An AMG car.going into limp mode when you do spirited driving is hands down, entirely unacceptable. If it's a car issue, then that's worrying. If it isn't, it's unacceptable. Get your stuff together, Mercedes!
This turtle icon is a newer one for our Hybrid and EV Mercedes-Benz drivers. It means that you are seriously low on charge and likely ignored the charge indicators over a period of time. The car then restricts power automatically to protect the expensive battery pack from harmful damage.
At least the CLA45 deserves the AMG badge. The CLA 35 is a normal traffic car. It doesn't deserve the AMG badge. You can get 300+ horsepower from many normal soccermon cars that costs less.
The 45S is not much slower than an RS6 and you can get a 1 year used for $60k already. In terms of emotions I agree, it is overpriced - especially because of the sound. But what better option is there at $60k that matches Mercedes interieur quality and horse power? You need to pay atleast $80k to get a Panamera, M3/4. And Audi interieur sucks for the RS3.
@@amitvil1 Absolutely. At 60k you can get a used C8, push to 70 and an M2, Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio is around 63k barely touched with 500 horsepower with a fairly nice interior. Good materials. If you want something more reliable but still luxurious you can get a Genesis G70 3.3t for about 35k barely used with 10 year warranty. However, I was quite disappointed that the majority of the sound seems to be artifically generated and pumped through the speakers. It becomes really annoying because it's the exact same sound and tone every time. Even more extrem in the 45S. Did you notice the same?
Going into limp mode on a brand new German car is not something I'm new to. I had a 330e go into limp mode and pop a CEL on the dash a week after buying it off the showroom floor. A month later while it was charging in my garage I was welcomed with the smell of sulfur (battery acid). Had it towed to BMW and they spent 11,000 under warranty replacing the battery/electric motor. Bought an M550i at a dealer 2 states away. I had to drive 350 miles to get the car home and about 320 miles into the trip it went into limp mode for a faulty high pressure fuel pump. I had to call BMW and have it towed to the nearest dealer and pay for my own uber about 30 miles from my house. In 2023 I switched to an 8Y Audi RS3 and I've still had minor issues not powertrain related. The RS3 has had ACC failure issues, 2 B&O speakers blown, and camera speed limit reading failure warnings. I currently have 17k miles on the RS3

The ECU sensed an issue through sensors in or around the engine, and must've picked up on something "wrong". And what happens is that the car goes on Limp Mode, as if it's injured, and needs to "Limp" to the dealership to get checked. You could erase the codes with a scanner, which takes it out of limp mode, but doesn't fix the problem, so it could do it again if push too hard. And never erase the codes or do things yourself with a new car, or else you could void the warranty on it.
I get it with all the regulations about engine size and CO2 emissions, but cmon, a 4 cylinder in an AMG is just embarrassing. It's even more embarrassing when you realize that you pay OVER 50k for it. Cmon Mercedes, you can do better.
