    What a wonderfully informative video.
    And can we all just appreciate the expense Ollie has gone to in order to produce this video. Countless amounts of cycles to determine these findings, and that’s a lot of gas! Airsoft gas is rather expensive for the little amount you get, so thank you Ollie for providing this service.
    Legend! 🤙

    Thx for your very informative video. MWS was my first gbbr. I've owned it since 2018. I'd always had problem with the magazines. They'd spill out gas whether it was green gas or normal gas too soon. Then I tried inserting a tiny rubber o-ring in the gas valve at the bottom to stop gas spilling out. It seemed to work for some time until the vavle gave out. And I bought a new gas valve for Hi Capa and do the green gas mode and it works. Now I can fill as much gas I want (of course I will follow your advice as to the appropriate amount of gas). Your tip on titling the magazine while charging it is really ingenius.

    My man Ollie strikes again bringing in that really awesome knowledge on the MWS system!
    Half of my mags are GG Modded and standard, I’m very much the same I top up my mags, I generally don’t load them back up mid game, only when the round is over.
    I would agree with you that overall depending on your play style, the results may vary in terms of performance.
    I’m quite an aggressive player in the sense of hitting the objectives etc, however I like to play quite tactically and only really engage with targets I can hit, or when I know I’m gonna win that engagement.
    Fundamentally I think GBBR players, have a totally different play style compared to AEG/HPA users and are more deliberate in their engagements, rather than the spray and pray mentality.
    This I think can mitigate some of the issues you’ve raised in your video, namely with liquid gas going through the system. But that being said I think it’s a really important point to make especially with those moving over to GBB systems from AEG!
    Great video again! 💪

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great points, I think you're right about how most GBBR players play, we pick and place our shots. I was most surprised but the boost in consistency, I did fast shooting, slow shooting, waiting between BB reloads and not and each time the GG modded mags were more stable. It's just the overfilling that can cause some issues but nothing catastrophic. I think for a lot of people the middle ground would be the best place to sit but it's all about the temperature really. I could talk about it for hours! Always appreciate your support, thank you!!

    I came here with a question of how many bbs can i get from one gg bottle and i got the answer. So if my calculations are right, one gg bottle that holds 375g of gas can fill 25 mags+- (15g per fill/70-80bbs). That means that one gg bottle is enough for at least 1750-2000 bbs.

    Greetings from the middle of Canada! I enjoy all your videos and I've been looking forward to this one.
    In the winter the airsoft community in our city is limited to playing at one cqb field. All of my MWS mags are modified.
    I played with the MWS and I noticed when firing aggressively the mags would empty all contents. Another MWS user that game who didn't pull the trigger as quickly or often had little trouble using the MWS system in our skirmish. In addition the ambient indoor temp was cold. The temp outside was around -30 that night. When I tried to refill the mags to keep gas in them but the fill valves seemed to fail.
    I thought perhaps my hammer spring is too weak, nozzle might be too weak, bulb might have frozen and the mags aren't holding gas anyway due to the fill valve. I made some modifications to my system with a Posiedon Ice Pick Valve and and AMG 'Winter Spring Set' in the trigger box. The troublesome fill valves have also been replaced with Nine Ball Inlet Valves. They fill with gas and the gun fires.
    All that aside, your study and review of the Green Gas Mod is insightful, as always.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for your message. It sounds like you're right at the extreme end of cold weather and you'll be pushing your MWS to the max! Are you using a lightweight bolt at the moment? it'll help a bit if you're not already doing it. What gas do you use, I think I'd be in the MAPP gas at those temperatures!!

    • @mattpurchase8165
      @mattpurchase8165 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OllieTalksAirsoft It had a rough go that skirmish but I was impressed it worked at all! I'm only using a stock bolt at the moment but I can see that's an ideal place to cut weight in the system. Thanks for the tip! For fuel I'm using camping propane with a Mad Bull adapter.
      I haven't used MAPP yet... but I'll probably test out 'Black Gas' as I hear it's a little more heavy duty that reg. propane.
      Keep up the great work!

    Hey Ollie, great video and thanks for making and sharing this. I’ve just acquired an MWS that came with gen 3 mags. Do they require any different modification/techniques than the gen 2 mags? I haven’t been able to find any information on them at all so far. I assume that they just require an O ring thrown on the inlet valve and the tilt but I wasn’t sure as I’m very new to the MWS. Thanks!

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So there won't be much of a difference, as long as you tilt the mag you should be fine getting enough gas in there. When people (including me) refer to the versions of the mag its only ever really subtle differences, like the fill restrictor being glued in better or a slightly higher gauge of spring for the side of the follower.
      With regard to the silent fill valves I don't use them because I like that the mags spill some gas when they're full so I don't overfill them, as in game you never know how much gas is left in your mag so then I'm back in the safe zone refilling I just fill all the mags till they spill some gas out and I never have any mags run out, if I were you id just run the mags as they are.

    @FXTRT1-1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for this video! VERY informative. I got one question tho. TM recommends 134a or 144a gas...and designed the overall system for it. However, when you use Green Gas anyways, does it harm your stock MWS or is using Green Gas just fine? i've read the system will wear and tear easier with GG than with 134/144. All i've upgraded so far is the Buffer to a heavyweight, got the standard Bolt and spring in it. I want to upgrade my inner barrel to a full length 14" got any recommendation?

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well when it comes to green gas it does wear more but it's in totally worth it it. I've been running thews hard on green gas from day 1 with a heavy recoil setup as soon as it came out. I've run black gas loads too, and have only ever had mi or issues, like the nozzle return spring failing which is a known issue. But the gun is solid, it eats green gas all day long. As for the inner barrel I've had a lot of luck with the maple leaf crazy jet barrels but it's all about the polishing and the microns, and to be honest it's more about the hop. Rubber and nub matching will out perform any inner barrel in terms or noticeable difference. Them after you have the perfect combo you can look at an inner. And don't worry I've got another big video planned going over ALL the major hops and nubs and what to use together

  • @oxApplePkerxo
    @oxApplePkerxo ปีที่แล้ว

    Yo Ollie so I cut my fill tube just an inch looking for winter performance but it did’nt work so well and I am planning cutting to the same level as the fill valve. That should leave the venting function, and you can actually top off gas, in theory, what do you think? Only negative I am seeing is loss of full auto all together, even at summer temperatures.

  • @sonnern
    @sonnern 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good video man. Did you do any tests with only cutting an inch off the tube? If you top up a mag with the tube just cut an inch off, would that be overfilling?

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the one variation I didn't do as it'll mean that at some point I will have to do it to all the mags and I'm lazy!! I think just removing an inch would be a good middle ground for most players needing to get a bit more gas in the mag but who understand the problems of overfilling. But I do also think that as long as people are getting a good 15g in a non modified magazine then it will work fine.
      The biggest surprise for me was the FPS consistency gains, although in hindsight it was to be expected.

    • @sonnern
      @sonnern 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OllieTalksAirsoft yeah i think so. I would do the GG mod cause Norway as we spoke of before, but I'm heavy on the trigger. While not doing full auto, i tend to fire semi quickly sometimes.
      I'm going to do the tilt trick next game and take it from there. If it doesn't work out, i might start by taking an inch off the magazines.
      If push comes to shove, I'll just have to start bringing a scale :p

      Most green gas comes with silicone oil and this is fine to use, if you use dry green gas you have to take a bit more care of your bolt as it'll dry out.
      I use GG with silicone basically all the time as there isn't enough in there to mess up performance.
      People also use propane a lot as it's cheaper and with that again you just have to make sure you give the bolt a blast of silicone spray to keep it in good condition every couple of games.

      So from what I can remember the changes from v1 to v1.5 were to do with the BB follower. Then from v1.5 to V2 they changes the inlet valve and glued the limiting tube inside. I think for most people as long as they do the tilt they should be fine but there's people all ove the world with different setups, play styles and ambient temperatures so everyone is going to be slightly different. Someone in North America may not need to do the GG mod but for someone in Canada it may be the right move.

    Ollie, two questions: 1 - what gas should I use in my TM MWS M4A1? In the summer and in the winter? Lubricated or not? 2 - If I use an HPA adatper, do I need to lubricate the replica more? THank you.

      I would not recommend red or black gas as it will destroy your components inside the gun. Because it is made of plastic and not metal!

    Hi Ollie, I ‘think ‘ I’ve seen all you TM AKM vids. and I’ve just ordered mine. I’m new to Gasbbr, so can you please advise me:
    Is Ultrair GG ok in this unti, also, using your ‘tilt and fill’ technique, approx. how many fills will I get to a can of gas ?
    Thnx

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe 20 mag fills from a can of gas, zeroone pro gas is cheapest green gas to buy in bulk. Ultra air is very good, slightly smaller cans and metal fill nozzle so more leakage, cheapest place for that is fire support.
      I don't think the GG mod is necessary on the AKM, tilting the mags seems to work pretty well to get enough to mag dump.

    Off topic, but have you tried the Angry Gun MPA nozzle for the MWS? Thinking about getting it as it has an NPAS built in. What about the MEC PTS buffer? Haven't heard many people talk about it but it seems good.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft

      I have tried the Angry Gun nozzle and I wasn't very impressed to be honest but it may also be worth checking with others on the discord group and see what they think. If you need a link let me know and I'll send it over.
      I've not tried the MEC PTS buffer and I have to say as far as GBB stuff goes PTS are yet to come out with a product that's impressed me, and I have their mega arms rifle.
      It looks similar to the G&P, anything that's light and has a moveable weight will be as good I'm sure but given it's just a buffer I can't see them messing it up that badly!!

    Would that issue with overfilling the mags be solved by using green gas with no silicone oil? Puff Dino green gas comes to mind for that.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it probably would help with some of the issue, the gas is still liquid in the mag so it'll likely it will still spray out but without the added silicone the system will only get cold rather than wet with silicone also.
      I think I'll have to give it a try, good shout!!

    Hello Ollie, greetings from Spain. I have a question. I was wondering if you can fill an standar mws marui mag with co2 and see what happened. I actually never seen a video or a comment about that. Do you think that the mws can manage the co2 or on the contrary it will broke into pieces or something? I have the mtr model with the g&g valve and heavy buffer kit. Thanks a lot and thanks for
    Your very helpfull channell!!

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      good question, I think the mag seals would likely below or leak as CO2 is 850 psi and Green Gas is about 100 psi so a bit difference.
      the biggest problem would likely be getting the hammer strong enough but im sure the gun could take it, I may give it a go one day but not today 🤣

    What if you just cut the tube in half or say 1/4 off?

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  ปีที่แล้ว

      You get more gas into the mag, it's a balancing act. You don't need to do the GG mod but if you only want to get a bit more gas into the mag then cutting rather than removing the tube will help get a bit more gas in but will mean it's less likely you get the full splash like you do with a completely GG modded mag.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got all the versions of the TM mags over the years, they can all take green gas without modification. V3 mags have the restrictor valve in there hard so you often have to cut them to do the GG mod but it's not necessary in order to use green gas.
      the only TM product I know of that really can't take green gas is the tanks for the M870 full size as they expand. other than that all TM guns can take Green Gas, especially the MWS.

    R134a is a fridge gas. It's not a CFC. But it's pretty hefty at global warming. 1 gramme of 134a is equivelant to 1.4kg of CO2 --- or driving my RX8 for about 5km.

    • @OllieTalksAirsoft
      @OllieTalksAirsoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the guns modify p-mags are probably the best aftermarket mags that will take propane all day with no issues and for the most part don't really over fill. but the standard TM mags will take propane fine, even propylene (as long as you don't live in California or somewhere crazy hot), if you leave the restricting valve, (so don't do the GG mod) then you can fill them until capacity until they spill gas to let you know its full, so no timing the pumps. sounds like stock mags are the way forward, maybe add the guarder routers to give a bit more kick 😉
