Just got a mws coming from aeg don’t really touch my aeg myself leave that to my tech. Found this video really helpful it looks Miles easier to take apart compared to my aeg m4s
I'd recommend basically familiarizing yourself with AEG internals (maybe just pull apart an old gun or something) so you have an idea how they work and what parts go where. It's always a good idea to know. Otherwise, you're exactly right that AEGs are just too much to bother with sometimes haha
For me, cleaning my GBBs is kinda the fun of it! we run GBBs for the realism part, nothing more tbh. And cleaning your gun is normal and nessecary, for real and for Airsoft. Nice video as always!
For cleaning I like to use an old toothbrush to scrub the corners and crevices etc, works really well but I still do have to wipe things afterwards obviously
Hey, just used a different kind of lube for the trigger box (graphite spray lube): on a stock one with trigger reset issue, it made my reset and trigger pull A LOT smoother, solving the problem I was having. If you haven't tried it yet, maybe it can solve your g&p trigger reset issue too (just a guess, don't know for sure).
I’m just transitioning to gbb from aeg with a mws and your channel has been superb. I was never very hands on disassembling rifles and this was a very daunting thought of regularly getting more hands on with a gbb. I was wondering do you have a NPAS installation guide? TH-cam seems to be lacking in them
Hi my guy! Great video! This will defiantly help me as I'm looking into getting a TM MWS M4! I am just wondering if you know of other places that sell the magazines for the MWS, or if there are other brands that are compatable? thanks!
There's a bunch out there, the guns Modify probably work the best, T8 window arguably look the coolest and g&p have extended p mags. There's plenty of aftermarket support mag wise and you can always upgrade standard mags to make them a bit more poppy!
Great content, decent presentation, excellent knowledge. If I might nitpick: most of your videos are _very_ long. I realize the YT algo prefers such formats, but most audiences don't. In this case, for example, and I concede your experience is greater than mine with the TM MWS (why else would I be watching?), you are spending 30+ mins talking about a topic that I feel could be presented in about 1/3 of the time. "Ah, but I can't - there's just too much to cover!". Agreed, you combined at least 3 or 4 videos into one. Split them into 'intro/rationale/motivation', 'consensus vs personal preferences', 'basic cleaning', 'deep cleaning', 'scheduled maintenance', 'follow-up'. Also, you don't include timestamps!
Reassuring to see that you don't go overboard with various greases and gun oils as others do. BBs don't cause carbon fouling, so toilet paper and silicon is just fine
tbh silicone oil was made for plastic on plastic work, mws isnt about that, so it needs some grease, silicon oil is not a gold standard for metal on metal work
@@knight_tv this is true, a couple of drops of oil on the working parts is welcome. No need to get a full on rifle cleaning kit from Brownells though, as some people do!
Good video, thanks. I always use a product called Napier clean rather than loo roll, far less fibres and dust. Also a small toothbrush is really useful for the awkward areas. I see you cocked the rifle before removing the pins, is that essential.
You can remove the pins without cocking the gun I think but that's just the way I've always done it. I agree loo roll isn't the best but it's something everyone has to hand, Ill have a look for Napier clean thanks for the tip 😊 So I've used toothbrushes for cleaning in the past but I tend to find they just redistribute the dirt into different areas, granted some easier to wipe away but some arent. That's why I like making the little triangles as you can get into some really tight spots and see all the dirt coming out, I highly recommend it!
Hi ollie! great video and well explained :) im looking to buy tokyo marui mws also and many of them come with the bulky front sight and im pretty sure i wanna take it off so how do i do that and what do i need to replace after taking it off ? also im not planning putting a longer hanguard over it etc. just removal and make it right.
thanks, so you'll just need to get a gas block basically, that will hold the front end onto the gun. to remove the old one there are 2 pins AND a grub screw underneath, remove all 3 and it'll come off. assuming you also take off the flash hider, which will also have a grub screw.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft Loving the gun so far!! went testing to my friends place and he gave me some 0,36g bbs and oh my god heavy bbs works so good with it! im pretty sure i will buy 0,30g or 0,32g so i can have bit more play with the hop. i was playing with 0,25g and it was alright but omg the difference when i tried heavyer bbs it was like an laser beam and didnt even feel slow at all also i was using greengas and temp was around +5-8 celcius. also i was wondering what barrel and hop rubber you think i should get ? My play style is always been little bit behind not in the front line but i visit the frontlines for time to time and i dont really care playing in inside. My local fields limits are. (Inside 1,2j) (Outside up to 1,6j with full auto) (Dmr,sniper max 3j semi only) Also i like playing with 1-4x 20x Variable optic so that explains a bit of my ranges. I know this is pretty long one but is there a better way than asking the Mws master hemself. Thank you!
well heavy BBs are definitely the choice for the MWS that's for sure. and if your site tests on joules then you'll be at the limit pretty much, especially in the summer. Id say the focus should be on accuracy so something like a modify Tan bucking with a Brass Nub should see you getting slightly better then you're currently getting, if you really want a good inner then the Maple Leaf Crazy Jet Barrels are good, stock MWS is 250MM and you need a VSR/GBBR cut. it boosts FPS a little but they do seem to preform really well, for me anyway!
When I clean the inner barrel I always go from rubber side and forward. And never back and forth, just pulling it through, twisting it, a few times until the papper comes out clean.
When cleaning the inner barrel, is it ok to turn off the hop up and then go from that side to out, pull through, then repeat? They way I’m thinking I’m completely avoiding any dirt going towards the hop up chamber too?
Yeah that works. As long as you're aware of potentially getting dirt and grime in the hop up then it's not too hard to avoid. I would always turn the hop all the way off before you start cleaning though as you said.
you know what after about 6 years of owning the mags ill only ever take them apart when something stops working or breaks. I've got about 10 MWS mags and in 6 years I've opened about 2 of them, so for me its a case of if it aint broke don't fit it. I've broken loads of stuff trying to make incremental improvements and usually it ends up making it worse. that being said there's nothing wrong with maintaining your Mags, but as long as you always keep a bit of gas in them they should be fine. Regarding the BB feed specifically I've been known to jam a Q Tip down there and give it a wiggle from time to time but ill never really disassemble the mag to do it (too many mags = too much effort for me)
Hey, Ollie. I recently bought a G&P Buffer kit which includes the buffer time, roller & buffer. Have you used this before? I have heard it has no benefits ... I only ordered it for the buffer buy may consider installing the kit. Thanks!
I've not used it myself only the buffer with moving weights. Check with the discord group as someone will have experience with it 😁 discord.gg/TYCPjg7F6g
Hi Ollie, what silicone spray do you recommend for the gear box specifically? For the bcg I use a ptfe grease and apply it all around apart from the nozzle of course, maybe that’s excessive?
Yeah I probably wouldn't be using anything that thick personally. That's why I like the spray as it's super thin and doesn't slow the system at all. Less gunky basically. I'm just using a nuprol one at the moment buylt any 100% silicone spray will do the job.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft I do turn the hop up off to clean, but do you ever actually clean the hop up bit that comes down to spin the bbs (lol mind block I can’t remember the name of that specific bit) at all? If so, what’s the best way?
@@Allegro_Giusto yes turn the hop off. I usually bend a QTip in half and put it into the breach end of the barrel (where the hop is) then clean it like normal from the muzzle end. Once it's coming out clean Ill run a couple all the way through with the QTip removed. This stops excess dirt finding its way onto the hop up rubber.
