      Liquid is always nasty, especially if it's a fat and/or sugar containing drink. Regardless of how we protect the PCBA, you need to clean out the entire thing or else it'll just start to mold inside, degrade PCBA faster, and keys get sticky!
      So good job taking it apart!

    The only reason you "Should Not" use Krytox 205g0 on your stabs is strictly a cost issue, it's expensive and considered a waste when other lubricants like Dielectric Grease or the Molykote EM-50l you showed can do basically the same job on the stabs, neither works better or worse so i wouldn't go as far to say you outright "Should Not" use 205g0 for stabilizers, it's just more cost effective to use something else unless you don't have anything else on hand, then going out & buying something else specifically for stabs when you only have one set to lubricate would be more wasteful.

      @@jtechmkb it’s very hard to do prelubed keyboards without major price increases, as its very labor intensive. It’s hard and expensive to automate, not to mention the fact that using too much or too little lube on the keys can cause it to not sound as good, so you would also need the automation to be very controlled and precise, meaning that practically speaking the only way to lube it with decent results would be by having someone hand lube rhe keyboard. This however greatly drives the price up as lubing can take up to an hour, which means you pay for lube, equipment, expertise, and the wage of the person lubing.

    I get lubing by hand(already are pre-lubed) improves the sound profile but does it make them any smoother? The switches already a lot more smooth than typical switches due to the different mechanism I'm skeptical lubing would make much difference in this regard.

    Yeah so I just spent 6 hours cleaning and lubing my 60HE today. I've had it for almost a year so it's broken in p well. people say the switches are mid but if im not mistaken in fine print under the stem it says they're made by Gateron so take that as you will. My advice is to do your due diligence and fully, fully lube the switches. I think the stock leker switches are more firm than anything so I wouldn't worry about them jamming from excessive lube. I followed the tutorial and lubed all the parts of the switch, without over lubing any parts of the swtich, and they sound like a million bucks.

      I do not know if you found your answer, but you CAN clip the stabs! I clipped mine and they feel/sound a lot better. You can also band-aid mod your stabs as well. The only downside is the stabs are plate-mounted, which is not a HUGE deal, but would be nice to see this. For a gaming keyboard, it's amazing that we even have the ability to do mods that you would normally see on a custom. The fact you can even swap the PCB into other cases is awesome alone.

    • @Wooting
      @Wooting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most Cherry profile keycaps don't interfere. But we have seen GMK sets having problems. In that case, you can always rotate the switch 180 degrees, and you are totally fine. :)

    • @Wooting

      The keyboard is factory lubed out of the box. Some users want a different sound or feeling to their keyboard and that is the main reason people lube their keyboards.
      It doesn’t influence the keyboard speed, delay or input lag in any way.

      I quote from the website, since Calder has written it so nicely 😁
      "The new MCU compared to the current MCU is more powerful. That said, the current MCU still meets our requirements and expectations. There is no difference in performance and features for the time being.
      We can even guarantee that regardless of the MCU, you can and will enjoy the comparable features and performance up until January 2024. After this date, we expect to exceed the capabilities of the current MCU and can't make the same guarantee anymore.
      There will be one notable difference. The new MCU will have more available configuration slots for advanced features such as DKS, Mod-tap, and other potential advanced key configurations we might create. We expect the new MCU to store about twice the amount of slots thanks to its larger temporary memory (SRAM)."

    • @Wooting

      We recommend hand-lubing the stabilizers or put some excess lube inside the housing and see if that improves your rattle. Each sample is slightly different in terms of rattle. We deduct any VAT etc. from our international store shipping to China and provide worldwide warranty, in case you want to make the jump.
