in higher 26+ keys might soul monger be useful, however, THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY picks soul monger over soul carver even though soul carver gives you more souls which is more spirit bombs which is more healing. The only reason this is a choice is because top streamers have stated “soul carver feels bad” and thus so pick soul monger instead. Feelycraft over theorycraft. I’m a proponent for play what you like, it’s your game, but when an ability is better but “feels bad”, is that good game play. The same can also be said for Elysian decree vs FTtF. Fodder is hands down better in healing and damage, but many say, “fodder feels bad”. I can only hope and pray VDH gets a gloss over and correction/update soon. Maybe not the ret treatment but maybe half the attention they got. Needless to say, I love the class and spec and enjoy pushing as high as I can with my limited play time. I’m currently just shy of 2400 looking to step into 20s soon, atm I’m in the 18-19 range. I’d also like to add that in all general applications, iLVL>haste>crit>verse>mastery in that order. Crit is more parry and more damage which is more healing from leech. You can also say crit=verse and be fine. Keep in mind one of the top M+ rated VDHs ran all 26s with 2-3% verse. So verse is good but not great.
I watched a video of a vdh doin 80k hps in a dungeon back in shadowlands. I leveled a dh and it feels like consuming souls doesn't do any healing unlike monks healing spheres which is literally like a lay on hands with +3 spheres. I play every other tank and dh feels the worst by far to me. Paladins wog, guardian regrowth proc and frenzy regen, warriors ignore pain and indomitable and impending victory, dk death strikes They all feel like they move my hp bar unlike demon hunter healing
I really enjoy playing my VDH but ive had to stop playing it. Its just too squishy compared to the other tanks and doesn’t feel like its worth my time right now.
Ty for this build I've been using the builds that are on the guides and warcraft logs and have been getting 1 shot alot on heroic hopefully this helps but like zero good vengeance dh guides on TH-cam.

Does manually canceling Demon Spikes count as "ends" in terms of proccing Calcified Spikes?
